Valentino in Leipzig

Good pizza 🍕 and good service unfortunately not so good today. Unfortunately I'll be looking for a new Italian restaurant

Sorry, but I felt like I was in a train station bar. Uncomfortable and treated like a second choice guest by the staff. Eating so-so. The map has shrunk extremely. At the old location, probably with different staff, it was much better and the atmosphere was completely different. Not recommended anymore. Too bad.

We were there for lunch. The food was good and the staff friendly. Unfortunately I didn't like the atmosphere that much. But that's just my personal impression.

The food is okay, but in my opinion the price/performance ratio is not right. Service was very moody and not friendly.

I showed up on a weekend around 1:30pm without a reservation, the store is very large and has tons of space, so we were seated right away we were seated immediately with no waiting time. It was nice to be able to enjoy the Christmas market atmosphere while eating through the large windows. We had the 'Penne all Arrabiata, Risotto Radicchio, Bitter-Lemon, and Pepsi-Cola', but if I were to visit again, I would definitely choose a different menu item.

We enjoyed going to the old Valentino regularly when we were in Leipzig. During our last visit we discovered that a lot of the old Valentino had been lost during the move. The menu is no longer recognizable, many dishes that we knew were not included on the new menu. For food we ordered two pizzas and a pasta dish, the food was ok, but given the price, it's a bad value for money. According to the waiter, the ingredients and the bakers were the same as in the old Valentino that day. But the quality and taste weren't right. Unfortunately, the tiramisu was already sold out (Saturday around 6:50 p.m.), the waiter looked at us with the disappointment on our faces and apologized, but on a normal weekend without big events in the city center or public holidays, that's bad planning. It was very hectic and restless throughout the store, and some of the staff seemed distracted. If at one moment it walked to the left with full plates, shortly afterwards it came past us again with the same plates and went in the other direction. That evening, Valentino didn't invite us to stay longer and have a few drinks in peace. We will now look at other Italians in Leipzig. In this condition, the Valentino is no longer for us.

After the move, the menu became significantly smaller. However, the ambience and service are still just as great as before 👍

You don't get what is on the menu. The ingredients listed are simply missing. E.g. anchovies in spaghetti or pistachios in ravioli. My food was completely forgotten. Came after request without apology - buffalo mozzarella with tomato and basil. Except it was arugula instead of basil. Without comment. The guests are stupid and don't know the difference. Pannacotta with caramel sauce came with strawberry sauce and didn't taste good. Creme brulee was burnt. Unfortunately there was no apology. Just a “This is happening.” No, that was my first and last visit.

The food was well, the lasange was almost suitable for vegetarians, such a small amount of meat. The tomato sauce just tasted like tomatoes. NO herbs, no spices. When my wife was eating, you had to look for the porcini mushrooms on the plate. The pasta was with the same sauce. You got full. But that was it after that. Oh yes, the wine was delicious and the price was also reasonable.

A piece of Italy in Leipzig For us, Valentino is one of the best Italian restaurants in Leipzig. The dishes - especially the desserts - are prepared with so much attention to detail that you simply have to enjoy them. As soon as you enter, you are greeted with a friendly smile, and this warmth continues throughout the entire evening. You immediately feel welcome. If you are looking for a special place for a relaxed evening with delicious food, this is the right place. We can only recommend the Valentino and will definitely come back! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Super friendly staff. The food is always very fresh and deliciously prepared. The portions are generous but not too much - just right for us. The ambience is also very classic Italian and the lunch specials are inexpensive and also recommended. We have never been disappointed, the quality is always top notch. For us it is the best Italian restaurant in Leipzig.

There's not much left of what was once the best Italian restaurant here in Leipzig, unfortunately...the menu has become so small. The selection looks different, the prices are not justified, we didn't like anything at all, the service was okay, apart from one waitress it was probably a completely new team, we didn't like the ambience at all. Nothing remains of the old Valentino's charm. Unfortunately, it's a shame, now we who have remained loyal to Valentino for over 10 years have to look for something else.

If you have NO demand for friendly, motivated service, good food or a cozy atmosphere, this is the right place for you. Catastrophe - never again! The only positive thing is the location but given what we experienced, I would even go to Bamberg to eat well and be treated well.

No greeting or acknowledgment upon entry. Waiting is not the problem, the way is. Ultimately, we received plates with mediocre presentation and missing ingredients that were listed on the menu. When clearing the table, you are not asked whether you would like to eat anything or whether you liked it. When you then get up to pay at the bar, they become suspicious. If you want to pay by card, you will be told in an unfriendly manner that you will have to wait. Not satisfied.

Wir bekamen zu unserem Steak eiskalten Brokkoli serviert. Als wir den Ober darauf ansprachen bekamen wir lapidar gesagt: Draußen ist es kalt, da ist der Brokkoli auch kalt. In unseren Augen eine absolute Unverschämtheit. Ansonsten war das Essen ok, der Service allerdings grottenschlecht.

Unfortunately I have to change my original 5 star rating from 4 years ago. Please note that the majority of the reviews come from the old location and have only been copied over. All casseroles, with the exception of lasagna, have disappeared from the menu - just like spaghetti carbonara, for example. Unfortunately, the taste of the food itself is only okay and some of it arrives at the table only lukewarm in a much smaller portion. Where at the old location there was a baking dish with piping hot lasagne, now there is only a ladle of lukewarm lasagna on the plate. In terms of price, it has even become a little more expensive with smaller portions. The ambience is okay, but the blue pasta packages in the rustic wall unit don't fit. Overall, you can see the age of the location. Accessibility is not available.

Good Italian in the GDR building. Food received unexpectedly quickly, but still very tasty. Latte macchiato flawless and delicious. Price clearly justified. Staff friendly. Gladly again.

We were in the new Valentino and unfortunately I have to say that I don't like it. The memory card has become very small and it just can't match the old deal. The food was better and so was the service. Too bad

We ate here today after moving from Höfe am Brühl. If we didn't have a reservation we had to take a seat in the not yet renovated part of the restaurant. We felt like we were in a train station canteen - totally uncomfortable and drafty. The number of dishes on the menu has become very manageable, the best dishes are missing. The taste isn't that good either.

I am very impressed with the service and the food was delicious. I would eat there again at any time.

Es ist so traurig. "Unser" Valentino gibt es in Leipzig nicht mehr. Nach so vielen Jahren in Leipzig ist das Lokal geschlossen. Vielleicht gelingt ja ein Neustart an anderer Stelle ? Wir drücken die Daumen und danken für viele Jahre leckeres Essen und immer zuvorkommende Bedienung.

Now to the negative: When we got the menu after 10-15 minutes, we were asked straight away what we wanted to drink, and when I said that we had to take a look first, the answer came: “But that could take a long time, anyway.” order,” in an annoyed tone. The pizzas are wonderful, a wide variety of pastas. Very good flavor, the pizzas can even serve 2 people. It has vegetarian options.

The food was fine but expensive for what it is. I was waiting to be seated by a waiter, who seemed to be on his phone, until I was eventually waved in by a staff member across the restaurant and seated myself. The food is good but the service staff is an absolute disaster. Menu cards are slapped on the table in front of you and within 30-40 seconds the next waiter wants to take the order. I barely had time to read the first three pizzas on the menu. The drinks and the plates are also carelessly slapped onto the table. We won't be coming back.

Be careful when you order your meal, the may leave you as a liar, and say things that you didn’t order. They must learn about how to deal with customers when the problem was theirs. And not treat m as liars. Food is great, but arguing with customers is HORRIBLE.

Actually we just wanted to have a coffee. After we were assigned the place, the service was gone. We then picked up the tickets ourselves and decided to have an aperitif. After a long wait, the waiter came and took the order. The aperitif tasted good and was served quickly. When we asked us to pay, the lady wasn't really friendly and passed it on to our waiter. But he didn't feel interested. After a long wait we asked to pay again! It's a shame because the restaurant wasn't full so the staff could have done better!

MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE ITALIAN IN THE CITY! The staff is super attentive, nice, not intrusive and will sometimes make a little joke with you. My highlight are the dishes with the house-made, homemade pasta! No matter whether with shrimp or Gorgonzola! Simply delicious. Are you a fan of Vitello Tonnato? .. try it at Valentino! Quite average food for a high enough price

Great location on one of the market squares, some fountains are right next door to make the waiting time easier for the kids. Service then depends very much on the waiter. But it was also very crowded at times. The homemade ravioli are recommended.

The pizzas are very good, thin but crispy base and crispy edges. Coffee and desserts are also very good. The service is friendly and attentive. We'd love to come back.

This was my second time here. The first time with a group (about 10 people) and now recently again with my wife. It is recommended to reserve in advance. The food (main course) is okay and the price is fair for the location. You can't say anything negative about the friendliness of the staff (that's how it should be). What I have always noticed (both on my two visits and at other tables that were served) is that meals are served at a table as they are ready. One person watches the other starving as they eat, and by the time their own food arrives, the other is already half finished with their dish. In good restaurants everything is served at the same time (at least that's what I know and that makes sense). On the second visit we also ordered an appetizer (I can't remember the name, but something like garlic bread). Unfortunately, this only came with the main course and was already quite cold. I don't think I will go here again. There are restaurants where, as a matter of course, the issues that are disturbing here are simply not allowed to occur. Too bad!

Large restaurant with outdoor seating. Relatively empty on Sunday evening. Food quick and very tasty. Staff not overly friendly, but polite and quick. Points deducted when eating: the prawns were still completely in their shell. I know things differently when I have tagliatelle with it. Then only the head is on and the rest is removed. So it was a bit disgusting to make the cream sauce.
