You can choose freely or order directly from the menu. Everything tastes fresh, spicy, and homemade. Simply really, really good. Bottom line: No show, no frills – just honest soul food in the heart of the Schanze. I've loved coming here for years.

The kumpir tastes amazing! Everything is fresh and delicious, the compositions are nicely put together, and the price is quite low – 8/9 EUR. It's clear the guy behind the counter knows his stuff, and everything is served fresh within minutes.

My first Kumpir, on a friend's recommendation. It was delicious and I can't complain about the value for money. I was full. The shop is set up like a snack bar, with indoor and outdoor seating. Quaint and colorful decor, outdoor seating was OK (construction site right outside July 25), and the food (we had two Kumpirs) was plentiful and delicious. It's self-service, so one star deducted for service.

Very small for baked potatoes, with carelessly crammed side dishes. The service was extremely bad-tempered, and even though the place was empty, they didn't have time to make our children's potatoes with a little less cheese. Unfortunately, I can't recommend them at all!

Was looking for late night food or a döner. Instead I ended up here and got the halloumi bread. It was possibly the best night food. And everything they served seemed amazing. Definitely saving this address

As a Hamburg native, you probably think, yeah, Kumpir is nothing special. But when you move and look for a good Kumpir shop somewhere else in Germany, it becomes very, very difficult. I love the Kumpir from Kumpir König; whenever I visit my old hometown, I stop by here. Highly recommended.

Kumpir has been around for a long time but I was there again after a while and even after Corona and now with inflation, the prices are still affordable and the food is, like before, a 10/10! Highly recommended for a small hunger in between meals, as a healthy alternative to kebab.

The stuffed potatoes are very delicious. There is a lot of variety for both vegetarians and vegans. There are also meat dishes. The place is small and cozy. On weekends it is very well visited.

Unfriendly service, potatoes very small and burnt. Fillings were good in themselves, but you couldn't put together your own kumpir.

Unfortunately my visit here was very disappointing. The salesman was extremely unfriendly and showed no signs of hospitality. The entire atmosphere in the store was unpleasant, making me feel uncomfortable from the start. At the climax of the whole thing I found a hair in my food. Overall a very negative experience - definitely not recommended.

We have been coming back for years and are really impressed by the consistently good quality. Yesterday we were there with children for the first time and were amazed at how lovingly we were served. Thank you for so much heart!

After this shop was recommended to us with the words “best friend” in HH, we went there today. Very nice service, prices like all other providers. The seating and furnishings are rather spartan, but that's a matter of perception. Kumpir No. 1 with spinach and olives and No. 14 with chicken were tasty and plentiful, but not "the best" as I've heard so many times. However, we will try the falafel variants and the vegetable kebab again because they both looked super tasty.

I like the potato when I'm not too hungry. That's why it's always exactly right. I always put together something freestyle that I feel like doing.

😱 OMG guys, I have never eaten better falafel in all of Germany. Falafel box with ultra crispy balls, delicious salad, fried vegetables and 4 sauces. Deluxe ***** I would also give 10 stars. Btw the Kumpir are also delicious 😄

The dishes were good but the waiter only spoke in German and made no effort to try to understand himself in English. I was speaking to him in English, he decided that it would be in German and just took care of the customers behind me... then if you speak German, the dishes were good and not expensive.

Unfortunately, extreme stomach pain after eating! Kumpir basically only consisted of grilled vegetables, instead of 4 halloumi pieces I had 2 very very small ones. Card machine was available, but the staff only wanted cash from me. Although I would have liked to pay by card. Never again.

I’m no expert but this place is delicious and affordable. The food is vibrant, healthy, tasty, interesting and worldly. I liked the staff, they care a lot about the food they’re serving. The portions are generous - but for Germany they might be regarded as ‘substantial’ instead. Most options here are vegetarian. The atmosphere and location are fantastic, I liked the other patrons and the area. Eating inside is pretty comfortable too, nice decorations. The music playlist really isn’t any good though 😆 Should be improved. The drinks selection is better than average cos they serve local Hamburg soft drinks. My favourite dish is the something “Teller” with felafels in it and loads of salad and couscous. Large size is €9.90 - best tenner I spent in Germany. The tahini and hummus is next level - hard to beat. They take card and there is a bathroom onsite.

Ordered vegetarian, pieces of chicken in the meal. After speaking to the staff, they did not apologize but pointed out that the ingredients are close together and vegetarian and non-vegetarian mix quickly.

Super bad service. I ordered a vegetarian Kumpir and while eating it realized that it had meat in it. I then noted this and didn't even include an apology.

Price performance is quite reasonable. Everything is made fresh. Unfortunately, the food gets drowned in too much oil (in my opinion). Card payment is not readily accepted, but was possible.

Unfortunately, we only received three Halloumi pieces in the bread instead of four as stated on the menu. This was deliberate and bordered on fraud. However, the taste is okay. I then brought the empty plates back inside and received no response whatsoever. A thank you probably wouldn't be too much to expect. We won't be coming back.

So delicious! There are various kumpir and falafel to-go, or you can sit on the benches outside and inside. Fast service, the food is picked up at the counter. Simple, plain and well made! Good value for money

Busy store, especially at peak times. In addition to Kumpir, there is a wide selection of dishes. The Kumpir was delicious (fresh ingredients!), but for me the price-performance ratio wasn't right.

There were 6 of us because 4 had taken a pre-made potato, I took one to put together myself. The cost for mushrooms, olives, lettuce, coleslaw, tomatoes, sauce and 1 halloumi strip (approx. 5 mm by 4 cm) was €10. The prefabricated max €8.50. I don't really have a problem with the price difference, but with the one 5 mm strip and then there are 4 ingredients one way or another, that's extremely unfair. I went in again and asked if I really only got one strip of halloumi for €10. That was the answer: yes, you only wanted one and you took it to put together yourself and halloumi costs €1 for 1 strip... I wasn't expecting a whole piece, but at least 2-3 strips. Unfortunately, the taste wasn't nearly enough to ignore it. Satisfactory = 0 out of 10 Taste wise = 4 out of 10 Price-wise = 2 out of 10

Very tasty dishes from meaty to vegan. Everyone gets their money's worth here. The stuffed potatoes are just as delicious as the stuffed halloumi bread. The prices are really very fair and you get a great lunch/dinner. The ambience is a snack bar and simple, but that doesn't detract from the delicious food at all. A great option if you want to eat cheaply.
