Food and service were very good. The atmosphere was uncomfortable, with noisy guests, hard chairs, and a rather cold decor.

Very friendly staff. Luckily, we were still able to get something to eat even though the kitchen was about to close. The food fully met our expectations.

Small, colorful, bustling – typically Schanze. And that's precisely why it's so charming. The Kumpir König isn't a fancy restaurant, but a place with soul. Those who come in here get huge, oven-fresh potatoes (kumpir), brimming with everything your heart desires: olives, arugula, fresh tomatoes, yogurt sauce – or even falafel, halloumi, or kebab on top. You can choose freely or order directly from the menu. Everything tastes fresh, spicy, and homemade. Simply really, really good. Add an Astra, a touch of chaos – and a smile later, you've eaten exactly what you didn't even know you were hungry for. Bottom line: No show, no frills – just honest soul food in the heart of the Schanze. I've loved coming here for years.

The Wiener Schnitzel is sensational! It's worth the wait. And the prices aren't inflated like in many other places, considering the quality. With a little more attention to the ambiance, this restaurant could be THE place to eat in Altona/Ottensen.
