Kromer's Restaurant & Gewölbekeller in Erfurt

We were incredibly lucky to get a table at Kromer's today (the last one...). We ordered roast goose breast with dumplings. It was absolutely delicious! We'll definitely be back. A huge compliment to the entire team. As we now know, making a reservation in advance is highly recommended. Greetings from Halle. 😊

Although this restaurant hardly needs another glowing review due to its immense popularity, here it is: There were four of us for lunch, and it was an absolute delight. The menu selection is small but exquisite. I had the venison goulash, and it was fantastic. The goose consommé as a starter was also delicious. We also had locally brewed beer on tap. It couldn't be better. If you'd like to experience this for yourself, you should definitely book a table in advance.

We had a wonderful evening. A very cozy, family-friendly, and welcoming atmosphere with excellent food. Very good home-style cooking, just like Grandma used to make. We were very satisfied. Highly recommended!

We were in Erfurt for four days and had dinner at Kromers on the first night. The roast goose leg was outstanding. The waiter was truly passionate about his work, but above all, he was attentive to the guests. We felt very welcome. The food was top-notch, and I'm not just saying that; I had a direct comparison. Two days later, I had the same roast goose leg at another restaurant. It was impossible to cut. And although the attentive service brought a second leg, it was also tough. Therefore, 12 points for Kromers 👍🏼 The roast goose leg still makes my mouth water just thinking about it. Only the red cabbage was a little too sour. Otherwise, a 10 out of 10.

We spontaneously went to Kromer's for lunch today, and despite the restaurant being packed, the owner took care of us and made sure we got a table :) The cordon bleu and the pork cheeks were phenomenal, and the service, like the food, deserves 12 out of 10 points. If you're in Erfurt, I highly recommend stopping by Kromer's :)

The food was very good. The dumplings were soft, the beef roulades were very well seasoned and tender. The red cabbage had the perfect amount of cinnamon and cloves. The venison goulash is also highly recommended.

Very good food. We had the pork cheeks, which were very tender; you didn't need a knife and they were really delicious. The roulade was also incredibly tasty. The venison ragout was also very good, albeit a bit firm in the meat, but that's to be expected with an animal dish; it wasn't due to the preparation. The dumplings are very, very, very good. The portions are also very good and plentiful. We enjoyed the beers, the darker one a bit better, as it had more flavor. We would come back for the food in a heartbeat; it's definitely worth recommending! Simply top-notch! The room was very warm, but many people like that; it was very cold outside. We sat upstairs; we didn't see the vaulted cellar. Unfortunately, the service seemed tense and not always entirely passionate, but apart from that, it was a lovely evening for us, which we enjoyed.

I went to Kromers with my son today for dinner. The food couldn't have been better, and we also really enjoyed the service!

We liked the idea of ​​"house rules" and wanted to follow them with our local beer. Upon entering, we also announced that we would like to hand over our beer, but apparently no one cared. So we needlessly lugged the beer to Erfurt and then back home.

We had a reservation for two. Unfortunately, there was a slight discrepancy with the calendar, so we didn't have a table for ourselves upon arrival. However, we were able to sit at a larger table and were moved after the appetizer. The host was very apologetic and asked if this was okay. Afterward, we were seated and received our main courses. These were very, very tasty. Kudos to the kitchen. The service was perfect. The restaurant is definitely worth a visit. Best regards

The staff is certainly very friendly and accommodating, but the food is unfortunately not at all convincing. Too fatty, too heavy, and too unimaginative. On hot summer days, you need light cuisine with a twist. But when the table setting is sticky, the cucumber salad is lacking in acidity and too salty, and the fried potatoes arrive at the guest's table fried to death, your appetite disappears. Unfortunately, it has become very difficult to find good food in Erfurt's city center.

A truly lovely visit. The restaurant was actually fully booked, but we managed to get a table and were wonderfully looked after and made to feel very welcome. A very warm, family-friendly atmosphere. We all enjoyed the food (raw pork, pork cheeks, chanterelle soup, tartar). Definitely worth recommending! Suggestion: Since each dish comes with two dumplings (which are delicious!), and all four of us had to leave half to one dumpling on our plates because we were full, and we'd seen others do the same, perhaps just one dumpling at a time, with a note saying: If you want seconds, they're free? That way, even if someone eats three, less would end up in the trash. Thank you.

We stayed in the holiday apartment, which is part of the restaurant, for three nights. We felt very comfortable in the apartment. And everything in the restaurant was excellent as well – good food, attentive service. The menu is small, but there's something for everyone. We'll definitely remember this address for our next visit to Erfurt.

Unfortunately, the Wiener schnitzel wasn't good – dry and disappointing in taste. The mushroom sauce was also very salty. I informed the waitress, but unfortunately, there was no response or apology. It's a shame, because as a guest, you feel like you're not being taken seriously. There's significant room for improvement here – both in the kitchen and the service.

We were in Erfurt over Corpus Christi and ate there one evening. The vegetarian options are very limited. I had asparagus with Bamberg croissants. On my plate, I received five thin, watery asparagus spears and six half potatoes. The cold, tasteless hollandaise sauce couldn't save the dish. The price, at over 23 (!) euros, was anything but reasonable. Since I was with a group, I didn't want to make a fuss, but I certainly won't be coming back. The service was poor, but it was the young lady's first day there, so I'll forget about it.

We celebrated our wedding at Kromers on June 14th. The preparatory discussions with the owner, Mr. Heilmann, regarding the planning and everything else were very positive. We had initially planned to rent the entire vaulted cellar for ourselves, but then, due to the positive weather forecast, decided at short notice to rent the beer garden – Mr. Heilmann and his team spontaneously supported this. I was even able to discuss the menu with the head chef, and all his suggestions were excellent. The food, as part of the menu selection, was a huge hit with the more than 30 guests. It was piping hot on the plates, served promptly, and special requests were always accommodated. The cold cucumber soup with salmon garnish was just the thing for the hot temperatures and was super delicious and refreshing. The service, despite the fact that the restaurant was also open at the same time, was very prompt, courteous, and very friendly. The guests were never left "dry"! I had the pork cheeks as a main course, and what can I say – they were very tender and the sauce was delicious to match. Many thanks to the entire Kromers team for a very special day in our lives! We were familiar with the restaurant and its good reputation for its food from before. Six of us came for dinner. The service was initially very friendly. I don't understand the good reviews of the food. None of us were satisfied. I had potatoes with asparagus. The potatoes were actually inedible (they were supposed to be Bamberger Hörnchen). The skin was thick and hard and they tasted awful. All for almost 24 euros. The wild herb hollandaise wasn't there; there was just some chives or something similar sprinkled over the asparagus. To top it all off, we each had to go to the cash register individually to pay because the waiter didn't feel like doing the math or whatever. That's unacceptable. It had a bit of the feel of a self-service restaurant. Unfortunately, I can't leave a good review.

Very nice restaurant. We didn't have a reservation and luckily got a table on a Saturday night. We were warned that it might take a while to get our food, but the wait was absolutely manageable. The food was very, very tasty. Highly recommended.

The quality of the food is very good

We were there on May 9th. with 5 people as guests Mushroom soup was very good. Dumplings and fried potatoes were not freshly prepared, schnitzel was fried too dry. Pork cheeks were great, red cabbage lots of cinnamon.

The food was quite acceptable for a group dinner but most of the staff (sorry for the one friendly lady) was outrageous. I have never experienced such a rude behaviour so definitely don’t recommend this restaurant. I would like to be treated as a customer, not a dog. Also coming to ask for an additional drink would be nice than rather have to go and ask for it. Mind you, we were the only group in so no excuses.

We had a very pleasant evening with exceptionally good food. The beer was drinkable, the wine nice and dry. We opted for the lumberjack schnitzel and the rabbit wrapped in bacon. Both are highly recommended and incredibly delicious. I had the cheesecake for dessert and was equally impressed. All the dishes were pleasing to the eye and arrived piping hot at the table. The ambiance, service, and prices are absolutely top-notch and reasonable. We'll definitely be back.

We were at Kromer's on Saturday for my mother-in-law's 80th birthday and we were completely satisfied. The nice weather made it particularly clear how convenient the restaurant is. Very centrally located in Erfurt, but in a quiet side street. And the food was very good. It's been a long time since I've had such a good cream of mushroom soup. For the main course I had rabbit with savoy cabbage cream and that was also really good. Tender meat and really well seasoned. The wine selection was also appropriate. Totally recommended. Very nice staff who took perfect care of our small birthday party.

We went to this lovely restaurant on a Saturday evening. The waiter was amazing. The food was super tasty. Unfortunately, the path to the vaulted cellar is not suitable for older people. This should perhaps be noted on the website before making a reservation. We can absolutely recommend the restaurant.

A clear recommendation from us!!! We were there yesterday for the candlelight dinner that a friend gave us as a gift on the occasion of our wedding anniversary today. The evening was more than successful! Our table was lovingly set, the food and service were unbeatable! All the employees were super nice and attentive. The restaurant was full, including some regulars, as we noticed, but there weren't any long waiting times. In addition, the price-performance ratio is really great and fair. In short, we haven't eaten so well in a long time and felt very comfortable! We'll definitely be back!
