Kromer's Restaurant & Gewölbekeller in Erfurt

Very nice service, delicious food and a nice atmosphere. We were lucky to get a table at short notice :)

The reception was quite cold and a little ignorant from the Padron, the service was a bit friendlier. The ambience is quite simple but clean. We had bread soup as a starter, which was rather mediocre. For the main course we chose a salad with mild goat cheese and a dish with Grandpa Kromer's supposedly great fried potatoes. The goat cheese was anything but mild, in fact hardly edible. The famous fried potatoes were cooked in oil, similar to fries without onion, the bacon was burnt. A basic course for preparing fried potatoes would be advisable. Once and never again!

My wife and I went to Kromer's for dinner this week. We had to wait a bit because despite reservations, all the seats were occupied. However, we were served quickly and very friendly afterwards. The food was fantastic, we both had beetroot salad as a starter and then the chicken slices. The best restaurant in Erfurt in terms of taste and at comparatively very fair prices. Clear recommendation!

The food was good, but not so convincing that we absolutely had to go there again. But as we all know, that is a matter of taste. Everything around was ok.

Excellent restaurant! Totally delicious food, roulades and pork cheeks with great sauces and Thuringian dumplings! As a starter, porcini mushrooms with nut bread, there was nothing left. Finally, an Erfurter herb rounded off the perfect service! When we are in Erfurt again we will EAT here. We say THANK YOU to the entire team!

I decided to come here at short notice despite the notice that it was fully booked. I was allowed to sit at the counter. Splendid! I haven't had such a great spontaneous dining experience in a long time. What is striking is the wonderful atmosphere of the team.

More than just a recommendation. A must! Delicious food, good beer and great service. Reservation is an advantage. And if you follow the house rules, you can also have a small talk with the boss in person

Dear Mr. Heilmann, The post on Tripadvisor “Is everything still OK” amused us so much that we even became aware of this great restaurant. Driving from Hamburg to Munich via Erfurt was absolutely worth it. We were completely thrilled. Unfortunately we forgot the Bavarian beers, so next time we'll bring Oktoberfest beer with us 👍🏻 Your “Munich people”

The food was very good, a wide selection of schnapps and drinks, friendly people, plenty of food. You definitely have to book a table in advance.

Wie immer hatten wir eine tolle Zeit, sehr leckeres, reichhaltiges Essen und Getränke sowie einen super Service. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall sehr gerne wieder, egal ob in großer Runde oder einfach zu zweit Vielen Dank an Steffen Heilmann und sein Team. Unsere Gäste und wir waren begeistert und haben uns gut aufgehoben gefühlt.

Delicious food, very nice ambience and very friendly and fast service. Actually everything was great, but unfortunately a bit too expensive for the quantity and medium of the food... at least I thought my salad with goat cheese, which although it tasted very good, was still overpriced.

Eight friends of us went to Kromer's it was a complete success. Ambiance food condition everything top. I can only recommend Kromer's. But it is important to book a table very early.

Best damn spot in Erfurt! Service totally on point, unbelievable delicious German Food, supremely high end and top quality! Beautiful building and very pretty "Innenhof" in the summertime. Will be my go to spot when visiting Thuringia for business but will be purely for pleasure!

Unusually good German cuisine - the fried potatoes with caraway are very delicate, not too soft/not charred, wonderful salad with herbs, pleasantly fresh with spicy acidity and strong remoulade with the smoked matjes. Very exquisite but the beef roulade and also the red cabbage and the dumplings but especially the sauce! Not the usual, ideally deglazed with red wine and muddled with cream and binding agent then "refined" with glutamate - no, it was really tasty - unfortunately the waitress didn't want or couldn't explain exactly what was special about the production - I suspected maybe apricot juice? Regardless, a must-eat! :)

Gut gefallen hat mir die Speisenauswahl und das zügige Servieren von Speisen und Getränken. Die Portionen hätten etwas größer sein können, aber es hat gereicht. Negativ ist mir die aufdringliche Art der Bedienung in Erinnerung geblieben, gefühlt alle drei Minuten nachzufragen, ob man noch etwas benötige oder ob noch alles in Ordnung sei.

During a visit to Erfurt, we stopped at this rustic restaurant after making a reservation online. Since the weather was very summery, we were able to eat our delicious meal in the cozy beer garden. The service was friendly and attentive. The sea bass served with spinach and mashed potatoes could have been a little juicier. But it tasted very good. The shredded chicken was excellent. You can recommend the restaurant without reservation.

Excellent home cooking (pleasantly large portions), extremely courteous staff and a beautiful outdoor area. The roulade was the best we have ever had in a restaurant. The next time we are in Erfurt, Kromer's will be on the program again!

We've been coming here often for lunch for two years. So far we have been very satisfied. Today, however, my husband and I were very disappointed. We had ordered 2 seats outside, there was a table for 2 and a table for 4 still available. However, the 2nd seat was without a parasol and in such heat the table didn't work at all. According to the waitress, we weren't allowed to sit at the table for four. (because it was a table for 4 and not a table for 2). There wasn't even a reservation sign on the table. Do you have to understand that? Okay, we just went in. I had ordered a chanterelle cream soup as a starter, but when the soup arrived I was more than disappointed. The soup was more like, how should I put it, a water soup, very, very thin for a cream soup. I pointed this out to the waitress and she replied yes she is thin. The disappointment came with the bill, even though I had barely touched the soup, it was on the bill for the full price. Of course I asked the waitress about it again, and her answer was that she had forgotten to take it off 🙈. Not even a goodbye was said at the exit. Very, very unfortunate!

Very cool atmosphere and delicious beer. Just had something to drink there and the menu will be tested next time we visit. Staff very friendly. Always my pleasure.

Food not recommended. Burnt fried potatoes floating in fat. Just a type of beer "Michels Braumanufaktur" that doesn't taste good.

Unfortunately, unfortunately only three stars. The food and ambience are excellent. Unfortunately the service is lacking. The boss is very accommodating and found a nice place despite the full house. Unfortunately, the employees or temporary workers don't have the same service mentality. When we presented the daily specials at the next table, our waitress turned to us and said that the same applies to her. That's pretty much how it went. The temporary worker, who had just started working, spent the first half hour celebrating the start and the drink she mixed herself. The worst thing we found, however, was that the colleague at the bar poured the ice for the drinks into the glasses by hand. Unfortunately, at some point the food takes a back seat. Very unfortunate.

The ambience is really nice! The service was terrible: we had to pay for drinks that we didn't order/drink. The lady from the service was very angry and unfriendly, no clarification possible! My napkin dumpling salad was inedible for me. Conclusion: There are much better addresses in Erfurt!!

Restaurant with a very nice atmosphere in the old town of Erfurt. The beer garden is small but very tasteful and away from the hustle and bustle of the old town. The selection of dishes is small but fine. The beer from a home brewery is absolutely delicious. The very good service rounds off a great experience perfectly. Always my pleasure.

Despite having full reservations, we weren't turned away, and that was a good thing. The veal liver refined with cherries was a culinary delight, the service was super nice and full of recommendations. Just the perfect restaurant and definitely worth the money. Definitely a must for us next time you visit Erfurt, 6 🌟 stars.

Wir waren zum Abendessen hier gewesen und waren sehr begeistert. Meine Frau durfte den frischen Spargel genießen (Note 1+). Die Männerportion sollte ein auf den Speisekarten eher selten zu findendes Rindertartar sein...ohne Worte.....ein TRÄUMCHEN!!! Das Personal war äußerst aufmerksam und wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt! Vielen Dank für den schönen Abend!

Ein kleines Manko: keine Kartenzahlung möglich…war das wirklich „nur heute“? Dafür sah die Hinweistafel zu professionell aus 😉

We were at Kromer's last night, the food tasted excellent and the Hugo was super tasty (with homemade elderberry syrup). The boss and the waitress were super nice. Very nice vaulted cellar! Unfortunately, the noise level is really high due to the construction, so you need a lot of beer to lubricate your voice! This must be taken into account when choosing the means of transport on the way back! Thank you for a lovely evening in Erfurt!

If we could give more stars we would. This place leads by example across all points: food, service, atmosphere. Highly recommend you make a reservation as they’re always booked out. That says it all! Locals and visitors, it’s a favourite. Steffen, the owner, hands on which is impressive. His staff are in good form, always polite and professional. Always a good sign when staff are happy. Food! Don’t get me started. Everything on the menu is so incredibly delicious but when you come in May, you got to go seasonal with the asparagus dishes. Kromers’s is a beautiful restaurant and I can’t wait to come back next year.

Service sehr gut, schönes Ambiente in Garten, EG und im Keller. Wein zu hochpreisig für die Qualität. Essen: Cordon Bleu (Note 2) - saftig, sehr gute Bratkartoffeln, kleiner Gurkensalat etwas fad. Spargel mit Schinken (Note 1) - weich, guter Geschmack, leckere Soße. Warum dann nur eine 3? Der Raum ist akustisch ungenügend gedämmt. Dadurch ist es mega-laut. Wir hatten das Pech, eine angetrunkene Männerrunde von 11 Personen und eine Reisegruppe mit 8 Personen zeitgleich im Lokal zu haben. Das war nicht auszuhalten. Daher sind wir (trotz sehr schönem 2er Tisch) sofort nach dem Essen gegangen. Auch die Bedienungen sagten leider zu den Krachmachern überhaupt nichts.... schade. Wir würden uns daher überlegen, ob wir überhaupt nochmal kommen.

Wir hatten für ein Geschäftsessen einen Tisch für mehrere Personen reserviert. Aufgrund von unterschiedlichen Anreisezeiten mussten wir die Gruppe aufteilen und hatten dadurch viele Extra-Wünsche (extra Tisch, Essen für einen späteren Zeitpunkt bestellt etc.). Unsere Wünsche wurden wie selbstverständlich aufgenommen und umgesetzt. Das ganze Team vermittelt große Gastfreundschaft und zeigt ein tolles Engagement. Das Essen ist wirklich hervorragend und die Preise sind fair. Wir waren schon öfters hier und das Restaurant ist egal für welchen Anlass immer unsere erste Wahl in Erfurt.

We were here for the umpteenth time. And what should I write? With a bit of luck we got a table in the nice courtyard and immediately found something on the changing menu. The super nice service brought delicious food. We can only recommend enjoying a great evening here in summer (or in April with warm temperatures). Thank you that you exist.

Food: Classic Thuringian dishes, such as beef roulade or sauerbraten. But also other meat dishes. Plus fish and vegetarian dishes that sound delicious. Focus on regional and seasonal products. Good portions. Price/performance is absolutely right. Everything seems fresh and homemade. Roulade nice and juicy and tender, red cabbage coarsely grated and tasty. Dumplings as they should be. Plus an extra portion of sauce. That's what I like about Thuringia. Drinks: good selection. Here too, a lot from the region. Beer, lemonade, juice and spirits are from the region. Prices here are absolutely okay too. Service: very friendly. Always asking if everything fits. Very fast Ambience: Nice outdoor area. I sat in the vaulted cellar. Maybe there's still a little room for improvement here. Card payment possible

Big recommendation. ✨ Food: two soups, wild garlic and asparagus soup as a starter both really good in flavour and wild garlic soup tasted very fresh, seasoning was just right not too salty or overdosed perfect amount Main dish: German wild garlic dumplings with a small salad, avocado oyster mushrooms and cream sauce really really delicious the combination was on point Main dish with meat: Tafelspitz with potatoes sauce and garlic spinach, the beef was so tender and juicy very delicious Service: super kind from making the reservation until the end always attentive and friendly Atmosphere: if you want something special I would recommend going downstairs to the historical vault

One of the best meals I've ever eaten. I ordered a large chicken leg with fries. It was big. The chicken leg had an almost crispy skin, the meat was just as excellent, nice and juicy and not too little. The salad and dressing were not just some cheap stuff, but a very high quality side dish. I can only recommend eating there, I would like to give it 100 stars. And the crowning glory was the food from these older “beer mugs”. Just perfect.
