Delicious food and we got a table even without a reservation. Very dedicated coffee staff.

The service was incredibly friendly, but the food was tasteless. The dumplings were definitely not homemade. The gravy was also from a packet. The duck leg was unfortunately tasteless as well. I found that really disappointing.

We loved the traditional dishes and atmosphere. Waiter Mike made the experience extra special!! His charming way of dealing with all kind of different guests, even challenging ones, was wonderful to watch. A gem for Feuerkugel!

Even the reservation process was completely straightforward and very friendly – ​​even a quick phone call in advance to confirm everything put us at ease right away. We received a warm welcome, and the service was simply fantastic. The friendly gentleman who served us truly puts his heart and soul into his job – attentive, witty, and warm, but never intrusive. We immediately felt at home. The food was also truly delicious, everything fresh and lovingly prepared. You can tell the passion goes into the work here. An all-around successful evening – we can absolutely recommend the Feuerkugel and would love to come back! 🔥🍽️

Thuringian cuisine as it should be, in a beautiful old inn with friendly service. Here, guests are even seated and escorted to their table. The Sauerbraten with dumplings or the dark beer goulash are highly recommended. Other dishes also looked delicious. The only problem is, I didn't get a "Jägerschnitzel" 😉, well, it was intended for younger guests. I would have liked to try it as a "Westie."

The food was good. The waiter didn't understand what it means to serve guests. He was arrogant and treated us condescendingly.

Very disrespectful treatment right from the start! Even when ordering food, the male waitresses were very disrespectful and patronizing! Unfortunately, we all already had drinks, otherwise we would have gotten up and left! Such a person is not suitable for serving! Very arrogant; as adults, we all felt like little children! If there were six stars for service, I would have given it that. The service, whether at the table or behind the counter, was extremely friendly. The food was delicious, and the portions were decent enough to finish without feeling sick. A very nice, traditional inn located in the heart of Erfurt's old town. It's actually on the tourist strip. Tables outside, a lovely, rustic dining room, and an idyllic courtyard invite you to linger. Very friendly and cheerful staff. Fast service and a good selection of drinks. Unfortunately, all the dishes still have some room for improvement. Especially with the traditional dishes, such as roulade, sauerbraten, and braised duck, you'd expect the kind of expertise that this establishment offers. The meat was dry, the sauces were very flat and lacked depth, and the red cabbage was seasoned without any zing. The dumplings were homemade and very good in taste and consistency. Otherwise, many thanks again to the inn team!

The ambiance is quaint, rustic, and very cozy—perfect for enjoying authentic regional cuisine. 🍽️ Food: • The beef roulade and the sauerbraten were hearty and homemade, with classic red cabbage and dumplings—just as you'd expect in Thuringia. • ​​The potato pancakes with vegetables and chicken breast were fresh and delicious, well-seasoned, and not greasy. • The portions are generous and filling. 🍺 Drinks: The beer pairs perfectly with the hearty cuisine—even if it's a bit acidic, which might not be to everyone's taste. 🌟 Conclusion: Authentic Thuringian cuisine in a historic and cozy ambiance. If you love hearty, honest food, this is the place for you. Only the sauces could be a bit stronger and more distinctive, but otherwise, this is a highly recommended restaurant.

How can I offer first-class service, prepare an absolutely delicious meal, and put a smile on the customer's face? Gasthaus Feuerkugel: YES! I had dinner here spontaneously and was enveloped by the hearty charm of the beer garden. It's windless and absolutely pleasant, even at 12 degrees Celsius. The service was simply first-class! Even though it was quite busy, there was a genuine and friendly smile upon entering the restaurant, not a hint of stress! Fast service wasn't the only positive thing, but even more so the waitress's courteous willingness to go outside and get cigarettes for me at her own suggestion! I've never experienced anything like that before, after I asked if cigarettes could be purchased inside. (There is no vending machine in the restaurant.) The whole thing was topped off with a first-class portion of "Thuringian Sauerbraten"! I assumed Grandma's Sauerbraten could never be topped, but I was wrong! Wonderfully tender meat and Thuringian dumplings that melted in your mouth, rounded off with wonderfully prepared red cabbage, WOW! If I could, I'd give this 12 out of 5 stars!! I'd go back anytime, and a big thank you to everyone!

The Thuringian dumplings were mushy and watery from being left in the water for too long. Although I complained, I only received a silly explanation and no replacement.

Great place to enjoy traditional food

Yesterday, I was at the aforementioned restaurant with my wife and some good friends. I've always had nothing but good things to say about this restaurant...but yesterday...everything was suddenly different. It started with friendly service, and the drinks came quickly, and we were looking forward to a great evening. That soon changed. The food also came quite quickly, and then practically no one seemed interested in us anymore. We had to approach the waiter to even get their attention. Then they made us wait...then the wrong drinks came...then we decided to go somewhere else. After we asked for the bill, the bill was half-thrown at us and then it was gone again. Well, we probably won't go there again. I had a luncheon there for my wedding anniversary a few years ago...everything was great. And I've been there many times since and have always been satisfied...But now...

We sat here on a terrace with our family of four during our vacation. I had a delicious homemade watercress juice. Surprisingly good! Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. They're happy to explain items on the menu. They're also happy to crack a joke. Unfortunately, our youngest son forgot his raincoat when we left. We didn't realize this until after we arrived in Kraków. After an email to the restaurant, the issue was resolved quickly and very helpfully! EXCELLENT SERVICE!

The ambiance in this restaurant is stylish, and the service was very friendly. The food, especially the smoked pork dish, wasn't worth the price. The portion was very small, the food was simply reheated, the smoked pork and dumpling slices were dry and brown, and the white cabbage had more caraway than vegetables—completely off-putting. In retrospect, I'm annoyed that I didn't return the food, but hunger and the long wait played a role. I will avoid this restaurant in the future.

The service was friendly and professional, but also a bit distant. For 5 stars, my espresso didn't come with a cup of water, and we had to wait quite a while for the bill because no one else came by. The food (we had the roulades) was unfortunately not well seasoned. The dumplings were airy and therefore the best part. The roulades were a decent size, but not well seasoned. The sauce was too thin, and also tasteless, and the red cabbage was too firm and not very seasoned. Unfortunately, I can do better at home, and that's always a shame when you eat out.

We spontaneously stopped by for dinner during our visit to Erfurt. Saturday evening, 7 p.m.! All tables were full. After a short wait, we got a table for four. It was really good, with friendly, fast, and attentive service. Prices are reasonable for the regional food and drinks. Everything is freshly prepared and delicious. The atmosphere is authentically nostalgic. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately, the food was a mixed bag: The schnitzel was top-notch both visually and tastefully! The garlic mashed potatoes were surprisingly good and harmonious! Unfortunately, the "Kasslerbraten" (roasted smoked pork) didn't live up to the menu's expectations at all... The "roast" consisted of three very small, very darkly seared pieces of smoked pork that looked like leftovers from returned plates (hopefully they weren't) – but that's not how they should leave the kitchen! Inedible! The "serviette dumplings" weren't fluffy slices either, but rather hard, roasted pieces – the generous (served separately, not charged for) sauce somewhat redeemed this. The service was super friendly, and the apricot brandy (much needed after the disaster!) was on the house! Thanks for that!

The food was absolutely delicious. I can only recommend it. The service was very attentive, constantly asking if we needed anything else and how we liked it. The only thing I found a shame was that it was very loud inside. But then there's the winter garden, so it should be a bit quieter.

I can't comment on the food; we were there around lunchtime for a drink. There were very few customers, so we sat outside the restaurant. Unfortunately, no one acknowledged us. Finally, my wife went inside and ordered the drinks herself, and lo and behold, they arrived. 15 minutes later, the glasses were empty, and we wanted another drink. Again, no service! This time, I threatened to lose my business in the restaurant after locating the waitress in the courtyard while talking to a colleague (?). Official verdict: We won't be back, even though the ambiance in the restaurant and the inner beer garden is wonderful.

But sometimes chance leads you to the very best place. And that was definitely Gasthaus Feuerkugel! We felt welcome from the very first moment. The staff is incredibly warm and attentive, and you immediately sense that the people here truly enjoy their work. This positive atmosphere carries over into the entire evening and makes the culinary experience perfect. The very authentic Erfurt food was an absolute delight – prepared with love and flavorful to perfection. Looking back, it was the best decision we ever made for dinner in Erfurt. A clear recommendation – we'll definitely be back!

Unfortunately, we were immediately turned away. There would have been plenty of room. Inexplicable. But there was an alternative, and it wasn't far away. So we went straight to the Christophel.

Very friendly and communicative service. The Thuringian beef roulade had very firm meat and seemed more like it came from an ox than a tender beef. There was no bread in the Thuringian dumplings.

This restaurant was recommended to me by a local. I had the beef roulade with two Thuringian dumplings. The food was delicious, but I've never had such a firm beef roulade in my life. I had to struggle with my knife and fork. I had to hunt for the crumbs in the dumpling, but I managed to find one. So for €24.80, the portion is definitely too small and the quality is too poor. Since the change of ownership, this restaurant has unfortunately become unusable. What a shame :(

The Feuerkugel was recommended to us by a very nice elderly woman from Erfurt. We sat at a table in the pedestrian zone and had a very friendly, courteous, and cheerful waiter. The food was, as the elderly lady described, very good. The black beer-flavored beef with beans and the beef roulades with excellent red cabbage, each served with the best Thuringian potato dumplings we've ever had. The espresso that followed was also delicious, which is unfortunately not something we experience every day. So, if we're ever back in beautiful Erfurt, we'll definitely stop here again.

I don't think I've ever had such good potato dumplings and apple red cabbage. To drink, we had watercress juice spritzer, which was also very good. All in all, I definitely recommend it!

The place was empty, but they acted as if everything was fully booked. (The computer said "NO," and Mike did it for them.) This procedure was followed for all inquiring customers, but they always found a table for 1.5 hours. There were no reserved tables. The roast chicken was dry and more like it came from a fan oven. The side salad was good. The hash browns came from the hairdryer or frozen in a pan. Don't try this fake again.
