Gasthaus Feuerkugel in Erfurt

The food was good, but not outstanding. The sauerbraten was a bit tough, but the dumplings were good. The prices were still reasonable. The ambiance was very nice.

The food didn't live up to expectations at all. Beef roulades were partly burnt and rock hard. Red cabbage was very mushy, lacking structure. Dumplings weren't cooked through... This is never good local cuisine. The good thing: the server was very professional and friendly. The food was returned and re-arranged. It didn't really improve. A shame...

The place was empty, but they acted as if everything was fully booked. (The computer said "NO," and Mike did it for them.) This procedure was followed for all inquiring customers, but they always found a table for 1.5 hours. There were no reserved tables. The roast chicken was dry and more like it came from a fan oven. The side salad was good. The hash browns came from the hairdryer or frozen in a pan. Don't try this fake again.

We visited the Feuerkugel and were very impressed and satisfied. The food was delicious, and the staff was very friendly. The food was plentiful and freshly prepared. We were very satisfied and, above all, full.

A truly wonderful restaurant with super friendly and welcoming service. It has a quaint and very inviting feel, and the food is simply top-notch. Just as you'd imagine and expect, because as soon as you enter the restaurant, the wonderful aroma of good food wafts in. And you won't be disappointed! I'll be happy to come back.

A very nice location, especially for enjoying Thuringian cuisine. The Thuringian dumplings with roulades or with sauerbraten and red cabbage are excellent, and additional sauce is served immediately. Excellent service with a sense of humor. 😊 The perfect dumplings at Grandma Käthe's would be made entirely of raw potatoes, which would probably be too expensive. A very nice and quiet outdoor area.

Very nice atmosphere, super friendly waitresses, delicious, freshly prepared food. My husband had Thuringian beef roulade with red cabbage and dumplings. How can I offer first-class service, prepare an absolutely delicious meal, and put a smile on the customer's face? Gasthaus Feuerkugel: YES! I had dinner here spontaneously and was enveloped by the hearty charm of the beer garden. It's windless and absolutely pleasant, even at temperatures of 12 degrees. The service was anything but first-class! Although it was quite busy, there was a genuine and friendly smile upon entering the restaurant, not a hint of stress! Fast service wasn't the only positive thing, but rather the waitress's courteous willingness to go outside and get cigarettes for me at her own suggestion! I've never experienced anything like that before, after I asked if cigarettes could be purchased inside. (There is no vending machine in the restaurant.) The whole thing was topped off with a first-class portion of "Thuringian Sauerbraten"! I assumed Grandma's Sauerbraten could never be topped, but I was wrong! Wonderfully tender meat and Thuringian dumplings that melted in your mouth, rounded off with wonderfully prepared red cabbage, WOW! If I could, I'd give this place 12 out of 5 stars!! I'd go back anytime, and a big thank you to everyone!

Today we were in Erfurt to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary with a delicious meal. The service was excellent, very attentive, and there was always a pleasant conversation. Unfortunately, since we don't live nearby, we won't be dining there again anytime soon. It's a shame. I hope many people follow my review and get to enjoy one of the dishes at "Feuerkugel." I didn't take any photos of the dessert, but it was delicious.

Great restaurant with delicious food

Visually, the restaurant is great. Clean, the staff is very attentive, friendly, and at times, even cheeky in their service. The food was beautifully presented. Unfortunately, it was a big minus point because the look was more promising than the taste. The interior was very loud when it was full. At a table of six, it was difficult to have a conversation because of the overall noise. You can sit quietly in the back, under cover, and there are also a few tables outside. Otherwise, I can recommend it. Recommendable with some minor reservations.

Were there for lunch on Sunday. The inn is rustic but already furnished. You will immediately be greeted in a friendly manner by the staff and shown to your seat. The food was very tasty and freshly cooked. The potato röstis are homemade and the salad dressing was also made in-house I can only recommend the restaurant

Good German cuisine is hard to find, but Feuerkugel was really very good. We were there as a company with a small team and the food was delicious and the service was super nice. I just found the prices to be quite high, which is why I would like to give it 4.5 stars, but that's not possible. Otherwise, the shop is perfect for eating out as a couple or small team if you're hungry for schnitzel or Thuringian cuisine.

Even though we personally found it a little noisy, it was still an overall successful visit. What stands out, in addition to the very good food, is the highly friendly service! 🫶

Wir waren zu dritt zum Mittagessen dort. Wir hatten nicht reserviert. Das Essen, die Bedienung sowie das Ambiente waren top. Die niedrigen Preise für Kinderessen als auch deren Auswahl suchen ihresgleichen.

Very nice restaurant right by Krämerbrücke. We ate Winterroulade. The meat was a little dry. I wouldn’t have said anything if the food would have been around 15€ but we paid 25€ per dish and than you expect everything to be top notch. Otherwise Service was great we had a young men as our server and he was top notch. He is the reason why it’s still 5 stars - so let him know he is doing an awesome job!

Platzanweiser wie zu schlimmsten DDR Zeiten. „Sie können sich neben die Eingangstür setzen oder an einen Katzentisch.“. Diskussion zwecklos, Kellner ist König, Kunde kann wieder gehen. Die eigenen Bedienungen schauen mitleidig.

Meat was very dry e.g. Schwarzbierbraten was not a roast but dry goulash Sauerbraten, dry and deer meat, very dry with three slices of bread dumplings. Very disappointed with the food. Check the calculation the guest will not come back!!!

See a classy, ​​beautiful restaurant. Were there on a Thursday evening. The restaurant was almost full but we were able to get a seat after waiting a bit. The service was good and we also got new sauce for our goose dinner free of charge. We paid 25 euros for it which is absolutely ok. In my opinion, there could have been a little more meat, but the side dishes were also good. Overall, the visit was really worth it and I would come back in a heartbeat.

We had a very good, solid, homely meal at Feuerkugel. There was absolute Christmas hustle and bustle outside, inside there was peace and quiet and delicious food with friendly service. There was even a large extra portion of sauce for the buttery roulades.

Today we had dinner at the Feuerkugel inn. Classic inn ambience and traditional Thuringian dishes. We had roulade, goose breast and duck leg - each excellent and great sauces. Side dishes were also great and individual side dishes were made for our son. Very friendly staff and good price. Very good.

Der Restaurantleiter sollte etwas freundlicher sein und nicht an der Theke stehen und Kaugummi kauen. Die Preise sind schon aus dem oberen Regal.

It was great, the roulade was nice with cucumber and meat (meat was new to me, but it's good), delicious dumplings and you can order as much sauce as you want. The wild herb soup as a starter was excellent. We had a great time here, period. :-)

Leider sehr enttäuschend. Wir hatten keine Reservierung. Vor Ort bekamen wir die Information, dass wir den nächsten freien Tisch ( in ca 30 Minuten) bekommen könnten. Wir sagten dies zu. Als wir nach 25 Minuten zurück kehrten, hatte man den Tisch unmittelbar zuvor an andere Besucher vergeben. Wir wurden mit dem Kommentar "abgefertigt ", dass sich die Situation nun geändert habe.

Today we were at the Feuerkugel inn. And what can I say... it was awesome! Actually only chosen as an emergency choice, it was the best decision to eat there! The staff was super friendly, accommodating, funny and great. The food, we had beef roulade and sauerbraten, each with red cabbage and Thuringian dumplings, was worth every bite. Super tender and delicious. All in all it was a very successful evening and visit there! Highly recommended!
