There's plenty of seating both inside and in the beautiful beer garden behind the restaurant. Their specialties include truly delicious Thuringian dumplings and, of course, the famous bratwurst of the same name. The service is very friendly, prompt, and attentive. The prices are reasonable, making this restaurant highly recommended for a visit to Erfurt.

It's Monday lunchtime and I want something to eat and drink in the beer garden. As I walk in I see a sign: "Open despite construction." Since there is no noise, I decide to stay. All of the approximately 25 tables are free, but reserved. I ask the waitress I passed if there are any free tables. Answer: I can seat you. Me: Yes, please. She: Choose a seat. Me: Thank you. And I walk towards a table at the side. She follows behind me: But that table is for four people. Take the one over there for two. What's that all about? I'm going to the Vietnamese snack bar around the corner now. They're happy to have their customers there and give you a warm welcome, even if you sit down alone at a table for four. If I'm not welcomed alone, I certainly won't bring my family and friends there.

Sorry, that's not possible. We really would have loved to eat here. We requested a table reservation via WhatsApp and were told they were fully booked until 8:00 PM. We asked if we could come at 8:15 PM or if that would be too late for the kitchen. No response. We then asked on site if we could still make a reservation for today, but unfortunately, it wasn't possible; they told us to check later to see if there was availability. So later, I asked spontaneously (= for the 4th time), and was told that the last table had just been taken for a walk-in reservation. So why couldn't I make a reservation 1.5 hours in advance? Conclusion: Service isn't a priority here; in my opinion, it's apparently not necessary. It's good that Erfurt also has restaurants with a more service-oriented approach. Never again!

We sat for lunch in the courtyard, a lovely spot beneath a large chestnut tree. The service was fantastic. The lady was incredibly busy and remained so calm, friendly, professional, simply lovely. The food: classic bratwurst with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes. Bratwurst: great, sauerkraut: good, the mashed potatoes—I should have said it came from a packet. This may be unfair, but it simply wasn't tasty. Therefore, the food 'only' gets 4 points. We'll be back.

We sat in the front area near the bar and the entrance. The ambiance here is very nice. Tasteful decor and not too loud. The staff is very friendly, and the food is extremely delicious. The portions are generous.

Weather permitting, I'm here in the beer garden almost every Wednesday. It's located in the heart of the city, yet somewhat secluded from the hustle and bustle. The Köstritzer beer is always delicious, and the food is freshly prepared and extremely tasty. There are a few beer gardens in Erfurt, but none are as intimate as this one.

Very nice atmosphere of a renovated old house. However, food was standard. The dishes we had were overpriced for what we had. Bratkartoffeln were too dark. And a suggestion for the staff: do not clean tables with a cloth that has the mouldy smell. It leaves the smell on the table, which is not pleasant, specially when eating.

We wanted to eat typical German/Thuringian cuisine, and we were definitely not disappointed here. We had the dumplings with red and liver sausage filling and the Thuringian plate. Both dishes were simply fantastic! The service was also very polite, warm, and attentive, and we were seated in a beautiful dining room. Everything was perfect :-)

Absolutely, the beer garden is great and everything is ready for the season. Dumplings with gravy and the other small delicacies, between €2.50 and €6.00, are top-notch in terms of taste and value. It's also in the middle of town and still quiet at the moment. Don't worry, there's plenty of space.
