recommended! We came to the restaurant by chance in a quick search of restaurants in the area after two restaurants we wanted were closed. We didn't expect much from a restaurant located in a shopping center and we were pleasantly surprised, a beautiful restaurant also has a large outdoor seating area, excellent traditional Bavarian food! All the dishes we ordered were excellent! A nice and kind waiter who even made sure that the Kaiserschmaren dessert was prepared for us without nuts due to an allergy. We had a lot of fun!

Endless rip-off, 0.5 beer €6 A coffee 5€ And when there are trade fairs, prices are still expensive! Rip-off fraud theft!!!!

We often went out to eat here with the company (which is nearby), whether it was a lunch break or a company event. I was actually always very satisfied, so I also ate here on a private occasion and was unfortunately very disappointed. Even though we were seen, we were not greeted and ignored for a while. Even when I was able to wave to one of the waiters, it took forever for someone to come. It was very busy that day, I understand that, but guests who arrived later than us were served sooner. I find it very poorly organized. In general, I think there aren't enough waiters for a store of this size. The waiters who served us were very friendly. Unfortunately the food was very poor and was far too greasy. The dark beer sauce had a real edge of fat, which was different in the past. However, the roast pork and schnitzel were good. As we left and shouted goodbye to another waiter (who I had previously waved to), he just looked at me in shock and turned away. Very unfriendly. All in all, it's a shame, we probably won't eat here as often with the company anymore... not at all in private.

really rude staff, exaggerated prices for a water €8.50, terrible service: we wanted to ask for information on the menu before sitting down but they rudely told us to sit down, the tables were all dirty, we sat down anyway they immediately asked us if we wanted to order drinks but our tables were still dirty and the waiter placed our (dirty) glasses and water on the waste left previously and when we asked to clean the table the waiter did it rudely even imitating our accent . We decided to leave early having drunk only one water out of two orders but they wanted to make us pay for the closed and unused one too. Very bad experience.

We received an awful treatment: the staff have an extremely arrogant attitude. First of all we have been seated at a dirty table, dirty menus and after our request to clean it the waiter answered very annoyed and proceed to clean with a cloth so wet that splashed everyone at the table. We thought patiently maybe it was a bad day for the staff, it can happen. But after 20 minutes waiting for someone to take our order we decided to leave, of course after paying one of the water bottles we had on the table. Initially they tried to scam us: 20€ for two water bottle (8,5€ each on the menu) which one is unopened. It started an heated argument because it's not fair to expect us to pay for a thing that is not opened and, only after the discussion they unhappily took payment for one bottle.

First of all THE STAFF IS EXTREMELY RUDE. We asked to see an English version of the menu and they gave us already a pissed off look. When we sat down he served us water on a still dirty table of the customers before us, he did not intend to clean it we had to ask for it. Very unprofessional. We ordered two waters and opened just one, we wanted to leave at that point and pay for that one water that we opened. Water is 8.50 € one bottle its a scam. They argued we can’t give back the unopened water. They wanted us to pay 20€ for drinking a bottle of water!!! The manager instead of resolving the problem he decided was more important correct our English pronunciation (Im British) Definitely a tourist scam attitude, ABSOLUTELY STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!

This was the worst experience ever. As soon as we arrived, before sitting, we asked for the english menu and they told us that we had to sit for that. (Ok…?) We sat and he asked us for drinks before giving us the menu, we ordered 2 waters. The table was a complete mess and we had to ask for it to be cleand since he brought us the waters without cleaning it. Once the menu arrived we noticed that we didn’t like the food so we kindly asked to pay for 1 water (since the other one was CLOSED) and go. They said it was 19 euros for 2 waters (apparently water, which is the only thing that it’s written in german on the menu, costs 8.50€) First of all 8.50 x 2 makes 17€ so we don’t understand where the 2 extra euros came from, secondly the told us that we HAD to pay for the unopened bottle since they brought it to us… non even gonna comment on that. We said that we were only gonna pay for what we consumed and the waiter started screaming at us and getting closer and closer to us. Who we think was the manager told us that he was going to do us a favor by not letting us pay for the unopened bottle (thank you what a gentleman) and then he tried to correct our english (which was perfect since of us is from UK). But even if it wasn’t perfect who do you think you are to do that? We literally stormed out of the store, we hope nobody will set foot in this place again. Please avoid it.

I wanted to drink and eat. I waited two minutes standing so as not to be alone, but no one came. I sat down and waited for 20 minutes, waving at the waiter. I ended up going to the counter to ask for a beer, I was asked to wait outside. I signaled again to the waiter who told me to wait. I left.

Disaster. We sat outside and just wanted to have a quick drink. We waited a whopping 20 minutes for a beer and a Hugo (which then arrived without mint). There was almost nothing going on, the staff were nice but overwhelmed. We can't say anything about the food, but what we can judge was off. Especially in the trade fair area, such a "brewery restaurant" should actually be a figurehead and advertisement for Bavarian pub culture for the many international visitors. But that was nothing. Very unfortunate.

We were there before the Adele concert. Great location, but not exactly cheap. But the performance is right.. great interior in retro style in the new building.. fake but nice

I have rarely experienced such boldness! Calling yourself King Ludwig is a disgrace. The roast pork was dry, the sauce was salty and watery. Hair was in one of the two dishes. The Jägerschnitzel had a water sauce with burnt mushrooms. The spaetzle was so dry that it almost stuck in my throat. Don't even get me started on the service! Once and never again!

I was there for a diner after a meeting with 2 colleagues. After ordering drinks we have wait 30 min to order our meals and then they did not arrived at the same time?! One of my colleague finished to eat when we started...Despite the fact that food was good, service was a disaster. We try to reorder drinks several time but no one came and we need to move directly to the people to get registered. Last by not least, when we decided to pay we asked to split bill and due to this we had to wait 20 minutes... Seems to be to complicate and finally one of my colleague pay the entire bill to solve the situation. So if you go there you will find good food but don't be hurry and don't expect high quality service!

Food good so far. I had a Jägerschnitzel with champion cream sauce. The sauce wasn't quite to my taste. Roast pork and spaetzle looked delicious. Beautiful restaurant, especially the candlesticks 😍

Classic tourist rip-off. The food itself tastes good - it would only be nice if it were served warm and friendly 😜 Well - if the food was too cold, the beer was too warm 👍🏻 and we were probably just there at the wrong time to find friendly and motivated service... Schnitzel with fries 17.50 - okay, but very lightly fried and after repeated requests there was ketchup shortly before we were finished... Roast pork with dumpling 17.50 - meat tender and well seasoned, but unfortunately like everything else, only lukewarm. The dumpling tasted like it was from the day before...

Actually a nice place, but unfortunately the food was cold and the beer was only moderately poured. Probably a tourist rip-off, as is the service. They probably know that people won't come back a second time... I wouldn't recommend the place

The service was a bit slow. At least you expect the drinks 10 minutes after ordering. It wasn't full.

Should have read the reviews first. Roast pork and dumplings were cold. The waiter said the food was warm when it was served. There were globules of fat on the meat, which indicates that the meat was warm. Returned to warm up, received cold food again after 20 minutes, interestingly enough, on a warm plate. Returned after three bites, the waiter still charged for the meal. Never again

Roast pork for 17.50 without any side dishes! Dumplings taste like semolina dumplings. Not enough crust, portion of meat good, but taste grade 3.5. Sauce was very thin, adding extra sauce didn't help. Salt in the salt shaker wet! Pepper and salt shakers of different sizes! Menus worn out. Female waitress professional and friendly. Specially open on Sunday during the trade fair!

Wiener Schnitzel tasted very good and was huge. The potato and cucumber salad was also great. Service took a little longer (it was also a little busier). Unfortunately, Flammkuchen was already empty that day (we were there between 5:30 and 6 p.m.)

We reserved our team dinner reserved there for 70 ppl and they treated us horribly it took 2hrs to get to them attend us with 1 beers. When we came to the bar to order, they told us to go sit down. The waiters was rude and the food took a very long time. The food was mediocre at best, there were only 2 types of beers on tap, and the pretzel was boiled. We could’ve spent a bunch there, but they basically refused us and we had the worst team dinner across the continents

Food ok, large portion, service nice but not super fast. Prices are quite steep, but the location right next to the trade fair allows it.

What can I say? We had the sausage salad and the boiled beef. The marinade in the sausage salad was incredibly sweet, in a way that it shouldn't be. At least I don't know of any sausage salad dressing that has ever been this sweet. The side dish for the boiled beef, the boiled potatoes, were completely overcooked. On the day in question, the European Championship was between Germany and Hungary, and it seemed as if the bar was having problems with the beer. The beer was a disaster. It tasted stale and inedible, was at room temperature and had no carbon dioxide whatsoever - just disappointing. The service could definitely be improved. It took a while before we could order anything, and reorders were also slow.

They didnt serve food for 2.5hours and the beer was poured from one glass to ten glasses. The attitude of the waiters were horrible.

We had to wait a VERY very long time until we could place our order. The food was edible, but completely without any vegetables on the side. The waiters were very unhappy too. And then nobody came for us to pay for more than half an hour. I will not go there again.

Probably the most unpleaseant staff ever. Waiting time for anything is ~1.5 hours. Worst expwrience we ever had. Staff was literally ignoring and insulting everyone froum our huge group.

It tooks 2 houra to get 1 beer. Schnizel was boiled not cooked. Waitres change the order and later mixed it. If you want to have an awful evening it is a great place to start it !!!

The servise is terrible. In 2 hours got 1 beer, a bit of snacks and still waiting for ordered food (needed to change the order because after 30min pf ordering it appeared they ran out of the one I’e ordered). If you have a HALF DAY for 2 beers and the main dish - go there. schnitzel was boiled, not cooked

Service is beyond slow. Waited more than an hour for the first beer. Haven’t received a 2nd one in two hours. There’re a few people waiting the tables and the restaurant is fully booked, management is very poor. We ordered steaks and two hours later they let us know they don’t have it anymore. Snacks were not bad though…

The menu is far too small for a Bavarian restaurant. And then cheese spaetzle with ready-made fried onions. The rest of the taste was just fine... It was better there.

Very nice Bavarian atmosphere. The service was very nice. Unfortunately, one point deducted for the food and especially the sausage salad. This was more of an onion salad.

We took a lot of extra driving time because everywhere (Google, Apple Maps, website) said it was open. But it wasn't. You should be able to post opening times reliably online by 2024.

Completely overpriced for such small portions

This is how I imagine a Bavarian restaurant, very pleasant. The beer is very tasty. I have tried all the schnitzels and can recommend them all. Most recently I tested the zander fillet with the beetroot barley risotto. This is really only recommended. As is usual in Munich, the prices are relatively high, but the quality of the food also justifies these prices. The waitresses are all very accommodating and very nice. If I'm in Munich again I'll definitely stop by again.

We were there with 10 people and everything worked out. Classic Bavarian restaurant with good Bavarian food, exactly what you expect. The salad lacks a bit of pizzazz or should be prepared differently; it is difficult to eat or stir in a mason jar.

When there are trade fairs it can be difficult to get one in the evening. That did not please me. You are then only offered a “cat table” in the entrance area. A friendly waiter offered me a decent place to eat. The service at my place was very friendly and accommodating. The food, for me it was roast pork with dark beer sauce, was very good.

“Describe your impression on site”, ha well then… The ambience is typically Bavarian, fits... But that's the only thing besides the beer... The waiters are either eager to get you to write a review on Google or chew gum like a cow in the pasture… Really, everyone can tell me what they want, but on the menu it says that there are white sausages, “but only until 12 o’clock” (which it doesn’t say) where do we live? In the Middle Ages...! We have refrigerators these days, what's your problem... When I gave this information “until 12 p.m. only”, I was made aware that I could leave a review on Google… Ha, here we are...

Ok, it is very crowded during the trade fair and you should make a reservation, but the typical Bavarian food and of course the original Bavarian beer are still very tasty and the waitresses are always friendly. Prices are absolutely fair and appropriate for the food and the ambience. We always enjoy coming back when we are in Munich for the trade fair.

Ladies toilet very bad. 3 toilets out of 3 no paper. Despite our warnings, no changes were made. Toilet door not lockable. Only 1 of 3 hand basins can be used. Because no water.

We visited this restaurant after the trade show in the Messe. We made the reservation one day earlier and I would suggest to do the same (at least during the trade show days). The service was good and attentive. Drinks arrived quickly and we waited a bit longer for the food. I don't mind waiting for the food, as I prefer to wait and have the food done right, instead have it rushed and eat crappy, reheated food. This was exactly the case as the food was really good and worth the wait. For the started we had homemade obatza which was creamy and served with delicious fresh, dark bread. For the main course we had wiener schnitzel with cranberry sauce and potato/cucumber salad (great combination), schnitzel hunter style which was served with mushrooms and spaetzle (must try) which was very creamy and butterly. Third dish was boiled beef which was tender and served with beef broth. It was served with boiled half-potatoes, which is a perfect combination to a broth. We finished the evening with their local beer which was also good. If you like the food done right and won't whine about the preparation time, I highly recommend this place 😉👌

Staff didn't always seem very accommodating or friendly. Oh, the fact that this is regularly the case is difficult to judge individually. Regarding food: the schnitzel in particular lacks sauce, which unfortunately makes it extremely dry... Drinks, like everywhere else, have unfortunately become very expensive.

I recently ordered a Viennese style schnitzel...it's very bold to serve such a small portion, I couldn't believe it, even a children's plate is usually larger, the meat was extremely thin, maybe 2mm, I don't normally write reviews, just in this case I couldn't resist it!!..you go out hungry again

I spontaneously went to König Ludwig today and can't say anything bad. The reception and greeting were friendly and my order was taken after a few moments. The beer was at the table immediately and the food (roast pork) didn't take long to arrive. I was really surprised at how fast the service and the kitchen was. The roast was juicy and the crust was really crispy. The portion was also very rich. I paid around €23, which I think is really cheap for a large portion and a 0.5l beer.

Nice restaurant: Bavarian atmosphere in the Riem arcades. Decent quality food, fast and friendly service.

Mala experiencia hemos ido 3 veces 2 días a las 21:30 y hoy a las 20:45 los 3 días no han querido atendernos , no entendemos que no sea por puro racismo , somos gente que hemos venido a trabajar y solo queríamos cenar tranquilamente , la propiedad debería mirar que hacen sus trabajadores por que me parece una vergüenza que sucedan estas cosas , lo recomendaba a todo el mundo , desde hoy no lo volveré a recomendar

Sehr schön eingerichtetes Lokal und sehr freundlicher Service. Essen (Kässpätzle mit Salat) war lecker

Man muss viel Zeit mitbringen, weil es lange dauert, bis man beachtet wird, auch wenn wenig los ist. Wird man beachtet, ist die Bedienung sehr freundlich. Das Lokal ist sehr gemütlich und man merkt nicht viel vom Trubel der Riem Arcaden. Ist auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert.

Essen war ausgezeichnet, genügend Platz und nicht so hektisch und übervoll wie an anderen Stellen in den Arkaden.

Really nice classic Bavarian restaurant for a quick lunch or a snack while shopping or having meetings in the area. We were 4 guests. Food came really quick, and we had a really attentive server who circled back to our table multiple times. Food was great.
