König Ludwig an der Messe in München

Simply always good 😉 We live practically around the corner and really enjoy eating here... The service is good, the food is good, and the beer is very good too. 😉 It's also lovely in the summer, since you can sit outside 😊 I can highly recommend it 😉 The €20-30 per person is due to the extra beer or two you enjoy 😂

The quality of the food was disappointing; three of the dishes ordered were unacceptable: the roast was too cold, the potatoes too hard, the horseradish was missing from the plate, and the breaded, aged schnitzel was presented as a hunter's schnitzel. The sauce was an abomination, and considering the high prices, I can only advise against ordering from them.

The service was very friendly and attentive. We were also asked if everything was alright, which isn't always the case. They have a delicious lunch menu with good value for money. We'll definitely come back!

Great atmosphere, but very expensive

Happen to pass by the place after the Messe, and we were hungry, so the place was best candidate nearby. The food was good, the beer was OK, the design of the place is classy. Prices are as high as everywhere nowadays.

Everything was perfect! We had Wiener Schnitzel and roast pork. Both were delicious. The service was also very friendly!

So, that was definitely the last time we ate there. Soup: Carrot and ginger cream soup... thin swill with no consistency or taste, priced over 8 euros. Redfish with potato salad... any snack would have more flavor. The absolute worst: Wiener schnitzel... pre-made schnitzel... breading, unidentifiable, raw fries. Sorry, it's an outrage to serve something like that to a guest!

At the trade fair, a shop like that seems to be a guaranteed success. They don't seem to care about anything there.

I only had the Spaetzle, It exceeded expectation given that this restaurant is in a shopping mall/train station area. I wouldn't say it is a destination place, but very solid if you are near Messe Munchen.

Whenever we're in the Riem Arcades, a visit here is always a must.

Our drink order wasn't taken until 30 minutes later, even though several tables were empty. When our food finally arrived, it wasn't very hot and the fries were undercooked. The service was completely overwhelmed, and there was dirty crockery everywhere. Some people left because they weren't served for so long. It's a real shame; we used to love coming here.

Overall, the food was very good. The broth was a bit bland, and the pumpkin soup couldn't be rated as they were out. The schnitzel was superb – nicely wavy, freshly breaded, and the roast pork was excellent – ​​juicy with a fantastic crackling. The service was a bit disorganized; they were still in a good-morning mood. The drinks arrived five minutes after the soup.

Roast pork seasoned with Maggi I waited forever for service and the food, and despite the ostentatious presentation, it was truly disappointing.

I'm giving one star just because it's not possible to give none at all. From the moment we walked in, the service was completely unfriendly and aggressive. Both waiters seemed very stressed, even though the restaurant wasn't full. I don't know if it was because of our background, but it felt that way. There were 10 of us, and he sarcastically asked if we needed a table for tomorrow starting at 10 a.m. When I replied that we were there to eat today and asked if the kitchen was still open, he just said, "Okay, you'll have to wait." Then he offered us a table for only eight people, even though I clearly stated that we only needed 10. When we sat down somewhere (people we knew were already sitting there), he came back less than two minutes later and told us we had to hurry ("quick, quick"), even though we had neither seats nor menus. He then made further racist remarks to my colleague, at which point we naturally got up and left. We just wanted a good, relaxed meal after a very long day at work. It was 8:30 p.m., just for your information.

It was our first time there and we were very pleased with the food. The service was very friendly and attentive... It's a shame ☹️ we can't continue. They should hire a new chef, otherwise I can see the place closing soon.

We returned to König Ludwigs after two years – unfortunately, the quality has deteriorated significantly. The food was served cold, the flavor was rather bland, and the service seemed rather disorganized. We ordered a schnitzel, but ten minutes later, spaetzle arrived – something must be wrong in the kitchen. The location is still great, but the prices are now quite high. It's a shame, as the food and service here used to be much better.

I rarely write reviews, but I thought I would. I arrived at night and dropped into this nearby restaurant. To begin with, the staff don't do their job! They don't come to take our order, they don't come even though it wasn't that busy, they really don't come, they have no motivation, and in the end they're like they're making fun of us and telling us off with their noses. This doesn't even deserve a 1 star rating. I didn't even order anything, I just crumpled up the menu and left, so I don't know what the food tastes like. I'd rather go to McDonald's than this place.

The only good is their location

We had such a wonderful experience here! The service was incredibly welcoming and kind from the very first moment. The staff gave us great advice about the food and local specialties, and even shared some helpful tips and tricks for enjoying Oktoberfest. The food itself was absolutely delicious, with portions that were generous (as one might expect in Germany), yet still pleasantly surprising. All in all, this place truly won us over — warm atmosphere, fantastic food, and outstanding hospitality. We wholeheartedly recommend it

The schnitzel was very tasty, as was the potato/cucumber salad.

Prices were raised massively during the IAA and the beginning of Oktoberfest! A veal schnitzel cost twice as much as usual! €35! And it's not even organic meat... Rip-off!

Limited menu, but good if you like Bavarian food and beers...

I've been there several times now and am always disappointed by the service and even more so by the food. Some of the food arrives cold... no wonder, since the plates are also very cold, which cools the food even faster. The salads are absolutely unloved, and everything else is fresh and appealing. The only downside is that, because of the trade fair, we have a lot of foreign business guests who think they'll find authentic Bavarian cuisine here... very embarrassing! And the prices are "Wies'n prices"... and completely unjustified. Definitely no praise for the kitchen or management.

Disastrous for business group bookings. Although I was there in person 14 days ago to discuss a group booking for September, I've been waiting for a call back or email from management ever since. I've followed up several times by phone – to no avail. The on-site staff were very friendly, but they're not allowed to comment on this. All in all, extremely unprofessional at the management level – absolutely not recommended for business bookings during trade fairs, as they are completely unreliable.

The service was so perfect and friendly. They even prepared a children's dish (splätzle with sauce and butter of your choice) for us. It's also much quieter here than the food court across the street. The drinks were also good, so we would go back anytime. Definitely recommend it!

We were back in Munich for a few days and were looking forward to a visit to König Ludwig. We were last here in 2021 and were thrilled. This time, however, we were very disappointed. Upon entering the beer garden, we noticed that it was very unkempt. Weeds were everywhere, and some of the planters were dried out. Service was quick, but it was also very quiet. I had roast pork with dark beer sauce and bread dumplings. The dumplings were totally bland and flavorless; they could have used a bit more salt, as could the sauce. The meat was good. My wife had an Obazte (traditional German sausage) with bread, which was okay, but significantly less than on our last visit. Around 9:00, we wanted to order dessert. The waiter told us the kitchen was already closed, even though they were supposed to serve hot meals until 10:00. We also saw other guests leaving because there was nothing left to eat. It's a shame, but we won't go there anymore.

The venue is easily accessible by metro, very close to the Messe, and quite convenient for lunch and dinner when working in the park. The interior ambiance is typically Bavarian, and it really has a lot of charm.

The food was standard, the setting a bit too traditional Bavarian...but maybe tourists love that, after all, the restaurant is close to the trade fair.

Unfortunately, I only come to the fair every two years, but a visit to King Ludwig's at the fair is always a must. The staff is super friendly, even when the place is on fire, and the atmosphere is simply unique.

We had a group dinner for 25 people during the intersolar event at 9th May. The food is nice but they forget to give me the receipt 🧾 after i paid the around 1500 euro bill. I went to the restaurant next day and asked for it. They told me to send request through email. I did, they read my email but never reply. I send email for a few times in last weeks but they just ignored me. I called, someone picked up but said no English. I really frustrated 😩 . The service is horrible. Really need someone help me out. updated：finally, the restaurant send me the receipt after I posed review.

If I could give zero, I would. Especially for the rudeness of the waiters... Rude and not very empathetic, disorganized and not very attentive to the customer. I'll start by saying that I'm used to traveling and understanding the habits of other cultures, but in a Western reality I don't expect it. Also because all my other experiences here have been super positive. They served me the wrong dish, even though I not only indicated it on the menu, but since I speak fluent English, it's not possible that they didn't understand. I strolled into the arcades after visiting the trade fair. Among many other restaurants on the food mile, this one caught my eye and I also wanted to eat something rustic. I ordered Jägerschnitzel, the meat was good, but breaded (?), and the portion was large. Still tasted good. Unfortunately there was a large group of Chinese people on site, so service was a little difficult. But I'll definitely come back.

Place close to the expo, staff accustomed to customer turnover. They confuse orders and are not interested in the customer but in the pace of work. When we noticed that they served the wrong version of schnitzel, the waiter shrugged his shoulders and said they didn't have mushrooms and left.

The service, like in most mid-level/cheque restaurants in Europe, is weak. No steps towards the client. It’s blowing in the back - we can’t do anything - and the hall is empty. They may forget the ordered dish and pick up the menu before ordering.

The food was good but unfortunately what we actually wanted to eat was no longer available. But I think it was because of the time when we came to the store. Service for the drinks took a little long because there were relatively few people there. In addition, there apparently was no agreement between the drinks dispenser and the service force. When asked, she simply replied “I don’t know.” The other waiter was very helpful and also very quick.

First the positive: the food was good. But fair prices are ok. There was a misunderstanding with the waitress when taking the order - but this was resolved after a brief disagreement. So it's not that bad. At least that's what we assumed. After dinner, we were suddenly checked in by another employee without asking and very briskly pointed out that his colleague was crying the whole time and was only 15 years old (at 10:15 p.m.?!)... we were said goodbye with the words “not coming anymore”. I got a beer myself at the bar and had to pay €6.20 for it even though the beer was advertised as €4.90. I wasn't informed of this beforehand. Service was very unfriendly and said it was the self-service surcharge. So you pay extra so that they have less work🤷🏻‍♂️

How could it be otherwise for a restaurant at the trade fair, the prices are a little higher, but that is completely normal in such a location. I've been there three times now with different dishes and unfortunately I've always been disappointed. The sausage salad was a mixture of vinegar and the rest, the schnitzel was a bit dry and recently the currywurst was burnt and the fries were very dry. The service ranged from great to I don't want you all with me.

Here the waiters rush in unison to serve all the guests with drinks and food. The schnitzel with fries + 1 piece of lemon for 18.90 euros was snack level or dry fries and the bland schnitzel was as thick as the breading, 4 mm would be exaggerated. Too bad, once and never again!

King Ludwig at the trade fair – a real Munich experience! Today I was at König Ludwig at the trade fair in Munich and embarked on a culinary journey that I won't soon forget. The bratwursts with sauerkraut were simply amazing – juicy, spicy and perfectly grilled. There was also a freshly tapped light beer that tasted like liquid gold. Simply great! The atmosphere is rustic and cozy, typically Bavarian. The staff was super friendly and really made an effort to make me feel comfortable. Everything was clean and well organized even though it was busy.

6.40 euros for 0.5 liters of Dark King Ludwig beer, you have to let it melt in your mouth. That's 128 euros for one piece. And then the owner probably wonders why there is always so little going on there. One can only hope that a new tenant will come along soon with a better concept. The location and the location would give more.....

A German restaurant located in a shopping mall near Messe Munich. Please be careful as the store staff may not notice! For meals, you can enjoy traditional German cuisine, but be careful, especially the fried foods, as they are very filling. The portion may be quite large for Japanese people, so please keep an eye on it before eating. It looks like it would be good to share and eat as appropriate. There are several types of beer, so it's nice that you can choose the flavor according to your preference. Non-alcoholic beer is also delicious.

We were a larger group. Positive: the ambience and the food was really delicious. Negative: the table planning by the employees, we ourselves were forced to change the table for a smaller group. Four men at the neighboring table moved three times in the evening and two other guests had their plates pulled away and moved while they were eating their food. That doesn't work at all.

Please make an effort and work on it or get someone to properly train the staff.
