Wie immer alles bestens! Wir kommen schon viel Jahre ins Knossos und wurden noch nie enttäuscht. Wer frische und schmackhafte Fischgerichte mag kommt ins Knossos!

Traumhafter Ort direkt an der Lahn, sehr gutes griechisches Essen & prompter, sehr aufmerksamer Service. Einzig der Geräuschpegel könnte niedriger sein.

Wir sind jede Woche im Knossos und wir lieben es dort. Location ist sehr schön. Das Essen ist sehr lecker, das Personal ist unglaublich freundlich und im gesamten ist das Team einfach toll. Man fühlt sich herzlich empfangen und die Atmosphäre ist sehr schön. Eines unserer Lieblingsrestaurants.

Es war wieder einmal wie ein kleiner Urlaub! Alles hat gepasst! Das Essen wie immer hervorragend und der Service war perfekt, besonders hervor zu heben war die große Flexibilität und Geduld. Einfach erstklassig! Wir kommen immer wieder gerne zu Euch und nehmen die schönen Momente mit in die neue Woche und freuen uns schon auf das nächste Mal. Es ist immer wieder schön und wie ein kleiner Urlaubsmoment zu Gast im Knossos zu sein. Getränke, Speisen, Ambiente auf hohem Niveau. Der Service ist immer sehr freundlich. Aufgrund unserer vergangenen und auch wieder unserer aktuellen Erfahrung würden wir uns allerdings sehr freuen, wenn der Service mit Servierung des Hauptganges NICHT fast komplett eingestellt wird. Getränke während des Essens, weitere Wünsche sowie die Bezahlung sind immer wieder eine kleine Herausforderung. Wir bitten höflich, dies nicht als Beschwerde dennoch als einen Wunsch zu respektieren, der das Knossos Erlebnis rundherum zu dem macht - was es sein sollte - ein 5***** Sterne Erlebnis! Mehr Umsatz wäre ja auch für das Knossos von Vorteil - so haben wir in der Vergangenheit nach unzähligen Versuchen die Aufmerksamkeit für eine Bestellung zu bekommen aufgegeben und an der Bar um Zahlung gebeten. Wir kommen trotzdem gerne wieder und freuen uns einfach bei Euch zu sein.

Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt - aufmerksamer Service - gutes Essen - relativ große Portionen - super angerichtet auf den Tellern - es gab nichts zu meckern. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Wir waren zu zweit im Knossos in Gießen. Der Service war diesmal leider so schwach, dass er den Abend deutlich beeinträchtigt hat. Schon beim Bestellen zeigte sich, wie unkoordiniert alles lief: Kurz hintereinander kamen zwei verschiedene Kellner und wollten unsere Bestellung aufnehmen, obwohl wir bereits bestellt hatten. Wir wurden insgesamt von sechs verschiedenen Kellnern bedient – das wirkte insgesamt konzeptlos und sehr unaufmerksam. Nach der Vorspeise sollte der Hauptgang einfach serviert werden, obwohl die Vorspeisenteller noch voll auf dem Tisch standen. Es wurde nicht gefragt, ob wir bereit sind – wir mussten den Gang erst einmal wieder zurückgehen lassen. Später wurde die Hauptspeise gebracht, und fünf Minuten danach fragte ein anderer Kellner uns in einem zynischen Ton, ob uns die Hauptspeise „nun recht sei“. Das war unangenehm und unprofessionell. Eine bestellte Wasserflasche wurde außerdem einfach auf den Tisch gedonnert – nicht geöffnet, nicht eingeschenkt, nichts. Gerade bei dem Preisgefüge insgesamt – und bei einer Wasserflasche im Besonderen – erwartet man ein anderes Serviceniveau (das war in der Vergangenheit auch schon besser). Bei anderen Tischen wurde nachgefragt, ob alles in Ordnung ist und wie es schmeckt; bei uns erst, als wir schon aufgegessen hatten. Danach kam über eine halbe Stunde niemand mehr – weder Nachfrage, ob wir noch etwas möchten, noch die Rechnung. Was zusätzlich hängen blieb: Wir hatten stellenweise den Eindruck, dass bestimmte Tische deutlich mehr Aufmerksamkeit bekommen als andere. Woran das lag, kann ich nicht beurteilen – wir waren zu zweit als zwei Männer da, und im Vergleich fühlte es sich leider spürbar anders an. Und die Toiletten setzen dem Ganzen leider die Krone auf: schlechter Sauberkeitszustand, abgerissene Tapete, Papier im Waschbecken, ein defekter Seifenspender und als „Lösung“ eine herumstehende Flüssigseife, die bereits deutlich mit Wasser verdünnt wirkte. Insgesamt also eher enttäuschend.

Wie immer waren wir sehr zufrieden. Wir waren mit Freunden dort, die zum ersten Mal im Restaurant waren. Es hat ihnen auch sehr gut gefallen und geschmeckt.

Wir sind hier regelmäßig zu Gast und jedes Mal rundum zufrieden. Hervorragendes Essen, sehr freundlicher Service und eine angenehme Atmosphäre. Absolut empfehlenswert!

The restaurant has a very stylish and upscale ambiance! The dishes are always freshly prepared and sometimes presented in a very unusual way. It's a bit pricey, but the price is justified.

Wir sind regelmäßig im Knossos zu Gast und jedes Mal aufs Neue begeistert. Die Qualität des Essens ist über Jahre hinweg konstant hervorragend – das Fleisch ist immer perfekt zart und die Vorspeisen schmecken wie im Urlaub in Griechenland. Was uns aber immer wieder zurückkommen lässt, ist die herzliche Atmosphäre und der aufmerksame Service. Man wird jedes Mal wie ein guter Freund des Hauses empfangen. Für uns ist das Knossos die beste Adresse in der Region für einen rundum gelungenen Abend.

Zum wiederholten Mal: Es war wunderbar. Das Essen war so gut, wie man es selbst nicht hinbekommen kann. Zwar teuer, aber den Preis wert. Bedienung und Ambiente sind wunderbar, die beste Location in Gießen.

The food was really good. Unfortunately, the service was fast-food style. After entering the restaurant, we were finished after only 50 minutes, including the appetizers. Everything was far too quick and rushed. After clearing our plates, the staff completely ignored us regarding any further orders, such as dessert or drinks. The atmosphere was like a cafeteria, unfortunately…

It's a real joy to go to Knossos again right now. With Adriano and Obaid back, we have two excellent waiters again, and Miri at reception is also very friendly and a real asset. This is the Knossos we love! ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️

Everything was great until the main course. But after that, we weren't served. Empty bottles were taken away as we walked by, but we were never asked if we wanted anything else. No dessert, no drinks, nothing. The food, however, was delicious.

Wie immer hervorragend! Alles ist stimmig, wir hatten Salat mit Wachtelbrust, Rumpsteak, Lachs auf Belugalinsen und Wolfsbarsch auf mit Krebsfleisch gefüllten Raviolis. Vorab eine kalt/warme Vorspeisenplatze für 2 Personen die wir uns zu viert geteilt hatten. Großer Genuss!

We regularly go to Knossos with friends. I would describe it as modern Greek cuisine. The food is excellent, and we always have a relaxed and enjoyable time there. The staff is very friendly and attentive.

Bemühter Service allerdings ohne viel „Herz“( diesmal) Essen, soso lala; Gewürze wurden sehr sparsam verwendet . Die Speisekarte verspricht mehr als die Küche halten kann. Dressing beim Salat zu süß , Schimmelkäse weniger Geschmack als ein Gouda. Pommes schmeckten vor zwei Jahren nicht und gestern auch nicht . Pitabrot labberig . Kenntnisse der Weinkarte sehr gering und ohne Tiefgang. Es war am Ende ok. Gießen scheint nichts besseres zu haben, eine Diaspora bezogen auf „vernünftiges“ Essen

The KNOSSOS restaurant is known far beyond the borders of Giessen. Located directly on the Lahn River, it's especially wonderful in summer. Culinary overrated; anyone who knew KNOSSOS before the renovation knows what I mean. The background noise is a bit too loud. The food is neutral (in flavor) without the chef's particular signature. If you order wine by the glass, you should limit the amount served directly from the bottle at the table so that guests can see what they're getting. These olives (amuse gueule) are hardly a showcase for a Greek restaurant.

We went out to eat today, and I can only say one thing: by far the worst meal I've ever eaten. The meat was burnt, I couldn't cut the rump steak, and unless I gave it back to the kitchen, it wouldn't come back.

I can recommend it without reservation. We had salt-crusted sea bass on our visit. It was by far the best fish dish I've had in the area. Service was very friendly and attentive. The cocktails are also very good.

The ambiance and service were very good; it's very luxuriously decorated, and everyone is smartly dressed. The food was good, but given the prestige and price, I would have expected more.

Leider merkt man im Knossos sehr deutlich, wer Stammgast ist und wer nicht. Neue Gäste werden bei vollem Haus vom Service praktisch ignoriert: Ohne aktives Winken kam kein Kellner an den Tisch – von der Bitte um die Speisekarte bis hin zur Rechnungsstellung zog sich das durch den ganzen Abend. Die Vorspeisen waren wirklich gut. Aber die Pasta mit Chili-Tomatensauce, Meeresfrüchten, Kapern und Oliven hingegen war enttäuschend: fad, ohne erkennbare Chili-Schärfe, und eher wie eine einfache Tomatensauce, in die ein paar Meeresfrüchte geworfen wurden – nicht so, wie man eine Sauce erwarten würde, die mit Meeresfrüchten gekocht ist. Negativ aufgefallen ist auch, dass ein Kellner beim Einschenken viel Wasser verschüttete und den Tisch nicht einmal abtrocknete. Insgesamt fühlten wir uns trotz Platzierung mitten im Raum sehr stiefmütterlich behandelt. Das Knossos kann es definitiv besser. Umso enttäuschender ist es, wenn man das Gefühl hat, dass Stammgäste wie Gäste erster Klasse behandelt werden – während alle anderen nur zweite Klasse sind. Gäste, die sich den Abend über mehr leisten werden definitiv besser behandelt als die, die vielleicht nur ein paar Getränke haben und nur zwei Gänge. Gerade bei einem Restaurant im gehobenen Preissegment sollte das nicht passieren.

Good food and professional service.

Greek restaurant with excellent grilled fish and meat. The tuna fillet costs €40 (the most expensive fish), so it's not cheap, but it's reasonable. High-quality, tasty, and beautifully presented. The salad dressing, however, was a bit bland for my taste. It was just oil and vinegar. It could be spiced up. The dessert was very generous and delicious. The staff was attentive and very accommodating. The atmosphere outside on the terrace, right on the Lahn River, was fantastic (it really feels like a vacation). They have beautifully designed heaters for when it gets a bit colder. It's also nice inside, but quite noisy.

The food was incredibly good. BUT, apart from a few appetizers and a salad, there isn't a single vegetarian or vegan dish on the menu. I find that a real shame, given the truly delicious appetizer platter (which included some excellent vegetarian options), and it's keeping me from coming back. What I did eat, however, was excellent!

Beautifully decorated restaurant, but our complaint was handled poorly. There were simply too many bones in our fish fillet. When my companion directly complained about her fish, we were ignored while regulars were lavishly courted. The vegetables were also cold, a total disappointment. We had the feeling that our server, an older gentleman, simply didn't want to hear our complaint and were largely ignored for the rest of the evening. The couple next to us felt the same. The restaurant's location is great, right on the Lahn River with a beer garden.

Tolles Ambiente, angenehmer Service und wie immer sehr sehr gutes Essen. Die im Aussenbereich stehenden und sehr gut aussehenden Wärmelampen ermöglichen das Sitzen im Aussenbereich auch noch bei kühleren Temperaturen. Alles in allem war es ein sehr schöner Abend.

I was at Knossos on August 17, 2025, my birthday, because it had been recommended to me many times. Parking was good 👍🏼. We received a warm welcome, and all the staff were very friendly. A water bowl was brought for my dog without asking. I thought they were very thoughtful! The drink I ordered was too bitter for me—not my taste. The soup my mother had was good. I had a cheese salad. Nothing special. After the appetizer, the main course was immediately served. It went too quickly for me personally, and I would have liked a break in between. For the main course, we had salmon with lentils. I was totally disappointed. The salmon was burnt and tasted only average. However, the prices were very high for the taste. Unfortunately, we weren't offered a dessert menu. I had the main course wrapped up because I couldn't eat it all. At home, the food had packaging and a hair in it. Not so appetizing. Summary: Unfortunately overrated, too expensive, and taste-wise nothing special, sorry! My highlight at the restaurant was a celebrity I saw.

We were there on Saturday. Absolutely fantastic welcome, super friendly service, a fantastic owner who constantly cares about his guests' well-being, and the food from the kitchen was cooked and seasoned with love! Everything was absolutely perfect.

Going out to eat spontaneously on a Monday evening isn't easy. Knossos was open and offers a wonderful, modern, elegant ambiance with numerous tables offering guests a view of the Lahn River. The service was fast, but not hectic, friendly, and professional. That's something you rarely find these days. Quality comes at a price. Therefore, Knossos isn't exactly a budget-friendly alternative—that much should be understood.

Sensational! It was my first time there and I was immediately overwhelmed by the sheer size of this beautiful restaurant on the Lahn River. Elegant and without kitsch, simple and elegant decor, very attentive, fast, and friendly service, and creative Greek cuisine. Be careful with the portions; they are really large! And despite the large seating, a reservation is definitely recommended. The three of us had a mixed starter platter and then lamb and fish, everything was impeccable.

Essenstechnisch war ich gestern etwas enttäuscht. Wir haben beim vorletzten Besuch eine Kalt-, Warme-Vorspeisenplatte für drei Personen gegessen. Diese war vorher immer u.a. mit drei schöne dicken gegrillten Garnelen belegt. Die haben wir gestern leider auf der Platte vermisst. Als Ersatz lagen drei Makrelestücke mit drauf. Das wird mich von meinem nächsten Besuch bei ihnen jetzt nicht abhalten, war diesbezüglich aber ein wenig enttäuscht. Ansonsten war alles "tipi - topi"

Anyone looking for modern Greek cuisine will find more than they're looking for here. Enjoy! I used to always go there in the evenings, but now I've also relaxed here for lunch. Again, the food is best ever... The only thing that bothers me after several visits... The restrooms always smell extremely strongly of cleaning products. Sorry, that's too much. Again, the food is perfect... And there we have that annoying issue again... The cleaning cloths/products used to wipe tables have to smell of something (cleaning products), otherwise it can't be clean. That's not state of the art.

Beautiful terrace. Spacious with luxurious, comfortable chairs. The meat was good, but the vegetables and potatoes that came with it were a bit plain and bland/tasteless. The coffee was good.

Absolutely stunning! The food was sooooo delicious and the waiters were incredibly attentive, caring, and friendly. We were served by Obi and Alexandra. The ambiance was fantastic! Although it was quite chilly, we were able to sit outside under a patio heater, and it was super pleasant. I think the pictures speak for themselves. I highly recommend it and would love to come back ❤️

The food was tasty but underseasoned. Unfortunately, there was no fresh coleslaw or anything to go with it... We sat on damp cushions, and our pants were wet afterward.... After eating, we wanted to order something else, but the waiter took the menu, and I asked if I could leave a card for later. He didn't ask us if we wanted to order anything else after our meal. So we went somewhere else for coffee... And I didn't see any gyros on the menu...

Nice ambiance on the Lahn River with ample parking. The food was high quality and nicely presented. However, in my opinion, there's still room for improvement in the service.

Ich habe bereits das zweite Mal meinen Hauptgang serviert bekommen, während ich mit der Vorspeise noch beschäftigt war. Als ich darauf hingewiesen habe, dass ich noch meine Vorspeise esse, wurde mir die Wahl gestellt den Hauptgang zusätzlich direkt zu essen oder man stellt ihn warm. Bei einem Preis von beiden Gerichten von über 50€ sollte ich als Gast erwarten dürfen doch 20 Minuten Zeit zu haben zwischen den Servieren beider Speisen. Ambiente top, Service freundlich .
