We (men's evening for four) had a really delicious meal! The service was absolutely nice and friendly... which means: a thoroughly recommended restaurant.

Here you get what the name promises: Dumplings with an x Everything is very tasty and highly recommended.

The minimalist design in the restaurant is striking: the focus is more on the extremely delicious taste of their dumplings. The staff was very polite and wished us "bon appetit".

We had already reserved a table for Sunday two weeks in advance. When we arrived as planned, not only was our table unavailable - there were no free tables at all. An absolute disappointment, especially since the reservation was confirmed. What was particularly disappointing was the way the bartender and waiter treated us, who were dismissive and not very solution-oriented. No accommodation, no real regret - instead a rather didactic and unfriendly attitude. Such service is unacceptable to us and ruined our entire Sunday. We will definitely not be coming back - and cannot recommend the restaurant under these circumstances.

i löve knödel. if the knödelwirtschaft süd is full, you might be able to find a table at nord cuz it’s more spacious. interior is a bit nicer than in süd. they always have 1 vegan knödel. it seems quite healthy. no lunch tho, opens at 5 i think. unfortunately no vegan dessert :(

The Knödelwirtschaft is simply a super cozy restaurant with friendly service and incredibly delicious food! We had liver, cheese and beetroot dumplings. The side salad is the perfect complement to the dumplings. Our group also ordered the goulash soup and the boiled beef - everyone was more than satisfied.

Amazing place, great people, tasty food, and good beer. Traditional German food you may add as many knödel as your plate can carry. Lively customers, I will come back here.

I introduced you to dumplings differently because the special ingredients are processed inside. But that wasn't the case, so the dumplings were very soggy. Had the goulash, unfortunately the meat was very dry. Pro Tip: Dumplings are usually decorated with butter crumbs. That was missing and was correspondingly disappointing The portions were also too small for the price. My last visit here. It's a shame, the idea is good, but the concept fails when it comes to implementation

We wanted to try something new for my birthday, but unfortunately it didn't meet our taste or expectations. We expected much more for the price - both in terms of quantity and quality. Additionally, my kids and I had stomach cramps after eating, which made the experience even more disappointing. Unfortunately not worth the money for us. But service was very friendly!

Rarely does a name fit a restaurant as well as “Knödelwirtschaft”. The decor brings back memories of a cozy, old restaurant and the menu of course offers a variety of delicious dumplings. We particularly like the selection of “side dishes” such as goulash or mushroom sauce. The dumplings are wonderfully fluffy and taste great. The different varieties change with the season, which provides additional variety. A fresh salad is always served with the dumpling duo. In our case it was green salad, coleslaw, beetroot and cucumber salad, all of which were very tasty. The dessert dumpling was the crowning conclusion to our visit. The service was extremely friendly, although the attention could be a little better. We found it particularly pleasant that water was automatically put on the table and the beer also tasted very good.

Super nice evening with great food, great quality and, above all, really great value for money! Also a tip: ask for the current dumpling, the menu itself also changes from month to month.

A great shop. You should definitely make a reservation as it always seems to be full, and for good reason. The dumplings are A1. There is a star deduction for the very short time slot when reserving, otherwise everything is great.

Had a lovely lunch here with a friend. The decor was cosy and great for the winter. The food was delicious, we had the horseradish sauce with Knödel and the service was very friendly. I will be back!

We were brought to the table and then left “standing” for some time without a card. All the waitresses were behind the counter and chatting animatedly. After a while we were asked whether we wanted to leave or had just come. After we got the card, we were ignored/overlooked for a while again. Too bad. Have been there a few times and the food is always very good. So far we haven't had any problems with the service. But this time it was very disappointing.

Unfortunately, the service was subpar; we were simply completely ignored by the waiter the entire evening. The food was delicious as always, but from now on we will probably only go to the Knödelwirtschaft SÜD, where both the service and the ambience are much better.

The dumpling selection varies at certain intervals, the current selection didn't quite suit our taste. The dumplings were tasty, but we also found them quite small. The side salad was accompanied by coleslaw with caraway and beetroot. There was only one mushroom sauce to choose from for the dumplings, so I would have liked an alternative. The goulash was very tasty and a real highlight. Tip, order the dumplings separately.

Very fine dumplings, great restaurant.

Wonderful food, I've never had such good dumplings. The ambience is welcoming and matches the food perfectly. A little pricey (since you need 4 dumplings to fill you up) but it's so worth it. The service was courteous, helpful and prompt despite a full house.

Super delicious, the different types of dumplings, the great goulash and the salad with it, I'll be happy to come back.

Very tasty dumplings. I had goulash with two dumplings. Very good goulash with very tasty long-fiber meat (well cut) and two of the delicious dumplings. The side salad was very crunchy and fresh. The ambience is a little cramped, but that's rather subjective.

The food is really delicious. What I can't quite understand, however, is why the dumplings have to be so small. In the pictures they look significantly larger, but in reality they are just the size of an ice cream ball. Slightly more generous dumpling portions would hardly increase the material costs - after all, we are talking about fairly cheap ingredients here. They don't need it because the store is always full.

The food was super tasty. There are 6 alternating dumplings to choose from every week with vegetarian and vegan options :) The dumplings are served with butter and parmesan as standard and a side salad of leaf lettuce, cucumber salad, white cabbage and beetroot. For normal hunger I recommend 3 dumplings or alternatively 2 dumplings with dessert :) The staff is generally very friendly and the atmosphere is very pleasant! However, I would highly recommend reserving in advance to get a safe and relaxed place! By the way, I can particularly recommend the vegan beetroot dumplings if they happen to be on the menu!

Too bad and never again. That's the short version. After a business meeting, we wanted to have something to eat together and end the evening comfortably. The dumpling restaurant was a spontaneous discovery and made a good impression. We got a table and ordered beer and food. We found the dumpling concept quite okay and interesting. Half a liter of beer for €5.6 is probably standard now. It is of course annoying if 2 cm are missing from the calibration mark. But the evening was still okay and we felt good. The dumplings were good and tasty, maybe a bit small and quite expensive but it didn't matter. The service was mediocre. If a glass is empty, you might expect to be asked if you can have another one. That is not the case here. You have to actively draw attention to yourself and ask to be allowed to order another drink. So far so good. We were in the dumpling restaurant for over three hours and ordered lots of drinks. We left over €40 per person. No problem and completely fine. But the hammer unexpectedly came around the corner. We were just thinking about ordering one last round when we were rudely told that our table was needed now and that we should please go out. What? Yes, please pay at the counter and leave. We were really stunned. This has never happened to any of us before. None of us will ever enter this store again. Which is actually a real shame.

Very small very tasty dumplings. Portions can be larger. If a dumpling costs 4.50 (or so), then I want to be able to make a little more than 2 bites. It looks beautifully arranged on the plate, but 40% of it is 1 pretty lettuce leaf. The main attraction, the dumplings, are unfortunately tiny. It can't be that much more loss of profit and effort for the restaurant if the dumplings are shaped a little larger. (Or they just want you to reorder forever) Service: very poor. We arrived relatively early for the evening and were almost the only ones in the restaurant. We were very hungry and a bit annoyed that 40 minutes passed between the time we first sat down and ordered until the food actually came. Even when we paid, the waitress couldn't be found or ignored us.

The food was delicious as always, but unfortunately the theses smelled so much of sweat that it was difficult to enjoy the food.

Goulash was just cold, had to go to the waitress and ask for a new one. The other order was also incorrect. The staff was friendly, but the service was really bad. Don't know if I would come back again...

Nice, somewhat pub-like, cozy atmosphere. When it gets busy, it gets quite loud. A manageable selection of different dumplings that you can combine as desired and which are served with four different salads. These had different dressings and tasted very good, as did the fluffy dumplings (here cheese/mushroom). My neighbor also liked dumplings with goulash. The highlight at the end was the semolina dumpling with a little cinnamon, candied walnuts and braised apples plus a dollop of cream. Delicious! Good price ratio if you drink beer (e.g. Helles, Radler, Weizen) with it. Unfortunately, the price of the wines is a bit high (as is common almost everywhere at the moment). Super friendly and relaxed service! And he was fast too.

The location is fantastic and the service work really hard (the room was only half full when we were there, yet the two women seemed run off their feet!) and are super friendly. The salads are great, the drinks were great. But we went here for the Knödel, and weirdly these were the biggest disappointment. Once upon a time, November had great local food, including Kürbis Knödel, and we have two other favourite places for Spinat Knödel (nowhere nearby: Peter Schlemihl and Freundschaft), and one for Rotebeet Knödel (Leibhaftig). But you could barely if at all taste the pumpkin, beets, or kale (they didn't do spinach) in the dumplings we tried. The cheese and starch dominate. We were there Sunday lunch and it was mostly full of groups of friends / families with small children who I guess like this kind of thing a lot. My guess is that evenings it is mostly about the drinks.

Very tasty rustic food, perfect for autumn and winter. We really enjoyed the freely selectable dumplings with the mushroom sauce!

Rindergulach with kaseknödel was really good

We ate there today and the food was ok. I thought the goulash was good, the boiled beef was very unimaginatively prepared and there was really little. The side salad had hardly any dressing. I found the service simply bad. I didn't like that at all. The ambience was far too loud for me. And the tables are too close together for me. What doesn't work for me is that people are simply seated at the table.

Very tasty food in a cozy atmosphere. Small but very fine selection of dumplings, with a seasonal, currently pumpkin-thyme. We had three per person, but two were enough, even if we were really hungry. There is also a great selection of salads, the beetroot was really tasty, I don't really like them otherwise. The mushroom cream sauce is a must, I could just spoon it on like that.

It's cozy and nice. The dumplings are delicious. It's very simple food and a very simple place, but you feel very comfortable.

The dumplings are ok. However, the meat was not appropriate for the price (both dishes over €20). The boiled beef was gristly, the goulash had large pieces of fat. That doesn't work. The service was otherwise excellent. So, if at all, only eat dumplings.

It was actually really tasty, even though I would have thought that I wasn't a dumpling fan at all. What was shocking, however, was the waiting time - we waited well over an hour for our order (and there were only two of us).

Pleasant atmosphere and variety of Knödel. However, the air can feel stuffy when the restaurant gets full quickly.

I expected more. Service was good but the bacon dumplings very disappointing. Small and mushy with a few drops of melted butter. No parmesan although stated in the menu. The waitress was a bit surprised, but then served the Parmesan when asked. Since the salad only had a few drops of dressing, the whole dish was a very dry affair. All in all very disappointing, unfortunately.

Cool, fun place! There are almost always a lot of people, they feed for slaughter, the portions are simply huge! The choice of dishes is not large, the cuisine is local, huge dumplings with any taste. For two with beer 50 euros.

I would give 10 stars. My new favorite restaurant. It's nice to sit down, the food is just great 🙏 great wines and the staff is extremely friendly and accommodating (rather a rarity in Berlin). All the dumplings we had were first class, even the vegan dumplings were a dream. And the sweet dumplings wow🌟 we'll be back 💕

Had a horrible experience here . I am visiting Berlin and booked the place to catch up with old friends. One of the wait staff accosted me whilst ordering about my tshirt, a Chris Korda shirt I had bought from their show at kolnisher kunstverien on the way here. They took issue with it and asked if I had had experiences with the subject. It was totally unprovoked and completely blindsided me. On top on this we were asked to pay for five beers we didn’t drink. (Our bill was over 200 euro and all our glasses were on the table) Anyway, the food is nice, but go to the one in neukoln. Perhaps it was a once off but the staff member in north took massive and unconsidered liberties that really ruined my night.

The service was quick and friendly, but unfortunately an order was forgotten and I never received an answer to a query that the waiter wanted to find out. The food was okay, but for me as a native of Tyrolean cuisine, the taste wasn't overwhelming. In this respect, I don't find the price-performance ratio convincing.

Very tasty and juicy dumplings! The ambience is nice and rustic and goes perfectly with the menu. The service is courteous, fast and extremely friendly. I had the cheese, spinach, bacon and truffle dumplings, which are all a culinary delight in their own right, but with the mushroom sauce they take the taste experience to a higher level! The truffle dumpling with its balanced truffle taste was particularly recommended. Definitely a risk of repetition!

Even though it's on the menu, my (non-vegan) dumplings came without parmesan. When I asked, visibly disappointed, all I got was "That's how it should be, these are served without" - but that should also be on the menu, or would it really have been so bad to just bring me a handful of cheese? You can also save the mushroom sauce.

Recommended if you’re looking for a new interesting concept. Staff are friendy; food is good. Best Knödel options to pick from are the bell pepper, mushroom and tofu, feta and zucchini. Good options also are bacon, and standard cheese Knödel. The dessert is fine; made mainly from semolina, apple, almond, and cinnamon.

It's the perfect place to try a traditional German meal in Berlin. We went as 4 people. Me and my partner had the chance to try a total of 4 knödel in pairs. Our favorites were the ones with cheese and spinach. The other ones we tried were bacon and liver. The general atmosphere of the place is very nice and warm. The dessert was not that interesting.

Good idea to only offer dumplings of all types. They were also delicious - many greetings to the Offenbacher who served us so well.

My absolute favorite restaurant in Berlin! My first visit to Knödelwirtschaft was actually 7 years ago (the Neukoln/south location) when I was last in Berlin, and I have thought fondly about my meal there ever since. I had the pleasure of visiting Berlin again last week and coming back to this restaurant was my top priority. I went to both locations and the Prenzlauer Berg location is fantastic! This time I ordered the 2 dumpling plate with a cheese dumpling + a saffron fennel dumpling (this was the special dumpling of the day). Both dumplings were incredible as expected- the saffron fennel was my favorite. The salad is delicious too. My friend ordered the 2 dumpling plate as well, with a spinach dumpling and a cheese dumpling. It was the perfect meal to enjoy together on a cozy evening in Berlin. In addition to the yummy knödels, the atmosphere is modern and charming and the staff are very warm and welcoming. I love this restaurant because even as visitors from New York, it gives the feeling of dining as a local at home in your own neighborhood. I highly recommend Knödelwirtschaft (both this location and the other location which I also visited last week) to anyone looking for a delicious and memorable meal in Berlin. I am already looking forward to my next visit!😋

Old and young meet here and everyone seems to be very happy. As already indicated with the 5 stars top points, I can only confirm that the food is excellent, the service is brilliantly friendly and the ambience is very appropriate!

Rather large restaurant in a quiet side street of the Schönhauser Allee. There is seats inside and outside. The food was very good, the service fine. This all up brings it to a 4 star rating which is pretty good.

Service was good, but the volume was unsuitable for conversation. €13.50 for two small dumplings with some salad was too expensive as the taste wasn't great either. Unfortunately it can't be compared with grandma's dumplings.

Between what I had imagined and the reality on the plate, there was such a difference... Nothing that came from the restaurateur, just my brain which must have been racing. Lovely setting, smiling and professional staff, ... And the icing on the cake, a light addition. A word from the cook: from my point of view, the spice lacks generosity.

At that time there was an Austrian here with an excellent goulash and welcoming warmth. Unfortunately the tenant has changed. I missed both things in the dumpling bar - the warm welcome and also the wonderful goulash. Instead, there was a feeling of boredom, lack of interest and a tough and not tasty goulash on the plate (which unfortunately also unintentionally accompanied me between my teeth). No thanks. Not again!

Tja… service is a horror. The uninterested weiter/waitress let you know they would prefer to be somewhere else. Food is average to good with not many options which is fair enough. Atmosphere is also average. The truffle knödel doesn’t taste like truffle. Cheese are good… bacon, liver and maronen are just average. The salad that comes with the main dishes is Ok, the goulash is average as well as the mushroom sauce. All together not special but I like Knödel

Excellent food, excellent service! Could honestly eat here every day

We ate at the Knödelwirtschaft at the weekend. My partner had the goulash, I ordered two dumplings with mushroom cream sauce. Unfortunately for us it was a disappointing experience. The dumplings are okay so far. However, we both liked the side salad far better than the actual main act. The mushroom cream sauce was terrible. Which makes you sad when you're really looking forward to such a sauce. The service at the beginning was not very welcoming. We hadn't made a reservation and were seated at a small cat table, even though the shop was almost empty. Afterwards the mood improved as another person served us. Unfortunately I don't see value for money. We had two dishes and a small drink, which cost us almost €50. Unfortunately, it was a €0 experience. In our opinion, the concept has great potential to become really good. But currently just potential.

Everything perfect. The dumplings were super tasty (beetroot, cheese, radicchio - scamorza) and the salad was very fresh, the service was very attentive and nice (February 12th evening) and it didn't take too long! Unfortunately, the frittaten soup is only available in veal broth and no vegetarian version. The atmosphere is very pleasant and cozy. We will be back definitely.

Food was nice but took way too long unfortunately. Staff was also nice but very busy and thus, not as attentive. Since they have a small menu focused on one food item one would expect the food to be served a tad quicker. Dessert was also very delicious.

Overall an ok experience. However, some of the dumplings were still frozen. The goulash was a bit bland in taste - it lacked spice and umami. I remembered the food in the southern counterpart better. The service was nice, but sometimes a bit inattentive. But everything is reasonable in terms of price and the ambience is also quite pleasant.

I didn't have an opinion about dumplings at first...that's definitely changed. Delicious food, good wine and fair prices.

I am giving up on this place. Whenever I call them in the evening to order food those lazy Knödlers tell me that they wanna close soon and hang up the phone.

Ich hatte das Rindergulasch mit einem Käse- und einem Speckknödel. Die Knödel waren lecker. Mein Gulasch war zum größten Teil leider sehr durchwachsen und zäh, sodass viel auf dem Teller zurückgeblieben ist. Und in meinem Salat hatte ich dann auch noch eine Schnecke auf dem Salatblatt entdeckt. Das Personal war dann wirklich sehr freundlich, ist mir preislich entgegengekommen und hat mir einen süßen Knödel aufs Haus serviert. Vielleicht hatte ich einfach Pech, aber Schnecken im Salat dürften meines Erachtens nicht vorkommen, wenn der Salat ordentlich gewaschen wird.

Würde ich wiederkommen? Ja! Das Essen war hervorragend. Der Service war leider etwas mau. Wir haben knapp 50 Minuten auf das Essen gewartet, während die Nachbartische schon fast durch waren bei gleichem Bestellungszeitraum. Bis zur ersten Bestellungsaufnahme vergingen auch 40 Min. Da geht noch was. Dennoch - Essen reißt es raus.

Bestes Restaurant für Knödel! Es gibt immer einen Tagesknödel und jedes Mal waren alle sehr zufrieden! Super lecker und der Beilagensalat auch. Es gibt auch eine vegane Option die lecker ist!
