A very nice restaurant with a good selection of food; it takes a while, but the wait is worth it. The restaurant itself is also very nicely decorated and clean.

As always, very tasty, cozy, friendly staff.

A thoroughly successful evening – pure Bavarian feeling! We were here on October 19, 2025, and had reserved a table. As the first guests, we were able to choose our seats right away. As soon as you walk in, you immediately feel like you're in Bavaria: a rustic, cozy atmosphere with attention to detail. The culinary highlight was a hit: the white sausages were excellent, and the liver dumpling soup was also a delight. The absolute highlight, however, was the knuckle of pork, which we shared – wonderfully juicy on the inside, crispy on the outside, and with a crust you could really eat! Further praise goes to our friendly waitress. You can immediately tell she's learned her trade: always friendly, attentive, and always there at the right moment. Conclusion: A fantastic experience... we'll definitely be back! One small wish for the future: At €13.50, one more white sausage would have rounded off the whole experience perfectly. 😃

The staff is terrible. They laugh at the customers. They sit around. The tables in the self-service area are dirty. Only the beer garden, with its location, stands out. We've been customers for years, and it's gotten worse with each new management. It's a shame, we won't be back. Absolutely not a recommendation.

Officially, the restaurant is open until 10 p.m. But the tables were already cleared at 7:40 p.m. The bill arrived unprompted at 9 p.m., and the lights were turned out at 9:20 p.m.! The food is convenience food, and the beer is, of course, good. It's a real shame. Such a beautiful place, so disastrously managed. In summary, one must say: The people here are simply hostile to their guests.

Nice beer garden with varying levels of service quality. The beer and wine are tasty. The knuckle of pork and white sausages are good. The vegetarian tarte flambée is a minor disaster. Ten days ago, I had the sausage salad, and it tasted like a 4-. I have the impression that the beer garden could be managed much better.

Was all OK although a bit strange servicewise with the younger chap saying "hallo" and then just standing there. Got ourselves settled, seemingly Dunkel only served in large glasses, yet other draught beers served in 1/2. Food was good, out quick and tasty. Then the fun. waitress didn't seem happy that we didn't add tip to amount to charge on card. She then cancelled the transaction twice saying the card was declined. Worked ok at two other places afterwards.... Then paid by cash and she hummed and hawwed for each euro placed on the table. Then said "tip is not included in Germany" we saw this on the receipt and was going to give a cash tip, however after this attitude we decided not to. Please don't harass visitors for a tip...it will backfire on you. Looks a nice setting, shame about the staff.

This isn't a beer garden; the garden is completely shaded by very dirty umbrellas, really dark even during the day, unfortunately no longer cozy. If you speak up, you're told you're an idiot. (It's a shame we don't go there anymore.) The €6 self-service beer is also way too expensive. Reply to the owner's comment: Unfortunately, it's true that you have to sit under umbrellas, even though the garden has shady trees. The heat builds up under the umbrellas, and you can't see the sky. Okay, there are people who like to sit in the dark, but we're not among them. If you ever come to Munich and visit an authentic beer garden, you won't find a "sunshade roof." It's a shame, we were regulars at the previous operator, but Berlin is big, and there are still plenty of nice alternatives.

While friends from abroad came to visit for only a few days, I was looking to show them authentic German food and chose this Biergarten. Unfortunately after ordering the food it turned out to be the wrong choice for having Bavarian food in Berlin: What was served was in no way comparable to what is served in Bavaria in terms of quality and quantity. I would not recommend eating here, but at most try their beer varieties vom Fass.

Yesterday, Friday evening, we just wanted to have a nice drink in the beer garden: We witnessed an employee closing the large umbrellas at exactly 10 p.m. He did this without prior notice to the guests sitting underneath. At the neighboring table, the umbrella was also closed without notice, and the umbrella then grazed a guest's head. There was no explanation or apology. Another employee was unmotivatedly clearing empty glasses from the tables. Another, in a loud, separate conversation with colleagues, audibly declared: "I don't give a damn about any of this, I have tomorrow off!" The drinks were served very slowly. A young, friendly, tall employee was the only one working the grill, smiling, nimbly, and friendly. Unfortunately, this was our perspective as a visitor yesterday, although we found it incomprehensible that the very busy beer garden was closed at 10 p.m.

The food was truly delicious, and the service was very quick and friendly. We'd love to come back soon.

We had a fantastic evening at Weihenstephaner today. Our server was simply fantastic, and we immediately ordered the Kaiserschmarrn again; it's fantastic. Thank you for the wonderful evening with you!

The only real beer garden in Berlin.

It's OK. But it's not the ultimate hit for Bavarian food in Berlin.

This was our first time here and we were absolutely thrilled. The food was truly delicious and seemed very fresh, the service was attentive and very friendly, and the atmosphere was truly cozy. We'll definitely be coming back more often this summer.

Impossible, the service was completely understaffed, the restaurant's beer garden was full, and there was virtually no service inside. Neither a waiter came nor an order was taken and at some point it was announced that the food would involve at least an hour of waiting time. We hadn't been able to order anything yet. Absolute service desert, but actually quite nicely located. We then left because we didn't want to starve! So I can't say anything about the food.

Amazing authentic Bavarian fare... goulash was excellent as was the beer...

Bavarian beer bar with a very nice, large beer garden, right next to the Lichterfelde West S-Bahn station. There is shandy on tap, roast pork with cabbage and dumplings (formerly €14.50, currently €18.50) and other Bavarian dishes. The crusty roast is hard, the cabbage is vinegary. Kaiserschmarrn only tastes average. I really enjoyed Kellerbier and white sausages with sweet Bavarian mustard from Händlmaier. 🥨🍺. Part of the interior is a very stylishly renovated former railway signal box building.

The food is really recommended, which unfortunately cannot be said about the service. Stupidly looking at guests and running past them several times without greeting them, offering them a seat or even saying that there are no more free seats shows significant unprofessionalism. Still not responding to inquiries and continuing to ignore the guests is not only unprofessional, but outrageous!

Visit on 12/28/25 the restaurant has a new management(?) The quality of the food has improved, but the prices have increased. We found an acceptable price-performance ratio. The portion size was good. The tarte flambée had a bit too much sour cream. The sausage salad was good. Leberkäse with fried eggs is also delicious. The vegan Maultschen were delicious, but the salad was a bit too small for the price. The complete range of Weihenstephaner beers, including non-alcoholic ones, is available. Price still ok for the drinks. Unfortunately or fortunately there are few guests. Let's see how long the team lasts

We have been regular guests at the restaurant for 5 years, especially at Christmas time, and as a family we are always thrilled with the quality of the food. A clear recommendation 👍😌

There were three of us for dinner. The waiter was very friendly and the food was great. The ladies had salad and tarte flambée, both were thrilled. I was looking forward to half the duck and was completely satisfied. The skin was very crispy and the duck was not over-seasoned. The breast meat was filleted from the carcass and only the leg and wing still had bones. Since the meat was tender and not dry, the bones came away easily by just gently pressing on the leg and pulling the bone out! Simply perfect! The portions are large and the price is right! I worked as a chef in top restaurants for a long time and can therefore only take my hat off to the chef's performance. By the way, even though I was completely full, I still “had” to order the Kaiserschmarren 😉. Extremely tasty and somehow it also found a corner in my stomach 😉

We were there again this afternoon. The tarte flambée and wine were delicious as always. The interior actually looks very cozy, but it was so cold that not only I but also the few other guests were sitting at the table in their winter jackets. It's been that cold there for a long time and no amount of heat helps. Our conclusion: we'll come back when the heating is repaired or it's warm outside again.

The waitress (a young man) explained to us in an extremely unfriendly manner that you can only drink a beer in the beer garden if you order a dish from the menu. It's a shame about the beautiful beer garden, which no longer deserves its name. With such a disrespectful tone, the store won't see us again anyway.

Den Tisch, den wir eingenommen hatten, haben wir selbst von Gläsern und Geschirr freigeräumt! Der Kellner, der uns bedient hat, hat mehrmals darauf hingewiesen, dass es kein Personal gibt und er dreißig Tische zu bedienen hat! Die Bestellung ging dann sehr schleppend voran, da er mindestens dreimal nachgefragt hat, was wir haben wollen! Wir(4Personen) hatten das Gefühl, dass er nicht mehr ganz nüchtern war! Die Rechnung, die wir ausgedruckt haben wollten, war dreimal eine falsche! Wir kennen diesen Biergarten schon sehr lange, hat sich mit den Jahren immer mehr verschlechtert, auch die Preise sind überirdisch! Diese Lokalität werden wir in Zukunft meiden!!

This WAS a really nice beer garden. Unfortunately, things have deteriorated massively due to the new management. The prices have risen massively and when the self-service area is closed, you can't just drink a few beers because something has to be consumed. Quite honestly: Then I'll look for another place to eat it. That's a real shame and has nothing to do with the old Maria & Josef.

We were in the beer garden with friends on a wonderful late summer evening - as expected, it was well attended but not too crowded. Nice atmosphere, you can tell that effort is being made and the service was surprisingly quick. Drinks and beer were also appropriate and good - certainly expensive but that's every beer garden. In principle everything was rather positive overall but unfortunately some of the staff were very "annoyed". That's why the rather poor rating, because the atmosphere unfortunately didn't do justice to the ambience. The staff tried with a lot of pressure to process guests and orders as quickly as possible. In principle not bad, if it hadn't been for the pressure. There was no sense of cosiness or warmth. When our dachshund moved independently in the beer garden a few times - at a later hour when it was already empty - the owner was called loudly and aggressively and we were reprimanded. When the dachshund went stray again at the end when we were leaving and the beer garden was almost empty, the situation escalated and it became really loud. It's a shame, that's not how hospitality works, so we can't recommend the Weihenstephaner. If you are looking for a friendly and beautiful beer garden, go to the Luise or the Alten Krug. It's delicious, friendly and cozy. That's how service works! And ask about Lilli the dachshund and everyone starts to smile. It's a shame Weihenstephaner, unfortunately the team leader's reactions were very professional: "If you don't have your dog under control, you don't have to come back!"

Beautiful beer garden in a pleasant atmosphere under old trees. The service is very friendly. Unfortunately I can't recommend the food. The plates are overflowing, the quality is mediocre.

We had reserved a table for 7 people and were initially seated at a table for 4. When all 7 guests were finally present, the relocation only took place very reluctantly. The unfriendliness and annoyance continued when two people turned half a meter from the table because of the blinding sun. “The aisles have to stay clear, nothing Aha!!!” Without even answering our question as to whether there are parasols or whether we can move around. And the coffee machine was broken and there were no coffee alternatives either. Basically, the reservation was also an act because there was no response to emails or telephone. The waiters are happy to keep their miserable mood to themselves as long as they want to have returning guests and tips. It is advisable to use the self-service area, especially since this staff is at least service-oriented. The waiters can learn a lesson from this.

This place is awesome. The food has great proportions and is delicious and authentic. The wine, beer, and shots were also amazing. I would go out of my way to come here if you have a chance. It is 100 percent worth it. I would 10/10 recommend

My husband daughter and her husband came on a Tuesday evening for dinner. The outdoor sitting area was full of life. We sat at a table and ordered the Kalbsschnitzel mit Brezelpanade (breaded veal with potatoes cucumber salad and cranberries), Hax’n auf Sauerkraut (roaster pork knuckle with sour cabbage, dark beer sauce, mashed potatoes) and Klassik-mit Scchmand, Schinken und rotten Zwieden( thin crust pizza with sour, Han, and red onions) The veal was so delicious, especially with a little bit of cranberry sauce added to each bite. The pork knuckle had a wonderful crispy skin and tender pork inner. The potatoes were on point. The service was beyond phenomenal! You will not be disappointed with your visit here!!!

We had a lovely time here! Went to the Biergarten first and then to the restaurant. Portions are really really big (doggy bags were needed) but so delicious! The service was super friendly And the fact that it's close to the S-Bahn made it super accessible. They also brought coloring paper and pens for the little ones. Will definitely be back (used to come here more often 15years ago and happy so see it hasn't changed) 🫶

In July I reserved long tables and benches for 30 people. Although there is only self service in this area of ​​the beer garden, the restaurant manager and his team made it possible for us to order a la carte. AMBIGUOUS Very nice beer garden under large trees. BUT: Not an owner-managed restaurant where the boss personally takes care of everything like a hawk, but rather soulless system catering (see Wikipedia for definition) run by an anonymous investor group that runs around 30 locations. The consequences of this can be seen in the negative reviews. One negative consequence: The food is, at best, of assembly-line quality, as far as I discovered after my five visits. It can taste good, but it doesn't have to. (Guests with low expectations are sure to be satisfied.) Conclusion: The first good impression due to the appealing ambience does not hold up to a closer look. I don't want to overestimate the uncomfortable wooden folding chairs (for which you can supposedly get seat cushions upon request): perhaps that can hardly be done differently in a large beer garden. It is the sum of all impressions that ultimately leads to a negative rating.

Completely inflexible and unfriendly staff. We were sitting with a group in the beer garden, I was there for the first (and last) time, I didn't know that you couldn't order from the restaurant menu in the beer garden. I completely understand if there is little or no staff on site. It wouldn't be a problem at all if I had ordered in the restaurant, waited, paid and then sat down with my group. But purely on principle that wasn't possible either, because then "everyone" in the beer garden would also want restaurant food. Now the beer garden wasn't overly full and I would be surprised if everyone suddenly only ordered the inn food... So unfortunately it turned out to be a very hungry evening for me, friends had very mediocre fries and a bratwurst roll that was probably quite ok. The wine was delicious, the gastronomic flexibility and memory a disaster. Strange that in the end a coffee that wasn't available in the beer garden could be served...Weihenstephaner service desert, nothing of the Bavarian cosiness and definitely not a recommendation...

I was in Berlin with a friend and a family member from the UK. In total we went on 4 occasions within a week! First time was for a beer after a day of sight-seeing and even though my German isn't great, I found the bar staff very welcoming and helpful with smiles as well. The second and third time was to watch the football and great atmosphere with good BBQ food! Extremely happy with that as well as the staff and Manager even remembering us from the first beers and even good banter too. Final night was a formal sit down meal. Pork knuckle, beer and I even tried the snaps! Thoroughly enjoyed everything about this beer garden. I think it's safe to say I've tried all areas of their beer garden / outdoor dining and was delighted with it! Well done, great staff / Manager and good atmosphere! I'm planning on coming back soon so see you then...

My friends and I went to watch football ⚽️ in cozy Weihenstephan on Friday. We would like to thank you very much for your great service, super nice service staff and great food. We felt very comfortable and would love to come back for a girls' night out.
