Visit on 12/28/25 the restaurant has a new management(?) The quality of the food has improved, but the prices have increased. We found an acceptable price-performance ratio. The portion size was good. The tarte flambée had a bit too much sour cream. The sausage salad was good. Leberkäse with fried eggs is also delicious. The vegan Maultschen were delicious, but the salad was a bit too small for the price. The complete range of Weihenstephaner beers, including non-alcoholic ones, is available. Price still ok for the drinks. Unfortunately or fortunately there are few guests. Let's see how long the team lasts

Bavarian beer bar with a very nice, large beer garden, right next to the Lichterfelde West S-Bahn station. There is shandy on tap, roast pork with cabbage and dumplings (formerly €14.50, currently €18.50) and other Bavarian dishes. The crusty roast is hard, the cabbage is vinegary. Kaiserschmarrn only tastes average. I really enjoyed Kellerbier and white sausages with sweet Bavarian mustard from Händlmaier. 🥨🍺. Part of the interior is a very stylishly renovated former railway signal box building.

Great service and the food was delicious (hock and goulash). And the apricot dumplings for dessert were fantastic.

Overall extremely satisfied. Unfortunately no pictures were taken, the duck breast ended up in my stomach without any detours or screen time. I haven't eaten something so good and delicious in a long time. Wow, really delicious, to the point and everything seasoned like heaven. Today we ate a delicious half duck and goose breast with dumpling, red and green cabbage. It was fantastic, absolutely recommended. All the waiters were in a good mood, very attentive, we felt very comfortable. We'll be back!!!

There were three of us for dinner. The waiter was very friendly and the food was great. The ladies had salad and tarte flambée, both were thrilled. I was looking forward to half the duck and was completely satisfied. The skin was very crispy and the duck was not over-seasoned. The breast meat was filleted from the carcass and only the leg and wing still had bones. Since the meat was tender and not dry, the bones came away easily by just gently pressing on the leg and pulling the bone out! Simply perfect! The portions are large and the price is right! I worked as a chef in top restaurants for a long time and can therefore only take my hat off to the chef's performance. By the way, even though I was completely full, I still “had” to order the Kaiserschmarren 😉. Extremely tasty and somehow it also found a corner in my stomach 😉

We were there again this afternoon. The tarte flambée and wine were delicious as always. The interior actually looks very cozy, but it was so cold that not only I but also the few other guests were sitting at the table in their winter jackets. It's been that cold there for a long time and no amount of heat helps. Our conclusion: we'll come back when the heating is repaired or it's warm outside again.

Die Rechnung, die wir ausgedruckt haben wollten, war dreimal eine falsche! Wir kennen diesen Biergarten schon sehr lange, hat sich mit den Jahren immer mehr verschlechtert, auch die Preise sind überirdisch! Diese Lokalität werden wir in Zukunft meiden!!

This WAS a really nice beer garden. Unfortunately, things have deteriorated massively due to the new management. The prices have risen massively and when the self-service area is closed, you can't just drink a few beers because something has to be consumed. Quite honestly: Then I'll look for another place to eat it. That's a real shame and has nothing to do with the old Maria & Josef.

We were in the beer garden with friends on a wonderful late summer evening - as expected, it was well attended but not too crowded. Nice atmosphere, you can tell that effort is being made and the service was surprisingly quick. Drinks and beer were also appropriate and good - certainly expensive but that's every beer garden. In principle everything was rather positive overall but unfortunately some of the staff were very "annoyed". That's why the rather poor rating, because the atmosphere unfortunately didn't do justice to the ambience. The staff tried with a lot of pressure to process guests and orders as quickly as possible. In principle not bad, if it hadn't been for the pressure. There was no sense of cosiness or warmth. When our dachshund moved independently in the beer garden a few times - at a later hour when it was already empty - the owner was called loudly and aggressively and we were reprimanded. When the dachshund went stray again at the end when we were leaving and the beer garden was almost empty, the situation escalated and it became really loud. It's a shame, that's not how hospitality works, so we can't recommend the Weihenstephaner. If you are looking for a friendly and beautiful beer garden, go to the Luise or the Alten Krug. It's delicious, friendly and cozy. That's how service works! And ask about Lilli the dachshund and everyone starts to smile. It's a shame Weihenstephaner, unfortunately the team leader's reactions were very professional: "If you don't have your dog under control, you don't have to come back!"

We had reserved a table for 7 people and were initially seated at a table for 4. When all 7 guests were finally present, the relocation only took place very reluctantly. The unfriendliness and annoyance continued when two people turned half a meter from the table because of the blinding sun. “The aisles have to stay clear, nothing Aha!!!” Without even answering our question as to whether there are parasols or whether we can move around. And the coffee machine was broken and there were no coffee alternatives either. Basically, the reservation was also an act because there was no response to emails or telephone. The waiters are happy to keep their miserable mood to themselves as long as they want to have returning guests and tips. It is advisable to use the self-service area, especially since this staff is at least service-oriented. The waiters can learn a lesson from this.

My husband daughter and her husband came on a Tuesday evening for dinner. The outdoor sitting area was full of life. We sat at a table and ordered the Kalbsschnitzel mit Brezelpanade (breaded veal with potatoes cucumber salad and cranberries), Hax’n auf Sauerkraut (roaster pork knuckle with sour cabbage, dark beer sauce, mashed potatoes) and Klassik-mit Scchmand, Schinken und rotten Zwieden( thin crust pizza with sour, Han, and red onions) The veal was so delicious, especially with a little bit of cranberry sauce added to each bite. The pork knuckle had a wonderful crispy skin and tender pork inner. The potatoes were on point. The service was beyond phenomenal! You will not be disappointed with your visit here!!!

We had a lovely time here! Went to the Biergarten first and then to the restaurant. Portions are really really big (doggy bags were needed) but so delicious! The service was super friendly And the fact that it's close to the S-Bahn made it super accessible. They also brought coloring paper and pens for the little ones. Will definitely be back (used to come here more often 15years ago and happy so see it hasn't changed) 🫶

In July I reserved long tables and benches for 30 people. AMBIGUOUS Very nice beer garden under large trees. BUT: Not an owner-managed restaurant where the boss personally takes care of everything like a hawk, but rather soulless system catering (see Wikipedia for definition) run by an anonymous investor group that runs around 30 locations. The consequences of this can be seen in the negative reviews. One negative consequence: The food is, at best, of assembly-line quality, as far as I discovered after my five visits. It can taste good, but it doesn't have to. (Guests with low expectations are sure to be satisfied.) Conclusion: The first good impression due to the appealing ambience does not hold up to a closer look. I don't want to overestimate the uncomfortable wooden folding chairs (for which you can supposedly get seat cushions upon request): perhaps that can hardly be done differently in a large beer garden. It is the sum of all impressions that ultimately leads to a negative rating.

We were sitting with a group in the beer garden, I was there for the first (and last) time, I didn't know that you couldn't order from the restaurant menu in the beer garden. I completely understand if there is little or no staff on site. It wouldn't be a problem at all if I had ordered in the restaurant, waited, paid and then sat down with my group. But purely on principle that wasn't possible either, because then "everyone" in the beer garden would also want restaurant food. Now the beer garden wasn't overly full and I would be surprised if everyone suddenly only ordered the inn food... So unfortunately it turned out to be a very hungry evening for me, friends had very mediocre fries and a bratwurst roll that was probably quite ok. The wine was delicious, the gastronomic flexibility and memory a disaster. Strange that in the end a coffee that wasn't available in the beer garden could be served...Weihenstephaner service desert, nothing of the Bavarian cosiness and definitely not a recommendation...

I was in Berlin with a friend and a family member from the UK. In total we went on 4 occasions within a week! First time was for a beer after a day of sight-seeing and even though my German isn't great, I found the bar staff very welcoming and helpful with smiles as well. The second and third time was to watch the football and great atmosphere with good BBQ food! Extremely happy with that as well as the staff and Manager even remembering us from the first beers and even good banter too. Final night was a formal sit down meal. Pork knuckle, beer and I even tried the snaps! Thoroughly enjoyed everything about this beer garden. I think it's safe to say I've tried all areas of their beer garden / outdoor dining and was delighted with it! Well done, great staff / Manager and good atmosphere! I'm planning on coming back soon so see you then...

My friends and I went to watch football ⚽️ in cozy Weihenstephan on Friday. We would like to thank you very much for your great service, super nice service staff and great food. We felt very comfortable and would love to come back for a girls' night out.

Wir wollten mit 8 Personen dort essen, sind aber wegen der Übergriffigkeit der sich als Betriebsleiter outenden Person zwei Tische weiter doch lieber ins benachbarte familiengeführte Makedonia umgezogen - eine sehr gute Entscheidung! Wir hatten leise unter uns festgestellt, dass manche Tische im Biergarten nicht sauber seien und eine Reservierung im Internet zwar angeboten wird, dann aber leider nicht angenommen wird. Darauf wurde dies lauthals vom Betriebsleiter in Abrede gestellt und uns letztendlich geraten, das Weihenstephaner zu verlassen. Zu fragen ist auch, warum der Betriebsleiter mit seinem Laptop im Gastraum seine Arbeit macht. Dieses Lokal ist für uns in Zukunft keinen Besuch mehr wert.

Was war das denn? Da sitzt eine Person im Gastraum mit einem Laptop und jeder Menge Papier auf dem Tisch, wie in einem Büro. Es scheint aber, dass diese Person gar nicht arbeitet, sondern die Gäste belauscht. Schnappt sie eine ihr nicht gefällige Äußerung auf, mischt sie sich in das Gespräch ein, korrigiert und belehrt die Gäste. So etwas mag man tolerieren oder auch nicht – wir waren befremdet, fanden besagte Person übergriffig und sind gegangen. Da sich diese Person als Geschäftsführer ausgab, werden wir auch nicht wiederkommen.

My experiences at the Weihenstephaner in Lichterfelde from the Germany game last Wednesday are now forcing me to rethink. Before the game kicked off, the rain finally let up and the operations manager rushed to get a larger television for the large number of guests in the self-service area of ​​the beer garden - so that everyone could see the game clearly. Ultimately, he tried to place it a little higher on empty beer crates so that the last rows could also hear something. When he noticed that the large television he had brought in and the television placed behind it for the restaurant area of ​​the beer garden were running at a time delay, which caused irritation, he briefly asked for silence so that the televisions could be synchronized - which he did perfectly. After he had done all this with a confident calm, despite one or two complaining guests, to the satisfaction and joy of all other guests, he eagerly rushed through the numerous rows throughout the game and cleared the empty glasses with a smile. At the end of the game, as I was getting more tasty beers, I saw behind the rows of beer benches and tables a brazier and some children making stick bread. This also gave the little guests a great opportunity to get through the probably boring hustle and bustle of the grown-ups in an interesting way. I won't even go into the food and drink, which is always good and tasty at Weihenstephaner. What the Weihenstephaner - and of course the other employees as well as the operations manager - did to ensure that all guests had a great football experience was simply great! Thank you very much for that and I'm already looking forward to the next game with you!

We have enjoyed coming here for many years and have never been disappointed. The beer is delicious, and there is often seasonal beer on tap, as well as Bavarian delicacies. You can have a good time in the beer garden, the S-Bahn that runs past it doesn't bother you at all. In winter or in bad weather it is also very pleasant indoors. It only gets quite warm at the windows in summer, but you can also sit outside. The always friendly service should also be mentioned. The bottom line is that this restaurant is highly recommended.

We were guests at the opening game of the European Championship and can't complain. The ambience, the atmosphere, the drinks and especially the food were excellent. We will be back definitely!

Unfortunately, the beer garden really spoiled the start of the 2024 European Championship. 2 screens in different directions, live broadcasts but with a difference of 10 seconds each. We wanted to sit on the other side so as not to lose all the fun and excitement of the game. We weren't allowed in because we were sitting in the self-service area and would have had to order something to eat again in the "restaurant area" on the other side. Anyone who offers public viewing and, after endless sound problems, doesn't even allow guests to watch on the other screen after such a bad mistake... without words. Some of the staff found this very entertaining and watched the screen of the faster transmission while the other guests sat on the other side in a bad mood. Rarely have I experienced something so embarrassing.

I visited the beer garden both times and had to wait 30 minutes both times before I even received a ticket. I tried to reach someone by phone numerous times without success and wrote two emails with my reservation request, which were not answered. Not even with the assurance that the celebration should take place indoors with 14 people. My two emails apparently didn't arrive and didn't get stuck in spam either. And I can write as many emails and inquiries as I want: it doesn't change anything. With older people and a wheelchair and 14 people, I can't just randomly go to a beer garden or a restaurant and expect to find enough seats there. I was particularly horrified by the unfriendliness. Apparently this restaurant thrives primarily on walk-in customers and is not dependent on regular guests. Very disappointing. Auf den ersten Blick gut besucht. Dann fiel uns ein Kellner auf der vollkommen neben der Spur zu sein schien. Redete irgendetwas vor sich hin und schien geistig verwirrt zu sein. Ein junger Mann. Als wir eine Kollegin daruaf ansprachen, sagte sie, er ist aus der Spur und wir sollten uns nicht an diesen Tisch setzen sondern einen anderen nehmen, wo ihr Kollege serviert. Okay, saßen und keiner kam. Es war bereits 20:30h. Als der zuständige Kellner endlich auf Drängen meiner Frau kam, sagte er nur noch Küche sei überlastet, es gibt kein Essen mehr nur Getränke. In der Küche waren Mitarbeiter zu sehen die nicht den Eindruck machten es geht nicht mehr. Also raus. Dieses Gastrogeschäft mit Biergarten war einmal so klasse und sehr gemütlich mit tollen lustigen Personal. Ich weiss nicht wer es übernommen hat, aber es war keine gute Wahl vom Vorbesitzer. Ach so, noch was. Als wir rausgingen hörten wir nur noch ein Wortgefecht zwischen einen Kellner und seinem verwirrten Kollegen er soll hier nicht so viel trinken und seine Arbeit machen. Augenscheinlich war er nicht verirrt sondern schlichtweg betrunken. Unglaublich.

Yesterday around 8:00 p.m. the three of us wanted to eat and drink something. Well attended at first glance. Then we noticed a waiter who seemed completely off track. Was talking to himself and seemed mentally confused. A young man. When we asked a colleague about it, she said he was out of line and that we shouldn't sit at this table but take another table where her colleague was serving. Okay, sat and no one came. It was already 8:30 p.m. When the waiter in charge finally came at my wife's insistence, he said the kitchen was overloaded and there was no more food, only drinks. There were employees in the kitchen who didn't give the impression that it wasn't working anymore. So get out. This restaurant with a beer garden was once so great and very cozy with great, funny staff. I don't know who took it over, but it wasn't a good choice from the previous owner. Oh, one more thing. When we went out, all we heard was an argument between a waiter and his confused colleague about not drinking so much and doing his job. Apparently he wasn't lost but simply drunk. Incredible.

Self-service lasted forever, only one employee, catering our waiter was under drugs, impossible treatment of the guests, anyone who wanted to pay took forever and then had to be harassed, that was the last time in this beer garden, it's a shame that the quality of the employees has deteriorated so much and the operators are dependent on such staff, but what we and many other guests had to experience there is a no-go

Totally overwhelmed with the start of the season. Unfriendly staff. Half of the beer garden voluntarily left the tables due to long waiting times and the loud, aggressive behavior of the waiter in charge. The boss was on tap in the self-service area and had no interest in improving the situation. Instead, he shouted loudly at his beer kegs in the warehouse, so that the other waiters immediately rushed to help. Apparently the boss himself is overwhelmed. He advised us to look for other addresses in Berlin. After many loyal years (even before the name change), this beer garden has unfortunately lost me and my friends.

Nice beer garden right at the train station. Sits comfortably. Price-performance appropriate. Service top.👏👍

Nice little beer garden by the S-Bahn. One area is for self-collectors, one area is with service. Delicious food. It's a little oasis.

Beer garden where you like to stop off. Service was great.
