Super tolles drei Gänge Menü. Das Ambiente war sehr gemütlich und einladend. Der Chefkoch war sehr bemüht um das Wohl seiner Gäste. Immer wieder gerne.

Hier bekommt man eine authentische Küche mit einer Mischung aus alten Rezepten „Omas Küche“ und neuen sehr modernen Noten. Die Speisen werden mit viel Liebe angerichtet und sowohl der Service, als auch der Küchenchef sind steht’s bemüht einen tollen Abend zu zaubern. Vielen Dank und wir kommen immer mal wieder zu euch!!

Wir waren als Familie abends in der Klosterschänke essen und waren mehr als zufrieden. Hier steht Qualität absolut im Mittelpunkt. Das Ambiente ist edel, stilvoll und gemütlich und ganz besonders möchten wir den ausgezeichneten Service hervorheben. Der Küchenchef kam höchst persönlich um sich zu vergewissern, dass wir zufrieden sind und uns wohlfühlen. Wir haben uns sehr freundlich unterhalten und auch die Kinder wurde sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend bedient. Es blieben keine Wünsche offen und wir hatten einen wunderbaren Abend wie schon lange nicht mehr. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder, weil uns der ausgezeichnete Service, die Freundlichkeit des Küchenchefs, die ausgezeichnete Qualität und der Geschmack des Essens mehr als überzeugt habe. Ein absoluter Geheimtipp für jeden der in Bad Herrenalb ist. Vielen lieben Dank für diesen besonderen Aufenthalt.

Let’s be honest: This restaurant is absolutely unique. My wife and I were thrilled. The service is really top. The manager is a real professional and really close to the guest. The chef is also unique. Both seek proximity to the guest. The rest of the service was also great and the atmosphere was very tastefully decorated. Small details. Chosen with passion. Great atmosphere. The food was excellent. The wine too. We haven't felt this comfortable in a long time. Here the guest is a guest and warmly welcome. Thank you for this evening!

Beautiful ambience, attentive and very friendly service. The chef visited us several times and informed us about the food and its preparation. We were also interested in the history of the former Mönch Posthotel and the waitress showed us old flyers and postcards. The old silver crockery and cutlery is also still used. As well as the wine glasses. Great! The food was also very good, especially the sauces and the Black Forest cherry dessert! We'd love to come back.

An unforgettable culinary experience My evening in this restaurant was surprising and wonderful. As someone who enjoys good food, the 6-course menu impressed me completely. Every dish was perfectly balanced: from a dark, creamy jus to a refreshing sorbet intermediate course to tender pheasant and a dessert with a liquid chocolate center - every bite was a pleasure. Particularly noteworthy is the courteous staff, whose friendly and professional manner rounded off the evening perfectly. The excellent wine accompaniment raised the individual courses to a higher level. The ambience, a successful mix of traditional country house style and modern accents, ensured that you felt completely comfortable right from the start. All in all, an evening that will be remembered - it definitely won't be the last time you'll be here!

Had dinner there for the first time today. We were super excited. I have to say that I have never had such a good calf before. As is well known, the eye also eats. It was beautifully prepared and the taste really couldn't be beat! Therefore FULL 5 stars. I promised the chef that too :D I thought it was great that he came to the table. Was in a great mood. A very nice, appealing atmosphere! You feel really good! We were a large group and the waiter was busy. Unfortunately he forgot to add my wine several times and to clear the plate. Therefore a star deduction! Not dramatic but I wanted to mention it! The chef cooked wonderfully and prepared it very nicely. But the menu could be expanded to include 1-2 dishes for vegetarians But we will be happy to come back to pamper our taste buds!

The real highlight of this evening, however, was the food, which is hard to beat in terms of perfection. The dishes were not only visually a work of art, but also a revelation in terms of taste. There is no doubt that a master of his craft is cooking here who knows how to combine flavors in a way that is rarely experienced. Every dish was a firework display for the senses and left nothing to be desired. I absolutely cannot understand the reviews from other guests that the food was mediocre but the prices were like in a top restaurant. Bad Herrenalb has much better restaurants to offer, which are also cheaper. The ambience and coziness outside do not match the prices of the dishes. The tables weren't clean and the chairs were just uncomfortable.

That was a very high level for us, everything was right.

Wonderful. There were four of us in the Klosterschänke today and it was absolutely great. From the ambience, the service and the food, everything is absolutely dignified and fine. A trio of potato foam soups, a Strasbourg terrine with goose liver, porcini mushrooms, Ganache de Fouie Gras de Carnard Rougie and veal sweetbreads as a starter. A real treat for the palate. Then onion roast from Black Angus beef, steaks from milk saddle of veal with morel cream dumplings and spaetzle as well as chanterelle and porcini mushroom pasta. Without exception, we were all very enthusiastic. The chef also showed up twice and had a longer chat with us. A very likeable man with a heart. We used to eat there almost every Sunday when I was young - I almost did my training as a chef there back then (1979). But even today I can say that it was really high-class gastronomy. Keep it up. Gezellige gelegenheid, professionele bediening, heerlijke gerechten met de beste ingrediënten. Het kalfsvlees was goddelijk, de verse pasta met pfefferlinge was eveneens van het beste.

The 200th positive review! In our opinion, the restaurant deserved significantly more positive reviews. We have rarely eaten as deliciously as we did last night. Regionality, taste and appearance are the most important things and you notice that immediately as a guest. The waitresses were very accommodating and always there at the perfect time. The chef takes personal care of his guests. We'll definitely come again. 5 stars, in the absence of a sixth star.

Das Personal, zwei Damen, hat sich mühevoll um uns gekümmert. Wir haben uns alle rundum wohlgefühlt und auch unsere Gäste haben uns alle ein sehr positives Feedback gegeben. Wir werden auf jeden Fall weiterhin sehr gerne Gäste in der Klosterschänke sein.

We got a table spontaneously. Very courteous waiters and really cozy atmosphere. The food was perfect. There are plenty of large portions. Even the chef himself came to the table and asked about the food. A visit here is an absolute recommendation.

Nicht zum ersten Mal, haben wir Anfang Mai erneut einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt in der Klosterschänke genossen. Das erste und einzige Restaurant in der Region Nordschwarzwald, welches gehobene Küche mit dem Angebot veganer Gerichte kombiniert. Die Nähe zur Küche ist genial, so werden auch kurzfristig besondere Leckereien durch den sensationellen Koch Sven König bereitgestellt. Immer wieder für eine Überraschung gut! Wir kommen immer wieder gerne und freuen uns, Saison für Saison die wechselnde Karte zu erschmecken. In unserer Version rein vegan - allerdings kommt hier jeder voll und ganz auf seine Kosten.

The food was very tasty, the sauce from the roast roast was simply great. We would definitely like to come back. No problem with children either. You will be very well served. We had a very nice evening. The atmosphere is very nice, the food was excellent and the waiter was simply priceless. The restaurant was full and only two waiters there, but still very friendly, not stressed and attentive. I ordered asparagus with hollandaise sauce and didn't think that if I made it myself, it would be prepared with raw eggs (I was pregnant). So when the meal was served he told me that they had heated the sauce extra and that I could eat it without hesitation.

I also recommend vegan or vegetarian dishes 😁.

The restaurant impresses from the outside with its inviting and stylish lighting. 🪔 The service was particularly attentive: I was assigned an ideal table away from the noise, which made the evening start pleasantly. The chef personally welcomed us with delicious bread and excellent dips. The food (including several vegan options such as the wild garlic spaetzle) was excellent, prepared in detail and in the perfect quantity, so that even I (1.90 m, 100 kg) was completely full. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, the service warm and courteous, all at a fair price. A wonderful experience that deserves full stars. Highly Recommended!

An excellent restaurant. The stylish guest room creates a pleasantly cozy atmosphere. We opted for the six-course menu. All dishes tasted excellent and the quality of the products was very good. The extremely friendly and courteous boss and his fantastic employees were always present and gave us a very nice afternoon in the monastery tavern. We would like to come again. Highly Recommended.

We were in the monastery tavern in March 2024. We were just as impressed by the cozy and tasteful ambience as the loving regional dishes, which are prepared with a lot of professional honor (rock-solid sauces, perfectly cooked points and well-balanced spice combinations) as well as the necessary creativity. The historical ambience - tiled stove, extremely tasteful and cozy lighting and seating from the monastery era - captivated us. We were particularly positive about the attentive, entertaining and professional service at all times. We (frequent travelers who are used to big cities) would be happy to come back and can fully recommend this restaurant!

We went to the Klosterschänke for dinner on Friday and it was really great. Service is great, food is delicious, value for money is right and the location is lovingly furnished. We particularly like the mix between tradition and modernity, from the dining room to the food.

A wonderful atmosphere! Just sitting here is an experience in itself. The interior clearly reflects the long history of the house without appearing old-fashioned. Historical elements such as the beautiful tiled stove and the hotel silver are skilfully showcased. The restaurant appears well-kept, cozy and elegant. Here you can feel that the work is done with passion and attention to detail. This pattern continues flawlessly in the service and cuisine. We were served really warmly, every question was answered competently and friendly. Wishes were wonderfully fulfilled. The menu is clearly laid out, which speaks for freshness and quality. There was quite a bit of game to choose from. The soup for the starter was wonderfully strong (unfortunately the name has been omitted, but it was based on game) and just right in the rainy, cold weather. The main course was wild hare and onion roast of venison. Both really wonderfully prepared: perfect cooking point, deliciously seasoned, beautifully presented, good portion. For dessert we shared a threesome. The selection here was diverse. Personally, I liked the warm brownies best, my partner preferred the vanilla crescent parfait. The chocolate foam was a bit weak for me, and the presentation didn't quite fit into the otherwise perfect overall picture. Overall, a really nice evening. We were happy to spend every euro here and will definitely come back. As already written: the ambience alone is worth the visit, and the delicious food is the crowning glory of the visit.
