Wir haben die Klosterschänke inzwischen schon mehrfach besucht und sind immer wieder begeistert. Die Klosterschänke hat das Zeug zum absoluten Lieblingsrestaurant. Angefangen beim herzlichen Empfang und aufmerksamen Service von Herrn Bastian, über den wunderschön gestalteten Gastraum, bis hin zu der hervorragenden Küche unter der Leitung von Herrn König, stimmt einfach alles. Auch die Planung einer Familienfeier im April 2024 wurde professionell umgesetzt und alle Gäste waren rundum zufrieden. Da die Karte regelmäßig wechselt, wird man immer wieder mit neuen, außergewöhnlichen Kreationen von Herrn König überrascht. Die Klosterschänke ist immer einen Besuch wert!

We spent our New Year's Eve 2024 as a couple with a 9-course menu in the Klosterschänke Bad Herrenalb. Everything was almost perfect: super friendly staff, well-stocked bar, but just the right number, not too full, not too empty, you never had to wait long for food and drinks, the quality of the food was beyond any doubt, both of those The vegetarian and meat menus were excellent and prepared with a lot of love, the wine was very tasty - it couldn't be better! we'd love to come back :)

wir haben unseren silvesterabend 2024 zu zweit beim 9-gänge-menü in der klosterschänke bad herrenalb verbracht. einfach alles war nahezu perfekt: super freundliches personal, gut gefüllter schankraum, aber genau die richtige anzahl, nicht zu voll, nicht zu leer, man musste nie lange auf essen und getränke warten, die qualität des essens war über jeden zweifel erhaben, sowohl das vegetarische als auch das menü mit fleisch waren vortrefflich und mit viel liebe zubereitet, der wein war sehr lecker - besser gehts nicht! wir kommen gerne wieder :)

We had dinner at the Klosterschänke and I can say with a clear conscience that the positive reviews are fully justified. The food tasted fantastic, from starter to main course to dessert. The restaurant manager is very friendly and chatty, which made the stay very pleasant. The ambience is also very harmonious and offers a pleasant atmosphere. Priced in the upper middle class, but definitely worth it.

First visit to the Klosterschänke and not the last! The atmosphere is very pleasant and cozy. It invites you to spend some lovely hours there and enjoy the culinary delights. The menu is well structured, as is the wine list. This lists very great, including rare, wines. The starter of lamb's lettuce with everything that goes with it (bacon, red onions, pretzel croutons with raspberry dressing) and the intermediate course, double broth of oxtail with an ingredient (Asian oxtail mullet, flädle, root vegetables and herbs), both not pictured; Main course, medallions of venison cutlet, juniper cream sauce, chestnut cranberry butter with mashed potato and Brussels sprouts. Finally, a sweet variation. The quality of the ingredients used are excellent! Thank you Sven König for this lovely culinary excursion.

Erster Besuch in der Klosterschänke und nicht der letzte! Das Ambiente ist sehr angenehm und gemütlich. Es lädt ein um dort schöne Stunden zu verweilen und kulinarisch zu genießen. Die Speisekarte ist gut gegliedert, so auch die Weinkarte. Auf dieser sind sehr tolle, auch rare Weine, aufgeführt. Die Vorspeise Feldsalat mit allem was dazugehört (Speck, rote Zwiebeln, Laugencroutons mit Himbeer-Dressing) und der Zwischengang, doppelte Kraftbrühe von Ochsenschwanz mit Einlage (Asiatische-Ochsenschwanz-Maultäschle, Flädle, Wurzel-Gemüse und Kräuter) beides nicht abgebildet; Hauptgang, Medaillons vom Hirschkalbs-Kotelett, Wachholder-Rahmsoße, Maronen-Cranberry-Butter mit Kartoffel-Rosenkohl-Stampf. Zum Abschluss eine süße Variation. Die Qualität der verwendeten Zutaten sind ausgezeichnet! Danke Sven König für diesen schönen kulinarischen Ausflug.

Two months ago I spontaneously went to the Klosterschänke with my family. The Baden snail soup, one of my favorite dishes ever, was a revelation. The consistency of the soup was uniquely creamy. The main course in the form of sea bass with the beetroot risotto and saffron foam also harmonized perfectly. The only point of criticism was the venison cheeks, which in my opinion were super tender, but needed a little more seasoning. The wine list was definitely top. What struck me as very positive was that there was a real chef at work here who served the dishes himself. This has now become a rarity. I also had a very nice conversation with the chef afterwards, who was able to give me really valuable tips on how to prepare the snail soup, thank you for that. I am happy about every restaurant in which local Baden and Swabian cuisine is still celebrated with elegance. I hope I can be a guest more often in the future.

Yesterday we had a really good time with friends in the new monastery tavern. The ambience is a mixture of old elements, such as beautifully restored wooden beams, an antique tiled stove, original embossed cutlery and glasses, and new elements. All in all, the room concept was very successful. The service is very good and the food also came to the table promptly. The dishes are prepared with a lot of passion and the chef is ready for feedback, ideas and can tell many interesting things. The menu is adjusted according to the season. We will definitely be back and are pleased that the monastery tavern has been given new life.

Hier bekommt man eine authentische Küche mit einer Mischung aus alten Rezepten „Omas Küche“ und neuen sehr modernen Noten. Es blieben keine Wünsche offen und wir hatten einen wunderbaren Abend wie schon lange nicht mehr. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder, weil uns der ausgezeichnete Service, die Freundlichkeit des Küchenchefs, die ausgezeichnete Qualität und der Geschmack des Essens mehr als überzeugt habe. Ich durfte sogar mein Teller auslecken (mit Erlaubnis vom Chef) und das Essen war der Hammer und der Preis rechtfertigt die Qualität auf jeden Fall.. Ich küsse eure Hände…

Beautiful ambience, attentive and very friendly service. The chef visited us several times and informed us about the food and its preparation. We were also interested in the history of the former Mönch Posthotel and the waitress showed us old flyers and postcards. The old silver crockery and cutlery is also still used. Had dinner there for the first time today. We were super excited. I have to say that I have never had such a good calf before. As is well known, the eye also eats. A very nice, appealing atmosphere! You feel really good! We were a large group and the waiter was busy. Unfortunately he forgot to add my wine several times and to clear the plate. Therefore a star deduction! Not dramatic but I wanted to mention it! The chef cooked wonderfully and prepared it very nicely. But the menu could be expanded to include 1-2 dishes for vegetarians But we will be happy to come back to pamper our taste buds!

I absolutely cannot understand the reviews from other guests that the food was mediocre but the prices were like in a top restaurant. Bad Herrenalb has much better restaurants to offer, which are also cheaper. The ambience and coziness outside do not match the prices of the dishes. The tables weren't clean and the chairs were just uncomfortable.

Wonderful. There were four of us in the Klosterschänke today and it was absolutely great. From the ambience, the service and the food, everything is absolutely dignified and fine. A trio of potato foam soups, a Strasbourg terrine with goose liver, porcini mushrooms, Ganache de Fouie Gras de Carnard Rougie and veal sweetbreads as a starter. A real treat for the palate. Then onion roast from Black Angus beef, steaks from milk saddle of veal with morel cream dumplings and spaetzle as well as chanterelle and porcini mushroom pasta. Without exception, we were all very enthusiastic. The chef also showed up twice and had a longer chat with us. A very likeable man with a heart. We used to eat there almost every Sunday when I was young - I almost did my training as a chef there back then (1979). But even today I can say that it was really high-class gastronomy. Keep it up. We got a table spontaneously. Very courteous waiters and really cozy atmosphere. The food was perfect. There are plenty of large portions. Even the chef himself came to the table and asked about the food. A visit here is an absolute recommendation.

Nicht zum ersten Mal, haben wir Anfang Mai erneut einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt in der Klosterschänke genossen. Das erste und einzige Restaurant in der Region Nordschwarzwald, welches gehobene Küche mit dem Angebot veganer Gerichte kombiniert. Die Nähe zur Küche ist genial, so werden auch kurzfristig besondere Leckereien durch den sensationellen Koch Sven König bereitgestellt. Immer wieder für eine Überraschung gut! Wir kommen immer wieder gerne und freuen uns, Saison für Saison die wechselnde Karte zu erschmecken. In unserer Version rein vegan - allerdings kommt hier jeder voll und ganz auf seine Kosten.

We had a very nice evening. The atmosphere is very nice, the food was excellent and the waiter was simply priceless. The restaurant was full and only two waiters there, but still very friendly, not stressed and attentive. I ordered asparagus with hollandaise sauce and didn't think that if I made it myself, it would be prepared with raw eggs (I was pregnant). So when the meal was served he told me that they had heated the sauce extra and that I could eat it without hesitation.

An excellent restaurant. The stylish guest room creates a pleasantly cozy atmosphere. We opted for the six-course menu. All dishes tasted excellent and the quality of the products was very good. The extremely friendly and courteous boss and his fantastic employees were always present and gave us a very nice afternoon in the monastery tavern. We would like to come again. Highly Recommended.

One of the best restaurants I've been to in a long time. The atmosphere is beautiful, cozy and everything is prepared with great attention to detail. We spontaneously reserved a table for Friday evening and got a nice spot. The service was super friendly, attentive and very accommodating - which made our visit a great evening. Last but not least: the food was amazing 🤍 tasted super good, was of excellent quality and prepared with great attention to detail. A visit to the monastery tavern is really recommended. 👌🏼
