Food was super tasty and cooked to perfection. Friendly service. Nice place. I was very satisfied. It's not cheap but worth every cent.

Fish was dry, little to no sauce. I think it was an exception because the food is actually good. It was also too cold in the room for me. Heat a little more on cold days.

After tobogganing in Dobel, we treated ourselves to a refreshment in the monastery barn. We were there for the first time and were thrilled. Great food, great service and the ambience is just amazing. My recommendation: Roasted beef liver cubes in balsamic jus with fried potatoes and a salad plate 😊🤗👌

Sehr kurzfristig bekamen wir noch einen Tisch,… freundliche Bedienung , schönes Ambiente und die leckerste Leber in einer hervorragenden Jus , die ich je gegessen habe. Mein Mann war mit seinem Lamm auch sehr zufrieden. Preis/ Leistungsverhältnis völlig in Ordnung

Was there for the first time in 2017 and was really impressed. Today, December 30th, 2024, I picked up my mother from rehab, we were both very excited. IMPORTANT!!! You should reserve very early as it is very busy.

Sehr schöne Location. Der Service an unserem Abend sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Die Gerichte waren ausreichend und im Gechmack überzeugten sie. Für Kinder gibt es eine extra Speisekarte und zum zeitvertreib Malstifte. Alles in allem ein gelungener Abend.

Wonderful for a wedding anniversary or other celebrations. But we also go there again and again throughout the year. The food tastes great and it was never a problem to accommodate our special requests. The boss is also very personable and the Klosterscheuer is always worth a visit.

Beautiful restaurant with a cozy and elegant atmosphere. We came especially to enjoy a Christmas meal. The goose leg was tender and the chestnuts, dumplings and red cabbage complemented the meal very well! The service was, as usual, very friendly and we are already looking forward to our next visit.

A historic place, beautifully renovated. The food was very good with a good price/performance ratio. It was a bit cold on the 1st floor, a jacket is recommended in winter.

The ambience is really very nice. But no one at our table really liked the food. It was definitely not bad, but still relatively poorly seasoned and tasteless. Unfortunately we had to wait a little longer for the main course. The bottom line is that this restaurant didn't really convince me. It was my first and probably last visit.

Wow, that was a great experience, an old-fashioned, appropriately decorated barn, very courteous staff, fine food, I had a wonderful evening. The liver was very tasty, the wine was excellent, and the staff were very friendly and unobtrusive. A really great experience.

We were there on a Thursday evening. I had an onion roast. Medium fried and so tender and delicious 😋. Really great. My fiancé had Swabian Maultaschen. Were equally good. The ambience: It's a barn in the monastery district, only much cozier.

Yesterday we went there for dinner for the first time with eight people. We had an overall lovely evening. Gladly again.

Wir waren schon am frühen Abend hier, da es erfreulicherweise durchgehend warme Küche gibt. Wir haben uns ein Dutzend Schnecken ( Tipp: deutlich günstiger als 2 x halbes Dutzend zu bestellen ;-) ) als Vorspeise geteilt, die in einem sehr wohlschmeckenden Kräutersösschen daherkamen. Dazu wurden verschiedene frische Brotsorten gereicht - vorbildlich ! Als Hauptspeisen wurden Kässpätzle, 3 verschiedene Fischgerichte mit verschiedenen Beilagen gewählt - sehr gut zubereitet und die Garpunkte getroffen. Das einzige, was einen Hauch Kritik wert wäre, ist, dass die Gerichte sehr "vorsichtig" abgeschmeckt sind - ist vielleicht aber auch der kurenden Klientel geschuldet. Und wir sind ja selber Schuld, wenn wir nicht nach Salz und Pfeffer fragen. Alles in allem ein sehr gelungener Restaurantbesuch - top Service und man sitzt sehr gemütlich in altem Gemäuer mit viel Holz - einfach heimelig und absolut weiter zu empfehlen.

Really nice atmosphere with great service 😊 the food is consistently delicious. If you want to complain about something, perhaps a little more space at the table would be desirable 😉 (hence not full marks here). It certainly wasn't our last visit

We have celebrated our wedding anniversary here twice! Very nice atmosphere, nice people, delicious and original food! Even though the terrace was full, making a reservation wasn't a problem. However, the offer for vegetarians could be larger - therefore not a full 5 stars. We'd love to come back!

Delicious food in a rustic atmosphere and despite the monastery festival and masses of customers, very nice staff

We got a place even without a reservation. Service was quick and very friendly and all wishes were fulfilled. Small drawback instead of the large cola there was a small one and unfortunately the table had stains and may not have been wiped off beforehand. Otherwise, the toilets were also very clean and tidy. Food also tasted very good and came quite quickly.

A good traditional restaurant at Bad Herrenalb, went for an early dinner, had the pork plate with asparagus, which was very good, well seasoned and a good portion. Service was good as we went early, may become slow when full.Good advices on food and drinks.Some flies during the meal was a bit bothering but not to the point we don't enjoy the meal.

Highly recommended restaurant. The beer (the Zwickl) was very good and I ate the best Maultaschen of my life here. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the festive soup in terms of price/performance ratio.

Je suis allée diner au Klosterscheuer il y a deux semaines avec ma meilleure amie. Nous avons eu un accueil au top. On a pu diner même sans avoir effectué une réservation au préalable. Nous ne parlons pas allemand mais nous avons pu parler en anglais, en français et même un peu en italien ;-) Vous l'aurez compris le service était au top. Concernant le repas, rien à redire, juste que tout était excellent et les portions très généreuses. Nous avons aussi pu gouter différents digestifs. Il y a un choix phénoménal...! Merci à toute l'équipe pour l'excellent moment que nous avons passé au restaurant

We went there for Spargel. Food was ok, Spargel could have been cooked some more. Service was a bit slow, took a while for the food to be served. Location is nice, good area to sit outside, but inside is count as well. Haven't seen a bathroom in a long time that had cloth towels to dry your hands

We had a motorcycle meeting in Bad Herrenalb and had dinner one evening with 22 people in the Klosterscheuer. The service was friendly and the drinks were served quickly. I was absolutely disappointed with the beer on offer. When I go to a restaurant called Klosterscheuer, I expect great types of beer, ideally local beer. But then please no Krombacher…. But ok, that's how it is. So, then ordered food, the menu has a good selection. Unfortunately, about 12 of the 22 had almost finished eating by the time the other 10 got their food. The Maultaschen we ordered, as well as the Pfännle, were ok, but nothing more. Both tasted very bland, unfortunately the Pfännle wasn't really hot either. All in all, a nice evening with not so great food. But the service was always nice and friendly.

If you want to eat out in Bad Herrenalb, then it MUST be the Klosterscheuer. Food 10* Service 10* Ambiance 10* A really very good restaurant, perfect all around from our point of view. If you (woman) want a liqueur at the end and are served a nice, soft peach liqueur ;-) then you leave the restaurant very satisfied and like to think back to the beautiful evening with a smile. We wanted to celebrate our wedding in the monastery barn and had specifically made an appointment with the boss to discuss it. Unfortunately, no offer has been received to date. We have now found another location. Still very disappointing, as we had previously regularly eaten in the monastery barn. Of course we won't go there anymore because of this.

“Digestif on the house” We spent our first evening in Bad Herrenalb in the Klosterscheuer and were thrilled. The service was extremely attentive and courteous. The food, we each chose a starter and a main course, was really very good. My favorite person chose liver as the main course. This was tender and buttery. The taste was consistent. I decided on the Maultschen. These also tasted really good. The portions were absolutely sufficient and the price was accordingly fair. At the end, we chose a digestif from the variety of liquors and brandies which, unknowingly, was on the house at the end. We would like to come back. Thank you very much.

We had a really nice experience at the Klosterscheuer. As we were only in the area for one night, it was a great place to get a taste of Schwarzwald cooking. The staff and the owner were very welcoming and very competent. We had a lovely meal and the atmosphere was wonderful.

Unfortunately, on our wedding day (Monday) we had searched in vain for a restaurant... so we became aware of the Klosterscheuer and we were not disappointed!! We haven't experienced such attentive service in a long time!!! At no time did we have to look for a waitress or wait for someone to come by - the table was regularly looked after! (5 Stars) The food itself was very, very tasty and is absolutely recommended. Taste = Top / Quality = Top / Quantity = Top (5 stars) The atmosphere in the barn is really tastefully decorated - very comfortable chairs - feel-good character (5 stars) We also really liked that the boss was present at all times and kept an eye on everything - he also regularly went from table to table and asked about everyone's well-being. You felt very welcome and looked after - that's how it should be! At the end we were invited for a little something (1 piece of cake & an espresso), which was also a very nice gesture. All in all, the 5 stars are more than deserved - that's how gastro works! -> fully recommended!

Overall, we had a very pleasant experience at the Klosterscheuer restaurant in Bad Herrenalb. The atmosphere was inviting and the historical backdrop gave the evening a special charm. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was mostly very good. The “Klosterpfännle” was particularly tasty and impressed with its hearty taste and successful preparation. The schnitzel was quite good, although a bit dry and there was no sauce with the fries, which made the dish a bit disappointing overall. Despite minor weaknesses in the kitchen, the positive impressions outweigh the negatives. The wine list was well stocked and offered suitable accompaniments to the dishes. We will certainly come back and can recommend the restaurant.

Sehr leckeres Essen, gemütliche Atmosphäre, sowohl Drinnen, als auch Draußen. Ganz besonders war allerdings der zuvorkommend Service und die Wertschätzung durch den Chef die wir erfahren haben und die hier gelebt wird, denn wir waren ganz normale Gäste. Die Preise gehen voll in Ordnung und sind eher günstig im Hinblick auf das Gesamterlebnis. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

Service and ambience good. Food zero! Cream of asparagus soup without asparagus is a gray liquid filled with raw ham! If you like something like that...well, unfortunately not for us. Wild garlic ravioli could be found under a thick sauce (?) but couldn't be tasted. Everything tasted average. No reason to come back. Service 👍👍👍
