A successful evening in the restaurant in Bad Herrenalb! The selection of food was excellent, as was the quality of the dishes. The ambience and service rounded off the evening perfectly. The bill was more than reasonable for what was offered. I will definitely come back and recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an excellent dining experience. Absolute top recommendation!

End-of-year dinner with the family. Reservation worked wonderfully. 6 p.m. on time in the restaurant, the goose fat and bread quickly arrived, after 20 minutes we finally had drinks. Drinks came after over 40 minutes. After another 30 minutes we were able to order the food, appetizer after over! 1 hour and 45 minutes. Main course after almost 2 hours and 15 minutes. Dessert after 2 hours and 40 minutes. Food and preparation good, can't complain, just enough in quantity, price in the upper segment. Roundabout, for a Sunday evening, sure, we're not on the run, but we would have ordered a little more now and then if the waitress had paid us some attention. Our entire stay dragged on for 3 hours and 30 minutes, which was definitely too much for a Sunday evening when everyone had to leave on Monday. For the price and performance, we were a little lacking in the extra flair. It felt like the kitchen was a bit overloaded due to the rush at 6 p.m.

The Hotel Lamm is just above Bad Herrenalb in the Rotensol district. The rooms are very large and the beds are really great, I slept really well. There are many seating areas in the hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful. The restaurant is very cozy, the food tastes delicious. The selection of dishes is clear and we like that. The breakfast was good and plentiful. The fresh yogurt was absolutely top notch. We'd love to come back.

Hotel with lovely staff. It is right next to the Black Forest, in a very quiet small town. The exceptional breakfast, especially the cheeses they have. Very friendly staff. Highly recommended.

We spontaneously had a meal at Lamm this evening and were completely thrilled. Nice lady on the phone when making the reservation, then excellent service on site including outstanding food. The prices are high, but that also applies to the dishes and the quality. We would love to come back!

Das Ambiente ist schön, der Service zuvorkommend, freundlich und engagiert. Die Küche fanden wir "in Ordnung", aber kein gastronomisches Highlight, einfach "Mittelmaß". Es stellt sich dann halt die Frage, ob man "dafür" nach Bad Herrenalb (Rotensol) fahren muss und am Ende ca. 100 Euro für 2 Personen ausgeben will? Eher nicht, da müsste die Küche noch eine deutliche Schippe drauflegen.

Nice large room with balcony, great shower. Very tasty food. We ate Provencal fish soup, mixed salad with wild herbs, vegetables and potato salad and, as the main course, Maultaschen. Large selection of wines at reasonable prices. Any time!

We had dinner with 9 people in the evening. Great friendly service, competent and well advised. Food came to everyone at the same time and to a high standard. Gladly again, absolutely recommended.

We went to dinner without a reservation - and too early. No problem, great service, we were seated in a friendly manner and offered an aperitif. We then ordered from a small menu and found out about the incredible wine list from a friendly gentleman at the next table. This came straight away and we received a fabulous red Burgundy from one of the renowned houses at a fair price. Food - Vichysoisse and then venison ragout - was great, the wine came at a perfect temperature, large cinema in beautiful surroundings. A Baden pearl that I wish many more years to come and that we will visit again soon.

Excellent cuisine and menu. We had lunch and dinner and were absolutely impressed. Home-style cuisine, refined and skilfully implemented. Service absolutely professional, fast and attentive. Rooms good value for money! The entire house is very clean and has a harmonious atmosphere. We also really enjoyed breakfast. Not a huge selection, but in our opinion the basic products are of excellent quality. The service overall was very friendly and always reliable, so we felt very comfortable. We would like to come again.

We met some old friends from the US on our Germany trip here. Had a wonderful dinner at the hotel restaurant with great wine. Our top floor room was absolutely perfect with large door like windows that opened to the sky. Just beautiful 😍

Rooms, hotel, food... OK so far... BUT the service is subpar! I had booked online in advance for a business trip. For me alone, a small, cheap single room because I don't need any more and even if my company pays for it, I don't have to waste the money! When I checked in, however, I was extremely intrusively tried to get an upgrade: with a room price of €50, there were additional costs of plus €20 and I had to refuse several times, until the very end (I almost had to be a bit rude here, in my opinion) until the ladies at the reception stopped selling something at the aftersale. I don't blame anyone for the Pils being spilled over the table when I was served at dinner, it could happen to anyone, but if people don't look at me when ordering a high-priced meal, I somehow feel a bit unwanted... But then the highlight was at breakfast: The colleague who is responsible there (coffee is only available from her, nowhere else) stands for over 25 minutes!!!! (Stopped with a stopwatch because it all seemed so outrageous to me) on the cell phone and doesn't let herself be seen in the guest room, ignores every attempt to contact her because she is so deeply immersed in the cell phone that I have to get up to tap her. But since this wasn't an option in the kitchen...: So despite having paid for breakfast, no simple coffee and luckily I had checked out the evening before because during the 30 minutes of breakfast that I was there in total, not a soul was there except for the cell phone addicted lady in the room Kitchen was present... Last visit and I recommend everyone who would like a reasonable breakfast, or even just want to be treated in a pleasant and friendly way, to look for another hotel!

Leider ist die Qualität der Küche abgesackt! Das Restaurant ist einfach schlechter geworden. Kartoffelssalat aus dem Kühlschrank, Hirschragout mit schlechter Fleischqualität, Nudeln mit Trüffel mit schwachem Geschmack. Die Weinkarte ist jedoch immer noch sehr gut und hat ein Hervorragendes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Der Service war ebenfalls gut. Aus diesen beiden letztgenannten Gründen immer noch ein " befriedigend".

The rooms and sanitary areas are clean. The staff and owners were very friendly, accommodating and helpful. Breakfast and other dishes were commendably good. I was completely satisfied. Checking out until 11am is ok. The peace and very good Black Forest air enable real relaxation in a pleasant atmosphere. There are enough parking spaces available. It's less than 15 minutes by car to Siebenbäder Bad in Bad Herrenalb.

Super nice staff, very good food and the rooms are very comfortably furnished and large. I myself slept a bit restlessly the night I was there, but that wasn't the fault of the hotel or the room, it was just me, because it was an unfamiliar environment. I can still highly recommend it.

Traditional business, family-run, idyllic location; In themselves, these are key terms for gastronomic quality. Accordingly, what was it? Ambiance, personal approach, room facilities, restaurant. However, the rooms are not as agreed upon over the phone weeks before (sometimes, it seems, the guest puts more effort into pre-selecting the room than the guest company). In any case, the reception no longer knew anything about an existing room arrangement. Table selection: also agreed in advance by telephone and clearly confirmed: “Table in the niche”. Shortly before we got there, the head waiter made it clear to us that he couldn't drive away the regular guests because of us - understandable, but amateurish in terms of internal communication. The food: I had lamb ragout with vegetables etc. I would have liked to have had the leg of lamb, but I don't see the price of just under €40 as “good-bourgeois”. The ragout(!) that was then chosen consisted, very interestingly, of 2 larger pieces of leg and 3 lamb chops! The cold sorbet after the starter soup, no thanks. Breakfast? Many bean counters think that a pretzel (in Swabian!!) is not included in the hotel budget: wrong thinking!! Otherwise good breakfast.

At the Gasthof Lamm we felt completely comfortable and had a good rest. 👍

We had a very relaxing weekend in a very nice room with a great box spring bed. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the wine list was great. Great wines are offered here at a moderate price. The breakfast was very good and left nothing to be desired. Very courteous staff. We would be happy to come back and definitely recommend the restaurant and the hotel.

The Hotel Lamm: A poem in all seasons - especially the fresh and lovingly prepared food. We have been there several times and so far it has always tasted excellent. We will continue to come. In winter the hotel is also a dream to unwind for a few days. Nice rooms and the breakfast was very tasty and fresh. The quiet surroundings are very nice for walks, especially in the snow.

Wir waren Sonntag-Mittag zum Essen im Restaurant, wir hatten einen reservierten Tisch, mit schöner Aussicht in die verschneite Landschaft . Das Essen kam schnell und war sehr lecker, auf Feinschmecker-Niveau, da kann man auch die gehobenen Preise akzeptieren. Wir kommen sicher wieder. Man sollte übrigens vorher reservieren .

Sehr angenehmes, gut bürgerliches Ambiente. Das Entenmenü war sehr lecker! Die Bedienung war aufmersam und sehr freundlich.

Unser Freund hat im Lamm seinen 60. Geburtstag gefeiert. Er hat mit dem Hotel Lamm eine sehr gute Location ausgesucht. Der Abend war sehr gut organisiert: von einem Snack und Sektempfang im Gewölbekeller, über das fantastischen vier Gänge Menü in einem gemütlichen Nebenzimmer. Das Essen war fantastisch, die Mitarbeiter waren sehr bemüht und hatten immer ein Lächeln auf den Lippen. Wir können diese Location zu 100 % weiterempfehlen.

Wir waren letztes Jahr sehr begeistert vom Gänse Essen, leider wurden wir dieses Jahr sehr enttäuscht . Geschmacklich leider nach gelassen und der Service nicht zufriedenstellend (Essen falsch aufgenommen , beim Steak nicht nach dem gewünschten Gargrad gefragt worden für ein 10 Jähriges Kind und kam dann Medium-Raw am Tisch an , etc.) Zum Schluss gab es dann sogar noch Probleme die Rechnung auf zu teilen , wäre so nicht möglich . Alles in allem leider ein enttäuschender Abend .

Wir sind zu einem Kurztripp in den Schwarzwald gekommen und haben ein Dreitagearrangement mit Halbpension gebucht. Unser Zimmer war sehr gediegen eingerichtet, so wie das ganze Haus. Das abendliche Menü war hervorragend, auch die Weinempfehlung. Frühstück ebenfalls sehr gut. Dazu alle Mitarbeiter freundlich und aufmerksam.

I am staying at this lovely place which was chosen because of the good food write ups. I am happy to confirm that they are very accurate and the staff are very friendly and match the excellent food. Although there was no English menu the staff explained everything I needed to know (although I do speak some German) and this was very reassuring for me. The wine was also excellent and the dessert I chose - a chocolate mouse with a coffee liqueur and expresso was the perfect finale to an excellent meal. I should also add the rooms are very nice and whilst you need a car to get to the restaurant it is well worth the extra few km out of the centre of Bad Herrenalb.

Vriendelijke ontvangst, ruime parking. Mooie, ruime en propere kamers. Ontbijt is ruim en mooi verzorgd met vers klaargemaakt omelet of spiegelei. Mooie omgeving om te gaan wandelen. Dikke aanrader, hier kom ik terug.

Auf der Rückfahrt vom Europa Park hatte ich endlich mal die Gelegenheit das Restaurant im Hotel Lamm in Rotensol zu besuchen. Der Grund warum ich schon seit geraumer Zeit dort hin wollte ist die tolle extrem fair kalkulierte Weinkarte. Ein Blick auf die Speisekarte versprach auch eine gute Auswahl an regionalen so wie saisonalen Gerichten. Unsere Wahl fiel auf ein drei Gang Menu mit Tartar vom Orkney Lachs mit Avocado und Wakame, Entenbrust mit Pfirsich, Kartoffelroulade und Zuckerschoten, sowie einem Minzrahmeis als Desert. Das war wirklich alles sehr gut zubereitet und die Qualität der einzelnen Produkte war einwandfrei. Aber der Hammer sind echt die Weine. Wir hatten einen 2016 Abtserde von Keller für 125€ fast geschenkt, wenn man einen aktuellen Marktpreis von 250-300€ zugrunde legt. Der Besitze Herr Schwemmle empfahl mir dann noch den 2012 Sancerre La Grande Cote, welcher mir fast noch besser gefallen hat. Kurzum, es war ein wunderbarer Abend.

Die Zimmer sind recht schön. Es soll sehr gediegen sein, aber sowas wie einen Kühlschrank oder Teekocher gibt es nicht! Die Kissen sind extrem weich, ich mag das ja, aber mein Partner hätte 2-3 davon benötigt! Im Restaurant werden durchweg gute Produkte verwendet, aber eben wenig gewürzt und wohl an den Geschmack des durchaus älteren Publikums angepasst. Mein Fall wir die Zubereitung daher wirklich nicht. Sehr fad und salzfrei. Aber ich spreche hier von den Hauptgerichten, die Fotoschönheiten sind, nur nicht so schmecken. Die Vorspeisen waren durchaus lecker und die Nachtische waren auch ok. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend und sie machen wohl das Haus aus. Einer der Kellner war sehr engagiert, rannte hektisch herum, macht Witze und lachte aufgesetzt ( „ Was ich kann ich Ihnen noch gutes tun, also im Rahmen meiner Möglichkeiten, denn eine Autowäsche wäre nicht drin...haha ..haha“). Das war etwas anstrengend und nahm dem Abend die Ruhe, aber auch er war freundlich. Nochmals würde ich das Haus wohl nur besuchen, wenn ich ein Zimmer in der Gegend bräuchte, aber als Restaurant ist es wohl nicht für Leute unter 60 gemacht!

Wir haben zwei Nächte im LAMM verbracht und auch dort zu Abend gegessen. Die Qualität des Essen und des Weines war hervorragend, der Service professionell und sehr aufmerksam. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Allerdings muss ich leider einen 1/2 Punkt abziehen, da dass Badezimmer nicht in einem so sauberen Zustand war, wie man es sich wünscht, dass ist ausgesprochen Schade, denn auch das Personal am Empfang war ausgesprochen nett und aufmerksam. Wir würden aber wieder kommen, in der Hoffnung, dass mit ein wenig konstruktiver Kritik an der Sauberkeit des Bades gearbeitet wird.

Nous avons réservé une table pour 20h dans ce restaurant... L’avantage non négligeable est qu’ils parlent anglais et on une carte en anglais... L’endroit est agréable, le service efficace... Nous avons bien mangé... En entrée, nous avons opté pour des escargots et du jambon de la forêt noire et ensuite un plat végétarien et un carré d’agneau... C’était bon et bien présenté... Par contre, le vin rouge au verre n’était pas terrible... Nous en avons testé deux et franchement c’était pas probant...

Sehr leckere Gänseleber, klassische, regionale Gerichte fein zubereitet dazu ein guter Wein. Was willst du mehr. Wir kommen wieder.

Im Badezimmer lag eine leere Flasche vom Vorgänger unter dem Waschbecken. In den Toiletten im Keller war erbrochenes an der Tür in der Damentoilette. Schalen beim Frühstück teilweise dreckig. Bei der telefonischen Buchung habe ich nach einem Bett gefragt, welches ein offenes Fußende hat. Das wäre vorhanden beim Zimmer mit Waldblick. Mein Freund ist sehr groß, von daher nur ohne Fußende. Angekommen, war das Bett unten geschlossen. Neues Zimmer bekommen: Boxspringbett in einem viel kleinerem Zimmer. Zimmer direkt an der Hauptstraße. Sehr laut und an schlafen war kaum zu denken. Restaurant: Waren am Dienstag dort essen. Qualität der Hauptgerichte war ok, aber überhaupt nichts besonderes. Die Nachspeise, eine Creme Brüllee war einfach nur grausam: warm und flockig. Wurde von der Rechnung genommen. Der Kellner erinnerte an eine Sportveranstaltung. Er war so flink im Restaurant unterwegs, dass man wenn er z.B. Besteck brachte nicht mal die Zeit hatte ein Getränk zu bestellen. Am Tag der Abreise war der Check out mehr als kalt. Keine gute Weiterfahrt nichts. Gastfreundlichkeit ist für uns etwas anderes.

Die Weinkarte lohnt auch längere und längste Anfahrten, das Essen ist sehr gut, wenn auch nicht wirklich außergewöhnlich, aber hier haben wir es mit einem Gesamtkunstwerk zu tun, in dem man sich wirklich willkommen fühlt. Ich werde gerne wieder kommen. Einer der exquisitesten „Landgasthöfe“ die man in Süddeutschland besuchen kann.
