Ein schönes Lokal, das gute, frische und regionale Produkte verwendet. Freundlicher Service und großzügige Portionen. Kurz gesagt: absolut empfehlenswert!

Wir hatten ein köstliches Essen, es gab nur eine Bedienung, und Sie ahnen es schon: Alles dauerte etwas zu lange.

Ein sehr schönes zentral in Bad Herrenalb gelegenes Restaurant mit einem gemütlichen Innenbereich und einer großen Außenterrasse. Der Besitzer und seine Mitarbeiter sind allesamt sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Auf der Speisekarte gibt es verschiedene Gerichte mit und ohne Fleisch. Die Rösti sind sehr empfehlenswert und können mit verschiedenen Komponenten bestellt werden. Das Steinpilz-Risotto, die Salate mit dem leckeren Dressing und die Tagesgerichte sind ebenfalls zu empfehlen. Eine große Getränkeauswahl mit sehr fairen Preisen runden das ganze ab. Wir kommen immer wieder gerne zum Mittagessen und Abendessen.

Die Rösti und der Salat waren ein Traum. Selten so gut gegessen. Immer wieder gerne. Ich kann nur jedem Empfehlen, hier zu essen.

Sehr empfehlenswert. Die Röstis sind super und es gibt sie mit verschiedenen Beilagen. Der Salat war spitze. Es war sehr angenehm ruhig und die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Das Lokal selber war sehr urig und gemütlich. Mal was anderes, wenn man nicht nur Giros essen will.

Wir waren heute im Urlaub hier essen. Netter zuvorkommender Service, schönes Lokal. Ich hatte Rösti mit Geschnetzeltes das hat mich leider gar nicht überzeugt. Der Rösti hatte einen extremen Geschmack nach einem Gewürz das ich nicht definieren kann (Pfeffer oder Muskat) und die Soße war auch nicht überzeugend. Das ist natürlich Geschmacksache. Die Leber war gut. Die Nudeln und der Hackbraten auch:)

Eine ansprechende Speisekarte mit Schwerpunkt auf Kartoffelpuffern. Es gibt einige vegetarische Optionen, aber die Kombination aus Avocado, Tomaten und Falafel würde ich nicht empfehlen, da die Zutaten, obwohl schön angerichtet, nicht harmonieren. Der Puffer selbst war wirklich gut, und der dazugehörige Salat war köstlich. Der Service war freundlich, und wir bekamen recht spät, nach der Mittagszeit, einen Platz.

Ein schön und sauber eingerichtetes Restaurant mit freundlichem Kellner. Auf Fragen und Wünsche wurde freundlich eingegangen. Ich hatte das Rumpsteak mit Bratrösti und zur Vorspeise eine Kartoffelcremesuppe. Portionsgröße auf jeden Fall sättigend und preislich sehr bodenständig Es hat alles zur vollen Zufriedenheit sehr vorzüglich geschmeckt. Wer in Bad Herrenalb mal Lust auf die hiesige Küche hat, sollte sich auf jeden Fall hier bewirten lassen.

Riesen leckere selbstgemachte Rösti gibt es hier, der Beilagensalat ist sehr vielfältig und frisch. Der Kellner war auch sehr freundlich. Wir können dieses Restaurant weiter empfehlen.

Leckere Rösti wie in der Schweiz.

Sowohl Tagesgericht als auch Schweitzer Rösti-Teller waren sehr wohlschmeckend. Es war absolut kein Problem für den Wirt eine andere Pilzsoße zu kredenzen. Und: alles wird noch selbst geschnippelt und stammt von regionalen Bauern - was will man mehr. Ein erstklassiges Essen zu günstigem Preis. Sehr empfehlungswert.

On the one hand, I'm glad we don't live here, as we'd otherwise eat here at least once a week, but on the other hand, we're very sad we don't have a restaurant like this in Mönchengladbach. The food is delicious, and the staff is very friendly. They are very attentive and always try their best. They are very welcoming, and you feel very comfortable. Thank you for this wonderful evening and the incredibly delicious food. We'll definitely be back next year! The rump steak, the turkey strips with potato rösti, and the extra fried potatoes we ordered were perfect!

I ordered two beers and they didn't serve me because they said it was meal time and they would only serve me if I bought food. Apparently that's how they make a profit...🥲🥲🥲I don't recommend it!

The coffee was far too thin and tasteless. The Black Forest gateau came from the freezer. When we complained, the response was: "You should have asked beforehand whether the cake was homemade or from a pastry chef." As if anyone in the Black Forest would think that a Black Forest gateau in a restaurant could come from the freezer. 🙄 I wouldn't listen to them when it came to paying, so I turned my back and ran away. 😐 It's a shame, because the restaurant itself is really nice. We couldn't rate the food, as we only had bland coffee and (wannabe) cake.

Beautiful restaurant. The entrance advertises "Coffee and Cake." We actually only wanted coffee and cake, not anything else to eat. When we asked, three types of cake were listed, including a "Black Forest" cake. A slice of Black Forest cake from Coppenrath & Wiese was very disappointing. The coffee—a latte macchiatto—tasted very watered down, as did the foam. When we pointed out the disappointing experience, the staff replied that it was a restaurant after all, and no one had claimed the cake was homemade. It never occurred to me to ask if the cake hadn't just come from a supermarket. Otherwise, the waiter was very curt, put the bill on the table, and walked away in the middle of my conversation. When I objected that the service wasn't good, he simply replied, "He was busy and there were other customers." In this case, we, as customers, simply weren't interested. Too bad...but that's not acceptable!

The restaurant is beautifully located in the heart of town on Rathausplatz. Great ambiance, good food, friendly service, and Thomas, the owner, always takes time for his guests. I highly recommend it.

A recommended restaurant centrally located on the town hall square in Bad Herrenalb! The modern, beautifully and comfortably furnished restaurant offers German-Swiss specialties. In summer there is a very nice outdoor area with shady trees and parasols with lots of seating! The German owner, who will be new in 2021, gained many years of experience in the catering sector in Switzerland (St. Moritz) and now offers Swiss federal specialties! Rösti with a variety of interesting side dishes such as high-quality meat, fish and vegetables are the tasty, versatile offerings in Switzerland! Daily and seasonal offers complement the menu! Excellent wines round off the offer! The rooms are lovingly furnished in every detail and are very modern, including the sanitary facilities! We dined here on Mother's Day based on a recommendation and were extremely satisfied, also with regard to the price/performance ratio! The mothers were offered a free glass of rosé sparkling wine as an aperitif on Mother's Day! We'll be back, we really enjoyed it! The friendly service is also particularly worth mentioning!

Were there for the second time today. What we found really thoughtful was that we each received a glass of champagne for Mother's Day. We were very happy about it. Changing the food wasn't a problem and it was very tasty. Thank you for that. Even when it's busy, the service remains very friendly. We really liked it again. We'd love to come back.

The food, a vesper platter, was good in terms of appearance and taste. The service, that is, the operation, is extremely poor. I think waiting longer than 30 minutes for a Vesper platter is too long. The delivery of the food was so delayed because the waitress was very busy looking after another guest. To my criticism, the waitress just said, “OK, then that’s it.” I didn’t think that was appropriate

Visit on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 in the afternoon The Restaurant Plaza has an ideal location in Bad Herrenalb, directly on the Alb and in the immediate vicinity of the town hall forecourt. On site there are culinary 'Swiss' specialties, the Rösti, with various side dishes - because the potato Rösti is the main focus here in the restaurant. As an alternative to the menu, there are also recommendations from the house on a display at the entrance >> porcini mushroom risotto with a small salad. I had made a reservation in advance by email - in the restaurant I was greeted warmly by the owner and offered a table next to the door - immediately afterwards, I had not yet taken a seat, the owner asked on his own initiative whether this was me with the reservation and after I confirmed, I was then offered another table on which a menu had already been prepared and the tea light there was lit. >> Since I like to drink (sweet) wine and the menu doesn't suggest a selection, I asked the boss for a wine recommendation and he suggested a semi-dry red wine - 0.25l for €7.50. >> Potato rosti, with fried butterfish, creme fraiche herb dip, small salad for €23.00 Summary: After the wine recommendation was brought to me, the boss also asked whether the wine suited my taste :-) Before the main course, the small salad was brought to the table >> delicious salad dressing and I was very satisfied. Then the Rösti with butterfish, very tender and delicious in taste, with the creme fraiche herb dip, rounded off the dish completely. After I had finished my main course, I actually expected the owner to walk through and check on the guests and their wishes, but unfortunately that didn't happen and I had to deduct something from the service accordingly. I would have liked to order a dessert or something similar, but since I depend on public transport and my bus came (only runs every hour!), I had to pay. The Plaza Restaurant has modern furnishings and, in my opinion, the food was very tasty - I would love to do it again :-)

We actually came to the restaurant because of the Rösti, which is supposed to be their specialty. Unfortunately, these were the worst rösti we've eaten so far - especially compared to the original rösti we ate in Switzerland. These tasted far too strongly of nutmeg and were dripping with fat. They are really heavy on our stomachs. The side sauces mainly tasted like garlic, and we still had the taste in our mouths the next morning. The chickpea balls were very dry and couldn't be enjoyed without sauce. The ambience is not very comfortable, plastic table runners made of cotton look on bare, varnished wood, easy-care imitation leather chairs, the light is too bright, the music is too loud, for a while (around 10 minutes) there was a very annoying loud hum of unknown origin in the room hear. Price-performance ratio isn't that great either - if you look closely, side dishes (rösti) are offered with main course ingredients, which end up being more expensive than in other restaurants.

A very exciting concept for a restaurant, it's all about hash browns - I love hash browns; so it fits. The food tastes wonderful, beautifully presented and the waiting times are absolutely fine for something really fresh on the plate. The restaurant is beautiful in a historic house. The host couple is very nice.

We both had the Rösti with smoked salmon. It was much too salty, even though we eat very salty. When mentioning it to the waiter, they didn't react very well. Saying that they can't influence the saltiness of the salmon was a bit ridiculous. They serve the whole dish together, so just put less salt in the Rösti. Not even an apology, very unfriendly and arrogant. I don't recommend this place

We spent a great evening here. The hash browns are super delicious. First there was a small salad that was nice and crunchy. The service was also excellent: the owner looked after us very well and was always there to accommodate our requests. 100% recommendation!

Recommendation. If you like to eat chemical-free, i.e. without powder snow etc., this is the place for you.

We went in yesterday just to have a drink of wine, it was open, a few people were standing outside, drinking and smoking. When we asked if we could have a drink of wine, the lady snorted like a horse and left, and then someone came and said it was closed. 0 culture and we will never go back there and we were looking for a place to celebrate our anniversary. You couldn't just say it was closed... We went there on recommendation.

Was a guest for the second time within a month and again it was wonderful! You sit idyllically on the town hall square in Bad Herrenalb and the boss Thomas is a fantastic host. The menu is well thought out and everything (the best rösti I've ever had) tastes really good. Extremely warm and nice! Next time I'll take pictures and add them here. Definitely try it, people!

We ordered potato rosti with bacon and fried eggs. It sounds like a simple meal, but it was a good portion and nicely presented too. The food was really very tasty

I've eaten there a few times now and it's always tasted wonderful. The portions are large and the quality is good. The service is also friendly and good. The homemade Rösti are particularly recommended - you rarely find something so delicious. Also a worthwhile address for wheelchair users or people with walking difficulties. I would definitely like to come back!

I had a cozy New Year's Eve with a very delicious 3-course menu. The service was first class. I'll be back. After eating here several times, I can say that the other dishes on the menu are also very tasty. The service staff does a very good job. This New Year's Eve was another very nice evening. We had a very nice evening in the Plaza, the owner was nice and easy-going and, above all, very attentive, which is not a given. It felt a bit like “eating out at home”. We also liked the food (especially the meatloaf rösti 👍) and we were given straightforward advice on the options regarding intolerances. Clear recommendation!
