I went there with my husband (who uses a wheelchair) and my mom. The food was very good and the price/performance ratio was completely reasonable for these days. But what stood out was the service; it was so friendly, something you don't experience every day. It actually deserves ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars. Thank you🙏

It's lovely to sit outside in the summer. You can go on bike rides or hikes from there. Stop for a drink before and afterward.

If you expect service and respect, you've come to the wrong place! Despite having a reservation, we were first sent away and then sent up several steps with casual remarks despite being unable to walk. Very disrespectful.

In any case, I can recommend the Klosterschänke.

Birthday party! 17 people, everything perfect right down to the coffee. A guest brings a cake as a gift. We ask if you can cut them. The waitress goes to ask, comes back, yes, €5 per person is charged! Makes 85€! So please don't bring anything with you! The turnover was around €700. I will post this on all internet platforms! Make life beyond reality. The staff was really great! PS: we got the cake cut that way too!

Very nice but be careful if you make a reservation and instead of 10 people there are only 5 since then there is a fine. So you have to let us know at least 2 days in advance if you have fewer people than ordered.

It's really hard to get a table here without a reservation. The Klosterschänke has been known and popular for many years. We were lucky to get a table without a reservation, but it was loud, full and therefore unfortunately not really a place to enjoy, because the food is of course very good and should be enjoyed in peace. The prices are high quality, but so is the food. Afterwards we recommend a walk along the Mulde. All in all, a nice place if you can dine there outside of peak times. The staff here also does a lot, is friendly and quick and keeps an overview.

I had dinner with friends yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. Friendly service and very tasty food. Home cooking at its best. Very tasty and worth every euro.

The food was a delight. I had wild brawn with fried potatoes with an excellent remoulade sauce and a delicious salad. Price performance is right. The service was friendly and very attentive. We will definitely go here again to dine, really highly recommended.

We were there as a family with children. We were warmly greeted by a young waiter. We sat outside and were immediately provided with drinks. The food was very good, nicely prepared including the large salad ;-) Our children were very enthusiastic, my husband had a schnitzel with fresh mushrooms, which was also very tasty 😋 .. By chance we drove past the day before and were very happy that we went to the monastery tavern. Keep it up!!! Thumbs up!!! We'll be back next year..

The food was very good. But the wait for the food was a disaster. We waited almost two hours for the food. This was an imposition, especially with children. There was also no warning or apology.

Basically everything is good. However, we waited over an hour for the food. With two children. And after registering long in advance. 11.30 a.m. at the restaurant, booked a tour of the ruins at 1 p.m. Received food at 12:47 p.m. (after being informed that we have an appointment). It's a shame, because everything else is good.

Bad rating(s) incomprehensible. I found it perfect, service perfect, special request for dessert was also possible, toilet perfect and nice and rustic, you feel like at home😁. I love restaurants where everything is right, keep it up ❤️.

I can only recommend it, the food is super tasty, the service is extremely friendly and attentive, I can understand why you have to make a reservation there... again at any time...

The friendly staff had everything under control given the heavy rush at Pentecost. The reserved seats were available on time, the order was taken immediately and a short time later the ordered dishes were lovingly arranged on the table. The portions are generous and everything tasted very good. The price Performance ratio is right. We would be happy to come back and would be happy to recommend the restaurant in an idyllic location on the Mulde near Grimma.

The kitchen is closed on Sundays and public holidays from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

A sunny day, a very nice tour of the reconstructed hunting lodge in Kössern and then a very good meal in the monastery tavern - what more could you want? Katja, our friendly and super-fast service rounded the whole thing off. Thanks to the entire team.

Very good food, nice beer garden, nice staff

Beautiful, rustically furnished restaurant with friendly staff. Food was great. We had schnitzel and asparagus. We recommend. You have the opportunity to take a short walk. The monastery ruins are right next to it. A few minutes walk further the Mulde. Here you can take the cable ferry to Höfgen and look at the tranquil town with the old water mill or take the passenger boat along the Mulde to the suspension bridge.

Delicious food, quick service and a lovely destination. We like to stop here.

A wonderful inn that left us 100% satisfied. There were 10 of us on Father's Day, including 4 children. We were warmly welcomed and looked after very well. The children received creative menus and colored pencils. We were kindly informed that it would take a little longer today because everything was full. No problem. Everything was totally within the framework and was understandable. We ordered a wide variety of schnitzel, noodles, fish fingers and a grill pan. Everyone was totally satisfied. The only drawback was the frozen strawberries on the cake. But that wasn't a huge deal for any of us. The rest was just too good for that :) We will be back definitely

An experience in every respect. Everything your heart desires is there. Friendliness, very good cuisine and wonderful relaxation, as there is a beautiful walk along the Mulde.

We were there on a Friday, it was busy but still cozy. The waiters stood out with their warm, open-minded nature, you could tell that they were professionals. The veal schnitzel was first class and beautifully tender. Anyone who likes a rustic, cozy atmosphere is in good hands there. We'll definitely come back and enjoy the delicious food in the beer garden.

An extraordinarily good monastery tavern! The food tastes excellent and the service is very friendly and fast! I had roulades with potato dumplings and red cabbage and they were simply great! Probably the best potato dumplings I've ever had. The rest of the group received very good feedback about food and hospitality. From a price-performance perspective, the prices charged are completely justified. Next time I decided to try the grill pan because it looked very tasty too. All in all a very good experience!

Super small, cutely furnished restaurant, there were 5 of us on the road at short notice and luckily we got a table. You should probably call beforehand or ask if something is available, it's true on Saturday evening and you would have a larger company in there, maybe that's exactly how it is with them table but at other times really super nice waitress great food thank you very much

Erstmal positiv: trotz voller Kneipe noch nen Platz bekommen obwohl wir reserviert haben Negativ: Hatte Königsberger Klopse bestellt, erstmal wartest du eine knappe Stunde bis dein Essen kommt, geht garnicht, dann schmeckts nach nix. Da schmeckt jegliche TK-Kost für 1.99 ausm Regal besser als der Dreck. Schnitzelpanade gehört sich eigendlich braun und knusprig, ist in den Schuppen nicht der Fall, lieblos wird das Fleisch auf die Lapprigen Pommes geklatscht. In jeder Kneipe gibts zu einen 0815 Schnitzel Gericht wenigstens nen Salat dazu, gabs hier auch nicht. Salat war bei mir dabei, da war aber auch das Dressig fehlanzeige, ich weiss nicht wer es geil findet auf nem trockenen ranzigen Salat rumzubeissen, also ich nicht ;) Für ne Flasche billig Wasser 1 Liter über 6€, geht garnicht. Fazit: Absolut überteuerte möchtegern Kneipe die am Arsch der Welt ist, es schmeckt 0, absolut keine Empfehlung. Geht lieber woanderst hin da habt ihr mehr davon.

Great historical atmosphere and nice staff. Food was good but not quite fair to the high price. I had a roulade for 22.90 which was okay. My wife had a sauerbraten for 22.50 which wasn't but a normal roast pork and not very seasoned. Our question was answered with a shrug of the shoulders...

Eine zauberhafte Gaststätte in einer schönen Gegend so das man das Essen beim spazieren gehen verdauen kann.wir besuchen mehrfach im JAHR vor allem im Sommer dieses Ausflugslokal.das Essen ist immer sehr lecker.am 24.10 waren wir zum Entenbraten esse zu Gast. Leider waren wir sehr unangenehm überrascht vom Essen..Als Koch sollte man doch das Essen wenigstens am ausehen einschätzen können ob es noch zu einem Genuss für den Gast werden kann oder am Geruch...bei den Preisen kann man das doch erwarten.

Eine urige Gaststätte mit deftigen deutschen Gerichten. Meinerseits kann ich die Forelle empfehlen. Einfach köstlich. Als Nachtisch dann einen heißen Schokoküchlein mit heißen Kirsche. So schmeckt das Paradies. 😍

Lecker Essen, nettes Personal, leider kein Internet hinter diesen Mauern.

Wir waren zum ... mal in der Klosterschänke, diesmal zu einer Familienfeier. Die Räumlichkeit optimal eingerichtet, inklusive Freisitz und viel Platz für die Kinder. Die Bedienung flink, aufmerksam und sehr freundlich. Das Kaffeetrinken sehr gut, viele verschiedene Kuchenangebote und von allen reichlich. Dann noch Eistorte, damit bis war der Nachmittag essentechnich abgeschlossen. Zum Abendbrot ein vielseitiges sehr gutes Buffet. Die ganze Feier in der Schänke war rundum gelungen.
