Gasthaus "Zur Wassermühle" in Grimma

We ate here at the Wassermühle on Boxing Day and New Year's Day and were given a very friendly welcome. The different rooms radiate a lot of cosiness. Drinks ordered came immediately and there was something for everyone on the small menu. It was very nice that some of the dishes were served as senior portions. The very tasty food came very quickly and people often asked if everything was OK or if anything else was needed. Highly recommended are the seasoned deer meat, the roast deer and the schnitzel with mushrooms. We felt very comfortable, the service was very friendly and we were up for a bit of fun. One thing is clear, we will come back more often because we feel very comfortable here. A big thank you to everyone who gave us wonderful times over the two days. Food 5 stars Service 5 stars Ambience 5 stars I clicked on it, but didn't take it over.

A very cozy and warm inn near the beautiful Mulde. We came here for a café and cake after a short hiking trip and were really surprised. The warm food also looked good, next time we will definitely eat something hearty. I am happy.

We were there with 20 people for a birthday party (drinking coffee) and felt very comfortable. The staff was very friendly, the service was great. One of our guests (with a walker) particularly praised the disabled toilet, which was excellently equipped.

In contrast to Nimbschen Monastery, both the price/performance ratio and the friendliness of the staff are right here. Our own beer and homemade liqueur complete the overall package. Highly recommended.

Were there for the first time, the service is very nice, the area around the Mulde invites you to take a walk. Only the prices were a bit high but it tasted very good.

Very nice restaurant, with many separate rooms and a large dining room in the roof. Delicious food from the small menu and seasonal dishes. Everything prepared with love. Not cheap but worth every cent.

My wife and I were guests at this restaurant last night and were absolutely overwhelmed! We were greeted by a nice kitchen employee on the ground floor who kindly pointed out to us that we would be served at the chaff bar that evening. A great, warm atmosphere awaited us upstairs and two ladies who were able to serve all guests in a friendly and courteous manner without stress. It should be noted here that the large dining room was almost completely occupied... The menu is adapted to the autumn season with great dishes, which we really liked. The dishes we ordered were all freshly prepared and very tasty! The price-performance ratio is absolutely justified here and we can only warmly recommend the restaurant! The bad reviews about the restaurant are all older and probably come from a time when the restaurant was run by a different owner. You don't need any detective skills to recognize this. Today we went on a nice hike in Grimma and the surrounding area, a nice surprise was the cuisine in the water mill, great food, friendly staff and a very nicely developed house, with a playground and a walker or balance bike, friendly path, I thought of all ages Have a wonderful Sunday, 🙏

Despite a reservation with a person in a wheelchair, a more or less suitable space was only cleared when we arrived, leaving hardly any room for maneuvering. When we asked, we were moved to a place that was easy to reach with a wheelchair but offered less space for service. It was almost impossible to eat enough, but there was the option of taking the rest with you. Unfortunately, there was a larger group of guests in the same room which filled the room with very good sound so that we could no longer understand our own words. We would have liked to have another dessert, but ended our visit because the noise was unbearable.

We went to a celebration at the Zur Wassermühle inn with a group of about 20 people on a Saturday evening. There is a parking lot right in front of the house, another, larger one about 5 minutes away on foot. There is a very pleasant atmosphere in the building as the rooms are decorated with wood and the lighting is warm but not too dim, but very pleasant. There are different rooms that have their own names. We were upstairs under the roof, where it wasn't full despite being a Saturday evening. We were there for coffee and dinner. The selection of cakes on the menu isn't too big, but it's completely sufficient. I had Saxon egg pie, which was very tasty. There is a larger selection for dinner, although for my taste there could be more vegetarian dishes on the menu. I had the Mediterranean pasta pan, which I highly recommend! The taste, the quantity and how it was prepared was really great. In my opinion it's rather expensive, but worth the money. We were accompanied by friendly and humorous service with an attentive team. Overall, a successful stay in a recommended guesthouse! Addendum: We had some older people with us who had some problems climbing stairs. I didn't notice an elevator, but I didn't pay attention to it either. You would have to ask.

At first glance we found the outdoor space inviting. Unfortunately you weren't allowed to stay here, but we were given an extra room in the guest room, so we had to ourselves. The service was very friendly, helpful, especially with the cakes on offer, thank you again, the coffee and also the cake tasted delicious. The atmosphere was inviting. Price/performance was okay.

Today we had a little family celebration in the pretty chicken coop. The water mill is quite cozy and the chicken coop is quite intimate with 10 people because you can close the door. The food tastes quite good, but the price is on the higher side. Good attentive service! I would be happy to see more vegan choices. One dish on the menu is not enough. Many thanks to the team. We'd love to come back!

Really beautifully done. Great facility, great food, great staff. You'll be happy to come back there. There are different floors and "hidden" tables. The decoration is lovingly placed, with many interesting objects.

The spiced meat was really tasty and priced at the higher end. Unfortunately, the service leaves a lot to be desired and as a guest you feel more annoying than welcome. Unfortunately this happened again on the second visit. I hope the innkeeper takes the criticism as an opportunity for discussion within the team.

We went to a birthday dinner at the “Zur Wassermühle” inn in Höfgen on September 1st, 2024. The food was very tasty, the atmosphere was great, we were able to sit on the terrace in the beautiful sunshine. Many thanks to the entire team for the wonderful hours in your restaurant.

The Wassermühle restaurant offers everything a guest could wish for. Friendly staff, tasty food. A small but very attractive menu is offered. Apparently the food is freshly prepared. Nevertheless, we didn't have to wait long for our food. We found a very nice outdoor space in the middle of the Muldenaue nature. A small children's playground is also available. The high standard of the restaurant in a great ambience of nature and buildings justify the corresponding prices. The Wassermühle restaurant is a great destination or starting point for hikes.

Great location, delicious food and good service. Everyone in our company enjoyed it and we found something great for every child.

Despite the school day celebration, I still got two cookies. Delicious plaice and tomato salad. For dessert, ice cream that was fresh and served with real whipped cream. Staff very friendly and attentive.

Not easy to find the parking lot, but it's possible. Food was good but I still saw (schnitzel with cauliflower) that there was fresh and older cauliflower on my plate. You can see that some of the florets were white and the others were pale and glassy. A bit sad for €27.50 I friendly service.

Went there for coffee on Whit Monday. Had ordered a table for 6 people. The coffee came very quickly. But the waitress (a bit strong, full shoulder-length hair in a dirndl) had an unprofessional demeanor. The 6 hot coffee cups were handed to the first guest at the front of the table and had to be passed across the table to the other guests. I don't want to drink coffee that has already been through 3 hands. She was too comfortable to walk around and serve every guest. And in a hotel with a high price category. Maybe the employees should be trained before they are let loose on the guests. This restaurant is just a tourist trap!!!

The staff was very friendly and nice. The “green meadow” cake was wonderful! Light but very tasteful. I saw beautiful food at other tables. Unfortunately we didn't have much of an appetite that day as we snacked well during our hike, but next time we will definitely enjoy food too. The automatic doors were cool 😎

There was even a smaller portion if you wanted if you couldn't manage the otherwise very generous portions. The price-performance ratio was also absolutely top, as was the service. Very tasty food. Unfortunately for vegetarians there is only one dish on the menu. But at least it tasted excellent. The cake for dessert as well. The atmosphere is pleasant, as is the service.

Unfortunately the quality has declined. Nice ambience and great surroundings. But the quality of the food was better on a previous visit. The potato soup and the salmon pan were particularly subpar. It's a shame, because you shouldn't waste a location like this with the surrounding area by eating poorly prepared food. Unfortunately we won't be coming back for a while. Especially considering the new prices, it doesn't make sense. Then it's better to cook something yourself that tastes good for a quarter of the money.

It's a shame if the staff is annoyed. Even if you have a closed party, you can tell the guest politely and not treat them like they are stupid.

We only went for coffee, but we were really impressed by how the ice cream was made. It is cozy and very friendly. Now I'm no longer surprised why it's so crowded when we walk past in spring and summer.

We had a good meal in the oxen stable. But it would also have been possible in the chicken coop or on the hay barn, which is almost a separate restaurant. The menu is not exactly cheap, but the food is tasty and plentiful. So you can't complain but you can come back. However, you should register, otherwise you might find yourself in front of the sign: "Closed due to overcrowding".

Super cozy inn with friendly and competent service. Rump steak is highly recommended! Unfortunately half the duck was very tough, But the dumpling and rook cabbage are super delicious! The ice cream sundaes also taste fantastic!

Die Wassermühle kann man wärmstens empfehlen. Das Ambiente ist toll. Auf der Karte ist für jeden etwas dabei. Da brauch es auch keine drei Seite an Hauptspeisen in der Karte. Ein mit viel Liebe restauriertes Gasthaus. Es gibt ganz viel zu entdecken, die liebevollen Malereien im Ochsenstall, die Bar, die Lampen, so viele Details, die letztendlich ein perfektes Ganzes ergeben. Das Essen ausgezeichnet und der Service freundlich und flink. Nur zu empfehlen!

Den Hochzeitstag meiner Eltern, nahm ich zum Anlass, um in der Wassermühle ein Tisch zu reservieren. Angekommen, bot man uns bei schönststem Wetter einen Tisch auf der Aussenterrasse an (obwohl wir für drinnen ein Tisch reserviert hatten). Das Personal ist überaus nett, beratend und wirklich flink. Die Getränke und das Essen wurden zügig gereicht und schmecken vorzüglich.Die Portionen sind definitiv zum SATT WERDEN - die Teller sind gut gefüllt und wirklich toll hergerichtet.Der Innenbereichen ist sehr neuwertig und modern eingerichtet. Im Aussenbereich sitzt man ganz ruhig und idyllisch. Auch unser Hund hat kein Problem dargestellt und wird gern gesehen. Fazit: tolles Restaurant, dass ich zu jeder Zeit weiterempfehlen und selbst wieder besuchen werde!

Service war sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich, die Schweinemedaillons innen zart und außen knusprig gebraten. Insgesamt sehr geschmackvoll. Preislich etwas gehobener, aber für die Qualität zahlen wir das gerne. Küche schließt leider schon um 21:00, wodurch sich die Nachspeise nicht mehr ausging. Haben uns jedoch sehr wohl gefühlt 😀

Sehr schönes Gasthaus innen wie außen. Wir wurden sehr nett bedient. Das Essen hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Alles war sehr sauber. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Eher überdurchschnittliche Preise fürs Essen. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis fand ich unangemessen! Rindergulasch mit Knödeln 26 €. Ohne jegliche Beilage oder Salatgarnitur. Dazu noch 2 € Aufpreis, um Knödel gegen 2 Köße auszutauschen. Also insgesamt 28 € fürs Essen! Wir würden dann nächstes Mal eher woanders essen gehen.

Essen war sehr lecker. Preis - Leistung passt vielleicht ein wenig nicht. Im Verhältnis zum Preis sind die Portionen für einen hungrigen Erwachsenen eine Spur zu klein.

So stellt man sich Service vor! Wir haben draußen gesessen. Nur die Sitzkissen mussten wir uns selbst organisieren. Diese könnten an einem zentralen Ort zur Selbstbedienung abgelegt sein. Die Schweinemedaillons sind ein Gedicht. Der Blick Richtung Mulde ist sehr entspannend. Der zentrale Parkplatz ist in ca. 3 Minuten zu erreichen.

Toller Service und lecker Essen.

Wer mal schnell was zum "futtern" sucht und nur "zweemarkfuffzsch" hat, ist hier definitiv falsch. Hier nimmt man sich gerne Zeit, um im angemessen Ambiente zu speisen. Der Service ist vorzüglich und weder zu unaufmerksam, noch zu aufdringlich. Das Essen ist ebenfalls vortrefflich und lässt keine Wünsche offen. Ein absolutes Geschmackserlebnis war auch die Nachspeise. Preislich mehr als gerechtfertigt und man gab gerne Trinkgeld. Wir freuen uns auf den nächsten Besuch. Vielen Dank 👌

Spontanes Abendessen mit unserem Besuch aus Berlin. Dieses Essen war einfach vorzüglich und auch reichlich. ( z. B. Reh / Rinderbäckchen / Hirsch ) Das Ambiente, sauber, modern & gemütlich. Die Bedienung, 2 aufmerksame & super freundliche Damen im Dirndl, so wie ich es aus der Schiffsmühle bereits kenne und gewohnt bin. Wir kommen gerne wieder.
