The tastiest fries I've had in a long time!

It was one of the rare affordable places to eat in the city, I still paid much money for me, but it was my wrong choice of order. For fast food it offers lots of options, definitely worth to visit!

Terribly rude service. Waited at the counter for a while even though no one was there and there were two staff at behind the counter. When he finally asked us for our order, he did not write anything down or even acknowledge our order, and then claimed we didn't order any fries when we asked where our two portions of fries were missing. THEN he tried to charge us extra for a portion of big curry wurst we definitely did not order, and started arguing with us that we did. Eventually he asked his colleague and she confirmed that we didn't order it and rudely gave me the cash back. Foodwise, the fries were good but that's about it.

Even though it was very crowded, I was able to order two caipirinhas right away during happy hour. They also had a decent amount of alcohol in them. Paying by card was no problem. A two-euro deposit per glass. Otherwise, I don't think you'd find a caipirinha for €2.99 anymore, hilarious! Otherwise, the prices on the menu generally seem very fair. Definitely worth a visit!

A top spot in Hamburg if you get a little hungry at night. Fast, uncomplicated, easy to reach, and super friendly. From fries and burgers to sausages, they offer a variety of tasty dishes – including vegan options. Highly recommended!

There's no better place in Hamburg for fried potatoes, burgers, etc. in St. Pauli. A raucous but welcoming atmosphere. A meeting place for the whole family.

At night I dragged in a currywurst with fries

I like to go after my bar shift and have the waitresses yell at me. 5/5 adrenaline rush! I love it!

Anyone who needs a filling snack late in the evening will be rewarded here: not only with traditional snacks, but also with extremely friendly staff! Even when packed, the fries were still extremely hot after a few minutes! Treat yourself!

Salimos de un bar lleno de humo, justo detrás del paseo marítimo, con la recomendación de encontrar este lugar, como el lugar al que los lugareños "van". Con una cola afuera, fue como la encontramos. Dos señoras maduras, cocinaron todo a la orden, mientras charlaban con todos, luego encontraron a un tipo frente a nosotros era de Leeds, vivió en Hamburgo 10 años, pero este era su lugar de elección. La comida estaba caliente, emplatada y sabía bien. Excelente relación calidad-precio.

A great address for an authentic German bar experience. It's a bit small, you may have difficulty finding a place, but the aura of the place and the attitude of the employees were very friendly, even though I did not speak German. The food only had a little sauce, I also asked for ketchup and mayonnaise and they put too much of it. I couldn't eat some of the potatoes that were drowning in sauce. :)

A real hit if you want an authentic German bar experience! On one side the game is played on a large screen, on the other there is beer and sausages. Prices are pretty cheap, but the place is very small - you might have trouble finding a seat. It's so tight that sometimes you have to ask other guests if you can sit with them. The portions are very filling.

If you want to talk about a Michelin-starred kitchen, you've come to the wrong place, but here you get really great, crispy fries and a real portion of mayo and ketchup. Nicely seasoned and the quantity is excellent! Another real snack with class! I can only recommend it! Fries clear 9.5/10!

A quick Google search put this place into my view. A local's spot off the main-drag with a bar. There was constant arrival of families on Sunday all coming for the range of sausages at a fair price with delicious crispy fries. The mildly cantankerous attendant didn't give us patience when delivering our best attempts at ordering in stuttering German. But thankfully the food was not as frosty as the welcome.

We love it! Hearty snack food, crowded, authentic and extremely hard-working staff :-) But toilet paper could be refilled ;-)

Absolute recommendation if you are traveling on Pauli in Hamburg! We love coming here with friends and it's a MUST stop by for a nightcap. The best Mexican in the city is definitely here!!! And the fries are fantastic too. The prices are unbeatable. 🫶🏻

A hot dog at 1:00 a.m. for around €4 is already clean. It was a bit small, but you can't complain about the fact that they stay open until 3:00 a.m.

The shop is already cultural in Hamburg and very popular in the evening. The food consists of hearty German cuisine with vegan options. You can go out here very cheaply, we paid €2.99 for a decent Caipi.

A cult favorite on the Schanze district, of course - I always enjoy coming here. Be it during the week for some delicious fries and a beer after work or on the weekend with friends. The food is always fresh and delicious, the staff always friendly and typically North German (you have to like that, of course ;)). I also find the prices very fair and reasonable; a highlight is Calpi Friday, for example, when cocktails are available at a discount. In the summer, you can also sit on the outdoor terrace and end the evening (or get really drunk and then head out onto the Reeperbahn, which is within walking distance, or into Hamburg's other nightlife). I'm not the only one who thinks this, so it can get very crowded in the evenings, especially on weekends, and you can't always get a seat during the short break (surprise - the name says it all). Especially not as a group. So come early or take advantage of the numerous alternative seating options in front of the restaurant (bollards, curb). In summary: Many thanks to the team – keep up the good work and stay the way you are, I always enjoy coming by! :)

Great snack bar with uncomplicated people behind the counter. They know how to throw out a cheeky joke and do it with a lot of routine. I'd love to come back.

Very funny, because they have super tasty fries and a great vegetarian burger, the place is very successful and it is very busy, you have to keep that in mind. But it also has a cute outdoor area that is covered. The cashier is very bold and sassy and always slaps the mayo on the fries carelessly like canteen mashed potatoes, but I find that very amusing

Very nice little shop with humorous employees behind the counter who are happy to join in on the fun. The offer includes delicious food and many alcoholic drinks. Next time we're back in HH, we'll take a break during the short break 🙂

Having become aware of the Little Break through a documentary, it was supposed to be the nightly snack after seeing a musical. Overall rather disappointing. Despite the manageable number of other guests, it took forever to even place an order, and preparation then took a very long time. The food was okay but nothing special, just a lower snack level. Overall, you didn't feel welcome but rather like a nuisance.

The prices of the hamburgers are a bit high considering the taste of it.

Great place for fries, currywurst, meatballs and beers before the game, at Millerntor. Then full of fans. Small winter garden in case it rains again.

Very nice and welcoming staff, delicious food with good quantity

The currywurst was tasty, but there were problems with the spaghetti napoli. While the currywurst was served after 20 minutes, the spaghetti took over 1 hour and 23 minutes. After several inquiries we were told that the order had been forgotten. When the spaghetti finally arrived, it had a spoiled taste that neither I nor my friends could eat. I ended up only being able to take one bite of it. Even though we complained, only an apology was offered but no refund. It's a shame because the currywurst was good, but the pasta was disappointing.

We ate here after the Highnachten concert. The quality was great and the price was extremely fair! Everything was super fresh, even at 1am! The service was excellent, we sat down and the staff immediately came and cleaned the table. All in all, we received great service and were happy with the food! Gladly again :)

The mayo is great, otherwise there is nothing positive. You can also go to Mecces…

The best fries in the neighborhood! Always delicious, always fresh, always friendly, no matter how full the place is! Vegan offerings are constantly being expanded and improved; Nowhere else does veg mayo taste so good! Definitely go there!

As usual, the dishes are solid and uplifting. The service at the front counter as well. The direct but honest manner is the special spice of the shop. Unfortunately, the service at the bar counter didn't understand anything about this: the offer that had been discussed fairly, nicely and clearly in advance when ordering a drink was not kept and later the change was cheated out of €5, unfortunately noticed too late. I felt like I was being served by a listless teenager. I've had the store in my heart since I was a teenager, but experiences like this make me think the break is past its peak. Thanks for the good moments – I'm through.

Crispy, salty fries, plenty of mayo, fresh salad on the burger... THIS is honest fast food! Unhealthy, greasy, not star-rated cuisine... but just the thing when your stomach urgently needs carbohydrates after partying. The audience and ambience are like the surrounding neighborhood, beautiful and ugly at the same time.

We came especially from distant Langenhorn 😁. As always we were not disappointed. The currywurst with fries and the awesome sauce, simply amazing, or as they say today, epic.

Cult snack bar, great offerings, easily accessible on foot from the neighborhood, you just have to stop by.

Back then (early 2000s) I was still living in the Schanze and happened to stumble into the break. It was love at first sight. :-) I was impressed by both the food and the girls behind the counter on my first visit. This warmth is unique. I now live in Austria but every time I visit home, a short break is on my to-do list. Saturday it's that time again. I'm already excited!

Best Currywurst Fries in HH! Rustic in furnishings and tone, but still with warmth. This is the HHer Kiez in its purest form and we love it.
