Kim's So Korean Food in Stuttgart

The service was really friendly and the food arrived very quickly, no complaints there ^^ But taste-wise, it wasn't really to my liking. Compared to other restaurants and authentic Korean food, this restaurant can't really compete...

We visited Kim’s So Korean Food in Stuttgart for the first time last week and were pleasantly surprised. From the outside, it looks more like a small snack bar and is somewhat hidden away – but that's precisely what makes it so charming. When we arrived, the place was half full, and when we left, it was packed – and rightly so! The food arrived incredibly quickly and was simply excellent. We had fried chicken, a bowl, and a soup. Everything was incredibly delicious, perfectly seasoned, and fresh. The service was super friendly and attentive – we felt comfortable from the very first minute. The only minor drawback: it was quite loud, but that's to be expected given the size and atmosphere of the place and definitely not a reason to deduct a star. Highly recommended – we'll be back! 🙌🇰🇷🍜🍗

The food was delicious. The restaurant is small but excellent. Ordering by slip of paper takes some getting used to. One star was deducted because a card payment of €23 was declined.

The food is delicious, but in a KOREAN RESTAURANT, the cheapest store-bought tea from a teabag in a teapot? Are you serious? I expected at least loose-leaf tea and the lack of free tap water in a place where all the food is very spicy... It looks like a money-printing machine!

First time here and it was absolutely delicious. This has now become my new favorite dish, and it's relatively low in fat but tastes perfect. 👍

We've always enjoyed our visit to Kim's So. The food is truly excellent. The menu is well-balanced and also suitable for vegetarians. The prices are really reasonable for central Stuttgart. The ambiance takes some getting used to; it's dark, and the tables are often not cleaned properly. The service is absolutely terrible. You can't make a reservation, nor are you given any information about when a table might be available when the place is full. On top of that, the service staff are disrespectful and unfriendly. Even though the food is truly excellent, we'd rather go somewhere else in the future.

Korean Fried Chicken were delicious. Noodles of the black bean noodles were a bit too soft. Veggie Kimbap was with cheese which was not stated on the menu. Kimbap were okay. The ambiente was okay, the generator in the back was a little bit too loud. Service was great, food was served really quickly!

First off, it's a Korean restaurant run by Chinese people. The kimchi stew was just military-style kimchi soup. What was most absurd was that the two counter staff (one Chinese, one Westerner) initially said they only accepted cash. But when I pointed to the card reader at the counter, they laughed among themselves and only then accepted card payments. This is definitely not recommended for "Koreans" looking for Korean food.

Not suitable for a large group of people (we were around 12). Waited half an hour to find out most of our orders were not available (Chicken and Kimchi). Zero hospitality, period!

If you're looking for something decent to eat on a Sunday afternoon in Stuttgart, I can wholeheartedly recommend Kim's So. Efficient, friendly service, excellent, tasty food, very good value for money, and large portions. The banchan offered a variety of kimchi. All delicious – especially the one made with regular white cabbage. Then, for the main course, we had the mixed grill with fantastically marinated beef and pork, as well as seafood and some vegetables (mushrooms, leeks); everything sizzled at the table in a delicious sauce. You have to be patient until everything is cooked the way you want it. But turning it regularly and bringing it to the center helps pass the time. The taste was truly a revelation: everything was beautifully marinated, seasoned, just the right amount of spice, and fresh. The three kimchi (white cabbage, cucumber, Chinese cabbage) also tasted different. I ordered spicy sauce to go with it, which further enhanced the flavor. The dishes on the other tables also looked tempting. A great discovery after being turned away elsewhere (including Asian food) despite being open (“takeout only”).

This Korean spot was amazing – like literally amazing. The food was full of flavor, the atmosphere was warm, and everything felt authentic. Definitely one of those places you can’t wait to come back to!

I have always wanted to try Korean food after seeing it so many times in Korean dramas. I tried some food at different places before but none of them compare to this restaurant. They make the food really perfect. Everything was so delicious. I enjoyed the japchae with beef and tender vegetables so much. It was really tasty. Kimbap is my favorite. It was really delicious. The coco palm mango drink was too sweet for me. I paid 27 euros for japchae, kimbap and a drink, it cost around 55 euros for two people. I heard they also have hotpot and Korean barbecue but we haven’t had a chance to try it. I would definitely come back to try more food if i get a chance again in the future. It is a really nice place with good food and reasonable prices. I definitely recommend.

The food tastes bad but large ,kinda expensive so eat it all up

Wanted to pay by card but was told "cash only" as per very small sticker on the door. However customer right behind me wanted to pay by card and just like that, they just pulled up a card reader and let him pay. When I asked what the hell is going on, they suddenly did not know the language 🤮

good Korean food at a really good price

I'm posting this to help Koreans! I'd die if I didn't eat Korean food, but I only recommend it if all the nearby stores are closed and you can't even afford ramen. Kimchi Gimbap = Cucumber, carrot, egg kimchi, cheese, and wasabi. For some reason, it's covered in eel sauce (soy sauce), but the sides are completely torn. For 8 euros, you'd be better off eating sushi. Sundubu Jjigae = It's ramen with seafood, like jjambbong. There's no sundubu, just four pieces of modubu. The seafood is octopus?, two shrimp (but they were still shelled and poop-free, so I didn't eat them), crab meat, and squid. It's not bad, but it tastes exactly like instant ramen, so there's no reason to pay 20 euros for it. I ordered it through Uber Eats, and there were no side dishes other than rice. The plain rice is delicious.

Very good food, friendly service. Reasonably priced, and you can enjoy a quiet lunchtime setting. We'll be happy to come back.

Very unfriendly!!! We asked at the entrance if it was possible to purchase pasta boxes to go. We were treated extremely negatively. On top of that, the door was slammed in our faces. This review only refers to the friendliness and service.

Food is not great and when it was 21.45 they starting rushing us out in a very exaggerated way. Came straight to us and asked for payment, knowing that we are only foreigners, when we asked for card they said "only cash". It was only when we showed the person that we don't have cash they accepted we pay by card, which they could have clearly accepted from the beginning. Would NOT recommend

At first, I wasn't too comfortable eating there. The atmosphere is... well, like a small shop in the back corner of Seoul. Not in the cleanest part of Stuttgart. But... the food is amazing. I was thrilled and will eat there again.

I've been here several times and have been impressed every time! The food is fresh, authentic, and truly delicious. Seats are limited, so you'll need to be quick – but that's also what makes it so charming. A real highlight in Stuttgart for fans of Korean cuisine! A quick tip: Be sure to bring cash, as card payments weren't accepted until now.

Absolutely disappointing! I ordered a dish here and only found out after it was served that it contained pork. Since I can't eat it for personal reasons and haven't even touched it, I wanted to return it. At first, I was told it was out of stock, but then they took it anyway. Not even a minute after taking it away, they asked my girlfriend and me to leave the table to make room for other guests, even though my sister was still eating next door? No sympathy, zero. This was my last visit to this unfriendly restaurant!

What the hell. Not a single piece of fish cake in my tteokbokki, and no red pepper sauce with my bibimbap! I got take away and so only discovered once home. Not very good considering I spent almost €30. Staff member didn’t even say anything when he handed me my bag of food, so yeah, customer service didn’t really save this one.

The food was not authentic Korean as claimed by other reviews. Jap chae was very oily. Soups too salty. Korean fried chicken was a disaster, used too much of batter which made the fried chicken very hard. The fried chicken were all the same with only the sauce being different that was places on top. When paying the check they said to pay in cash, but in these modern times, who does have cash? After struggling a bit they offered card payment….

An Imbiss in the centre of Stuttgart that I was looking forward to try because I love to cook and to eat Korean cuisine. The place is quite sad, a bunch of tables behind the kitchen, nothing really appealing. But since I ate some of the best food around the world in anonymous places, this did not discourage me. I mention so you go without expectations. We ordered Beef gyoza and beef Bibimbap. Service is basic, you get the necessary and you order your food on a piece of paper. Food arrived. The gyoza were absolutely tasteless if not for the spicy sauce they put on top, the filling was without depth, the aromatic very missing and not even the fried part could help in this case. Bibimbap was on the cheap side, a bunch of different salads and raw veggie with a bit of meat and rice. Overall despite it was full, I did not enjoy anything.

Good Korean food, with plenty of vegetarian dishes. The service is friendly and quick. However, seating is very close together, and it's very loud. So, it's great for a quick bite to eat, but not for a cozy evening for two...

Although we are regular customers and were even willing to pay for use, we were denied access to the toilet.

In terms of korean restaurant, people in Stuttgart or even generally Baden-Württemberg do not have that much choice. But it is good enough if you want to eat korean food. Hopefully they could move to somewhere bigger.

The Jjamppong noodles are a little weird... The water tan is strong and delicious... The chicken is also... just... I don't know

Don't order the chicken with cheese, the chicken itself is delicious, but it is brought rolled in some kind of cheese spice, similar to uncooked food in powder, it spoils the dish a lot, corndogs are also so-so

Jeyukbokkeum was a menu that really tasted like the food I used to eat in Korea. Jeyukbokkeum tastes different in each restaurant in Korea, but the Jeyukbokkeum here tasted like the Mokmyeoksanbang Namsan Tower branch in Namsan compared to Korean restaurants. The simple smoky flavor + spicy flavor really tastes like Korean food. However, I was very disappointed with the Jjajangmyeon. I couldn't taste the Jjajang flavor at all. It was just a recipe that seemed to be a mixture of potato soy sauce stew and Chinese beef noodles with floating oil. If you want to eat sweet potato stew and beef noodles, order this. I took off one star because the Jjajangmyeon was a bit disappointing. Lastly, I ordered the combo mix chicken, but the seasoned chicken sauce wasn't the flavor that is usually sold in Korea, but rather the sauce that tastes like tteokkkochi, a street food. The sauce has a strong gochujang flavor. It seems like it should be a bit less spicy. Anyway, I really liked Jeyukbokkeum, so I want to visit again next time and try other menus. And the picture of the cup had something like sticky honey in the middle, which was a little unpleasant.

This small Korean snack bar unfortunately lacks a Michelin star. Korean specialties are served quickly, and what's more, the taste is simply fabulous. The food arrived in less than 5-10 minutes, the prices were absolutely reasonable, and the selection, both drinks and food, was insanely good. We returned to the hotel full and hope the restaurant stays open until our next visit to Stuttgart so we can visit again. 20/10

Fantastic food and reasonable prices. The restaurant is small, so there is not much room for comfort inside. It is better to sit outside when the weather allows.

We've been going there for about a year now. The food is amazing and incredibly authentic. Truly top-notch! The best Asian restaurant. I would recommend it to everyone.

An unassuming, simple, no frills eatery but the Bulgogi we ordered was amazing. Will come back on my next visit.

I had Jjamppong, but it doesn't taste like Korean Jjamppong. The name of the restaurant is Kim's Korean Food(?), but the person who makes the food seems to be Chinese. The Jjamppong wasn't bad, but I recommend not coming here expecting Korean flavors. The food was okay (the noodles weren't tasty, which was disappointing), but I think it would have been better if it had been a Chinese restaurant rather than a vague Korean restaurant. The staff's friendliness was average. For reference, I paid in cash!

I visited the restaurant on April 29, 2025 (receipt is available). Unfortunately, the quality of the meat in my dish had deteriorated significantly in my opinion – it was very tough and stringy, and the portion was also smaller than before. My original review (3 stars) has since been removed, alleging defamation. I successfully filed a complaint against this, as it was an objective expression of opinion based on my personal experience. I get the impression that there is a tendency to take action against critical reviews. I find this a shame, because honest feedback – even if it is negative – is part of a fair exchange. I hope that the quality will improve again in the future.

We had some reservations to go here taking in consideration the reviews of the last week. We did go though and were not disappointed. Food was great, we had the bbq. Atmosphere on the terrace can be doubtful but all-in-all a great food experience. Will go again!

Your nose and mouth are connected; if it stinks, you can't taste it. I had the Korean Fried Chicken Trio and I didn't like it. Their cheese powder 😟... I'd rather just have it with gochujang sauce. For my main course, I had 'Jajangmyeon with Beef,' but the menu didn't clearly state that it was cold noodles. Cold food that doesn't exactly taste good, combined with the urine-scented street, isn't great. They need to clean the pavement of that awful smell. Money wasted on bad food *cry*

Nothing special, just okay, unfortunately. It's not enough for a second visit, even though Korean food is usually delicious (I was in South Korea two months ago). It's also a real shame that every restaurant simply removes reviews. How come this post was removed?

KFC is available in small and large versions with various breadings. The sauces are homemade, in my opinion. A definite recommendation. The vegetarian bimbimbap didn't really impress me; it was a bit boring. On the other hand, the japchae was quite good; the meat and sweet potato noodles were exceptional. The atmosphere isn't really that appetizing. The outdoor area is sort of like a backyard. Occasionally, a breeze blows with a sewer smell.

They dont accept people to eat inside one hour before they close. They dont look they want customers 🤣

This is so disgusting. That's all I have to say. It seems like Chinese people are coining Korean food, but don't be fooled. I didn't like the fact that there was some weird kimchi (I think it was brought from my hometown) in the Han River when I asked for ramen, and I don't think Ki-cheol and Ki-young will eat this ramen either. There were so many flies that we ate together.

I ordered Yukgaejang, but it doesn't taste like Yukgaejang at all... Why is there bok choy in Yukgaejang? I also ordered spicy chicken, but the taste was just so-so and it felt like I was eating instant chicken. I just went there without looking at the reviews, but it turned out that it was a Chinese-run restaurant, not a Korean-run one... haha. And when I checked out, it came out to 26.7 euros, so I paid 50 euros in cash, but the employee who looked Indian only gave me 12 euros and a few cents. When I came out and calculated it, I realized it was wrong, so I went back in and checked, and only then did I get paid 23.3 euros. I don't know if they were trying to scam me since I was a tourist, but I really felt bad. At the table next to me, I saw German female students who were very interested in Korea ordering various Korean dishes and having fun. I was very disappointed that they didn't seem to be able to eat proper Korean food. Oh, and no cards, only cash.

Unfortunately we got food poisoning here. At first the taste of the food was okay. The service was still very friendly. Unfortunately, the next day we had such severe stomach pains that we had to go to the hospital. I would advise against recommending it.

Very authentic Korean and very tasty!

We ordered Bulgogi and Fried Chicken with Sweet Chili Sauce. The bulgogi was tender, and perfectly marinated, while the fried chicken was crispy, and coated in a delicious sweet and spicy glaze. The atmosphere was cozy and the service was great Highly recommended

I really enjoy going there because it really has a street food character and the dishes are super tasty. I just think that it should slowly be okay to pay with my card. If you end up stressing out easily because you don't have any cash with you, then that's just not up to date. That left a bad taste in my mouth.

Even though the food was really okay, the service didn't seem friendly and I generally didn't feel welcome. Unfortunately we had to pack the food ourselves. Therefore unfortunately only 1 star for the service.

The food didn't taste good at all. If I could I would give zero stars. The kimbap is so disgusting the resi is overcooked, it just has no taste. You get a mini corn dog for €8, the dough tastes like it wasn't baked properly. You have to pay extra for the sauce when you check out the fried food, so it's usually included in the price. So I wouldn't eat there again.

We were here for the first time. The chicken pieces were full of cartilage. The bibimbap was okay, but very lightly seasoned. All in all, €66 was too much. Water in bottles that you don't know when they were opened. Unfortunately not recommended. The lady in service was quick and normally friendly.

I've been a guest there several times and the food always tastes great. It is prepared quickly. Sometimes you are seated at a table with other guests, but I don't think that's a bad thing. You now also have a new map with more choice! Unfortunately the portions yesterday were very small, so the price ratio was very expensive.🥲 The last few times there was always so much that my sister and I could eat together or we could heat it up again at home the next day. So we had something for two days. So the price ratio was very good. 🙈 I hope next time the portion will be bigger and there will be more! (The price on our previous visits was usually €25-35 per person, but we always ordered a lot extra.)
