Kildare City Pub in Leipzig

Great menu, something for everyone. The drinks selection is also very good. Service was quick and friendly, but a bit too eager towards the end, giving the impression that they were trying to get rid of us quickly. The burgers are highly recommended; the bun is the icing on the cake. Unfortunately, the Guinness is only available in 0.4l glasses, making it far too expensive at €6.10. Would I go there again? I'm not sure.

I really thought about posting or not posting this review. The food is pretty wow, they offer a local brewery beer option, which was quite good. I like a Kilkenny also, no problem from that perspective. My friends we're not extraordinary impressed with the food, but I really loved my chicken bacon burger. Then we went there a second time for drinks only and saw the bartender drink from one of the glasses that was served to the customers in 2-3 minutes later. The bartender was a blonde curly tall guy. I can't get over it. I know it was not our table, but he drank and then the waitress served it to a table that didn't even saw the bar. I am sorry I didn't make a picture of that, he deserved it. I am sure it's an okay bar, but not for me. You don't have to believe me and I wish he never drinks from your drink, I will never return and my friends also not, it was just a vacation in the end. Leipzig has other much better options than this.

After a long search for a suitable place for a delicious meal, we ended up at Kildare in Barfußgässchen. The food was fantastic (they even accommodated a small special request without hesitation and with great care), and the service was excellent and incredibly friendly throughout the evening. We'd love to come back and highly recommend Kildare. Top-notch!!!

This used to be a really nice pub. But I definitely won't go there to watch football again. We waited over an hour for our food. While other tables ordered after us and had already eaten, we continued to wait for our food. The waitresses didn't inform us that it would take longer, nor did they express any regret. When we went to pay, the food was suddenly ready. Then it still took another 15 minutes for it to arrive. Not a word of apology. The worst part, though, was one of the staff members. I had just left the restaurant and was standing in front of the door for about three seconds, about to walk away, when I was shouted at from behind, "Get out of my way, you idiot." That's a complete disgrace! After all, I was a paying customer. Even under the most stressed conditions, the service seemed to be under control. That's unacceptable!

Very, very tasty burgers and friendly, attentive staff. The alley is equipped with umbrellas and patio heaters, so you can sit outside even in winter. Very cozy.

We were there for dinner on Sunday, and the food was very good. However, during football matches, only a reduced menu is offered.

All in all, it's good. But when the sound is turned off in a sports bar because guests are bothered... the staff is nice, trying hard, but not very constructive.

Delicious food and very friendly service

We went to the Kildare City Pub with our group today. Since some friends had joined us, we extended our table. Shortly afterward, the waitress, Niki, came over and began criticizing us in a very rude tone. Although we immediately apologized and said it shouldn't be a big deal and we could just end the conversation, she continued to accuse us, speaking loudly and shaking her head ironically. Finally, she even said she could bring us the bill. This behavior put us under a lot of pressure and completely ruined the mood of the evening. For a restaurant that's supposed to show hospitality, this is completely unprofessional and disappointing.

Our experience at the Kildare City Pub was disappointing because of our waitress, Niki. We moved a table slightly to get more comfortable seating, and she reacted very rudely, shouting loudly at us in front of everyone. Her behavior was completely inappropriate and made us feel uncomfortable. A pub with such a good reputation should place much more emphasis on the courtesy and professionalism of its staff.

We were very disappointed with our visit. The waitress (her name was Niki) was extremely rude and disrespectful. Since we didn't have a seat, we pushed two tables together. Instead of politely pointing out that this might not be allowed, she spoke to us in a very ironic and cheeky tone. She even told us to pay and leave if we didn't like it. Such behavior is completely unprofessional and inappropriate. We certainly won't be coming back.

The waitress was very rude and spoke to the guests in a completely inappropriate manner. She's probably not suited for this job.

The food was excellent, highly commended. The decor was beautiful, and it was very nice.

It was my first time eating and drinking there. Very friendly service. The food was incredibly delicious. I haven't had such a good burger in a long time. The beer was also delicious. I'd love to come back.

The fat in the fish and chips was delicious. The staff were always in a good mood and kind.

The restaurant is nice. The food is good. We were satisfied, but we must also say that there are many good restaurants in Leipzig.

When you walk in, you immediately feel like you're in Ireland. The drinks are very good and the food is delicious—one of the best burgers I've ever had 😍 What I didn't like so much was that we were watching the 2. Bundesliga there. The game was almost over (there were five minutes left in the game), and then they changed the layout to the 1. Bundesliga. I think that's completely unacceptable. They shouldn't write it on the website if they're changing the layout right before. But otherwise, it felt good.

Cold beer, delicious ribs, and the guys behind the bar are fast and friendly. Watching football was also great. I enjoyed it and can recommend it.

This is simply a fantastic Irish pub in the heart of Leipzig. The decor is super rustic and inviting. The servers are very friendly and the drinks menu is excellent. If you like whiskey, this is the place to be.

A little evening retreat, a pitcher of cider, a pint of Guinness, a balmy summer evening, and a few friendly exchanges with the boss. Perfect, that's how it should be: uncomplicated and relaxed.

The staff was very friendly. Despite the stress, the service was always pleasant and friendly. They accommodated almost all customer requests. The food was fantastic, and the wait was shorter than at other restaurants.

We had burgers, and they were tasty, but nothing special. So, one visit was enough for us. The fries were homemade, which I appreciated. The benches in the courtyard, however, were rather uncomfortable and squeaky.

Gutes Bier, Gute Küche bis spät abends. Und wie beim ordentlichen Irish Pub üblich bleibt man nicht lange alleine. Cocktails gibt's wohl auch, aber wer geht dafür schon zum Iren? Dafür laufen die wichtigsten Fußballspiele auf mehreren Fernsehern.

Had wings, burgers and fries...it was good, I just found the wings a bit tiny but they still tasted good. As always, the service is top and friendly.

"The Germans eat dinner at 6 o'clock..." With these words I was refused a reservation. Won't try again...

We visited the restaurant on a “normal” Tuesday around 8 p.m. with 2 children. First the positive points: - Rustic atmosphere, just like a pub should be - beautiful outdoor area - Live sports, if you like - The invoice came quickly and was even correct… Now the things that stood out negatively: - It took 20 minutes before we could even order drinks - These didn't come until 15 minutes later. Unfortunately, our “waiter” couldn’t take our food order at the same time and disappeared again. - The children's Fanta tasted rather “thin”/stretched - 45 minutes after arrival they took pity on letting us order food - It took another 45 minutes for the food to arrive - Fish 'n' chips were lukewarm, dry-fried frozen food that tasted like nothing. - The children's pancakes were carelessly slapped onto a plate, cold and didn't taste good. If this had somehow been a weekend and the shop was full, that might be understandable, but this restaurant seems to be a tourist trap.

Do I need to say more than: Guinness cheesecake? 😂

Unfortunately disappointed... To start with the positive: the staff were all very friendly and relaxed. The atmosphere is that of a cozy, rustic pub and football lovers will also get their money's worth with the many large monitors. Unfortunately, the food wasn't that great. The “Soda Bread Sandwich” consisted of two small toasted dinner sandwiches with packaged salmon and a few vegetables. For a proud €14.90. You can pay €5 for a handful of fries with a small dip. And the "Guinnes sundae" described as "chocolate ice cream with a Guinnes caramel sauce and cream topping" turned out to be a 0.2l glass with ONE scoop of ice cream and some cream for €6.50. Too bad!

Very good food, good beer, and friendly service, who regularly, but not too intrusively, inquired about our well-being. Plus, a nice atmosphere with outdoor patio heaters – smokers are also welcome there. 😉

We went to the Kildare pub around 6:30 p.m. yesterday evening (1/17/25) without registering and got a wonderful table. The evening was the highlight of the week: delicious food, interesting drinks and an exceptionally nice staff. We congratulate the entire team for the outstanding performance! A good beer menu, and the prices are more than reasonable! Service was excellent, and the atmosphere inside the pub was very lively and relaxed. The only "criticism" was the YouTube advertisements during the music.

The pub is good and centrally located. The service staff was very nice and courteous and always took care of things. The garlic bread was very tasty. Unfortunately, the fish 'n' chips were very dry, which really spoiled my impression.
