As always, a taste explosion. Great service and very competent presentation.

We ate here in September and my husband surprised me. It was just incredible. Greatly prepared, very tasteful and unusual ingredients. The evening was also perfect thanks to an incredibly nice team and a very friendly host. We were very enthusiastic. More stars would actually be appropriate here. Unfortunately the route is too far from Frankfurt for a spontaneous meal on Saturday evening...

A very nice evening in a great restaurant! Absolute recommendation for every visitor to Quedlinburg who is interested in culinary delights. Jan Fribus offers Asian-oriented cuisine of the highest quality and a warm service that is rare today in its informality.

It was our first time at KIKU - and it definitely won't be the last time. From the first to the last course everything was excellent. Some are even more than excellent!!! He and his team absolutely and more than deserve the star. Jan Fribus is such an authentic and likeable person - his plates absolutely suit him. We chose the juice accompaniment - and we have to say, one of the best we've ever had. Super fitting! Now to the service: warm and also authentic. It was a great evening all around. We felt very comfortable in this beautiful location. And we're more than happy to come back :-)

By chance we became aware of this treasure in the small town of Quedlinburg. And what a surprise: an incredible culinary world tour at the highest level. We haven't eaten so well yet! Very courteous service, you quickly feel at home in a very tasteful atmosphere. Excellent wine selection for the meal, and the non-alcoholic accompaniment with home-fermented drinks is also excellent. The lobster, the toro, the deer, every course is an increase and a taste explosion. We would like to thank you for an impressive, very special evening!

Food was excellent Asien Fusion ... but digastive selection did not Match to food at all.

We regularly go out for fine dining, and I would particularly like to emphasize that the host seeks a personal conversation with his guests. Which, apart from general phrases from well-known chefs, is rather rare. We felt very comfortable with Jan Fribus and would love to come back!

I can give a maximum of one point here. I liked the beautifully renovated half-timbered house and the individual courses of the 9-course menu were visually very appealingly arranged. Unfortunately, the taste of the food (with the exception of the first two courses: Tartelette; Toro) did not meet my expectations of fine dining at all. I had the impression that they were trying to impress by combining as many different flavors as possible. However, there was obviously no consideration given to the individual ingredients (e.g. the lobster or the venison steak). At the end, a salty note predominated in most courses, which covered everything up and was probably intended to give the whole thing a Japanese touch. Therefore I canceled the menu with the 8th course. For me, demands and performance are unfortunately disproportionate here.

We found the restaurant completely by chance but to our surprise it was a very happy accident, we had already managed to visit several Michelin star restaurants but this one was special for us. We can only advise everyone to try it, this is exactly what you need if you want something special and unforgettable. The cuisine, the chef, the service and the atmosphere are all 10 and not 5 stars.

The restaurant is a bit hidden and central. We would like to thank you very much for the nine-course culinary world tour with wine accompaniment for our wedding anniversary. Dear Kiku team, On July 27th, 2024 we were able to be guests in your restaurant and would like to thank you in advance for the friendly and uncomplicated contact. About our evening: The welcome was very warm, we were seated quickly and the menu was handed to us quickly. The ambience of the restaurant in a beautiful old half-timbered house is impressive. However, we noticed that the furnishing style didn't always look 100% harmonious - in our opinion, the common thread here wasn't entirely clear. We would like to keep it short and succinct about the food: it was consistently excellent. The dishes were convincing across the board, both in terms of taste and presentation. The portion sizes were more than sufficient. We would particularly like to highlight the San Sebastian cheesecake and the tuna - these two dishes particularly impressed us. We believe that the star for your restaurant based on kitchen performance should be within reach in the coming year. Now to our criticisms: The service was always friendly and helpful, but the explanations about the courses were sometimes a bit poor. This was sometimes due to a language barrier. However, when the chefs explained the courses, the description was detailed and informative. Our biggest point of criticism concerns the non-alcoholic beverage accompaniment. Two of the five drinks were served twice, and there was unfortunately no explanation as to why exactly these drinks were chosen for each course. We would have liked more variety and more detailed explanations here. What should be highlighted positively, however, is that all three drinks that we were able to try tasted excellent and were homemade. We had an unforgettable evening at Kiku Restaurant! With our reservation we ordered the full 9 course menu including drinks. The food was of the highest standard and absolutely equivalent to the dishes from well-known star restaurants in the area. Each course had its own special feature. We really noticed that the small team (only 4 people) authentically cares about the very personal care of the guests. The extraordinary food offers a journey through the stages of the young chef's life, who knows how to make each dish its own attraction. This almost inconspicuous restaurant in Quedlinburg is rightly recommended by the Gaude Michelin! We'll definitely be back!

One does not expect to find a Michelin recommended restaurant in sleepy Quedlinburg, but Kiku has more than earned this distinction. The restaurant is housed in a half-timbered building, many centuries old, which somehow blends perfectly with the comfortable modern interior. The food is a revelation, the highest quality, but still somehow comforting in a way that elevated tasting menus rarely are. A current highlight is the locally-sourced venison as well as the Sebastian cheesecake and fermented plum sorbet. Above all, it is the personal touch of Jan Fribus And his enormous hospitality that make this place, the rarest match of sophistication and warmth. The Michelin guide may have beat me to it, but I could not recommend this place more highly.

Wir haben einen Abend zu zweit im Kiku verbracht und waren Wiederholungstäter. Am Ambiente hat sich leider noch nichts weiter verändert, was dem Essen sicherlich nicht schadet, jedoch passt die Bar/Theke so rein gar nicht zu dem restlichen Stil. Die Begrüßung war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Als Karte bekommt man 2 lose Zettel in die Hand gedrückt. Einmal für das Menü und einmal die Gtränkekarte. Das fanden wir etwas zu lieblos. Wir haben uns für das große Menü entschieden und haben aber auf die Weinbegleitung verzichtet, da hier die vorgeschlagenen Weine eher „normale bekannte Weine“ für uns waren. Alle Gerichte waren handwerklich und geschmacklich sehr gut zubereitet und lassen wirklich drauf hoffen, dass Quedlinburg bald ein Sternerestaurant hat. Das für uns neue Personal im Service ist noch etwas unsicher aber hat sehr gutes Potential ! Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und auch als wir die letzten Gäste waren wurden wir bis zum letzten Wunsch wirklich gut bedient. Warum nicht 5 Sterne ? 5 Sterne heißt Perfekt und wir denken etwas Luft nach oben ist noch da. Und das Personal braucht noch etwas Schulung. Auch wenn Fragen zu dem jeweiligen Gang sind, sollten sie in den meisten Fällen durch die Kellner erklärt werden können, das war bei uns leider nicht der Fall. Aber wir denken das bekommt noch hin. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall gerne wieder und können einen Besuch nur empfehlen !

Fine dining that deserves at least 2 Michelin Stars !!! We came in late and very spontaneously. Jan prepared pan-seared local venison in an au jus sauce with pumpkin purée. Juli offered excellent service and perfect wine pairing. Just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, they served us San Sebastián cheesecake and fermented plum sorbet. Jan and Juli saved our night and we will come back to enjoy the full menu. We felt overwhelmed by their enormous hospitality. When in Quedlinburg, YOU HAVE TO GO !!

9-course menu with wine accompaniment. Our summary: fantastic and imaginative, dreamlike, completely harmonious with a praline highlight at the successful end. We felt well looked after and comfortable. A wonderful gourmet experience in a stylish ambience.

This beautiful small restaurant deserves a visit. The food is excellent and served in a very artistic way and the service is friendly, efficient and discreet. We had a great experience with the full menu paired with the wine menu/alcohol free menus and left satisfied but not too full.

It's an unusual restaurant. There were a few misunderstandings because of the service staff's poor knowledge of German. But they were very friendly and tried hard. The food was delicious, the wine recommendation was very good.

Wie speisten in einer entspannten und lockeren Atmosphäre mit einem aufmerksamen Personal, was manchmal aber nicht ganz sicher wirkte (beim Wein ging beim Einschenken schon mal etwas neben das Glas, was vom Personal aber nicht bemerkt wurde). Das Neun-Gang-Menü war Spitzenklasse mit tollen Variationen. Die Weinbegleitung war dagegen eher unauffällig, d. h. es wurden bis auf den Sake keine besonders ausdrucksstarken Weine serviert, was aber wiederum auch irgendwie passte, denn so stand das Essen im Vordergrund. Für uns hat Jan Fribus, der auch öfter mal am Tisch vorbeischaute, auf jeden Fall einen Stern verdient!

An absolutely harmonious restaurant, everything from the visuals to the music in the background to the food was coordinated. What was really worth mentioning was the quality of the tuna, this quality with the flavors from the Japanese grill were incredible. The processing of the products and the development of the flavors in the individual dishes are really great. It's a great little team, when you consider all the work they do, it's unbelievable! See you again!

We were guests at KIKU for the second time now. Excited and very satisfied the first time, we didn't want to deprive our children of this experience and... We weren't disappointed! We felt very comfortable in a very pleasant, yet non-formal atmosphere. The service was charming and unobtrusive and always with a personal touch. The menu was of course outstanding! The products are fresh and of high quality. Many thanks also to you, Mr. Fribus, for giving our daughter a little insight into your "sanctuary", your kitchen. Your sous chef, the team and you did not radiate any aloofness, but rather a warmth that made you feel welcome and valued as a guest. I would like to return this appreciation with just one word. A star in the gastronomic sky of the world heritage site. My mother reserved a table for us to celebrate my birthday. Despite the restaurant being closed (actually closed), they opened the door and patiently listened to her concerns and making a reservation was very easy and uncomplicated. My birthday was taken into account in the reservation and - at no extra charge - there was a small bouquet of flowers for me and congratulations from the boss and the team. You feel very comfortable and can slow down wonderfully from everyday life. We had a juice accompaniment and the 9 course menu (approx. 2 1/2 hours total). The drinks and courses are wonderfully coordinated, the service is fast, incredibly friendly and with attention to detail. Our favorites from the courses are: Chavanmushi & Mochi. You can experience and feel service here. The courses were a journey in themselves: exciting, diverse, creative and colorful. Thank you very much for the unforgettable evening. We'll be back - anytime. Here it doesn't matter how you are dressed or what your wallet has. Everyone is welcome, just as they are. I hope that Mr. Fribus never loses the fire in his eyes and the love for his work. Thanks again to the service team. We had a very nice evening, our waiter was very attentive and explained all the dishes well. I found that some dishes lacked a certain amount of depth. My wife had the non-alcoholic accompaniment, but towards the end it was too much sweet on sweet for her. (drink + food) I think it's a matter of taste, I thought the wine selection and the sake were great. I hope the KIKU team can find the last nuances that are missing, we're excited to see whether we'll be able to win a star next year.

The tuna event was simply great, the food and drink variations were first class, as was the ambience, but the service was a bit spotty for one star. But you'll be forgiven for that, I don't value a Michelin star, but I still want it from the bottom of my heart and you'll definitely get it!!! ;) See you at a 10 course menu!!!

The food was in general very good. The first finger food was also very good, but the sweetness was initially too strong, later it got in proportion. The main course duck could have been slightly softer.

Wir hatten einen tollen Abend mit Mega gutem Essen. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam, zuvorkommend und ausgesprochen freundlich. Das Essen - Menü 10 Gänge- war sehr lecker, abwechslungsreich und wirklich mal überraschend anders ! Es gab sogar einen Blumenstrauß für das befreundete Paar (Anlass Silberhochzeit).

Mh. We are not newbies... This is our 5th visit. 4 times everything was great. Unfortunately not today . We waited about 20 minutes for our champagne, a bit long for five occupied tables with a total of 16 people in the restaurant. There were only two portions of beef tartare this evening. That's why I chose dumplings with meat. Also out. Unfortunately, these were almost all the alternatives as “non-fish eaters”. Starters were over for me. That at 1945 p.m. You could tell that the service was slightly overwhelmed, some of the few tables wanted something. Something wasn't going quite right. Main course roast beef was a disgrace. On our last visits we ordered the same food and got more. What we got today was really cool, not even half as much as when we visited in June and August last year. See pictures . Since the service felt overwhelmed, unfortunately no one came to ask us if we were satisfied. We felt really cheated. The waitress argued with increased taxes and errors in the kitchen. We paid €160 for two starters, two glasses of wine, two glasses of champagne and two main courses. A lot, we're happy to pay that, but then the service and cuisine also have to be right. This was not the case today. When I showed my photos from last year, the service was overwhelmed and offered us a schnapps. We said no. We were just disappointed because we were otherwise happy in this restaurant. But today we felt ripped off. A pity

Top cuisine and great wines! We ate very well!!! A restaurant for connoisseurs! What we didn't like: you get an unfiltered view of what's happening behind the counter. It bothered us a bit and spoiled the ambience a bit. The service was a bit awkward but super nice. Everything can still be improved and will certainly be even better soon…

For people who celebrate food, a visit to Kiku is probably a real treat. For me, who neither likes fish nor is a foodie, it was still delicious. I knew what I was getting myself into. The service was extremely attentive and courteous.

Die einzigartige Fusion von asiatischen und französischen Einflüssen - ich nenne es Frasia-Küche -, der Mut zu intensiven Aromen und das angenheme Ambiente machen das Kiku zu einem Ort, an dem man sich rundum verwöhnt fühlt. Auch die alkoholfreie Begleitung aus selbstgemachten Kombuchas und Säften begeistert mich. Angenehm unaufgeregter Service, freundlich und kompetent. Jan Fribus selbst bescheiden und angenehm. KIKU Restaurant - a culinary, gustatory and highly aesthetic adventure journey, a masterful culinary experience. I booked an 8-course tasting menu. Each course was a surprise in taste, texture, color, composition, enjoyment. Exciting, unusual, courageous, balanced. Accompanied by excellent wines and an outstanding Sake Yuzu. The service was extremely attentive, extremely guest-oriented and courteous, very competent and charming. A visit to the KIKU Restaurant will last you for a long time - a wonderful evening in the best company and the absolute holiday highlight in Quedlinburg! I would like to thank the artists of this restaurant. You all create something special!

Absolutely excellent food, good wine, very friendly and professional service, quiet ambience - neither cool nor overcrowded. We ate better than we had in a long time and felt extremely comfortable.

It said “Fusion Cuisine” on the internet. In the end it was a very Asian evening with a distinctly Japanese influence (at least to my knowledge). I have to admit, not my kitchen! Nevertheless, this was a very interesting evening with many new impressions. Very good product quality and top preparations. Plus a friendly, competent service lady. Do you like Asian cuisine? Lets go! The pricing is also sensational and the restaurant is really nice. Only the wine list urgently needs to be expanded and the music in the background was difficult for my taste. Thank you!!

Wir sind zum zweiten mal innerhalb eines halben Jahres zum Menüessen ins KIKU gekommen. Diesmal haben wir Gourmeterfahrene Freunde mitgebracht. Alle waren sich einig: Das Essen war mehr als großartig und auch das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist phänomenal. Besonders herorzuheben ist, dass es im 10-Gang-Menü keine! Schwächen gab, wie man es selbst bei großen Häusern schon mal erlebt. Der Service ist sehr nett - auch Sonderwünsche werden erfüllt. Völlig unverständlich, dass die noch keinen Stern haben.

The meal was a culinary experience, all 10 courses with wine accompaniment a poem in themselves. Lovingly served and a feast for the eyes. I enjoyed it and will definitely come back. My husband invited me here for their 25th wedding anniversary, what a fantastic surprise.

Acht sehr abwechslungsreiche Gänge, die jederzeit variiert werden konnten, sollte man eine Zutat nicht mögen, ließen den Abend zu einem immer wieder überraschenden Geschmackserlebnis werde. Der nette, ungekünstelte Service und ein sehr interessantes Gespräch mit dem Chef rundeten den Besuch ab.

Unfortunately, the restaurant fell far short of our expectations. For a restaurant that reaches for the stars, we miss it in every corner. The place we were given was cold and quick. The starter was quite good, there was nothing to complain about. Unfortunately, both main courses were lukewarm to cold and, what was even worse, very tasteless. Anyone who goes to a restaurant like this expects high-quality food and a taste explosion. I can cook everything else at home. Unfortunately the fish had a lot of bones, that shouldn't actually happen. After 5 minutes, steamed bao buns were served as a side dish to the meat, completely pointless. The service that evening was subpar and probably overwhelmed. We would have liked to eat and drink something else, but we weren't served. We tried 3 times Ordering drinks and a course at the end was unfortunately in vain, and even the following criticism was not accepted. If the boss of the house shows up in the restaurant, then it's a good idea to go to all the tables and not just where a 10-course menu was ordered. The price-performance ratio didn't suit us at all. It's a shame, the place looks nice but the service was totally unfriendly. We were really looking forward to the evening and simply expected more. Clearly not a recommendation for us.

Wow! What a taste journey. We had the 8-course menu with wine accompaniment and were absolutely thrilled. The only place we've ever eaten in the region was similarly unusual at "Pietsch". The honorable mentions in “Feinschmecker” and “Guide MICHELIN” are more than justified, as are the prices. We keep our fingers crossed for the first star!

Das Kiku ist sicher momentan DIE Adresse für gehobene, besondere Küche in Quedlinburg. Das Essen ist wirklich sehr gut. Allerdings hätte ich nie gedacht, dass es noch Restaurants mit so einer kleinen Auswahl an vegetarischen Gerichten gibt. Auf dem à la Carte Menü gibt es gar keins. Die Kellnerinnen waren sehr nett & sehr umsorgend. Ich habe auf Grund des jungen Teams & des modernen Essens jedoch in Sachen Drumherum mehr erwartet. Das Ambiente & die Atmosphäre passen für meinen Geschmack nicht zum modernen Essen. Natürlich ist das Essen das Entscheidende bei einem Restaurant, jedoch mag ich es, grade in der Preisklasse, wenn alles zusammen passt. das Essenskonzept ist toll, das wäre doch schön, wenn sich das auch drumherum wiederfindet.

Besonders gut hat mir die nichtalkoholische Begleitung zum Menü gefallen. Absolute Empfehlung!!!

Kulinarisches Highlight in Quedlinburg. Sehr aufmerksamer und freundlicher Service mit herausragenden Empfehlungen. Wir waren zum wiederholten Mal hier. Es ist nicht übertrieben zu sagen, dass es ein Feuerwerk der Köstlichkeiten war. Besonders empfehlenswert die Fjordforelle mit Pastianken. Und als Dessert immer wieder die Mochis. Super lecker. Wir kommen wieder, ganz bestimmt.

Die Kreationen der Küche, außerordentlich! Dazu ein ungezwungener aber dennoch perfekter Service. Darauf hat Quedlinburg gewartet und es wurde Zeit für dieses Restaurant auf diesem Niveau. Weiter so!

Das beste Restaurant in Quedlinburgs auf Anhieb. Jan Fribus, ein Zögling des Zeitwerks in Wernigerode, bereichert die alte Welterbestadt und schafft ein Gourmetrestaurant, das als meiner Favoriten auf den Stern gilt. Sehr gute Speisen, top Weine und ein sehr (!) netter Service.

Wir waren als Paar zusammen im Kiku und können unser Erlebnis kaum in Worte fassen. Raffinesse, Japanische Küche, Kreativität, Passion. All das merkt man von Anfang bis Ende. Es war viel mehr ein Erlebnis, als ein Dinner. Wir entschieden uns für das vom Küchenchef ausgewählte Menü und es war hervorragend. Alles wurde sorgfältig erklärt und hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Der Service war ebenfalls herausragend. Wasser wurde regelmäßig nachgeschenkt und die Weinbegleitung war perfekt auf das Menü abgestimmt. Es war ein toller Abend und wir kommen auf jeden Fall bald wieder.

Wir haben einen kleinen Diamanten gefunden! Ein für uns perfektes Menü mit Aromen aus der ganzen Welt, ausgewählte Weine und herzlichem Service. Hervorragendes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis (noch, denn der Stern wird sicher irgendwann kommen). Es gibt Euch erst 5 Monate, aber macht weiter so, wir werden wieder Eure Gäste sein.

Das Kiku ist zweifellos ein kulinarischer Himmel auf Erden. Von Anfang bis Ende erlebten wir hier einen exquisiten Genuss, der unsere Erwartungen bei Weitem übertraf. Der Service im Kiku war beeindruckend - informativ, zuvorkommend und äußerst nett. Der Restaurantmanager war erstklassig geschult und konnte jede Frage zu den Weinen auf der Karte ausführlich beantworten. Er waren stets präsent, aber nie aufdringlich, und sorgten dafür, dass wir uns während des gesamten Abends wohl und umsorgt fühlte. Die beiden Köche im Kiku sind wahre Meister ihres Fachs. Das geschmacklich exzellente Essen war eine wahre Gaumenfreude. Jeder Bissen war ein Kunstwerk aus Aromen und Texturen, das die Sinne verzauberte. Die Leidenschaft und Hingabe der Köche für ihr Handwerk wurden deutlich, als sie uns persönlich die Inspiration hinter den Gerichten erklärten. Es war faszinierend zu erfahren, wie sorgfältig die Zutaten ausgewählt und kombiniert wurden, um ein harmonisches und dennoch überraschendes Geschmackserlebnis zu schaffen. Die Präsentation der Gerichte war ebenso beeindruckend wie der Geschmack. Jeder Teller war wie ein Kunstwerk arrangiert, was die Vorfreude auf das Essen noch steigerte. Es war offensichtlich, dass hier viel Liebe zum Detail in jeden Aspekt des kulinarischen Erlebnisses floss. Ich kann das Kiku wärmstens empfehlen. Es ist der ideale Ort für besondere Anlässe, um sich selbst oder seine Liebsten zu verwöhnen. Das Gesamterlebnis war von Anfang bis Ende perfekt, und wir werden mit Sicherheit wiederkommen, um weitere kulinarische Abenteuer zu erleben. Es ist keine Übertreibung zu sagen, dass das Kiku zu den besten Restaurants gehört, die wir je besucht haben. Update 28.10.2023: Auch unser zweiter Besuch bestätigt unseren ausgezeichneten Eindruck in Gänze: es gab Variationen im Menü, die hierzu gereichten Weine waren uns allesamt neu (mit kleinen Besonderheiten) und auch der Wechsel im Service hat die Qualität des Restaurants nicht gemindert.
