It was a really nice evening at the Pölkenhof. The food was great. The service great. Everything went smoothly, even though it was completely full. We felt totally comfortable. The Leipzschor say THANK YOU ❤️ We would love to come back.

We were lucky to get a table in this great restaurant that evening. The drinks were immediately at the table. The food took a long time to arrive but everything was super fresh. The landlord is very friendly and very empathetic towards children. The two African gray parrots were particularly funny. Games to pass the waiting time are available. The food was very tasty.

I was there from Friday to Sunday. Since my accommodation was on the same street, I happened to pass the restaurant and was immediately pleasantly surprised by the menu displayed. As an old Ossi now living in Lower Saxony, I have found many dishes from my childhood there. So I wanted to have dinner during opening hours. Unfortunately everything was fully booked on the first day. The friendly boss asked me to write to him via WhatsApp to book a table for the next day. It actually worked and we were able to enjoy the family environment and the deliciously prepared food. In short, the service was great, the food was delicious, there was a lot of varied schnapps on offer and the boss always had an anecdote ready and a sharp sense of humor. Price/performance ratio top. Next time we'll be back in this beautiful city, but this time with a reservation in advance!

I was just eating in the restaurant with my wife and 2 children and happened to get the next table without a reservation. We felt very warmly welcomed and the children received a treat from the two parrots, which already have special names. It was a very tasty meal where the price-performance ratio was more than good, there was 1 liter of house beer for €6, for example. We'd love to come back!

The food was good. However, we waited over 1.5 hours until the food finally came to the table. Reason, “we make everything fresh” and “the kitchen decides what to cook next”. It felt like we were just catching the fish...

We were looking for something to eat. We thought it shouldn't be a problem on Wednesday evening. One restaurant only takes reservations, the other closes at 7:30 p.m. or is closed for vacation. So we continued on to Mathildenbrunnen. With success. The boss of Pölkenhof was just outside. And yes, the kitchen was open and several regional dishes were recommended to us. Now to make a long story short, what we had was super tasty. The beer was tasty and the service is a dream. I could write more positive things... The Pölkenhof is worth a visit.

Rather inconspicuous from the outside - cozy inside - the host is super friendly, the food is great, regional and in collaboration with regional producers. We ate, among other things, venison, Harzer Schnitzel, Soljanka, Ragout fin, Harzer Schnitte: Conclusion: we tasted it and liked it. The parrot added his two cents every now and then. The Harz schnapps are recommended. And by the way, the solyanka was on the “Mitropa plate”!!!

We celebrated our birthday there and ordered a buffet, it was very tasty and the agreements were kept. The room was also very large and could be furnished individually.

### Update 4 years later: I've been there for dinner twice in the last 4 years. Most recently last weekend. The quality of the first visit was maintained over the 4 years. The waitress, who was charming last time, has now turned out to be the host himself, who hasn't lost his sense of humor and hospitality even after 4 years. The food is still excellent. The map is manageable but offers enough scope for different requirements. I would particularly like to highlight the selection of regionally produced liqueurs. In general, the Pölkenhof focuses on regionality. Like that. What was negative on the last visit was the waiting time for food (almost 2 hours). The fault was a larger company and the fact that the food was not prepared in advance but was actually freshly prepared. This was the first time in several visits that we had to wait so no star deduction, and we will definitely come back again. ##### OLD Restaurant only: The restaurant is great. Rarely have I had such charming and funny service. The food was sufficiently portioned and tasted excellent. Nice ambience befitting the city.

Went here for dinner with friends, all I can say is wow! Everything is very tasty and you can tell that the kitchen is cooking well and not just using the deep fryer. Plus a real beer mug. Food was great! Great staff! The parrots Adonis (real name is blocked by Google) and Uschi are great! :-) It was our first time eating there, we'll definitely be back!!!

Loving service with an individual parrot show. If you fancy regional cuisine, everything carefully cooked, this is the place for you. You're guaranteed to be full, the portions are generous. We really liked it. PS: The two locally bred parrot ladies don't live here, but go home after work. They seem to like it, they seem to be in a good mood.

We had dinner here and didn't have a table reserved. We had a period of 1 1/2 hours. That all worked out perfectly. We ordered 1 x Schnitzel Harzer Art and 1x Schnitzel Champion. The food was really delicious, I haven't had such a good schnitzel in a long time. The portions were good, you get something for your money here. Rustic atmosphere, we like that. The owners serve themselves here, offering a nice and funny chat. We would love to come back. My tip: Harzer style schnitzel and a nice beer 0.5 l or the measure for a small extra charge.😉

We quickly got into conversation, probably because our boy was running around and creating a good atmosphere. The food was great and you didn't have to wait long. Ambiance was also great. The fact that the toilets are outside is unusual. At first I thought I was being taken for a ride when I asked where the quiet place was. But no, they are really outside and, above all, very clean. All in all there was nothing to complain about. We left the restaurant full, satisfied and in a good mood. Thanks to the Bauernstube team for the nice evening. You don't have that everywhere.

We were in Quedlinburg quite spontaneously on December 30th, 2023 and received the tip from our city guide to try the Pölkenhof for dinner. And what can we say: it was sensational!!! Despite not having a reservation, we were very lucky to actually get a table for 7 people, which couldn't have been a given thanks to the full house. The food was extremely good - many dishes that brought back fond childhood memories - the service was also great and the cherry on top for us was the house recommendation, a thyme verdauerli. So the innkeepers simply gave us a magical end to the year ;-) We would like to thank you again and will definitely come back!

We were in Quedlinburg last weekend. My wife's cousin got a table there at short notice on Saturday. We were just thrilled. The food and the atmosphere are great!!!! It doesn't get any better. All I have to say about the staff is that it couldn't be better. Super mega friendly despite the stress in the restaurant. We'd love to come back!

A very Happy Christmas 2023 to everyone, to include Tomas, in Der Pölkenhof. "We come from Ireland!"

We were at the Christmas market/Advent in the Höfen and ended up in the restaurant there by chance. Very tasty food, local specialties, familiar, friendly and quite cheap. Not a tourist location, not a rip-off (I ate kale with pee there - EUR 10 cheaper than at the market square). A clear recommendation from us for anyone who wants to eat well and cheaply.

Wir sind hier zum Abendessen eingekehrt. Die Karte ist sehr regional und saisonal geprägt. Das gefällt uns gut! Die Portionen waren für den Preis sehr ausreichend. Der Wirt ist herzlich und legt Wert auf Freundlichkeit, Charme und Witz. Natürlich waren die beiden Graupapageien ein kleines Highlight. Bitte macht weiter so!

Sehr urige Wirtschaft. Das Essen mega lecker und sehr reichhaltig. Wir waren drei Abende dort. Das Personal sehr nett in familiärer Atmosphäre. Wir würden immer wieder dort hin gehen. Von uns volle Punkte macht weiter so!!!! Danke für die schönen Abende.

Wir waren am Samstag Abend da und hatten einen sehr schönen Abend mit leckerem Essen (Schnitzel au four). Schnitzel, Pommes, Salatbeilage - nicht nur hübsch anzusehen, sondern auch lecker. Obwohl es sehr gut besucht war, war es angenehm leise. Abgerundet wurde der Abend durch die sehr umfangreiche Auswahl an regionalen Likören und Schnäpsen, freundlichem Personal und guten Preisen! Gerne wieder!

Leckeres und reichhaltiges Essen. Preis/Leistung ist völlig in Ordnung. Der Betreiber ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Jederzeit gerne wieder.

Schöner Biergarten, in dem Super-Essen serviert wird. Man musste zwar etwas Geduld haben, da alles frisch zubereitet wird und es gestern gut besucht war. Aber unser Gaumen wurde sehr verwöhnt. Als Entschuldigung gab‘s dann noch einen Likör, auf Kosten des Hauses. Preis/Leistung sehr gut. Kann ich gerne weiterempfehlen. Vielen Dank für die tolle und freundliche Bedienung.

Wir waren das zweite mal dort gewesen und kommen gerne wieder. Natürlich kommt es bei frisch zubereiteten Speisen zu längeren Wartezeiten, als in systemgastronomischen Lokalen...aber bei der Qualität der Speisen nehme ich jede Minute gern in Kauf. Absolut empfehlenswert ist die Soljanka und das "Harzer Schnitzel". Auch das wechselnde Angebot an frischem Fassbier ist positiv hervorzuheben. Der Gastgeber ist sehr freundlich und bietet trotz stresshaften Situationen stets eine humorvolle Art, was den Aufenthalt noch angenehmer erscheinen lässt. Alles in allem empfiehlt sich ein Besuch durchaus für jedermann, der auf qualitative und frische deutsche Küche steht.

Urige Kneipe mit dem You Tube Star Uschi Hohmann,einem sprechenden Papagei ( nur im Innenbereich natürlich).Du schmeisst dich weg . Achso Essen ,Getränke Service waren top.Der Biergarten ebenso .Kannst getrost Essen gehen dort .

Der Service ließ zu wünschen übrig. Wir haben ewig auf das Essen gewartet. Zum Schluss haben wir noch einen Schnaps bestellt und wollten gleichzeitig die Rechnung haben. Den Schnaps haben wir bekommen, allerdings mussten wir noch 2 mal nach der Rechnung fragen, welche wir dann am Tresen eigenständig bezahlt haben. Wir sind gegangen und uns wurde hinter gerufen, ob wir noch bezahlen wollen, obwohl wir das schon erledigt haben. Dann stellte sich heraus, dass der Wirt uns mit einem anderen Tisch verwechselt hatte. Der Wirt hatte generell viel Stress an dem Abend und es kam uns unorganisiert vor. Das Schnitzel hat sehr nach Leber geschmeckt. Wir haben schon ein besseres Schnitzel gegessen.

Sehr leckeres Essen, klasse Service. Wir werden bestimmt wieder kommen.
