I was having coffee and cake with my boyfriend, and a maggot fell out of my cake at the very end. It was still alive and was moving across the plate. When we informed the staff, they didn't really understand what was going on and offered us two apple spritzers as compensation. We politely declined and then asked if we could remove the piece of cake from the bill. This was done, but we still didn't really get the feeling that the waiter understood what had just happened and how disgusting it was. So, we definitely won't be coming back.

I would have liked to give it 0 stars. We went there for dinner on October 19, 2025, based on the Google listing. When we arrived, there was a group of six people still standing in front of the restaurant. Together, we searched in vain for the entrance to the restaurant. In desperation, we decided to call to inquire. But then we got the succinct answer: We're closed, it's the end of the season. The "current" opening hours were listed online.

Despite the bad reviews, we wanted to form our own opinion and reserved a table. Conclusion... The service is still a disaster. A great welcome, but then nothing came for a long time. When we finally got the menu, we wanted to order two glasses of white wine and a bottle of mineral water. The waiter said he wanted to clear the tables first and asked us to please wait five minutes. I should point out that the restaurant was empty except for five people. We were able to place our order, and within a short time our starter was served, which was very tasty, by the way. But there was neither wine nor mineral water on our table. Meanwhile, four employees were serving for five guests. The main course would have been very good, too, if I hadn't had to wait five minutes for my cutlery and my rump steak had gone cold in the meantime. The chef did a great job, but this service is a complete waste of time. I can't understand how a hotel as powerful as the Hilton in Mainz can't solve the service problem in their restaurant. The food was great - service was an absolute no-go!
