Hofgut Laubenheimer Höhe in Mainz

We have been visiting the Hofgut for many years and greatly appreciate the beautiful view and the food on the terrace. Unfortunately, our visit on Saturday did not live up to our usual standards. My schnitzel was mostly greasy and inedible, and the service deteriorated considerably: tables were rarely cleared or only cleared upon request, a non-alcoholic shandy was served with alcohol, and our repeated requests for a tablecloth went unheeded. When the neighboring tables were vacated in the evening, the used dishes remained there for over an hour—probably even longer. It's a shame, because the service and quality currently do not match the price. We hope this was just an exception and that the usual quality will be offered again in the future.

Maybe we caught a "bad" day. The service was generally very unfriendly, and despite having a reservation, we had to wait almost 30 minutes to get a seat. The food was delicious. The prices are a bit high, but the atmosphere is great.

The beer garden is very nice – great atmosphere, breathtaking views, and a great location among the vineyards. Plenty of parking is available, and the food was really good! I was very impressed with the spare ribs. I'd be happy to come back.

With the most beautiful beer garden in Mainz. The stunning panoramic view towards Frankfurt and all the way to Wiesbaden is priceless. The food is of a standard that is significantly higher than a typical beer garden. We've been coming here since the beginning and enjoy the atmosphere time and time again.

During our short break in Mainz, we discovered Hofgut Laubenheimer Höhe – and it was simply a hit. We received a warm welcome upon arrival, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. The view from up there is truly something special: expansive vineyards, a clear view all the way to Frankfurt, and a relaxed atmosphere that immediately evokes a holiday feeling. The food was truly delicious – fresh, well-seasoned, and beautifully presented. A glass of local wine and the sun on our faces were simply perfect. We took plenty of time to savor the moment and didn't want to leave. For us, it was one of the most beautiful stops in Mainz, and we'll definitely be back.

Rip off. Skate rental totally poor quality. Ice skates have never been polished. The ice is not processed. Walking on it is dangerous and not fun. Upon request from staff - no comment. Everything goes wrong when ordering food - the cash is wrong, the food is picked up incorrectly, and the food is handed out incorrectly. Everything looks much nicer and bigger on the website than in real life. Just because it's Christmas, we didn't want to spread a bad mood there.

Been there twice, both times expensive. On visit number 2: Ordered, waited 45 minutes for the food -> they forgot to book. We would have had to wait 1.5 hours for Maultaschen with a side dish at lunch for the school enrollment dinner. Even though the location is fantastic, the rest of the food is simply not good and, to top it off, expensive.

There's no other way to put it: the food is truly terrible. What's particularly annoying is that it's so expensive. The restaurant thrives on the amazing view...

I was there with my RV and stayed at the "campsite." I used the restaurant and the beer garden (which is part of the restaurant). I really enjoyed it there; the view is fantastic, and the food was delicious. However, you have to appreciate the fact that there's a bouncy castle for children, as well as a parkour course next to the beer garden, where children can ride toy horses that move on wheels as the child moves up and down. The resulting noise level, of course, depends heavily on whether the parents ensure that the noise level remains reasonable.

The ambiance is very nice, and so is the view, but the service has declined in recent years. The prices, in my opinion, aren't reflected in the dishes; both the size and taste were below my expectations for such a price. The appetizer for 8 people was also very small. Furthermore, the staff completely forgot to order two drinks. When the food was served, I noticed that communication between the staff was poor; the food wasn't even written down. Therefore, I would personally advise against it; the standards seem to have declined in the three years since my last visit.

Unfortunately, the service has declined. For the price, you expect better service.

Great view from the terrace. The food is standard, and the whole place is very touristy and huge. There's no real atmosphere. Dogs are welcome, but they tend to be a nuisance in the hustle and bustle.

We really enjoyed it! We're deducting one star because they were out of several things we wanted to order (like drinks). The atmosphere, both inside and outside on the terrace, was lovely. The food was truly delicious and perfectly seasoned. The service was very friendly.

Wonderful view over the Rhine Valley to the Odenwald, horses for the children (some adults have fun with them too), an amazing place!

Absolutely fantastic location! We celebrated our summer party this year with just over 300 colleagues. The team games and catering were a complete success. It was so much fun, and the location is simply gorgeous!

Here you can eat very well and, if necessary, stay overnight in your motorhome.

The restaurant is situated on a magnificent hill, with views of Mainz on one side and Frankfurt am Main on the other. The food and drinks are delicious, all excellent, and the coffee and ice cream are excellent. Plenty of seating and tables on the observation decks offer something for everyone.

After a bike ride, a short hike through the neighboring vineyards, or just for fun, the Hofgarten is a wonderful place to linger. The food offered there is varied, truly delicious, and plentiful. The so-called value for money is absolutely excellent. On all of our (many) visits to the Hofgarten, the staff was always friendly, helpful, and attentive. The consistently beautiful view of the Rhine and the fantastic view extending to the Frankfurt skyline, the beautiful Taunus Mountains, and the Odenwald Forest is particularly noteworthy. "In the past," guests would order drinks and possibly cakes at the service counter, pay for them, and pick them up/take them away. There were often queues and it was very labor-intensive. Now, the waiters take orders at the tables. And that's good and better this way! All in all, the Hofgarten is almost a vacation spot. Simply wonderful and therefore highly recommended.

The summer festival was really nice again, but I have the feeling they're emptying the wine cellar. Every white wine or rosé they brought out was a different one. I think that's a real shame.

A successful celebration with great guests and an outstanding music program with live acts. A beautiful, lavish buffet with live cooking stations. I would say that the celebration certainly wasn't primarily about, but probably also about, clearing out the wine cellar of all the remaining slow-selling wines. It wasn't always possible to get the same wine. Different wines were always served. But that's probably just complaining at a high level. We'll be back anyway.

We visited the beer garden and spent a very pleasant day there with delicious food. It's a superb location with a magnificent view of the Rhine valley and plenty of play equipment for the kids. Unfortunately, it was extremely hot that day, and we would have appreciated more parasols. However, the service staff did everything they could to shade the tables as best they could. We'll be back!

Super great restaurant with a great view

A beautiful restaurant with a fantastic view and a lovely terrace. Very polite waiters, but unfortunately incredibly slow. Many things were forgotten, and we often had to ask several times. The food was, unfortunately, really bad. I had a piece of fried, pressed meat, green salad drenched in mayo with exactly 4!!! shavings of Parmesan cheese. €28 for that was unbelievable. I also thought it was too expensive for an average bottle of wine costing over €50! All in all, the view and the location couldn't make up for the poor quality of the food. What a shame!

After such an unfriendly phone call, I don't want to set foot in there. Impossible. I don't want to say anything more. Totally out of touch. There are plenty of restaurants 😉. I'm surprised that people can still afford something like that, considering the restaurant industry is complaining so much.

Yesterday afternoon, the garden was very sparsely occupied. I waited 15 minutes, then asked for a waiter at the bar. A friendly waitress came and took our drinks. Thirty seconds later, another waiter came and also wanted to take our drinks. Unfortunately, we weren't told what was "out" (exactly what we wanted) until we ordered our food. The food itself was delicious and generously portioned. An overzealous waitress tried to snatch my plate away from me while I was still eating. The service is nice, but desperately needs some fine-tuning.

We haven't often experienced such well-trained and friendly staff in a restaurant. And that in 35-degree heat and at full capacity. Top-notch!!!

Such a shame! A truly great location. You enjoy a wonderful view over Mainz to Frankfurt. The restaurant has an appealing ambiance. But then, unfortunately, it's over. It's okay that the price is a bit higher. You pay for the location. But unfortunately, you sometimes get little value for your money. Just because the waitress is wearing a suit doesn't automatically disguise their rather phlegmatic demeanor. There were four of us, and no one was satisfied with their meal. For example, a simple Spundekäse (cheese) with pretzel cost €14. Nicely presented. Spundekäse (cheese) in a small preserving jar. But of the fresh Ditsch pretzels on the menu, unfortunately, there were only dry pretzels that were certainly from the same day, but anything but fresh. Unfortunately, any wine tavern can do better for much less money. Kaiserschmarrn (sweet pancake), dry, tasteless, reheated?... At the end, we were allowed to go to the counter one by one to pay. Welcome to the corner pub. Maybe we were unlucky; the restaurant was busy, and certainly not everyone was there for the first time. But we all thought it was a shame, and unfortunately, the price-performance ratio didn't match up at all.

Disappointing Visit Despite Beautiful Location The idea behind the "Weinbergshütte" restaurant, with its hiking atmosphere, is actually promising, as is the beautiful location and the appealing ambiance, which certainly recalls fine dining. Unfortunately, our impression was severely dampened by the service – especially by the management. The manager was visibly intoxicated during our visit, demonstratively wore prayer beads, and showed no interest in feedback or questions from guests. We initially hoped he wasn't part of the management team, but the friendly service staff proved us wrong: it was, in fact, the owner himself. The behavior was more in keeping with the standards of a shisha bar than that of a high-quality restaurant – a shame considering the potential of the location. A second visit is out of the question for us.

We celebrated our wedding in the Hofscheune at Laubenheimer Höhe and were extremely pleased with everything. All of our requests were always met with gracious attention. The staff on the wedding day itself were fantastic. The staff responsible for our planning sessions also did a truly outstanding job. We can definitely recommend the venue for parties and celebrations.

The service is attentive and polite, everything is served quickly, with care for the guests. This place is definitely worth saving for cozy, memorable dinners. I recommend it to everyone who appreciates taste, atmosphere and beautiful views!

It's been a while since we've been downstairs in the beer garden (usually upstairs in the Weinbergshütte and its terrace, where we're very happy). The view and ambiance are great, and it wasn't too crowded, with a nice atmosphere! However, I liked it better when you got your own drinks and ordered your food at the bar, which was then brought to your table. I don't understand why they changed that... so yesterday we waited a long time and had to watch a confused waiter who basically brought all the food to the wrong table, only to then laboriously ask where and who ordered what. Our other drinks that we had ordered never arrived; our orders were simply forgotten. We then paid and left. We couldn't really enjoy the lovely atmosphere... At least the food was good! The price/performance ratio was okay. (For the food, not the service). Please go back to self-service!

Beautiful view. Not cheap but beautiful

We were invited to brunch with several people. The food selection was excellent, and the taste was good. A bit pricey, but still affordable. The only downside was that the tables were quite close together, and you go to the buffet several times, so the constant moving of chairs wasn't so great. We'd happily go back, just for the view.

Awesome location with several bookable areas... The sky lounge alone is amazing. I was booked in a small party vaulted cellar. It was amazing. The cellar is great for up to 50 people, and there are many other areas for a proper party. Location: at least 7 out of 5 stars...

Unfortunately, the service was barely keeping up, as we've experienced quite often in MZ recently. The staff was very young, which is fine in itself, but the rule was: the loudest table gets attention. Unfortunately, there was no other system in sight, so we had to wait 30 minutes each for our order, "delivery," and payment in a somewhat remote area (okay, it was busy that day). We didn't eat, so no rating for that.

Wir waren am Muttertag zum brunch und wurden mehr als enttäuscht. Essen mittelmäßig und wurde nicht zeitgemäß aufgefüllt. Teller permanent Mangelware, Service total überfordert. Den Restaurantchef hat es wenig interessiert ist lieber draußen spazieren gegangen.. Nie wieder, dass war eine bodenlose Frechheit. Für mich nicht nachvollziehbar, dass man in so einer location so etwas schlechtes den Gästen antun kann.

Der Service war eine Katastrophe. Das Buffet war mehr als simpel. Es fehlte ständig Vorlegebesteck. Fisch wurde nicht nachgereicht, war nach 30 Minuten leer. Die Tischbuchung wurde vergessen. Man hat uns 40 Minuten einfach stehen lassen, ohne sich wirklich zu kümmern. Wir haben dann endlich einen Tisch im Innenbereich bekommen, was auch ok war. Aber man wirft wirklich nicht das Besteck einfach auf den Tisch und lässt die Gäste alles alleine verteilen. Also wirklich schlecht.

About the beer garden: Maybe we had a bad day, but the service was super slow, the food was plain, some of the menu was no longer available, mine was rather cold and unappealing, and the drinks were too warm. Nice location, but that's about it.

Mies. Wenn Du verdursten willst, gehst Du da hin. Lass Dich vom schlechten Personal ignorieren, warte vergeblich darauf, Deine Bestellung zu machen und gib dann nach 45 min auf. Du willst u sichtbar sein? Dann ist das der richtige Platz! Wiederholt wollten wir eine Bedienung mit Bestelltablett an den Tisch winken. Obwohl sie uns dann irgendwann gesehen haben, hat es keiner zu uns geschafft. Am Nebentisch wurde eine Bestellung vergessen, die haben dann nochmal so lange gewartet. Wir haben uns echt gefragt, ob die keinen Umsatz machen möchten. Das Personal war so langsam, beim Bedienen, beim Abräumen, nicht zum Aushalten. Wäre es möglich gewesen, sich selbst was an der Theke zu holen, hätten wir das gerne getan, aber bestellen geht nur am Tisch. Nach 45 min haben wir aufgegeben. Reinfall. Nicht das erste Mal, dass der Service schlecht war, sicher aber das letzte Mal!!

It's a nice place to eat. Service is friendly but there is still a lot of room for improvement and we expected more in this atmosphere. We booked dinner together with the hotel visit through my days. You'll notice that too. Smaller portions and you won't be treated as courteously as the other guests. Starter was OK, main course rump steak with baked potatoes was cold. Was told to the waiter. Unfortunately there was no response. Not acceptable for the price/performance ratio. It's a shame because it's a really nice location

Leider ist nicht zu empfehlen. Wir waren zum Osterbrunch dort. Es waren zu viele Gäste, zusätzlich war das Buffet mitten im Durchgang und man hatte keinen Platz weder am Buffet noch am Sitzplatz. Das Essen war mäßig und teils versalzen und noch roh. Zudem gab es erst nach mehrmaligen Nachfragen Besteck, um sich am Buffet überhaupt bedienen zu können. Das Personal war größtenteils unfreundlich und hat einen nur versucht so schnell wie möglich abzuwimmeln. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis passt nicht. Wir haben uns sehr auf den Brunch gefreut und sind leider total enttäuscht gewesen.

We were here for brunch. The location is undoubtedly beautiful and particularly impressive due to the great view. The breakfast dishes were delicious, but the selection wasn't that extensive. For example, I missed natural yogurt/quark (they only served packaged yogurt), and the muesli was unfortunately skimped on. It would have been nice to offer more than just salmon as far as the fish was concerned. Margarine was also out of stock; I also looked in vain for spreads like Nutella (there was only jam). Overall, I think the price of €65 per person is significantly too high. €40 would probably be appropriate here. The service was noticeably overwhelmed, so we waited in vain for our second pot of coffee. Furthermore, the gluten-free bread we had pre-ordered when making our reservation was unfortunately not available; the kitchen was unaware of this. The seating is very narrow, so you have to "snake your way through." To top it all off, there was background music featuring pop songs and two mediocre singers with accordions, although the noise level was already quite high. Plus points for the outdoor play options, although the bouncy castle needs cleaning. Bottom line: you can do it once, but you don't have to.

Waren zum Brunch dort. Rührei versalzen, Salat hat geschmeckt wie aus der Tüte. Generell hat viel nach Convenience und nicht nach frischer Küche geschmeckt. Einzig der Fisch und Spargel war ein kleiner Lichtblick. Ganz katastrophal war die grüne Soße auf dem Roastbeef. Schade. Auswahl fand ich nun auch limitiert. Service sehr durchwachsen. In Summe will man hier etwas darstellen was man nicht sein kann mit dem Geschmack der Speisen. Nicht zu empfehlen.

Event managers beware: Service was abysmal, the managing director was not a particularly empathetic host, and in no way up to the standards of Favorite Parkhotel Mainz. As a wine association (collegium-vini.de), we had booked an entire event centered around the "Great Wine Capitals of the World" wine tasting as a central component. Only upon arrival did we learn that the booked moderator was unavailable and a replacement couldn't be found. A briefing at least the day before would have been helpful. Without the moderator, the experience was significantly compromised, as we lacked background knowledge of the wines. The professional leadership and interactivity of the event were completely absent. I and members of the association had to take over the moderator role, which significantly limited our ability to enjoy the wine tasting in a relaxed manner. To make matters worse, the wines had to be searched for in the depths of the cellar – no preparation at all... I cannot recommend Hofgut Laubenheimer Höhe as an event location for sophisticated events.

Hatten eine Gans für 130 Euro zu viert. Klöse, Rotkraut und Soße waren Ok. Die Gans mussten wir zu 70 % zurück gehen lassen, da sie zweimal getötet worden ist. Trocken wie eine Schuhsohle. Die sprachen die Bedingung darauf an und bekamen als Entschädigung einen Kurzen für 4 Personen !!!!!!! Das war für uns das erste und letzte mal das wir hier essen waren. Nicht weiter zu empfehlen.

Went there with the kids to go ice skating. You can save yourself completely. Ice resembles a blanket of snow and is not smooth at all. Also not watered during the day. The skates we rented had completely round blades. But it's no wonder when people walk across the paved courtyard with them. A lot of money is taken for nothing here. It's a shame, because the view is really great and the farm itself is a nice spot.

The atmosphere is really nice, although the Christmas decorations were still up at the end of January. The service was a disaster, lots of staff but no quality. For the price of the drinks and food you would expect more.

A fantastically located restaurant with stylish furnishings, especially the part with old natural wood is particularly homely. The menu is clear, sufficient and particularly promising with an emphasis on German. In addition to the usual drinks, there is an attractive repertoire of renowned local wines. All the dishes were tasty and so plentiful that after the starter and main course there was no room for dessert. The service was also courteous and professionally friendly. What are the deductions for: The main parking lot inside the ensemble needs to be reworked; you don't want to have to pass through puddles with a well-maintained car or appropriate footwear. The service wasn't always on point, and occasionally you had to do something yourself. While all dishes were generally plentiful enough, there could have been a little more of the winter cod. When paying, there was probably a discussion at the next table about how the tip could be integrated into the card payment. It should be emphasized that none of these are real defects that should deter you from visiting, but if the restaurant makes a premium price claim, visitors should be prepared that this will not be fully met. Recommendation: Go and enjoy your visit - it probably won't be your last!

It's beautiful, but unfortunately the small Advent market is very disorganized. They offer a very wide food and drink menu, which is good in itself. But in order to offer a lot of food, the staff should also be planned and coordinated accordingly. We had to wait in line for 20 minutes to be able to order. Then we had to queue for an hour to get two bratwursts... How can that be? There were maybe 10 people in front of us... Plus there were three of the staff? How can that be? They didn't even hurry... It was a disastrous day...

Today we went to the ice rink after a walk for a walk to have a drink. At first there was no service at the counter - a young man then took another order. Then an older colleague came and whispered at the young man. He came to me and told me in a tone that I could probably order now. So I ordered what was offered on the menu in front of me. I could barely speak before he ripped the card off the counter and told me in a very unfriendly tone that the card wasn't valid. Only what is next to it on the board. Almost speechless, I ordered eggnog...we didn't have it at the moment, it came out of his mouth again in a very unfriendly manner. We drank 2 Lumumba and ate a pretzel. Unfortunately the Lumumba wasn't that tasty and was very watery. The ice rink was also watery, the children who fell there were all soaking wet. Unfortunately, price performance and customer orientation do not go together here. It's a shame for such a great location.

A really nice location – that’s what everyone else seemed to think on Sunday. Luckily there were plenty of parking spaces, but there were fewer free meters between us and the other visitors. Our plan was simple: waffles and mulled wine. The line for the rink was impressive, but nothing compared to the line for snacks. We thought the wait was manageable. Spoiler: she wasn't. An hour in line - and it wasn't for the new iPhone, but for a waffle. We strategically drank the mulled wine in line before it got cold. Also an experience! The staff was obviously trying hard, but unfortunately their numbers were not prepared for the hungry crowd. Conclusion: waffle okay, mulled wine delicious, waiting time Olympic.

Obviously, a nice place doesn't mean good food and certainly doesn't justify the exorbitantly high prices that what was served in any way. The Wienerschnitzel for €39 had a maximum of 100g of meat, but included 200g of breading. We often go out to eat, but this was by far the worst in terms of price and performance.

I was there on Boxing Day! Pure horror! Far too few staff! Queued for 10 minutes to pay, then waited 15 minutes for the drinks and then the third wait followed by a wait of 45 minutes for 2 sausages in a roll! Totally inappropriate for such an establishment! The store has real potential but is being run completely wrong!

The food was good, the service was okay. The ambience was okay, the toilets in the men's area were mostly broken.

We were there yesterday with the family and wanted to go ice skating. After a while we got shoes and were able to get on the track. The shoes were all in such bad condition that we had to stop after a few minutes. €32 was thrown out the window and the rental company said he couldn't do anything about it because he didn't have a grinder. A weak statement for a store in this format.

My meal, my supposed rump steak, which was a hip steak, cost 36 euros and was hard to chew. The prices are very high with very poor quality. Don't get me wrong; I like to spend more; but then expect something better. A bottle of water 0.75l 9.50 euros, a wine 9 and a shandy 6.50. But thank God at least you can't go wrong with the taste and quality. The staff listless; sits at the entrance and only speaks to the guest and only gets up when spoken to. The 8 of us all sit at the table with empty glasses and the waiter doesn't even ask if we would like something else to drink or dessert. The only great thing about it is the ambience. But that's no reason for me to go there again. In order to pay this price a second time, everything has to be right. It was 65 km from us. Around the corner from us, the rump steak costs 19.50 euros and that's 10 times better. That's just annoying

The winter world was very disappointing. We were there on a Saturday. We had to queue forever to pay for entry and skate rental. One person alone had to take care of entry, rental and return. There were far too many people there. Ice skating wasn't actually possible. Since we had to wait forever in line for drinks, we lost interest. After a short time, the 13-year-old boys no longer wanted to go. Unfortunately there is probably nothing to lock up your valuables. We won't be coming back

We were guests for lunch at lunchtime. There aren't many other good options in the area. The service was good, the food was OK but nothing special. The ambience is very good. The price-performance ratio is very poor: a bottle of still water 9.50 euros, the espresso 3.60 or a glass of Chardonnay from a liter bottle (purchase price 6.50 a liter) for 9.50 euros a glass - wow factor 7! I find that to be inappropriate - even if we would certainly be prepared to pay a little more than usual for the Ambiente.

We went to brunch on Christmas Day. It was a catastrophe, the table seemed to have been allocated twice, the waiting time for seating was 1.5 hours. Then the table was also set up between the guests who were already sitting, so that they could hardly get through. Then the table was covered with dirty food and partly wet tablecloth, simply an impudence. This was only changed at our insistence. No offer of compensation or nice guests to make amends. We will no longer enter this location and cannot also do not recommend to other guests.

Nice atmosphere, the service staff are attentive and friendly. We went there twice for brunch and goose dinner! There are enough parking spaces and in winter the ice skating rink is of course fun for everyone!
