Still soft drinks. Burgers ice-cold, like they came straight from the fridge. The staff doesn't greet anyone. Conclusion I have never experienced bad food or service at any KFC anywhere in the world. Take your time and try another branch or go to a different fast-food chain nearby. Even the one star I've given is six too many.

A complete disaster for the second time. The first time, they forgot our entire order. After 40 minutes, we were finally allowed to pick up our unfinished order. The second time, we went to the drive-thru: our order was over €30. The order was handed to us very quickly through the window. I checked it, and instead of my bacon cheeseburger from the meal deal, they threw a wrap into the bag. My husband ordered a burger and received nothing. We immediately pointed this out, and a different girl served us within a minute; there was no sign of the young man. She asked for the order number. We hadn't received one at the drive-thru. No receipt. She simply said she'd add two chicken burgers to our order. But that's significantly less than the total value of our order. We were cheated out of €10, including the Twister Wrap I didn't order. Only very young, untrained, and disinterested people work there. Unfortunately, true to the stereotype, there are no "Germans" among them. I had a feeling it would be like this, but my husband really wanted KFC so badly that we gave it one more try. Please don't go to this place. The staff are always "stressed out" about something or other. They have so much digital technology to see the order. So what's the problem? Where are the store managers? It's a wonder these places are still in business... probably only because of the brand name and the advertising. I suggest KFC train and supervise their staff. It's really unacceptable. Maybe they made an extra €10, but we won't be coming back.

From the street, this restaurant looks like it's closed. The rest is good.

Unfortunately, despite renovations, it's deteriorated over the years. At the drive-thru, there's no "Halo" or anything similar—just "Your Order." The fries taste like boiled potatoes. The meat is clearly cooked in advance and tastes accordingly. It's a shame; the competition is easily overtaking them.

Last visit to this location What can I say? I only go to KFC maybe once a year. Usually, I get what I pay for, but not this time. The salad came without dressing, I didn't get coleslaw, and I didn't get wings. The burgers were a complete joke: bread with half a nugget and some sauce. Any microwave burger has more flavor and toppings. The dips I did get tasted bad and rancid across the board. The portion of gravy was an extremely thick, sticky mess that could glue tiles together (and it costs €1, which is just a tiny dollop). Trying to reach someone by phone is completely pointless; by the time someone answers, you'd be ready to retire. This is the worst review I've had to give in a long time. I can't recommend this place to anyone. Go to the next branch or shop somewhere else. Save yourself the money and the hassle.

A great place I go sometimes with friends. There are unlimited drinks and delicious KFS chicken. I didn't see any desserts except for the pie, so 4 stars. For some reason, sauces on self-service have to be taken separately, not from the burger menu.

Unfortunately, the poor impression of the restrooms prevails. I eat KFC with my fingers, so washing my hands after eating is recommended. What awaits you there is beyond anything I've ever seen (including a highway restroom!). The water is so high on the floor that it's running under the door into the hallway. We went through the drive-thru and there was a brief miscommunication regarding our order. However, the employee was understanding and was able to resolve the issue. We even received a small compensation :)

The service is incredibly slow, it almost seems like they're there as a form of punishment. Unfortunately, the quality of the food falls somewhat short of KFC standards. The restrooms are in poor condition.

Very poorly ventilated, very stuffy. Unfortunately, it's not clean either; trash is all over the floor. There's a lot of trash lying around, especially next to the drinks. The restroom is very dirty...and the tables too. I don't want to know what it looks like behind the kitchen.

If you take something with you, you should immediately check to see if it contains everything you ordered and paid for. I was missing three portions of ketchup. It's only €1.50, but you can still make a profit with that.

Good place to have rest and snack

The food was okay, it's fast food after all. But the service was terrible. The guy at the counter not only looked like he didn't want to do his job, he showed it. He immediately started complaining and shaking his head when the customer didn't show up to pick up their food within a second of him calling out the order number. It was also clear that he was mocking and laughing at the customers. Absolutely embarrassing. A lady at the counter was asked about the fact that the drinks station wasn't working. She only went there to look at it after a customer had asked her to do so several times, and she was obviously completely pissed off and in a listless mood. The wrong sauces were also dispensed, orders took a long time, and the screen that is supposed to show which orders are ready wasn't used. Instead, they call out the order and then get upset when customers don't show up straight away or don't understand the number called out the first time.

Today was a disaster! Everyone had to wait, and orders got mixed up! The burger consisted of sauce and a tiny piece of meat! The XL portion was the same size as the regular size, only the cup was bigger 🤬! The chocolate shake I ordered came as a strawberry shake 🤯... Service was slow and unfriendly! The tables were dirty. If possible, try another location!

We stopped here for a quick bite to eat. It wasn't what we expected. The burgers weren't warm. They ran out of mayonnaise, so we were given ketchup instead. They didn't have any drinks, only water. You had to get your own water from a sort of tap. They didn't provide a cup, so we had to pay for the water first. Not a place we'd visit again. Poor service.

Fries were too salty, the patty had the consistency of an old schnitzel, the vending machine was completely empty, mayonnaise was out of stock, and I had to beg for a napkin – could it get any worse? I don't think so.

I didn't receive everything, which initially annoyed me, but I was understanding and was asked to order again. Then, when I expressed my opinion, they simply hung up. Definitely not recommended!! I suffered from diarrhea, stomach pain, and cramps after eating it. It turned out to be salmonella poisoning. Unfortunately, I realized too late (because of the breading) that a piece of chicken was spoiled. The health department should urgently investigate.

Was there last Wednesday – never again! The store was absolutely filthy, the tables were sticky, and the floor was littered with trash. The cashier didn't speak German, and the employees only spoke Arabic. My order took forever. I've been here several times, but this was by far the worst visit. A few months ago, things were completely different; the store was well-run. It's probably because they changed managers. It's a shame, you only lose customers that way!

Like every KFC, it seems completely disorganized. Even when it's not busy, chaos erupts, and you have to hope your order is even processed. Perhaps it would help if they adhered to the standard workflow.

Last night I ordered a €150 takeaway, but the food was simply awful. The chicken wings looked like they had been cut straight from the chicken and simply thrown into the box—they were more like eagle wings than chicken wings! The food was truly disgusting and of poor quality. I will never go here again. Note: The staff, however, were friendly and accommodating.

For those unfamiliar with the area, the access is a joke. Apparently, the only way to get there is via the B1 road heading into town.

I ordered from KFC via Uber One and was extremely disappointed. I found a long black hair in my fries - absolutely disgusting! Since I don't have black hair myself, it definitely can't be mine. The meat wasn't cooked properly, since the employees had already forgotten half of the order and the other half was wrong, when I pointed out that the meat wasn't cooked through, I was met with just eye rolls and groans. The food is a disaster. The burgers were cold, but according to the staff, they were freshly made. Freshly made, what? Freshly thawed, or what?! You had to search for the Twister, it was so small and thin. The fries were cold and unsalted. The Oreo-style milkshake I had with my Twister was and tasted SOUR! They don't seem to take hygiene very seriously here. The service, by the way, the staff aren't in the mood to work; there wasn't a single "hello" or anything! Either close the place down or hire decent staff who actually want to work! This is the worst and most disgusting KFC I've ever been to. Never again!!

“An experience with fire, ice and water fights!” This fast food restaurant was like a Hollywood blockbuster: drama, action and a love story with my heating pad afterwards. A gust of arctic wind greeted me upon entering - I'm pretty sure the air conditioning was set by a penguin. It was so cold that I put my drink right under the table so it wouldn't freeze. The guy at the next table had gloves on - and I don't think that was a stylistic choice. Then the hot wings. Guys, what can I say? These things burn like lava. First the mouth, then the stomach, and I can already guess where the third act will take place tonight. While my body was trying to burn and freeze at the same time, I made the mistake of going to the bathroom. And that's where the real horror began: The faucet was a hydra. One wrong turn and a fountain shot out of the faucet as if Poseidon himself wanted to take over my shirt. Suddenly I was part of an involuntary water fight. Another guest came in, saw me soaking wet, mumbled “respect” and walked out again. Bottom line: If you want to eat here, bring a sweater, goggles, and a fireproof stomach. It was a roller coaster ride of cold, flames and water - but hey, I'll be back. This was better than movies!

Today on January 18th, 2025 we were at KFC Essen. So far good, just not heated. We froze and took the food home with us. Others have also spoken about the cold. Not heating in the restaurant is not possible. Ice cold inside. Otherwise 5 stars.

After a long day and 600km away, I didn't want to go to bed hungry at home and wanted to go to KFC again after a long time/years. Guess I came too late. The food was lukewarm, the tables were dirty, okay the kitchen was cleaned on Saturday night around 11:30 p.m. just before 12:00 a.m. / closing time. Understandable. The team had certainly had a long, hard day. In that respect, it's understandable, but it's a shame. After all, the food cost over €20. So for me there was still a little room for improvement... But it was definitely due to the time. Nevertheless, I was happy to get in the car to get home.

Great food, great service. New interior is also nice. I like the more open concept. Unfortunately, the side dishes have become incredibly expensive. Just under €3 for a bowl of mashed potatoes or half an ear of corn? Cool! Chicken prices are okay.
