Kenny's Kitchen in Düsseldorf

Wir sind dorthin gefahren, weil viele auf Instagram davon geschwärmt haben. Wir haben das Fried Chicken mit Garlic Mayo bestellt. Das Fleisch war entgegen unserer Erwartung komplett weich und erinnerte im Geschmack und der Konsistenz stark an Kibbeling. Wir konnten es leider nicht aufessen und mussten es zu 80% stehen lassen. Es ist aber einfach unser Geschmack gewesen, der wohl nicht dem des Essens entsprach. Ansonsten war die Bedienung sehr freundlich und aufmerksam.

The best karaage in Düsseldorf!

The food was fresh, delicious, the #on the chicken was super crunchy, even though it was in the curry sauce, it was super pleasant, the people were nice, I would love to come back.

As soon as I moved in, I went there every day because there was nothing to eat at home. First of all, the karaage is very delicious. Udon is also delicious. Especially if you add spicy powder to it. It seems to suit Korean tastes better. I plan to try each menu one by one. Next time, I’ll have karaage and beer!

Edit: was there again. Karaage really not convinced even though it was hot. Kind of boring in terms of taste. The garlic sauce is forgettable. Udon was ok, a bit too sweet. Service is good, taste is juicy. The tartar sauce is ok, the brown sauce underneath was better. Next time I would use sauce on the side where you can dip because it soaks the karaage. In principle, the karaage is not crispy or mochi-like as we sometimes know it to be. I missed that a little. Otherwise great. Next time I would use a different sauce and put it on the side.

Even though Kenny's Kitchen is very simply decorated, the extremely tasty kaarage definitely makes up for it. Super juicy chicken with very tasty sauces! Gladly again!

Very friendly and warm staff, you immediately feel welcome. The food is also very tasty and very reasonable for the price. I can only recommend it.

Unfortunately, according to the owner, the Crispy Chicken Balls are prepared in a special way that, to me personally, they taste like they're undercooked. Very wobbly and almost a bit slimy. Still very red inside, but that's normal according to the owner. That's probably what it's all about and it's just not my taste. I like crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, juicy or not, but no wobbly with every bite. Still worth a try. ♡

The takeaway seemed to be very hyped so we had high expectations. Unfortunately the food wasn't convincing. The two of us each ordered the menu with 3 different varieties, meaning you could try almost everything. You can hardly taste the difference in the sauces etc. In addition, some of our chicken wasn't completely cooked through. Ambience wise it's ok for a quick bite and the staff is friendly.

Very authentic Japanese snack with super tasty karaage. They can be ordered with different sauces, alternatively with rice or fries. There are also soups and desserts (neither eaten). Service super sweet.

Incredibly delicious karaage with a wide selection of sauces, fries were also good. The dessert made from dough cake is really recommended. The service is extremely accommodating and friendly, you feel very welcome.

I can only recommend this place. The owners are extremely friendly and informative. The whole location is very clean (even the bathroom is impeccable) The food tastes very good and is nicely plated with care, to also please the eye. Pricing is also on point. I will come again!

Place run by its owners with a concept of Japanese street food. Their specialty is Karage, with different accompaniments, such as French fries or rice. They also have Japanese curries with vegetarian options. Personally I prefer the crispier Karage, this one was tasty and juicy but I felt that the fried chicken lacked crunchiness. The ponzu sauce was delicious.

My first Japanese restaurant in Düsseldorf. I just did a quick search on maps and decided to come here because I was craving fried chicken. I'm a big fan of karaage and the one with the garlic mayo is one of the best I've ever tried. The matcha ice cream is also highly recommended! The owners cook themselves and are also very friendly. Reasonable prices and generous portions. I'd love to come back 👍

Were there for the first time and the food tasted fantastic. When we asked at the end if we liked it and answered yes, you could see that the owner was actually happy.

The owners (husband-wife duo) are very friendly and work hard to serve their customers well. The fried chicken is always en pointe and the restaurant is clean and cozy. I’m proud to support a local establishment like this one. If you want to order to pick up, call them directly to order so neither you nor they have to pay the extra charges that food apps take! Really helps these small businesses to stay open.

Karaage like they are in the book. I had the economy menu with 9 karaage and 3 different toppings and fries on the side. As toppings I had a Korean sweet chili sauce, a Japanese Namban tartar sauce and a Japanese Oroshi Ponzu sauce. All of them were great, but what impressed me the most was the karaage with ponzu sauce. The extremely tasty karaage in combination with the grated radish and the slightly lemony ponzu sauce, simply very good.

Absolutely adorable little spot that you can easily reach via tram and the like. The owners are very nice and welcoming and incredibly likeable. I had the karaage with fries and an original udon soup, which were both really delicious, even if they were very hot. I will definitely be coming here again!

I spontaneously walked in 30 minutes before the end and was given a warm welcome. "No problem, we'll be happy to cook something for you." For 14 euros curry with rice and chicken, a good price for this delicious meal. It could have been a little sharper, but nevertheless a complete success. The ambience in the restaurant is also very cool. I'm certainly not even coming.

For me personally, a very nicely decorated restaurant, very friendly and courteous service. And this karaage… Mmmhhh simply delicious. My favorites are the classic, with tartar or the one with ponzu. Really crunchy on the outside, really juicy on the inside and without the karaage dripping with fat. On the contrary, you hardly notice that they are fried. If you order with sauce, the breading will of course be soft at the point. You should be aware of this. The side salad with sesame dressing goes really well with it.

Ich habe hier schon mehrfach bestellt und beide Male war das Essen super (trotz Lieferung etc). Gestern waren wir das erste Mal hier und ich kann garantieren, dass wir wiederkommen. Wir hatten einmal ein Curry und ein vegetarisches Curry. Einmal mit Karaage und einmal mit der Veggi Alternative. Beides war super! Auch der Service ist top!

Ein richtiger Geheimtipp 😊 Das Ambiente in Kenny's Kitchen ist gemütlich und familiär. Man fühlt sich direkt wohl nach dem freundlichen Empfang der Inhaber. Das Essen ist traumhaft. Man merkt direkt, dass nur sehr frische Zutaten verwendet werden. Alles ist sehr sauber - im Küchenbereich und im Essbereich. Wer japanische Küche liebt sollte sich einen Besuch dort einplanen. Von mir gibt es volle fünf Sterne ☺️ Sehr gutes Essen, für Leib und Seele 😋

This establishment boasts truly authentic Japanese street food. 'Karaage', the Japanese version of fried chicken, was a revelation here. Never before had I encountered karaage of such quality outside Japan. The tartar sauce, in particular, was exceptional. I am already looking forward to my next visit to Düsseldorf, for this place will certainly be on my itinerary!

Kenny's Kitchen ist für mich ein absoluter Wohlfühlort! Ich wohne in Rheinberg und nehme dennoch recht häufig die Bahn nach Düsseldorf, um mir die tollen Gerichte schmecken zu lassen. Auf den ersten Blick handelt es sich um recht simples japanisches Streetfood, vornehmlich frittiertes Hühnchen nach japanischer Art sowie Udon-Suppen und Currygerichte, dazu einfache Side-Dishes wie Fritten, Reis und Salat. Die Karte bleibt also übersichtlich, dies stellt sich jedoch in meinen Augen schnell als Stärke heraus: die Zubereitung des Angebotenen wurde perfektioniert, allein der Gedanke daran lässt mir das Wasser im Munde zusammenlaufen. Das Huhn ist außen super knusprig, während das Fleisch unfassbar zart und saftig daherkommt. Dazu gibt es unterschiedliche Soßen und einen leichten und schmackhaften Salat mit einem schön ausgewogenem Dressing. Besonders empfehlen möchte ich die Curry-Udon-Suppe mit Karaage (besagtem japanischen Huhn). Dieses herzhafte Gericht ist purer Geschmack in einer Schüssel und fühlt sich wie eine kulinarische Umarmung an. Kräftig, dabei jedoch ausgewogen gewürzt, fasst es besonders gut zusammen, was Kenny's Kitchen zu bieten hat. Momentan nimmt es deswegen sogar Platz 1 meiner Lieblingsgerichte ein (nicht nur bei Kenny, sondern insgesamt.). Ich empfehle also allen, Kenny's Kitchen einen Besuch abzustatten, zumal das Lokal abseits des bekannten Trubels liegt und eigentlich immer ein Plätzchen zu ergattern ist. Wer sich von unfassbar freundlichen Menschen in Empfang nehmen lassen und von einfach scheinenden, jedoch geschmacklich komplexen Gerichten verwöhnen lassen möchte, ist hier genau richtig!

Es gibt bestimmt nur ganz wenige Lokale in Düsseldorf, in dem man leckerer Essen kann. Das Sweet Chilli Karaage war einfach nur traumhaft. Sehr zartes Hühnchen mit leckerer 😋 Sauce. Kenny's Kitchen kann ich vollkommen uneingeschränkt empfehlen. 👍

Wir machten einen Spaziergang in Nord-Flingern und fanden dieses Restaurant zufällig: ein kleines japanisches Brathähnchen-Restaurant mit leckerem Essen. Ich empfehle alles!!! Das Personal ist nett, das Essen ist köstlich, das Huhn ist gut gebraten und saftig, ich liebe es! Alle Saucen passen gut zum Huhn. Sie müssen alles versuchen!!!

The most delicious fried chicken that you can find in Germany!!! A lot of efforts given in the marination, preparation and always uses fresh chicken. The fried chicken is juicy and tender. Worth the price and the warm ambience! Especially the owners are really kind and polite! They always have a smile and will welcome you with love! I wish I could rate you 6 out of 5 stars. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Leider wird hier nicht mehr das Niveau geboten, das der Ramen-Vorgänger hatte (aus der Takumi-Gruppe). Es erinnert mehr an Fast-Food als an die in der Innenstadt sonst angebotene japanische Küche. Ich aß den Curryreis mit Extra Karaage (3 frittierte Hähnchenballen, ingesamt 14.-). Das Curry war geschmacklos (wo war der Curry?), wie aus der Tüte. Dazu gab es maximal einen Teelöffel eingelegten Ingwer (auch keine Schärfe). Die Hähnchenballen trieften noch vom Fett und waren geschmacklich ohne Alles, einfach nur zusammengedrücktes Fleisch (offenbar nicht vorher mariniert). Im direkten Vergleich zu Takumi Veggie and Chicken oder Kagaya leider echt schwach hier.

Authentischer japanischer Imbiss. Vor allem ist das japanische Curry & Karaage sehr zu empfehlen. Genau das hat auf der Birkenstraße gefehlt. Kommen gerne wieder :).

Fantastisch! Wir haben gestern 3 Gerichte bestellt und im Restaurant schöne Zeit verbracht. Das Essen hat uns allen grandios geschmeckt. Für mich war das ein erster Besuch und ich bin sehr begeistert!! Das Restaurant ist toll und das Essen noch besser als es auf den Bildern aussieht. Zartes Fleisch, frisches Gemüse, leckere Pommes, die Saucen fantastisch, das Ambiente top und die Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich und mit ganzem Herzen dabei. Alles super! Ich habe mich in den Laden verliebt. Kenny's Kitchen ist eine klare Empfehlung an alle! LG
