We were here at eleven o'clock on a Saturday. And we absolutely loved everything! A truly lovely restaurant; our waitress was incredibly sweet and friendly despite the rush. We ordered the Matcha Maple Latte and a Latte Macchiato, as well as the Tiramisu, and everything was incredibly delicious. We'll definitely be back!

A great place. Very friendly staff. The highlight, of course, are the kittens. Be sure to read the cat etiquette and leave the animals in peace while they sleep.

This place is wonderful! If you're a cat fan, you'll love this place. The food is vegan, but trust me, it's delicious. The flavors, the products, and the "sustainable" cuisine make their dishes a very healthy, delicious, and environmentally conscious alternative. The prices are affordable (considering it's in the center of Leipzig), the establishment is spacious, and despite having cats everywhere, it's also very clean. I highly recommend it. Beautiful restaurant, modern decor, pleasant atmosphere. The food is vegan and very tasty. The drinks are also excellent. The service is friendly and fast. The cats mostly live on an elevated level of interconnected "catwalks"; occasionally, a beautiful cat descends to the people and inspects the guests. Some cats even rest in the middle of the action. Be careful, cats are independent living beings and not stuffed animals! They don't always like to be touched and stroked. So don't be disappointed if there isn't a cuddle session.

We ate well (dumplings and Rainbowl). Cats were very beautiful.

We visited the Cat Temple in Leipzig for the first time and loved the atmosphere! Above all, the possibility of cats finding a home there. But the service was also very friendly and the vegan dishes, in our case brunch, were delicious and varied. Worth a visit!

Quite a nice café in itself, the cats were cute and didn't let themselves be stressed. The food itself also tasted very good, unfortunately there were only a few complications with the service: It took a relatively long time until we received our drinks. When we selected our food and ordered it with a few extra requests, the food arrived quite quickly but without the extras we wanted. Even after we ordered extra mayo and ketchup again, it took forever and only came after we asked several times. At the end we had to wait about 20 minutes until we could pay and had to watch as other guests who came after us were cashed in first. It wasn't busy and the staff seemed relaxed, so no sign of stress. The staff was super nice, it just felt like everyone hadn't been properly trained yet.

Cats, good food and nice temperature even on a hot day. The service is very friendly, the fact cats don't all come begging for attention is purely an expected phenomenon, they are constantly exposed to random strangers. But occasionally one or two do come sniff around your legs or climb behind you and sniff your hair. It's really cute. The food was absolutely delicious.. you could easily fool someone saying the food is not vegan. They also do take away. Personally not a fan of Fritz cola but I am not going to use that in weighing my review. Beautiful place, would recommend.

The Cat Cafe was a wonderful experience! The atmosphere was very cozy and relaxing. The cats were so sweet, playful and well cared for. There were many different seating options to spend time with the animals. The staff was very nice and looked after both the guests and the cats with a lot of love. The food and drinks were delicious, especially the burger which was excellent. I can only recommend this café to every cat lover and am already looking forward to my next visit!

Don't recommend it, were there in the summer, stomach upset with the tuna fish sandwich afterwards, also no ventilation, it was like an oven in the shop and they didn't believe us, no understanding and reluctant cooperation, unsatisfactory shame, drinks were ok

A very nice atmosphere. My children love cats, so it was a MUST to come here on vacation in Leipzig. It is very clean and lovingly designed. The employees are super friendly. The food tastes really delicious. They are definitely big portions. The food is lovingly prepared and tastes great. It was my first visit to a vegan restaurant and I was really impressed. I can recommend this restaurant to every cat-friendly, hungry guest!

I was a bit taken aback by that Katzentempel. We’ve been to the other one at Johannisplatz a few times before, and therefore expected a bit more. The food was okay, but I couldn’t relax at all. It was extremely loud and chaotic altogether, and it seemed like the waiters were overwhelmed with everything. Dirty tables everywhere. We had to wait about fifteen minutes before we got seated, even though my friend had made a reservation. I wouldn’t be too upset about that normally, but there were clearly tables available, only that they hadn’t been cleaned yet. We didn’t see many cats either. The ones we did see seemed extremely stressed. Also, we got the feeling that everyone just wanted us to leave as quickly as possible. Got our food after forty minutes and went after an hour. Can’t really recommend.

Super great experience. The food was terrific and you rarely experience a restaurant that is completely vegan. Everyone can enjoy here without a guilty conscience!

This was our second time having breakfast here and this time we were very disappointed. The room smelled strongly of the kitchen and our clothing carried this smell with it. The bread was old and didn't get any better after being toasted. It tasted like old rusks. For the prices that promise a fresh and rich breakfast, we got quite the opposite. It's a shame, it was our last visit here.

Nice place. The food was tasty. There isn't a huge selection, but you'll fill up well and what's there is tasty. You can also just have a drink in comfort. You tend to go there because of the atmosphere/the cats anyway :) A must for every cat lover. Centrally located, easy to reach.

Super nice here! Super clean and pleasant to be with the cats (I always had some concerns about hygiene at cat cafes, but these fears were unnecessary) The cats lay around most of the time and watched or slept. The menu contains the names and characteristics of the cats and a few rules for dealing with the animals. Everything is totally uncomplicated and understandable. We just forgot about her cat hair allergy🥲😅 And of course we always love everything vegan!!💚✨

The cat temple is really beautiful. The animals seem to be doing really well there and they seem relaxed. In contrast to the waiters. We often go to the Katzentempel Mitte or Ost and it always seems that the waiters are extremely overwhelmed. On January 6th it was really because one person was completely understaffed in the store. While the lady at the coffee machine was visibly bored (by the way, the coffee in the Cat Temple really isn't the best) and three employees were having a kind of meeting in the anteroom and were clearly having fun, the waitress was running herself to death inside. They didn't dare order anything anymore because they didn't want to stress them out any further.

The Katzentempel in Leipzig Mitte is a friendly and loving place where you can enjoy good vegan food while being surrounded by cats. On busy days, especially if you come as a larger group, you need a reservation or luck to get a spot. But it's also worth waiting. If you like and the cats allow it, you can pet them, but just eating in the lively, slightly different atmosphere is worth it. The staff is also very nice and the kitchen is extremely tasty and clean.

We felt very comfortable there. The food is really tasty and the people who work there are all very accommodating. And of course the furry employees create the greatest atmosphere in the world.

The four of us stopped in at lunchtime. Excellent restaurant with excellent food. We had three different hamburgers and a sandwich. All of the food was very attractively prepared and tasted excellent. The vegan mayonnaise was very tasty. Tip: Book a table in advance.

This is definitely more cafe than cat cafe. The food (and coffee) is good, but very expensive for what it is. But the facility is clearly designed to pack as many people in and give a “bar” feel more than a cat-friendly environment. The hard concrete walls don’t even have a single drape to dampen the noise, so you hear every voice and movement of a fork on a plate as if it was into a microphone. And the high tables for sitting also make it seem to the cats that if they come near anyone they will be stomped on by accident. Altogether after 5 hours of being in the cafe on different days, I only spent 3.5 minutes near a car, and the cat did not want to be touched. I totally understand why the cats nearly never come down from the ceiling-level walkways and do not want to interact with the people. Definitely sold out from the old days with low-tables, soft acoustics, and fewer people where you were able to spend the whole time looking at and interacting with the nearby furry friends. Definitely will not be coming back again. There are many cafes down the street with a better food selection and quieter setting for chatting with friends! The workers are extremely nice and friendly though! Loved the people, just hated the way the company has changed the facility and seating!

We went to the cat temple today. The food was nothing special and the fries were horribly greasy. It's also very unpleasant after fried food. The service was slow and didn't pay any attention to the guest. When the food finally came, the drinks were all empty, but no one asked if they could have anything else. Even if the idea is nice, it's really not worth visiting.

Very tasty food and also plentiful. Even though it was purely vegetarian, it tasted almost like real meat. The service was very courteous and nice. The cats are extremely relaxed and can be petted. You can even play with them if they feel like it.

Very nice café, great and relaxed atmosphere

We asked for tap water and they charged us 2,40€ per glass claiming it’s in the menu. When suggesting table water was this price not water from the tap they refunded us minus 1€ for the service of giving us water. For a place that clearly is serving mostly people of the LBGTQIA community I find this kind of behaviour strange. Water is a basic human right, if I wanted bottled water I would have asked for it and happily paid. If they had said it costs money I would not have gotten it or just bought a bottle of gas water for almost the same price. For being a vegan cafe some of the burgers did not taste that good, the pulled pork burger was dry and not at all like pulled pork which is very wet. The coffee was good and the gender neutral toliet stalls are such a good idea. But the food is a bit boring

A true paradise for cat lovers!! The Katzentempel in Leipzig is a very special café that delights both cat lovers and gourmets. The cozy ambience and the loving design of the café create a relaxed atmosphere in which you immediately feel at home. The cats that move freely around the room are simply adorable and make the visit even more enjoyable. The coffee and cocoa weren't outstanding, but still perfectly fine. We particularly recommend the temple fries, very tasty and good value for money. The service is friendly and attentive, and great emphasis is placed on cleanliness and the well-being of the animals. We will definitely be back and can only warmly recommend the Cat Temple!

Nice location. Anyone expecting cuddly cats at the table will be a little disappointed. The cats move freely in the room and on the climbing paths. In our case they came scurrying past 2-3 times. The food was good and the service was friendly.

This café is a great oasis of calm in the otherwise noisy center of Leipzig. The service is extremely friendly and the food is really excellent. (the fries are recommended) If you have high expectations when it comes to coffee specialties, you shouldn't go to this place. The cappuccino was tasty, but slightly below average. The highlight are of course the cats, which can be petted when the opportunity arises and contribute to a great atmosphere for all animal lovers. Would come here again, clear recommendation.

The cats seemed relaxed and had plenty of places to retreat, the food was very good and the service was friendly, although you sometimes had to wait a bit because there were only a few staff in the café that day. But this didn't detract from the great stay.

The food is delicious. I had breakfast with the croissant. Unfortunately there is no real guacamole. They also call it Guaker Mole. Is made from peas. It's more like dry pea puree. No comparison to guacamole made from avocados. The service is nice. But it was probably still new and couldn't really answer questions. Otherwise the food is rather expensive.

I had reserved a table several days in advance for a birthday and also received a confirmation via email. In the evening nothing was prepared, neither a table was reserved nor was there an apology. We were supposed to choose one from two remaining tables for two. One was immediately discouraged because it could be that this table would still be needed. The other table was in the last corner, with high bar stools and the children of the family at the next table had already made themselves comfortable there to play. The table was also apparently used as a "garbage table": dirty dishes and various other rubbish piled up there. The air was extremely stuffy, it smelled musty and actually a bit like a litter box. But we expected a bit of that. What didn't work at all were the two graces who ran the place there. The two very young waitresses rolled their eyes in annoyance when we showed our reservation, the one waitress immediately turned away and sullenly asked us to come in and then explained to us that nothing had been reserved for us and that we should go somewhere upstairs should sit down at the tables for two mentioned above. Then we were released. We decided not to eat there and left the restaurant after a few minutes: the entire atmosphere, the smell, the perception of service - the whole package was just so subpar. By the way, we didn't see any cats... It's now incredibly annoying when you look up the prices of upscale restaurants but don't even begin to understand what guests can expect in return. At least a friendly welcome and appreciative interaction should be a basic requirement for a job in the hospitality industry. Unfortunately, absolutely not recommended!

I would have been happy to have food and drinks served at the same time, but that's just a small comment and everyone experiences it differently. Overall, it's worth a visit, reservations were easy online!

The café has a good idea, is beautifully decorated and the employees make an effort. However, the concept of the café was only partially understood, the highlight being the cake frozen in the middle. It was incredibly bad and, despite its beautiful presentation, dry and indefinable. You should take your own provisions with you when you visit, we don't want to mention the prices.

The two of us spontaneously came here for the holiday evening. The atmosphere is great and the cats are of course the absolute highlight, even if they certainly don't come to everyone in person. You could go there at any time and take photos and sometimes even pet them. However, you have to be aware that they are animals with their own will. The food and drinks were super delicious. We are not vegans, but everyone can find something they like here. It took a while from the time we ordered until the food arrived, but that was also due to the fact that the super nice waiter was completely alone from 7 p.m. (mind you, it was a public holiday). Management needs to plan better. Of course you could tell that the young man was under a bit of stress, but as soon as he was at the table he was always super friendly and did his best. We would definitely come back.

Of course you have to keep in mind that the four-legged friends don't want to visit everyone in person, but it's still a nice feeling when one or the other comes to stop by. Was my first cat temple visit. Very loving service. There were also a lot of cats, although they weren't particularly in touch at the moment, but they enriched the atmosphere. The Tiger Bowl tasted good, but the salad and the remaining ingredients, apart from the red cabbage, weren't so fresh and crunchy that I would want to eat it again.

Only the service was very nice, but it took a long time for everything and didn't even ask if the food was good or if we would like something to drink (which was the case). ..we ended up paying for the plates and glasses that weren't cleared away... but the food and the catty company made up for it...

I was really looking forward to visiting the cat temple. Unfortunately the service spoiled my visit a bit. At first I didn't think the back corner where we were placed was great, but that's subjective. You just didn't have as much eye contact with the cats as you did in the front part of the café. Basically, the cats have a great run there and they all seemed super relaxed. Now to the service: After we ordered (carrot cake, apple cake and 3 drinks), the drinks came quite quickly. The cake was a long time coming...After just under 25 minutes the carrot cake arrived. I don't understand if it's already on display. Others who came after us had already received their orders. After about another 10 minutes the apple pie arrived. I found the time for 2 pieces of cake to be very excessive. If it takes longer, this can be communicated (but then other guests wouldn't have gotten their food before us) and I still didn't understand why the two pieces weren't served together. Except for the ordering process, we were ignored by the service staff (we wanted to order something more and then of course pay). All in all, it's a shame because both cakes tasted really delicious.

Very excessive prices. If I order coffee cream with black tea, I don't want normal hot, foamed milk. I was amused by the staff's idea that they should ask if they have or know of something like that in the house? It is very nicely decorated and quiet. You should bring a lot of time because it takes a while until you are served. One service for everyone and one behind the counter. On the way to the toilet you can fully see into the kitchen. Not exactly desirable when you have to. I'm not uptight or old-fashioned. But separate toilets for men and women should still be standard.
