I always enjoy going to Gao. The food is really recommended. The different types of vegetables are always individually well prepared, everything is in the right “biting condition”, which many shops cannot achieve. My favorite than the udon noodles with red curry and tofu. Just comfort food for me.

100% Recommendation: The food was fantastic!!! We would have loved to order everything from the menu... Absolutely delicious, homemade dishes and sodas that made us very, very happy. The service was extremely warm, attentive and prompt - even during rush hour. The ambience is tasteful and cozy. Thank you GAO team for this unforgettable, delicious experience!

It was incredibly tasty and a fantastic atmosphere. We had starters, a main course and a delicious mochi ice cream of three kinds and it was such a treat. The service was super friendly and accommodating and fulfilled our every request. Toilets are super clean. The restaurant has a really nice style and Vietnam atmosphere that makes it feel like a bit of a vacation... We'll be back.

The. Best. Restaurant. in Leipzig! I‘m always amazed by all the flavors of the almost completely vegan dishes. Also the lemonade options are huge too. Make sure to visit this place whenever you are in the area, otherwise you’ll miss out on a great experience.

Have been here twice and have been very satisfied each time. The food is very tasty. One star deduction for the service because we had to wait a while (longer than usual) to be able to order and the service seemed slightly overwhelmed. But I'll definitely be back.

an excellent restaurant, with a considerable selection of – very – fresh, green dishes. the eye will be as pleased as the tastebuds (to say nothing of the best part: the scent). service is swift, friendly, and attentive. the only – if slight – problem would seem to be the disposition of the tables; if one is unlucky enough to get a center position, the atmosphere necessarily suffers, there being too little space, plus intermittent movement left and right. the prices seem adequate to the overall experience.

It could be clearer on the menu which dishes are vegan and which are "only" vegetarian. Based on the name, I thought _everything_ would be vegan until I found things like egg or mayo in some of the dishes. But that's complaining at a high level, the food itself was great! Rarely eaten such good vegetarian food (Gao's Rolls)

The food was very tasty but the dishes on the menu are a bit unclear. I was expecting a noodle dish (similar to Pad Thai) and salad (No. 34) but what I received was more of a “soup” with noodles in it and the salad on the plate on top.

Absolutely the best vegan restaurant in Leipzig, we've been there for the fifth time now and have never been disappointed. Very good food that can delight even non-vegans!

Always delicious here. Even meat eaters get their money's worth here, for example with the vegan duck ("better than the meat ones," said my father). Ambiance is also wonderful, both indoors and outdoors.

Do you.like good food, but do not necessarily want to eat meat? This is a great place to go. Is is of course also for vegans..... The food was really good and one does not miss the meat for a second. Still not convinced because you cannot get you mind to have a meatless dinner? Take the duck, it will fool you and make you believe it is the real animal.

We had a great evening here with very tasty dishes, the fried chicken with curry or peanut sauce are highly recommended. The dumplings and seitan skewers were also really great! In addition, everything went really quickly and the service was very nice ☺️ gladly again!

My wife and I are very impressed with the food quality and service at Gao Vegan! It is a very clear recommendation!! We weren't sure what we wanted to eat/drink because there was so much on offer, but we were VERY IMPRESSED by the staff's recommendations! 10/10

Absolutely fantastic vegan cuisine. Actually the most extraordinary and best vegan food we have eaten so far. Were visiting Leipzig and had the crispy rice rolls as a starter, the Gao's Special and Long Live the Chicken. Everything absolutely delicious, crispy, fresh and beautifully presented. Gao convinced us again with excellent service and vegan dishes. All dishes were freshly prepared and very tasty. The drinks were exactly as described and presented. The numerous service staff are friendly and very quick.

We ate there in the evening during the week. It was very crowded and loud. The food was very good and really tasty, but the staff wasn't particularly attentive. Despite trying to draw attention, it took an extremely long time for the staff to serve us. At times it seemed a bit annoyed.

Super delicious food, simply beautifully seasoned. Here you won't notice that the dishes are all vegan. The service was neither unfriendly nor particularly friendly, but that was made up for by the fantastic food.

LETS GAOOOO! Cozy, cozy atmosphere in which I feel right at home every time, mouth-watering delicacies that satisfy my palate and exemplary friendly staff that put a big grin on my lips are commonplace here!

All in all, our visit was fine. There is a menu with a wide variety of dishes and I think there is something for every taste. Among other things, we had a dish with "Saitan with duck flavor", which, however, tasted much like duck. It might have been better to just say Saitan. The amount and variety of vegetables in the meal and the taste of the sauces were very positive. The starters and desserts were a bit too small for the prices. The prices for the main courses were okay. The service could be a little more attentive. All in all, a restaurant you could go to again.

I give two stars for the good starters (summer rolls and papaya salad). The main courses were tasteless to not at all tasty (Rau Chua and Pho). We were extremely disappointed. So boring. I told the waiter and he said I could have added chili or soy sauce. But that doesn't go well with the two dishes! One young waitress was very friendly, the others weren't particularly trying. Otherwise the ambience was very pleasant, but you can't benefit from it if the food leaves something to be desired.

Very successful evening. Perfect for a relaxed end to a busy working day.

Very friendly and fast staff. The dishes are varied and colorful. The pleasant, tasty sauces round off the ingredients in an enjoyable way. The restaurant is located in the center of the city, right next to the cult pizzeria 60 seconds to napoli... The terrace invites you to linger when the weather is nice - the interior is too dark and rustic - the lighting here should be improved.

My daughter (5 years old) urgently needed to go to the toilet. There wasn't a public toilet in sight and everything else seemed to be closed. Without further ado, I went into this restaurant and asked at the counter if she could go to the toilet. The lady spoke German poorly, but pointed towards the toilet. My daughter left quickly and when we came back up we were very rudely informed by another lady that only guests were allowed to use the toilet. I explained to her that the lady at the counter had apparently allowed it and actually wanted to offer to pay 50ct for use. But since she interrupted me in an extremely unfriendly way and wouldn't let me finish, I just left after several attempts. Very impolite! Especially since I asked nicely and I interpreted pointing towards the toilet as permission. As I was leaving the restaurant, I noticed a sign that said the restroom was for guests only. I haven't seen this before. 1 star for the toilet, thank you. 0 stars for the unfriendly staff who would rather let a child go to the toilet instead of letting him go to the toilet.

What delicious dishes you will find here!! The food was delicious and everything is vegan, even though the menu sometimes seems to say otherwise. Unfortunately it was less busy tonight, but this is potentially a vibrant place!! Recommended!

The restaurant surprises with every single dish. The portions are generous, at least for the main courses, but that also corresponds to the high prices. There is also a variety of homemade alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, which are always great in terms of both appearance and taste. A nice place to stay, even if it is often very crowded.

Good food, rude staf We were there tonight. We're tourists for the weekend in Leipzig. We went to Gao at 10 PM because it seemed nice and it said on Google "Closes at 11 PM" but as we arrived : - the waiters were sitting in the entrance and seemed mad about us coming to eat, - since there were a lot of dish choices on the menu, we didn't already know what to drink first as the (rude) waiter came to us, so he went away with a very annoyed attitude - as soon as we finished our plates (at least the meal was good) they took them away without giving us time to rest, - of course after this we wanted to go straight away, so we asked to pay and the waitress we asked it to was leaving so she told her colleague to make us pay but they never came - as we FINALLY got them to come by showing them that we couldn't stay more (because of their rude attitude) a waitress came and made us pay but didn't even say goodbye.

Large selection of vegan options, comparable to Like Thai or Vegan Living 1990 in Berlin, but less standardized and therefore a little more varied. The vegan duck and seitan skewers are highly recommended.

The food was delicious, but unfortunately the main course didn't arrive after 1.5 hours despite only medium occupancy and was "forgotten".
