The Kartoffelstube is a very nice restaurant! The food was delicious, and the service was super friendly and attentive! Highly recommended.

The service was very friendly. The Mexican schnitzel probably contains ketchup, as the sauce is quite sweet. The chef is very loud and at times abusive in the kitchen; when the waitress wanted to order a snack (shrimp cocktail), he and his colleague argued with her for minutes, saying that the kitchen had closed 20 minutes ago and now it was CLOSING! In the end, though, I got it as promised, and I enjoyed it.

I was surprised by the huge selection of food. Everything was really delicious. The prices are perfectly reasonable. The staff is very friendly. The premises are clean. I can highly recommend it.

We ate there today. I had the schnitzel with mixed vegetables. Unfortunately, the mixed vegetable sauce was poured over my fried potatoes and soaked them. Otherwise, the fried potatoes would have been very good. The meat was also very good, but unfortunately, the sauce had no flavor at all. The portion was sufficient.

Very cozy, not noisy, and guests can really enjoy their food here. Smaller portions are available for seniors and children. A ramp leads through the passage, but unfortunately only while it's open. Daily specials change daily, ensuring a good selection.

As guest you really feel welcome. Great server and honest down to earth people. We got to stay a bit longer to finish our drinks in the evening. Good food, enjoyed ourselves!

We went to the Kartoffelstube in Rostock Lütten Klein for dinner. After 5 minutes, the food was served. I think the schnitzel was frozen, because I couldn't hear any knocking from the kitchen. Mixed vegetables, probably from a can. Fresh looks completely different. We can't recommend it further. The lighting outside was dirty and covered in cobwebs. Very disappointed. 😞

My visit to Kartoffelstube was more of a coincidence, but I was all the more delighted that everything was just right here. Very good food, great service, and despite the surrounding new development, a fairly quiet location. All in all, highly recommended 🤗

Good home cooking at good prices!

I ate there on May 30th and 31st, 2025. I arrived at 6 p.m. on the first day and wanted to eat outside. Unfortunately, despite the warm weather, some tables weren't available because the chairs were still chained. I ordered fried potatoes with schnitzel Hamburg style. The fried potatoes were quite pale, the schnitzel was deep-fried, and the yolk of the fried egg was soft, as requested. The service was very stressed, but they were attentive and asked fairly regularly if I had any other requests. I paid at the end and noted that the fried potatoes could have been a bit more colorful, and then said a polite goodbye. On May 31st, 2025, the same experience with the outdoor chairs. I ordered fried potatoes with herring, but unfortunately, instead of housewife's sauce, they only served creamed horseradish. The fried potatoes were a bit more colorful than the day before, at my request, and unfortunately, the herring was not good at all. Three herrings dripping with oil lay on the plate, the oil was already floating under the fried potatoes, and the so-called creamed horseradish was out of the jar. Unfortunately, the waitress wasn't attentive, so I couldn't order another beer. When I finished my meal, they just asked if I was full, which I found quite odd. I paid and went next door to 0815 for a beer. We ended the evening there.

The food is really delicious. We were all full. The waitress was very nice, even though she was the only one serving. The only thing you should do is replace the chairs. They're more comfortable without backrests.

Delivery times are a bit longer due to high demand. If you know this, simply order ahead of time and you'll have good, home-cooked food delivered to your door. Unfriendly staff towards Swedes/non-German speaking guests. The waitress was completely different to the German speakers. Remember to have cash with you as their card reader obviously only takes German cards. The food was mediocre and rather bland. It barely gets approved by me. The restaurant should have a bold sign, we only accept cash. Should have turned in the door.

I think the fried potatoes weren't homemade. When things have to be done quickly at home, we buy them out of the bag. The fried potatoes there also tasted exactly the same. I have no idea whether the chef has changed. It's a shame. Always enjoyed eating there!

We had to wait a while until we were assigned a suitable place. We hadn't made a reservation beforehand. The staff is very friendly. The menu offers a wide selection of dishes. The sumptuous dishes are very tasty and are served hot. The waiting time for food and drinks is reasonable. The price/performance ratio is absolutely right. Highly recommended.

Hello, it's time to complain again today, unfortunately. I loved the potato parlor. Especially schnitzel with mixed vegetables. I know the mixed vegetables come from a can, everything is good, I love it and the schnitzel is homemade. But now offering this to people is really cheeky for the price. 3 dishes and two of them with schnitzel and no more homemade schnitzel, just tendons. And how can you mess up canned vegetables????? Just cheap, baked potato with spinach, disastrous. The people who come to visit are older and only receive poor quality care. My aunt likes to go there and says the schnitzel doesn't work anymore. She wanted a senior plate and then they just cut a schnitzel in half. Was the schnitzel already somewhere else? Were 2 euros and completely bad and I loved it. Did the employees try it themselves? Nothing has been done in the restaurant for 20 years, the short-term employees are really unfriendly, no empathy. That's what everyone who's been there says. But they don't need it, they're in a good location, older people can do it and enrich themselves with the small pension. Plus to the one waitress, long hair... PS... I'll make you an offer, I'll come over and order something and that's one of you and if he doesn't spit anything out while eating the schnitzel and then shows me the fridge, you'll get €500... I'm sure no one will come forward... but I'll be surprised

6:00 p.m. at the table, 6:40 p.m. the drinks finally arrived, beer without flowers and with strange contents, complained about! At 7.20 p.m. the longed for food arrived, schnitzel was not cut to the grain, shoe soles, fried potatoes were very black, dry slices, the egg on the schnitzel was good. My husband had poultry liver, nice and dry and burnt. Our friend didn't get anything, was she forgotten? She then got her food at 6:45 p.m. We paid and left very sad, what a shame!

We found the store very spontaneously. Because our actual meal idea time no longer worked out and was already closed. We asked by phone for 12 people and were lucky that another large company canceled. The shop looks very good with a wooden look. The counter in the middle invites you to linger. There are books and art supplies to borrow for the little ones. The toilets were clean and all functional. The food was excellent. The selection is large as are the portions. If you don't find what you're looking for and have enough here, you won't be happy anywhere. Prices are reasonable to low. I usually only know shops with 20 euros+ for the portions. For my part, I was very satisfied and would be happy to return. A big thank you to the team and especially to the kitchen, which is usually forgotten.

This restaurant is located in a district of Rostock. It is easy to reach by public transport. Parking spaces are also available. The potato stube offers a large menu. The food is plentiful and of good taste. We have been here several times and can recommend this restaurant. A thank you to the nice service staff.

It's been a long time since I've been to the potato parlor and it's still as good as it used to be. Fast, friendly service despite a full house. Food came quickly and was tasty and sufficient. The prices are very reasonable for the conditions. The ambience hasn't changed for years, simple and simple.

We had pre-booked a table there at 13°°. The food arrived at 14°° which I think is really long for a lunch table.. but good.. the food was really very good 👌 I had the baked potato with spinach and cheese gratinated - There was sour cream or herbal curd with it.. I was totally impressed and I would order it again.. the price is also absolutely reasonable. I haven't had anything this good and cheap for a long time ate in HRO .. I'll definitely be back .. The restaurant is very popular... It is often very full there...Especially at Christmas, 4 rounds (the guests change completely 4 times) are completely booked. The boss and the other ladies are all very friendly and quick. The food tastes good, but it's nothing special, it tastes more like home. That's not a bad thing!!!! The atmosphere is quaint. The benches and chairs could be more comfortable. Unfortunately you can't sit on them for long because of the thin seat cushions.

We had reserved seats for November 9th, 2024 because we liked to eat here with our daughter and son-in-law. After we had to wait to be seated because the restaurant was very busy and onions and ham were forgotten in our son-in-law's farmer's breakfast, which were added later, we exceeded the parking time by 39 minutes. What we hadn't noticed was that the parking time was now monitored with cameras instead of the clearly visible parking meter in the car as before. And so it brought us a “tuber”, because that is no longer a “tube”, of 53 €! Several inquiries in the potato parlor. Why there is no indication in the restaurant that there is the possibility of having legitimate residents extend the parking time remained unanswered. The obvious lack of interest in the guests meant that we and our friends and acquaintances will no longer visit the potato parlor!

For the second time I came to this restaurant for professional reasons. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the welcome was very friendly. At lunchtime on a Friday it was pleasantly quiet, so I was able to study the clear menu in a relaxed atmosphere. As expected, it mainly offers potato dishes, which gives the impression that true professionals are at work here. Unfortunately, my dish only partially fulfilled this expectation: I had fried potatoes with two fried eggs, currently €12.90. The taste of the potatoes was good, but the amount of potatoes could easily accommodate three fried eggs. The salad portion that came with it was varied (five components), but unfortunately quite small. The main problem was with the fried potatoes themselves: some of them were pale and soft instead of being nice and crispy - a clear weak point. The service, on the other hand, was always present and very friendly, which made the stay pleasant. Overall, the restaurant is a solid, middle-class residential area restaurant that is particularly suitable for regular guests who like to eat out. Despite small weaknesses, I can recommend it!

Man bekommt wenn man über 2 Stunden auf dem Parkplatz des Restaurants parkt, ohne das ein Hinweis ans Auto gemacht wird, eine Zahlungsaufforderung in Höhe von 53 Euro für 22 Minuten über die 2 Stunden hinaus. Es ist eine bodenlose Frechheit. Wir werden dieses Restaurant nicht wieder besuchen und auch nicht weiterempfehlen.

The food was very good and tasty. What I have to complain about is that on Sundays a wheelchair user hardly has a chance to eat there because he can't get to the restaurant alone. Maybe you should think about the fact that people with mobility issues also want to eat out.

A small suggestion for improvement: The location could really benefit from a contemporary renovation. A fresh, modern ambience would further enhance the overall experience. Nevertheless, the restaurant has a special charm and I can only recommend it! I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

It used to be better. Long waiting times, food doesn't come to the table at the same time, soup is too salty, quality is what you're looking for here, glasses were dirty. Lots of little things that contribute to the overall negative picture.

Good home cooking at fair prices

Everything was getting old, so almost everyone was cold or sober. Bk without onions and bacon??? HMMMM that's what it tasted like. Quality isn't exactly good.

We ordered online, unfortunately the quality we knew from before is no longer available. Food tastes bland, the assiettes don't do anything positive for fries... Prices are not justified. We hope the location finds its way back to its former glory.

Unfortunately I can only give 3 stars today. I know the potato parlor's food differently. It was only lukewarm today, the hollandai sauce was cold! It was probably poured straight from the package into the bowl. It wasn't self-made. The vegetables were frozen vegetables! The menu says fried potatoes as a side dish for the steak au four and croquettes were served?! Why, it wasn't ordered differently! Well, good. The seasoning on the steak was a little dry, no seasoning sauce. Mayonnaise and ketchup (in a sachet) cost €1 extra, which is pretty outrageous. We won't be going there any time soon.

Waren heut zum Mittag mit unserem (Angst-)Hund dort. Uns wurde gleich ein Wassernapf hingestellt, damit der Hund versorgt ist. Sehr nettes Personal, leckeres Essen und der Preis passt auch. Einigen anderen Gästen hat es nicht gefallen, dass Hunde dort mit dürfen, aber wir waren froh, dass das Lokal sehr Hundefreundlich war, da er zum ersten Mal mit uns im Urlaub war.

I always order from the potato stube in lütten klein and have been there for over 10 years and every time I order everything is perfect, the kitchen works with heart and is very clean, my children and my wife always taste it, and the nice woman on the phone takes our order with kindness, thank you to all the employees and greetings who work in the kitchen, just great.
