Solid brewery. The food is okay, nothing special, the beer is tasty (I prefer Wildsau and Maibock), and the service is usually good. A bit more aggressive with customers and a bit more enthusiasm would be great here and there. Sitting outside is great in the summer.

I had dinner at the brewery with my family today. The food was really great and very tasty. The waiter was really nice and in a really good mood. It was really pleasant. Our little granddaughter was able to play near us and move freely between the play area and our table. Everyone was relaxed in a good atmosphere. Conclusion: we will always come back P.S. Price performance ratio is really great. Thank you very much.

We've actually really enjoyed coming to the Despite for years, it always tastes good and sitting outside in the summer is just wonderful. Only yesterday we were actually very disappointed with our chocolate souffle. It tasted burnt, like it came from an aluminum shell, didn't smell delicious and didn't have a liquid chocolate center. We had 3 of them and they were all extremely disappointing. Too bad. This has always been our main dessert, actually the thing we look forward to most all day, but that wasn't what we were familiar with. I don't understand and unfortunately the waiter wasn't interested at all when I gave it back. I don't know that either. I hope the souffle was a slip-up, because unfortunately it was just bad and not recommended at all.

After being there again with the family for over 15 years...I was very shocked by what happened to the food. Dry-grilled, juiceless mini turkey without a beer-mustard marinade, overcooked potatoes without salt, carelessly served with a salad mix and all for over €20. Plus white wine at room temperature for which there is no glass of tap water. A beer schnapps that you can also simply call Obstler and a cake that I can also buy wholesale. Not only does it not make you feel good at the table, it's simply rude. You don't have to go out to eat for this. We won't be coming back. There is much better brewery cellar cuisine in Rostock where the food is actually freshly cooked. The ambience is very nice but delicious beer and a few brewery kettles do not disguise the ambivalent impression.

We went to the Trotsenburg with the family at Easter to have a good meal, as usual. But unfortunately we were very disappointed with the buffet on offer. At the price of over €30 per person it was very poor. There was rabbit, meatloaf and fish, the taste was good, but the vegetables were missing... There was no dessert to be found other than fruit. There was also no support at the buffet. We looked in vain for an Easter decoration. In short, it didn't meet our expectations. It's a shame because we're used to a different service from there, Because we are frequent guests and have always been very satisfied!

During our short vacation in Rostock we met up with relatives here. The ambience is rustic, modern and conveys a feeling of well-being. As is typical of a tourist, I promptly made a mistake with my beer order by asking for a specific type of beer. The very friendly service immediately made me understand that their own beer was brewed here. So I followed the waiter's advice and was not disappointed. The beer tasted super delicious. The selected dishes were served quite quickly and hot. The generous portions were very tasty. The price/performance ratio is absolutely fine. We felt very comfortable here.

When you enter, the restaurant impresses with its elegant, sophisticated ambience. The interior appears warm and inviting and creates a feeling of well-being. The food is beautifully prepared and very tasty. Had a brewery schnitzel (with mushrooms), a Black Forest mug and a coffee. The mushrooms were not canned and were fresh. The cream sauce is a real culinary delight. All in all, the cuisine was upscale and far beyond what was expected. The price/performance ratio is also very reasonable. The staff was very friendly and, above all, very attentive and accommodating with the guest in mind. I was more than satisfied today and can only warmly recommend stopping by there. I will definitely go back. I have rarely felt so well looked after.

My husband and daughter received delicious gluten-free knuckle and fries. A vase was brought to us without asking for the birthday flowers. There is also a play area for the little ones.

The beer, the food, the service, the place itself - perfect! Unfortunately, I have to say that on some days there is an unpleasant smell in one or some areas of the restaurant. This is neither due to a lack of hygiene in the kitchen nor due to bad food. Since the Polarium was built, the waterworks have struggled with the sewage system. Depending on the rain and wind conditions, it sometimes smells more, sometimes less or not at all. I hope you get it under control!

Large and beautiful brewery as you would imagine. It was very crowded, but there were still lots of nice staff. The different beers tasted excellent. The knuckle was extremely tasty. Only the schnitzel wasn't that great, but still good. Definitely a restaurant where you would like to go often.

The food, drinks and ambience are great! But catastrophic service. Annoyed staff, rude to the customer who, as a guest, pays the money for the staff. Free tables will be held back and not marked as reserved. The employees then send paying guests away again... The choice of words plays a big role and if you can't cope with the business, it's better to keep it closed on such stressful days. The tables that were “reserved” were empty during our stay in the restaurant. Then it is usual that you can wait around 20-40 minutes for the employees. After 50 minutes the same lady took our order. The drinks came quickly, but the food took longer. Since we had a view of the kitchen serving area, we could see exactly how long our food had been sitting at the counter. There were the annoyed staff or employees again. I would like to point out again that not all employees in this restaurant are like that. Only in the rear area (sort of winter garden) at the exit to the park. But even the reservation is not possible because apparently the day is blocked online and no one answers the phone.

Hello, I only had all kinds of pork schnitzel on the menu! Nothing beef and game as described on the website. Very unfortunate! The wine served was also far too expensive and undemanding! Too bad! I won't be coming back with my friends!!!

I'm here today because I have a job interview at the zoo at 1 p.m. Since I have experience from gastronomy and hotel service myself, I am very enthusiastic about the Trotsenburg. It runs here, oh, it flows like a stream here. Everything completely natural and well organized. What really excites me is the technology. Because the Forsthaus seems to be up to date. If the waitress enters your drink into the computer, it will be at the table just a few moments later. The team is also diverse, which I also think is good. I will definitely come back and thank you for the nice stay ❤️ But I would like to have a homemade sour cream with the potato wedges, because I always ate that in the inn where Fachwerk 7 is now. Back then I worked there for €5 an hour, but I always looked forward to the delicious sour cream. Of course that wasn't the only tasty thing there, but it was cheap😅 Thank you for everything!

We are guests at the Forsthausbrauerei once a month. The service, the absolute friendliness and competence of the staff is always an experience for us. The food speaks of the technical craftsmanship. Always tastes excellent, fresh and well balanced in terms of taste. We look forward to next time 😊

Die Serviceangestellte hatte keine Lust auf Bedienen. Die Qualität der hochpreisigen Speisen war unterer Durchschnitt. Möchte man sich Reste einpacken lassen, zahlt man pro Styroporbehältnis 1€ (was vorher nicht kommuniziert wurde). Spieleecke für Kinder ist mölig und unangenehm dreckig. Teils Kaputtes Spielzeug.

Guest there for many, many years. And really never been disappointed. Everything is right there. Good service, delicious food and great beer. It's also nice that there is now another day of action on Monday with Schnitzel Day. That's why Wednesdays are beer and burger days. Mega delicious burgers handmade in top quality. That's how it has to be. In the summer, the beer garden invites you to chill out. Simply perfect.

Unfortunately, the food didn't convince us of the value for money. However, the service and the speed at which the food was delivered was top. Ps.: When you enter the Trotsenburg you are immediately struck by a pungent toilet smell. This should definitely be worked on. This is an absolute NO GO!

The service was very friendly and the food was ready quickly despite being busy. However, the food was unfortunately carelessly prepared, the fries were dry and the side salad was omitted. There is also a price surcharge of 25%. I can't recommend the Trotsenburg, apart from the beer.

Been a guest here for so many years. Whether Christmas, summer in the beer garden or several times a year. The beer is really great (unfortunately not my favorite Frechdachs beer at the moment), we often come just to drink beer. The food is always great and delicious. But the greatest praise goes to the staff (also a reason why we like to come) the boys in particular are great, so on their toes, always quick to say. We really feel welcome - thank you very much for that.

I have been a guest at the Trotsenburg for many years and have always been satisfied. The food is always very good and the beer they brew is delicious. The ambience is great. BUT, given all the great points and because everything is always excellent, I still give it 5 stars, but the toilets definitely need to be renovated or worked on. Because the smell in the entrance area is really not nice. Then instead of redoing the outside area, invest the money in the toilets. I always enjoy coming back and hope my constructive criticism is well received.

On our last visit we were seated next to the counter. It was cold and drafty. So it wasn't a comfortable get-together. It was also too loud for me personally.

While I was visiting Rostock Germany from my hometown of San Francisco California I had the opportunity to eat dinner at Trotzenburg. The restaurant was lively, welcoming, and the food very hearty.

The New Year's Eve celebration was a successful event. The buffet was very good, with a wide variety of delicious foods. The great dance music created a nice atmosphere. What should be highlighted is the friendly and attentive staff. Special thanks go to the boss of the house, who organized a bottle of non-alcoholic sparkling wine for us. Were there for the first time and definitely not the last time...called at lunchtime and immediately got a table for 8 people in the evening...the place is packed and huge...the beer tastes very good with the food...service very nice and very quick, always attentive...everything was great...it was easy to linger...top address for good middle class.... And another thing worth mentioning...absolutely top price...

Haben nach dem Besuch vom Karl's Rövershagen ein Lokal zum Einkehren gesucht und direkt einen Tisch bekommen, obwohl es sehr voll war! Ambiente ist sehr schick aber rustikal, der Service war Klasse 👍🏻 Die Hauseigenen Bier sind echt lecker und schmecken super 👍🏻 Das Essen hat uns sehr lecker geschmeckt....eine Empfehlung für das Forstbrauhaus Trotzenburg kann ich auf jeden Fall geben!

The crust was crunchy as always. 🤤 Almost all of my friends were thrilled too. The seating area was a bit narrow, but we arranged ourselves successfully. 😊 The left side on the gallery is simply too narrow for 17 people. We were there for Christmas dinner in a larger group of 28 people and had already pre-ordered the food. At the beginning there was an agreement that there should be large water bottles on the table. So far everything went well, food was also served, the last 6 meals had to wait a bit so that the first ones were already ready. Unfortunately, after that we had very bad contact with the waiters; we just managed to get 3 more bottles of water. A few also went to the counter and ordered something there and brought it to the table themselves. It was also a shame that it wasn't Christmassy. After us our table was set for Christmas. We weren't even asked if it was tasty or if everything was OK, and two plates were simply cleared away even though the person wasn't finished yet. Speaking would be very helpful.

Food came super quickly. Schnitzel au four was delicious and very filling. Roast pork with red cabbage and dumplings was also great. Dessert is also highly recommended. Price performance is right. We'll come back again.

The food tasted quite good, the fried pudding wasn't tasty, it just tasted like an old deep fryer. We found the surcharge of 4.90 for using turkey instead of pork schnitzel a bit outrageous. Actually, both dishes cost the same.

Very friendly service, tasty food at moderate prices. We'll be back. Unfortunately, the noise level is considerable when the restaurant is busy. This could perhaps be remedied during the next renovation. There are soundproofing materials.

We actually like to visit the Trotsenburg every now and then, but today I was disappointed, for 20 euros, such a small portion of liver with a handful of fried potatoes shocked me, but the other meals were 2-3 times as much and our women even managed it not. You could have at least added a salad with it... definitely didn't fill you up, it's a shame ☹️

Changes yes but soooo??? A few years ago the restaurants were much more imaginative, today I was disappointed because there was really a lot of new/strange things, the previous reservation via the homepage was still to be praised, a confirmation and assignment to a special table was great and quick, BUT on site Children's meals were greatly reduced compared to before, the popular "Bärchenschnitzel" was replaced by a pork schnitzel and was super difficult to cut, the rubber shoe^,^ not recommended. The sheet of the children's card was positive on the back, at least something to color in, great idea. In general, I find the menus to be very limited and unfortunately not filled with chicken. Then it should have been stylish when the Black Forest ice cream sundae we ordered arrived, in a beer glass!!! WHAT'S GOING ON THERE?! So, even though it's a brewery, it didn't seem nice or creative at all. On the positive side, the play area for kids is great. Unfortunately, the toilets were also mediocre, clean, yes, loose toilet seat and empty soap... All in all, the visit was rather a disappointment for me as a brewery fan from the past. Hopefully things will get better again.

Trotsenburger top dog and wild pig changed my life.

The portions are really enormous! The ribs were so big that I couldn't even handle them on my own - and that's saying something since I'm a good eater. Everything was extremely tasty, and the home-brewed beer was simply delicious and refreshing. I will definitely stop by again on my next visit to Rostock!

Food was solid, beer was great – but beware, you come back with a cleaned deposit bottle! I just wanted to hand over my empty bottles and suddenly felt like a criminal on the run. 'Deposit? Not with us!' it said. Instead of a return there was only a dirty look, as if I had asked if the master brewer was secretly brewing Kölsch! So, delicious food and good beer, but better keep your bottles forever... #bottledrama

I give full marks to the Forsthausbrauerei Trotzenburg. The food (I had the pork roast with Bavarian cabbage and potato dumplings) was simply delicious and the most important thing: the beer (the special beer was the delicious Pale Ale ❤️) also impressed me completely. We were here for lunch today and were bitterly disappointed. Unfortunately, the service staff wasn't very friendly right from the start. We ordered the Brauhausschnitzel and a Hamburger Schnitzel with mashed potatoes on the side. Plus drinks. When the food came, I only had a quarter of my drink left and was not asked if I would like to order anything else. Unfortunately, the mashed potatoes were so salty that I had to return them. The staff then tasted it and confirmed that it was indeed too salty. Now I couldn't get any new mashed potatoes, I was only given a choice of dumplings, fries or fried potatoes. I had to take the fries, but I didn't like them at all. So I only ate the schnitzel and the salad. None of the service staff came to us again and asked if we would like something to drink; our drinks were now empty. Someone came to clear away the food and didn't ask for drinks or dessert. We almost never don't leave a tip, but this time we only paid to the cent and were out of the restaurant after just under 50 minutes. It's a shame and definitely the last visit to the Trotsenburg for us

We have been regular customers in the Trotsenburg for many years. Many a family celebration was celebrated here. Whether in the beer garden or in the restaurant, the great service, the delicious beer and the tasty food are a guarantee that we come by at least once a month. Exorbitantly large area. There are countless spaces inside, even on two floors. Just as many outside in two beer gardens. A large parking lot still fills up quickly. Very tasty home-made beer goes well with the hearty cuisine.

We were here for the second time in several years. Unfortunately nothing has changed: my son had the ribs; According to the menu only with fries and sauce. He received a plate half filled with salad. The dressing poured over the entire plate and completely soaked the fries. Everything was swimming in the mustard dressing of the salad. The criticism towards the waiter proved the narrow-mindedness of this restaurant! The succinct answer was: “That’s just how we do it!” When I remarked that nobody likes fries soaked in dressing (me neither, by the way; my plate looked exactly the same!), Keller just shrugged his shoulders and said that if it had tasted so good, what would I have to criticize! Last night, the repeatedly overworked male waiter outside was so annoyed that shortly before we ordered the food, after an exchange of words at the table, he didn't take our order. He went… So we looked for another nearby restaurant with our guests. What a shame?! Embarrassing, annoying...

The service is great, as is the ambience and so is the beer. We had the impression that the schnitzels and fried potatoes were convenience products. Unfortunately, they were not convincing in terms of taste. We would have happily spent a few euros more for a fresh handcrafted schnitzel.

We wanted to eat in this restaurant 2 days ago and were about to sit down at a table in the beer garden. Then an employee rushed towards us and asked in an extremely rude manner: "Why do you think the chairs are moved?" Our answer: "There are no chairs here." Employee: "He's standing in line (and pointed to a chair) and there's no card here and there's no service there." A couple at the next table were shouted at. I had memories of the restaurant industry before 1989, of signs saying “You will be seated.” Honnecker was probably right when he said “overtake without hollowing out”. If you treat the staff like you treat the guests, you shouldn't be surprised if they leave. We would of course like to apologize for having bothered your staff. Won't happen again. There are restaurants where you can also be a guest.
