Disappointing! A pale, lukewarm beef roulade with no flavor, pressed frozen schnitzel, and the Wiener Schnitzel looked the same and was lukewarm. All in all, a decent snack stand, nothing more!

We were a group of 21. The service was well-organized and incredibly fast. The food from the small menu was delicious. Highly recommended.

The food was very good, and the decor was typical for a brewery. Up to that point, I can recommend it, except for the lack of parking. The service was unsatisfactory. First, the drinks arrived in the wrong size, then the next time there weren't enough, and there were constant arguments. Eventually, no one came at all. It could be better. I can still recommend it, though. The price/performance ratio is good. Enjoy your meal!

We were there for dinner... The food and service were fine... Unfortunately, the cold in this restaurant is unavoidable... there was no heating, and this was in winter with sub-zero temperatures! We ended up having to sit there wearing winter jackets, which is absolutely unacceptable at this time of year and not very inviting, unless you want to catch a cold... Furthermore, the restrooms are not hygienically clean... toilet paper is scattered everywhere, and the restrooms themselves could definitely use a proper cleaning! It's a shame that basic things aren't being done properly...

We come here quite often, and it's usually okay. But today was really bad. We had to sit by the exit—cold, drafty, and with constant foot traffic. When we asked for a different table, we were told they were all reserved (the table behind ours remained empty for the next 60 minutes). The food didn't arrive for 65 minutes, which was a bit too long for my liking. We weren't even asked if we wanted more drinks or if everything was alright. We were basically ignored. When they cleared the table, we mentioned that the ribs weren't good. The plate was still full. The BBQ dip was cold Bolognese sauce, the ribs were just boiled—neither crispy nor with any roasted flavor, very pale, and coated with a red "sauce" (?). The fries were good. The four remaining schnitzels were very greasy (puddles of oil on the plate) and tasteless, with no salt or pepper. The fried eggs were very runny. We voiced this criticism twice while they were clearing our table, but there was no reaction whatsoever. The ambiance, service, and food were all terrible today. We've experienced much better. I want to emphasize that the staff were friendly despite everything. We have another reservation in two weeks, which we will now cancel. It's a shame, but when the place is packed, the quality and service are unfortunately lacking. One star for the beer and one for the fries. You don't deserve any more than that today.

Yesterday, the three of us went to this establishment, and I was feeling optimistic. We walked in without a reservation and found a table immediately—though the staff didn't show us to our table. Once we were seated, the staff was on the ball. Our drink orders were taken and brought quickly. The menu offered a good selection for meat lovers, but there weren't many options for vegans or vegetarians, which wasn't a problem for me personally. I had the house schnitzel, and it was fantastic. For €20.90, it was a really large portion and simply delicious. It would have been even better if they could add a chicken schnitzel to the menu for those who don't like pork. The atmosphere was fine, nothing to complain about. There was plenty of parking. €72 for three people—where else can you find that? Amazing! It turns out it is possible to have a reasonably priced restaurant!

We were guests here just under a week ago and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The ambiance, both inside and out, is lovely, and combined with its location in a green setting, it's certainly one of the best restaurants for a day out in and around Rostock. The beer was excellent, and the food, especially the calf's liver, was outstanding. The service was friendly and discreet, yet always available. We'll definitely be back and are looking forward to the terrace reopening next spring.

Everything was very good. Good food, quick service. I was surprised considering the rather mediocre Google reviews. I'd gladly come again. Only the online booking function seems a bit inaccurate. It supposedly showed no available tables for the next 10 days...

I went to Trotzenburg yesterday with a friend. The food there is always delicious. The portions are generous. There's also a wide selection. The staff were all friendly without exception. I'd especially like to mention the nice employee who, at my request, packed the leftover food separately (!) to take away. Thank you very much.

The food and service were very good. I was shocked by the men's restroom. It stank of urine so much that I almost felt sick. The room was damp and felt like it hadn't been cleaned. The sink was completely wet.

We ate at the Forsthaus Brewery today and were very satisfied. The veal liver and the large salad are highly recommended. The liver was cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes were delicious. The service was very fast, friendly, and helpful. We also bought three 1L bottles of their own brewed beer, which were delicious. All in all, a successful day and a definite recommendation for visitors who didn't find anything at the zoo; the food here is truly delicious.

Absolutely not recommended! The food was not seasoned and tasted of nothing! We were there with a tour group that had ordered a buffet. Since I was almost not hungry, I wanted to order à la carte, as the price of over €30 for the buffet wouldn't have been worth it. I specifically checked whether I could order that way and not eat anything from the buffet, thus not having to pay for it. The waiter said it was fine, but then when I paid, they told us we still had to pay for the buffet because it had been ordered for a specific number of people. In my opinion, that's an absolute disgrace, and we definitely won't be coming back. Would we have had to pay even if we hadn't eaten anything? Thankfully, we'll never have to ask ourselves that question again.

A great brewery – highly recommended! After a long visit to the zoo, we were beyond hungry. But there was still room in the already packed place. We received very quick and, above all, friendly service. Even though they were out of fries that day, not only our child found a tasty alternative with a spicy meatball. The house-brewed beer tastes even better with schnitzel and Leberkäse. We took the 1-liter brewery bottles home to taste – even those who stayed at home enjoyed it! Keep up the good work!

I was here today with my children. IT'S HORRIBLE!!! I had to wait 20-30 minutes for my wife, her friends, and their children because they were taking the tram to the zoo. And then I had to attend to my own business. I politely asked if I could park my car for a while and explained the situation, to which the answer was NO. AND THIS WAS IN AN ALMOST EMPTY PARKING LOT. OK. I placed an order. We ate in a hurry because my wife was already there. As I walked away from the car to cross the street with the children, the employee started yelling at me because he thought I was leaving the car. WHY? VERY RUDE STAFF!!! I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!!

We had a brewery tour with J. and then had dinner in the restaurant. We were absolutely thrilled! J. was super friendly and knowledgeable, the rooms were spacious and well-maintained, and the food was top-notch. J. even came back to our table, asked if everything was okay, and said goodbye again. The brewery, restaurant, and staff are simply fantastic, and we highly recommend a visit! Thank you so much for the wonderful afternoon!

Even though I can fully understand and think it's right to stand behind your team, it's still annoying when the customer ends up being the bad guy. We ate at the Forsthaus Brewery today and were very satisfied. Both the knuckle of pork and the ribs are highly recommended. The meat in both dishes was cooked to perfection. Only the fried potatoes were too heavily oiled. The service was very fast, friendly, and helpful. A relaxed atmosphere is evident here, and that's a positive (at least for us). The ambiance is, I'd almost say, typical for restaurants of this type. Lots of wood, partially gutted timber framing in the middle of the building. Comfortable chairs/benches, and the table height is very comfortable even for tall people. The only downside here is the toilets, with a noticeable odor of urine in the air. All in all, a successful afternoon and a clear recommendation for all lovers of German cuisine.

After a visit to the zoo or a bike ride, we regularly end up here – and there's a reason for that. You're always greeted warmly, the atmosphere is relaxed, and you simply feel welcome. The food is good and hearty. The knuckle of pork is tasty, but could have been a bit more seasoned or crispier. Still: absolutely top-notch for the price! Overall, a really nice place where you know what you're getting – honest food, fair prices, and friendly people.

Bahnhofsfielink - way too loud... Waited an hour for the food... 2 Solianka potatoes - one with and one without garnish and bread, and both watery..... My potatoes are going bad..... The waiter stands there scratching his leg, then touches the plates and brings them to the customer without washing his hands. In the kitchen, clearly visible from the side, people are messing around. Salads are being placed on plates with their fingers without gloves, and something else is being touched before and after..... Wouldn't recommend it, we were very disappointed 😞 Margitta

I remember the "Trotzenburg" quite differently (before the fall of the Wall), and despite its flaws back then, I liked it better than I do now. It might be due to my age.

I'm actually really annoyed that I invited my family there! Almost two years ago, we were just as disappointed! We thought we could try again – wrong thought... After a several-hour visit to the zoo, we didn't want to drive into town, so we stopped by here instead! All the tables outside were taken, except for the ones in the sun (it was suddenly really warm). Several families tried to ask for service – but they just ignored us! Well, I went in and politely asked if it would be possible to open the umbrella – my mistake! The unfriendly, eye-rolling staff had no desire for that! The fact that I didn't want to sit in the blazing sun with my autistic son was laughed at several times! That alone was a disgrace! We then waited a long time for drinks and food, payment, etc. No napkins, refills didn't arrive! The waiter at the end was nice! So Rostock, take your time and go somewhere else!! Apart from the beer, it's absolutely not worth eating here...

Good for a beer, but not so much food. Service could be friendlier and more attentive after several visits. Seat cushions would improve the ambiance. Chairs are uncomfortable over time. The beer garden is not wheelchair accessible; there are small stones everywhere and no level access. There's a playground for children. The afternoon cake isn't homemade, which might be good to know for some. The house beer is tasty. The ice cream sundae served in a beer mug is rather unattractive and not all that appetizing. The food was okay, but could have been more homemade; I missed a tasty sauce. The liver was a bit dry, perhaps overcooked.

Solid brewery. Food is okay, nothing special, beer tastes good (I like Wildsau and Maibock), service is usually good. Maybe a bit more snappy here and there with the guest and a bit more motivated would be great. It's great to sit outside in the summer.

I had dinner at the brewery with my family today. The food was really great and very tasty. The waiter was really nice and in a really good mood. It was really pleasant. Our little granddaughter was able to play near us and move freely between the play area and our table. Everyone was relaxed in a good atmosphere. Conclusion: we will always come back P.S. We've actually really enjoyed coming to the Despite for years, it always tastes good and sitting outside in the summer is just wonderful. Only yesterday we were actually very disappointed with our chocolate souffle. It tasted burnt, like it came from an aluminum shell, didn't smell delicious and didn't have a liquid chocolate center. We had 3 of them and they were all extremely disappointing. Too bad. This has always been our main dessert, actually the thing we look forward to most all day, but that wasn't what we were familiar with. I don't understand and unfortunately the waiter wasn't interested at all when I gave it back. I don't know that either. I hope the souffle was a slip-up, because unfortunately it was just bad and not recommended at all.

After being there again with the family for over 15 years...I was very shocked by what happened to the food. Dry-grilled, juiceless mini turkey without a beer-mustard marinade, overcooked potatoes without salt, carelessly served with a salad mix and all for over €20. Plus white wine at room temperature for which there is no glass of tap water. A beer schnapps that you can also simply call Obstler and a cake that I can also buy wholesale. Not only does it not make you feel good at the table, it's simply rude. You don't have to go out to eat for this. We won't be coming back. There is much better brewery cellar cuisine in Rostock where the food is actually freshly cooked. The ambience is very nice but delicious beer and a few brewery kettles do not disguise the ambivalent impression.

We went to the Trotsenburg with the family at Easter to have a good meal, as usual. But unfortunately we were very disappointed with the buffet on offer. At the price of over €30 per person it was very poor. There was rabbit, meatloaf and fish, the taste was good, but the vegetables were missing... There was no dessert to be found other than fruit. There was also no support at the buffet. We looked in vain for an Easter decoration. In short, it didn't meet our expectations. It's a shame because we're used to a different service from there, Because we are frequent guests and have always been very satisfied!

During our short vacation in Rostock we met up with relatives here. The ambience is rustic, modern and conveys a feeling of well-being. As is typical of a tourist, I promptly made a mistake with my beer order by asking for a specific type of beer. The very friendly service immediately made me understand that their own beer was brewed here. So I followed the waiter's advice and was not disappointed. The beer tasted super delicious. The selected dishes were served quite quickly and hot. The generous portions were very tasty. The price/performance ratio is absolutely fine. We felt very comfortable here.

When you enter, the restaurant impresses with its elegant, sophisticated ambience. The interior appears warm and inviting and creates a feeling of well-being. The food is beautifully prepared and very tasty. Had a brewery schnitzel (with mushrooms), a Black Forest mug and a coffee. The mushrooms were not canned and were fresh. The cream sauce is a real culinary delight. All in all, the cuisine was upscale and far beyond what was expected. The price/performance ratio is also very reasonable. The staff was very friendly and, above all, very attentive and accommodating with the guest in mind. I was more than satisfied today and can only warmly recommend stopping by there. I will definitely go back. I have rarely felt so well looked after.

My husband and daughter received delicious gluten-free knuckle and fries. A vase was brought to us without asking for the birthday flowers. There is also a play area for the little ones.

The beer, the food, the service, the place itself - perfect! Unfortunately, I have to say that on some days there is an unpleasant smell in one or some areas of the restaurant. This is neither due to a lack of hygiene in the kitchen nor due to bad food. Since the Polarium was built, the waterworks have struggled with the sewage system. Depending on the rain and wind conditions, it sometimes smells more, sometimes less or not at all. I hope you get it under control!

This could be designed to be a bit more inviting, but it's good that it exists. The service staff were very polite and nice and child-friendly. I'd love to come back...
