Fast service, very good food, good value for money 👍

We had good, delicious food. The service was friendly. With very little effort, the shop itself could also be significantly improved. Cobwebs in the lamps, cleaning buckets next to the table, unsightly toilets, dirty windows… all in all, it could be a more pleasant shop, offering simple, down-to-earth, fresh food. It's a bit of a shame, but there are nicer places in Waren.

The food was delicious, and the service was very friendly. We would definitely recommend it.

Thursdays, 20% off all home-style dishes. Wednesdays and Sundays, 20% off all potato burgers. Tuesdays and Fridays, 20% off all fish dishes. 📆 Reservations can be made by phone or using the contact form on the website.

The farmer's breakfast wasn't good. The eggs were reheated. It wasn't fresh. Probably microwaved. The glasses were sticky and the windows were very dirty. We didn't go back during our week's vacation.

Very friendly staff, but the quality of the food leaves a lot to be desired. We had the vegetarian burger and the schnitzel burger. The vegetarian burger was made from frozen goods, and the schnitzel in the burger was probably cooked the day before, given how dry it was. We wouldn't recommend the Kartoffelscheune.

Top food for a good price with a good selection of dishes

Absolutely, even 🐾 Paws up -> dogs are always allowed in the restaurant. Very friendly staff, courteous and welcoming. The dishes were delicious; all four arrived at the same time, warm, and well-portioned. The wait wasn't that long, considering the dishes. In short: very tasty, highly recommended 👌.

Located directly on Lake Müritz in Waren. It wasn't too crowded, and we found a nice spot outside. The potato burgers are something special and tasted very good. They're basically two potato pancakes with, for example, a zander fillet in between. The vegetarian versions were also delicious.

Immer wieder kommen wir gern hier her. Die Bedienung A. und die jungen Männer versuchen immer die Gäste sofort zu bedienen. Trotz vollem Haus gibt es hier ein Lächeln gratis.

By pure chance, my companions and I found this restaurant at the harbor. It was still relatively empty in the early evening. The owner was friendly and relaxed. The drinks came quickly, and the food was delicious. The portions were generous—if you order an XL, you'll get exactly what you need. The prices are perfectly reasonable. One drawback: some corners could use some cleaning.

We (two people) were there on Monday around 2:15 p.m. The outdoor seating was very limited. Our drink order was taken after 10 minutes. After another 20 minutes, our drinks arrived and our food order was taken. After an hour of waiting, our schnitzel with fried potatoes was brought to us. It was already cold and lacking any seasoning. The staff was friendly but seemed overwhelmed.

The food was okay. But nothing more. I had the vegetarian potato burger. The potato dumplings were frozen. You know the taste. It's not that difficult to make them yourself. My husband had the hamburger schnitzel with fried potatoes. The vegetables were also frozen. You can definitely eat there, but don't expect much. The waitress was great and very friendly. We sat inside by the window because of the bad weather. It was very pleasant to sit there.

Since the menu states that positive reviews are welcome and negative ones should be discussed with the staff: The staff was friendly so far. The ambiance is in need of modernization. Regarding the food and drink: The pot of coffee for almost €5 was at most carried past a coffee pot. With the waffle appetizer for almost €11, none of the waffles were filled as described in the menu. The burger was OK, but without any noteworthy side dishes, and for the price of almost €22, I found it completely incomprehensible. There was a 20% discount here today, but that was absolutely ridiculous for the meal on offer. There's not much attention paid to decoration in the food. Ketchup and mayo cost extra. If possible, you should avoid using the restroom. Overall, completely overpriced and I wouldn't recommend it. We will definitely refrain from visiting again.

An insider tip for vacationers. We were pleasantly surprised. The servers were polite, and the restaurant is dog-friendly, which is something any dog owner will certainly appreciate. The value for money is excellent—there's no other way to describe it—very tasty and plentiful. The Kartoffelscheune is located right on the stone pier, so be sure to book a boat trip right away. And it's well located, just 150 meters from the Müritzeum. It's an ideal day trip destination.

Fast service (although it was a bit busy due to the rain). The food was incredibly delicious. I've never eaten such delicious potato dumplings! The restrooms are clean. The tables are a bit small, but if you place the decorations on the windowsills, there's plenty of room for your plate. Cute, rustic decor, and friendly service.

We wanted to eat fish today. I love fried potatoes, so we chose the Kartoffelscheune. The fish was very pale, but tasty. The fried potatoes were a disaster—weak, old, probably fried yesterday... The waitress rudely dismissed my criticism with, "We fry our potatoes fresh every day"—no apology. Never again, Kartoffelscheune.

The food was terrible. Everything was cold and tasteless. They should change the chef. Deep-fried schnitzel. Is that really necessary? One positive thing to mention is the friendly service. Never again.

The food wasn't that great. We think it was in the fryer too long.

Unfortunately, we were completely disappointed here. We were seated in the annex. The ambiance is rustic, which is fine, but cobwebs and their attendant inhabitants hang from the ceiling everywhere. The chairs have no cushions and are therefore very uncomfortable. The menu looked promising. We ordered a Venezia schnitzel with curly fries and a burger made of hash browns with potato dumplings. The schnitzel was okay, but the fries were unfortunately hard and oversalted. The hash brown burger was a disgrace. No flavor, hard, and cold. The cheese they put on was sliced cheese that wasn't even remotely melted. The waiter also smelled strongly of sweat, which didn't exactly stimulate the appetite. Absolutely not recommended in any way!

Beautifully located restaurant right on the Müritz. The food and service were excellent, except for the potato pancakes, which were more like boiled potatoes than grated raw potatoes, but cooking is different everywhere. You just have to accept that. Otherwise, everything was fine.

July 1, 2025 An unusual visit. A middle-aged waitress escorted us out of the restaurant around 7:50 p.m. because she had already tidied and cleaned everything. It wasn't just us who felt this way, but many other guests as well, who were even shown their chairs because they were about to close. If a second waitress hadn't rushed out, all the customers would have left. However, as a tourist, I dare say that this is the best value for money in Waren for a Berliner Weisse in a restaurant. Fresh and modern culinary ideas are offered here. July 2, 2025 Today, we were hungry around 5 p.m. and wanted to give it another try. Today, there was a "new" waitress who impressed us from the start, with her expertise, friendliness, and empathy. This person managed to get this review not 2 but 5 stars. Truly, hats off! And yes, of course, the food was also excellent. I can highly recommend both the potato burgers and the meat dishes.

The food was very tasty and plentiful. I ordered the 400g schnitzel, two fried eggs, with fried potatoes and Kaiser vegetables. Only order this if you're a big eater, otherwise it's far too much. The staff were there very quickly even though you'd just sat down, but they were still very friendly and nice. (We don't think work clothes necessarily have to be all black. Trousers are okay, but not necessary. The black T-shirts in particular are completely out of place in this heat, so blue T-shirts with yellow lettering for the name would be good and appropriate.) If that's too fast for you, then it has to be said that it's not a problem there. We were well looked after and felt completely at home.

Today, after a long boat trip, I ate a great schnitzel. Very tasty 😋

We were at the Kartoffelscheune today, and it was definitely our last visit there. We hadn't even sat down when the waitress came over and wanted to know what we wanted. We then ordered two beers and studied the menu. The beers arrived, and we were asked again for our orders. We said that we hadn't decided yet, and that was a mistake. The waitress left us sitting there for about 15 minutes, despite our request to order. We finished our beers, put the money on the table, and left! Where are we going if we don't even have time to choose our food in peace? We will never go to this restaurant again and can only recommend that the owner improve his staff selection.

Service is overworked due to a lack of staff. Unfriendly. Food is too salty. Spätzle is a ready meal, warmed with margarine and dry. Vegetables are also too salty and frozen. Children's schnitzel is as tough as a shoe sole.
