A somewhat rustic restaurant right next to the ferry port. The staff was very friendly, and the food (schnitzel) was lovingly prepared, very hot, and delicious.

We had to wait forever for service. Waitress could barely carry a tray. We ordered food, but it never arrived. The statement was that the kitchen overlooked the receipt. Then we paid and left. I can't recommend it. Service not good and prices are completely overpriced.

Bestellung und Lieferung haben sehr lange gedauert. Essen war ungewürzt,Salat ohne Dressing. Salz und Pfeffer Fehlanzeige. Beim Abräumen wurde auf die Frage wie es geschmeckt hat fair geantwortet…geht so. Hat keine Nachfrage ergeben.

Very friendly and active waitress led us into the restaurant and was attentive, quick and nice to all the guests. On the 20% discount Tuesday, the fish platter tasted twice as good. There is a deduction for the boring ambience in the dining room.

Unfortunately, the food wasn't great. The schnitzel and the baked potato lacked seasoning and somehow the fat seemed old. Plus it all takes a long time...

I was in Müritz for the first time on August 17th, 2024 with Holidayreisen. I had a 1.5 hour boat tour then I went to have coffee in the potato barn and I was positively surprised at how friendly the staff was and the service was also good. I can do the potato barn Recommend further.

The salmon with baked potatoes was not good, horseradish tasted strange and the potato was very dry. The pork fillet was also very dry and very well done. The service was very good.

We were greeted very friendly. Although there was no space, a table was organized for us, there were 7 of us in total. The food, not exactly cheap, I had the vegetarian vegetable pan like 2 others of us, not quite what we expected. The vegetables were sparse, the fried potatoes too greasy, unfortunately disappointed, despite the friendly service

We were there with eight people after registering. We really liked the atmosphere so far, rustic on our side. Original drinks menu. There are special offers every day. That's why we decided on home cooking. In the end, the fried potatoes were soggy and when I ordered two turkey platters, one only had half the meat on it as the other, just not much. The actually friendly service did not respond to the dissatisfied comments. After paying we were simply let go. No excuse. Therefore, as a tourist, I feel very disappointed. Some of the group were happier, but no one was really enthusiastic.

We ordered the fish variation (pike fillet, zander fillet and red snapper fillet) and zander fillet plate in the quaint, rustic restaurant. The fish was delicious and the fried potatoes and vegetables also tasted good. We were there on a Tuesday, where there was a 20 percent discount on all fish dishes. The friendly employee was an additional plus. The restaurant is really highly recommended.

The food was really very tasty. My vegan meal (baked potato) definitely gets 5 stars. It was also very tasty to look at. Unfortunately, the fried potatoes in my husband's dish with schnitzel were too cool. But overall, this restaurant can be recommended with a clear conscience.

We were lucky to get a table at 7pm today. Even though it was busy, the staff were very friendly. The food was very tasty and very plentiful.

The food was super bad. The schnitzels were full of fat (frozen product), the vegetables were only steamed and very cold, the fried potatoes were at least 2 days old. My stomach didn't tolerate all the fat well. The service was ok. The ambience is shabby. It's best to move on.

There is great, delicious food here. 😋 The zander burger is super delicious!!! It consists of 2 potato pancakes, pike perch and whatever greens belong in the burger. I can only recommend it. It's a must when you're here in Waren!!! I'll definitely come back here on my next vacation 😉

The critical reviews are incomprehensible to us. We had lunch on the terrace in mid-August 2024 and had absolutely nothing to complain about - quite the opposite. Maybe it depends on the chef... The dishes we chose were the “Spicy Turkey Pan” and the “Zanderburger”. Both were generous portions, nicely presented on the plates (unfortunately I forgot to take a photo) and tasted really delicious. Crunchy vegetables, tender turkey meat, crispy (not too fatty) fried potatoes and golden brown fried potato pancakes. Everything freshly prepared and served hot. After we were very disappointed the day before with another large restaurant in the city center, we enjoyed the culinary stop at the potato barn - we really enjoyed it. That's why we give it a clear recommendation!

Great location on the edge of downtown Waren. Nice beer garden (if the weather is right) and rustic interior. The service was very quick, had everything in view and was super friendly and natural. The prices are within the range of Waren prices. But you can also find rustic dishes at home cooking at a cheaper price. Please note the 20% days on which selected categories are 20% cheaper. We had schnitzel and the zander and potato burger. Both very tasty.

Super nice service, good atmosphere too. The meal was quite a failure, the plate was a single puddle of oil, the schnitzel was floating in the oil, which didn't do my stomach any good.

I can't judge food... We waited 90 minutes for our food because we were forgotten. We ended up leaving hungry and the waitress didn't even think it was necessary to apologize. After a nice trip from Berlin to the Müritz, this was a very bad end.

The potato barn became our regular restaurant during our week-long vacation in Waren. The food was always very good and there are many different dishes. The burgers are great, made with homemade potato pancakes. Drinks menu on a bottle...great idea. The potato barn was always very well attended and we met guests there several times who, like us, often went there to eat...that certainly speaks for itself. Employees are all very friendly. You sometimes have to wait a bit to order and pay, as only one employee takes the orders and collects them...the other employees bring the food and clear it away. That could perhaps be changed, as there are quite a few tables outside to sit on. We enjoyed eating there and always had our final drink there.

Contrary to all the complainers, really good food at reasonable prices, we were guests in the house 3-4 times, tried a wide variety of dishes, everything was top, the employees run like weasels, are nice, courteous and attentive despite the high rush, the restaurant "Alt Waren "presented us with exactly the opposite. Small portions, unseasoned, staff shows little interest.

After visiting the old town I was looking for something for dinner. This restaurant has a large menu where there is something for everyone. However, it is better if there are not too many dishes on offer. The service is very nice and the order was processed quickly. The food was tasty and well made. Only the toilets are a bit narrow, dark and uncomfortable. There will be a queue with a lot of people.

It tastes very good here and the staff treats you as a human being. Quite normal and not as cat-friendly as in the other restaurants. JUST NORMAL. Gladly again.

It's a real shame about the money we left there. (Two people) At first we only got a meal where the meat was far too dry and the sauce also seemed like a finished dish to us along with the potatoes. When the second meal came about half an hour later, it still wasn't any better. The fries were rock hard and the rest... well... we won't be back... Even the staff's apology didn't make the food any better for the price. It's a shame...but it looked really good at first.

My wife's food contained long black hair, a small portion of chanterelles with potatoes and salad, When we complained, the waitress told us it could happen No new plate or price accommodation, never eat there again, overpriced and very poor value for money.

We were in the potato barn on July 22, 2024. There was a waitress responsible for taking drinks and food orders. For what feels like 40 tables. I just say catastrophic. What I have to say is that she was very, very friendly. Two other servers were responsible for food and drink delivery. Cleaning tables not included. The food was mediocre. We were on vacation in Waren for 10 days, but we went to the potato barn once and for the last time to eat. Honestly, if you want to achieve masses, then with sensible staff.

Been a go-to place for a well-maintained meal for 5 years and have never been disappointed. So it's in the specifications when I'm here. Keep it up, even if you carry the circumstances on your shoulders, I thank you 👍

Starter platter was okay, potato soup tasted like children's porridge without any taste! A water cost €5.25 there, even though you couldn't even see how much a water cost because it wasn't on any menu... We had pan with fried potatoes... The minced meat tasted like tofu and the fried potatoes weren't fried potatoes . Just ready-made fried potatoes that were briefly sautéed in the pan. Mega bad food and no one there was interested in our opinion of the food.

Located at the harbor. However, the food was both dripping in fat and tasted bland. Nice ideas poorly implemented. Several tables were also obviously crumbly even though there wasn't much going on. However, that matched the visually run-down impression. A pity.

If you go to the museum you can also stop here, especially the burgers are highlights for vegan people (not really). If you want to eat a good schnitzel or fancy a 2000 calorie burger, you've come to the right place, but I have to disappoint my dessert lovers.

I had lunch there with my wife on 7/23/24. The service was great, our waitress was super nice and attentive. The view of the Müritz is really beautiful. Our food came quickly. My wife had the turkey schnitzel with chanterelles and I had the large fish variation. My dish didn't have that much variation. The fish was tasty, the fried potatoes were good, and the (frozen) vegetables too. However, I am able to prepare this meal at home with the same quality. So it didn't blow me away. My wife's turkey schnitzel could have used a little more seasoning but the chanterelles were great. All in all, a good meal, but that's not exactly what I go to the restaurant for. The restroom was very cramped and I had to wait for another gentleman to wash and dry his hands before I could come out of the stall. Unfortunately, when I entered the cabin, the toilet seat immediately flew towards me. This needs repair.

Rustic, old German and real pub flair. The service was very nice and everything went very quickly. The potato dishes were all delicious and are recommended. There was nothing to complain about.

Waren am Dienstag Abend dort, Laden war gut gefüllt, hatten reserviert. Ambiente ist rustikal, Tische und Stühle ebenfalls. Wir haben uns wohlgefühlt, Service war freundlich und aufmerksam. Wir hatten verschiedene Kartoffelburger, und die Putenpfanne. Die Kartoffelpuffer waren frisch und knusprig, Schnitzel gut paniert, Schweinemedaillons ein bißchen fest. Aber die Kombination von Kartoffelpuffer mit Bacon, Käse, Salat etc. war echt super. Es könnte auch für ein rustikales Wirtshaus ein wenig sauberer sein. Wir werden in unserem Urlaub sicher noch mal wiederkommen. Hunde willkommen.

Despite the full house, the staff always has a smile on their faces. We had dinner here for the third time now, everything was fresh and beautifully prepared. Ordered a table at short notice for 9 people, quickly put a few tables together without any problems, the entire staff was just great.

The farmer's breakfast was the worst thing I have ever eaten in a potato house. Potatoes from frozen Ready-made potatoes fried, like all the other dishes, which is unworthy of a potato house, the eggs were over-fried and therefore too dry, hardly any bacon or onions, totally unseasoned, just slapped on the plate. Send the chef to cooking school again.

Unfortunately we were completely ignored. All the guests after us had already ordered their food and we hadn't even ordered it yet. the notice to the waiter, he tells his colleague. Unfortunately, after almost 45 minutes, the children lost their patience and we left with an empty stomach. Other people's food looked good. That's why I gave it 3 stars.
