We came spontaneously for lunch, got a nice table without a reservation... The food was good overall, the fried potatoes could have been crispier... otherwise, a nice atmosphere...

After visiting the Müritzeum with our dog, we stopped in for a bite to eat. Our dog was lovingly offered a water bowl first, as well as a welcome treat by the animal-friendly staff member – this isn't always the case, thank you! We enjoyed coffee, cake, and ice cream, all very delicious and reasonably priced. We'll definitely be back. Greetings to the friendly team!

The East German-style sign in the drafty area, "Please wait, you will be seated," was a must for a restaurant with that name. After all, tradition is highly valued. The food is mediocre, apparently sufficient for the high volume of walk-in customers. The ambiance encompasses what the Müritzeum building offered. Otherwise, it's also just so-so.

We love it here! The food is wonderful, the waitresses are very friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. The prices are also good and totally justified. A must for any holiday in Waren!

A beautifully decorated restaurant with pictures of historical wares. They serve good German cuisine, including schnitzel, fish, etc. Reservations are recommended for dinner.

We just had a delicious meal. The staff was excellent. They even had a lovely surprise for our wedding anniversary... everything was spontaneous and absolutely wonderful...

Great food but the staff has an attitude unfortunately

After visiting the Müritzeum, we stopped for a bite to eat at the restaurant. It's right next to the museum, just one door away. Since we were there in the afternoon, it wasn't very busy. The server was immediately attentive and offered us a nice table. Our drinks arrived right away, and we ordered our food. We had solyanka and head cheese with fried potatoes. Everything was beautifully presented, tasted delicious, and was quite plentiful. We'd love to come back in the summer, as the harbor is nearby, and you can easily go boating from there. Parking is available in the surrounding lot.

Wow...what a fantastic restaurant! Everything is perfect...from the service to the food, simply superb... We had pork knuckle on Friday and duck on Saturday... Amazing! We ate here on Tuesday. The ambiance is very appealing and inviting. I had the venison goulash with potato dumplings. Red cabbage wasn't listed on the menu, but it was available to order separately, which I did. My husband had the head cheese with remoulade. The food arrived after a reasonable wait. The venison goulash and dumplings were tasty, and the extra red cabbage was also appealing. The real shock came with the bill, where the red cabbage was charged at €5! Why would they offer venison goulash with dumplings without red cabbage? I've truly never experienced anything like it, hence only 3 stars.

I'd like to pay a huge compliment to the team at "Alt Waren." We were in Neubrandenburg for a league game. Nobody there was interested in offering us lunch. Okay, we were a little late. On the way back from Neubrandenburg to Waren, we reserved a table for five people. We didn't arrive until 3:30 p.m., and the restaurant closes at 4:00 p.m. A big but: we were still served very nicely and courteously. It wasn't a problem at all that we arrived so late. A big compliment for that. The food was excellent, as always, and the service was just right. I can only recommend it. A great choice. Please keep up the good work.

Without a reservation it is not possible to get a place, well that is probably usual in Waren in the off-season

This restaurant is simply a dream. I ate the best rump steak of my life there. The service is really friendly and quick to fulfill your wishes. Dogs are also allowed in this restaurant, and they are well looked after, with a bowl of water and, if needed, a treat. Truly great. The ambiance is modern and truly cozy. Even when the place is full, you can have a decent conversation. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. We'll definitely be back.

During a spontaneous visit on Saturday evening, we were lucky enough to get two seats at the regulars' table. If you want to be on the safe side, we recommend making a reservation. Our schnitzel dishes were delicious and plentiful. The staff was witty and friendly despite the packed place and a sudden storm that forced guests inside from the terrace, even though there were no seats available there.

Had a lovely lunch here with my husband today. The restaurant is right next to the Müritzeum. You can sit outside or inside, which is lovely. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. Since we wanted to sit outside, I needed something to sit on... a pillow or a blanket. Without a doubt, they provided two lovely blankets for my dad! We ordered drinks... I wanted an Aperol, but the waiter said there was something better 🤔 He recommended a Sarti Spritz... and it was incredibly delicious 🥰 Everything was top-notch and clean. The food came as ordered... we were a bit early... they were completely accommodating. Our request for dessert was promptly answered. TOP-NOTCH and highly recommended!

The food was very good, but... If you seem understaffed (3 waitresses at what appears to be 75% capacity), you should let guests know upon arrival so they can prepare for it. Waiting a long time for every order or question is unacceptable... sorry, but since eating out has become so expensive, the service should at least be good...!!!

Waiter Kenny is simply fantastic! He gave us a wonderful evening. The food was very good, only the fried potatoes were a bit soggy. The women's restrooms unfortunately had a very strong smell. Kenny can't be blamed for either. 😄

We followed a recommendation from locals. We've rarely been welcomed so warmly. The food and service were/are excellent. Highly recommended. We were looking for a restaurant in Waren on a Saturday and were able to reserve a table here. We ordered the rump steak and a hamburger schnitzel, each with fried potatoes. Both dishes were really good. Succulent meat and delicious fried potatoes with bacon. The rump steak was served with a salad. The server was very friendly, and both the food and drinks arrived fairly quickly. The two dishes, a portion of fries, and three drinks cost about €65. The portions were large enough to fill you up. A reasonable price for the quality offered in the city center of a tourist town like Waren. Overall, the visit was a very positive experience, and we would gladly eat there again.

Very good German cuisine We arrived just before closing time, but our food was hot and delicious. The portions were good, reasonably priced, and pretty good, as you'd expect. I paired it with a Müritzer Gold beer, which was super drinkable. I highly recommend a visit 🥩🍺

Well, unfortunately, things didn't go well for the restaurant at the Müritzeum that day. We ordered pork medallions with bacon-covered beans and croquettes with hollandaise for just under €25. A good portion, but the hollandaise was only in drops, no bacon on the beans, and the pork was roasted to death twice. We've never had medallions so dry. My fries with my Förster schnitzel were drenched in fat...maybe it was just a bad day, so we can't recommend the food there at that price. At least on the upside, we were offered an espresso as an apology, which we declined.

A very nice restaurant in a prime location. We had a very good meal here. The menu even had something for our teenagers. We recommend the fish and schnitzel. The portions were generous. The service was attentive and friendly. We'd love to go back!

The vegetarian food was a real disappointment! We found the €18 pasta with a vegetable patty and potato wedges with creamed vegetables to be a bit of a cheek, especially since it tasted like frozen food. The service was quite satisfactory.

Very friendly staff. Absolutely great. Pasta was overcooked and very salty. Spare ribs were okay, as was the spicy sauce. Unfortunately, there was no dip for the potato wedges, and only a slice of tomato as a topping. The kids' box was OK, but the fries could be better. Mixed feelings; maybe I'll try another dish.

Was there again for a long time, at the new location in the Müritzeum. Had Wiener Schnitzel with fries, portion was sufficient, I found the schnitzel too salty. And the waitress made me wait quite a bit for the second drink (even though there wasn't much going on) One minus point, there is no light Hefeweizen. SECOND time eating, this time inside. All tables were occupied, service was good, and the food... there was steak 250g with fries. The meat was good and so were the fries. Was very satisfied.

We ate at the restaurant today and, despite bringing our dog, had no problem getting a seat inside. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very open and friendly. The pictures of old Waren on the wall are very nice. The food was very good and everyone enjoyed it. It was also pleasantly affordable compared to the sometimes overpriced restaurants at the harbor. So if you're planning a visit to the Müritzeum anyway, or just want to enjoy a delicious meal in Waren, I recommend the "Alt Waren" restaurant.

We were there for coffee and cake. The cake was delicious but very small. The price/performance ratio was not good at all. The lady who greeted us was not very friendly. The young man who served us was friendly but unfortunately overwhelmed.

This wasn't my first visit. The food here is simply excellent, and the staff are super nice, friendly, and well-trained. This time, there were just two of us and we were actually there at the last minute. That wasn't a problem, and we had a really delicious meal. It's always a great overall experience. A bit like coming home.

We visited the Alt Waren Essen restaurant during our vacation on June 4, 2025, and were extremely satisfied with the food and the extremely friendly and attentive service. The prices are reasonable, and the food is truly freshly prepared, not prefabricated. We could hear our schnitzels being freshly pounded, and the asparagus was cooked to perfection. Please keep up the good work, and we're already looking forward to our next visit.
