Neither the ambience nor the food are really convincing. The dishes are rustic and prepared with little love. Unfortunately the quality of the food is also not good. A lot of things taste like finished products that absolutely don't match the high prices. The beer was great!

Noch nie so schlecht gegessen; vom Service ganz zu schweigen! Das "Essen" bestand aus einer Anhäufung von Tiefkühlkost, insbesondere die Beilagen Bratkartoffeln, Pommes und Kroketten mit Tütensoßen waren kaum eßbar. Was sich hinter dem Fleisch verbarg, wollten wir lieber erst gar nicht wissen. Nachdem wir unseren Unmut über die Qualität der Speisen kundgetan hatten, wurde der "Koch" aus der Küche an unseren Tisch zitiert...mehr als peinlich! Kundenservice geht anders! Am Rande sei noch erwähnt, dass sich der Service nicht imstande sah, das von uns bestellte "Schöfferhofer Grapefruit" vor dem Einschenken aufzuschütteln, sodass der Bodensatz mit dem Fruchtanteil bis zum Schluß verblieb.

Were there for the first time. Even though everything was fully booked, the four of us still managed to get a table before opening time. Harzburger potato rösti and deer goulash were delicious and served in a friendly and courteous manner. Will come back when we are back in the country.

Friendly service, very good food. The only complaint was the noise in the restaurant. Conversations at the table were difficult at first (including dogs barking)...when it emptied later it was perfect.

It was nice from the outside, nice service and you actually got a seat spontaneously. But unfortunately I didn't think the food was that good. So yes you can eat it. But it wasn't so outstanding that I would want to go there again.

I had imagined Harzburger Rösti differently. Homemade looks different. Service was friendly (the dark-haired service person didn't feel like it somehow) and the blonde young woman was very friendly. All in all it went like this...

We stayed at the Alter Speicher at the end of our week of vacation and were absolutely satisfied. The atmosphere is nice, the service is attentive and everyone (2 adults, 2 children) enjoyed the food very much. Top!

We had the pleasure of visiting the Potato House and absolutely loved it! The ambience is cozy and inviting, with a charming rustic touch that fits perfectly with the menu. The service was first class. The staff were friendly, attentive and made us feel truly welcome. They made sure we were comfortable and answered all of our questions about the dishes. The menu offers an impressive variety of potato dishes, prepared with creativity and attention to detail. We tried several dishes and each one was a delight. The potato soup was hearty and perfectly seasoned, the fried potatoes were crispy and full of flavor, and the potato gratin was creamy and simply delicious. We would particularly like to highlight the regional and seasonal offerings, which underline the freshness and quality of the ingredients. It was obvious that a lot of value is placed on the origin of the products. The price-performance ratio is also excellent. The portions are generous and the quality of the food justifies every penny. All in all, our visit to the potato house was a completely successful experience. We can highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates excellent food and a pleasant atmosphere. We will definitely come back!

Our visit to the potato house was simply fantastic! We ate there with our two children and were warmly welcomed. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, perfect for families. The food was excellent - the potato dishes are a real treat and the selection is varied so there is something for everyone. We were particularly impressed with the pan-fried dishes and the potato casserole! The service was extremely friendly and attentive, and the children were treated very nicely. We felt completely comfortable and in good hands. Many thanks to the entire team at the potato house for the wonderful food and the great evening. We will be back definitely!

We stopped by spontaneously and got a place. Unfortunately there was convenience food, i.e. industrial goods (you could clearly tell from the potato soup and the sauce from the devil's schnitzel) We were full, but it wasn't a culinary experience. Paid €55 (for two, including drinks), too much for ready-made food.

Hatten Puffer bestellt. Der Puffer kam dann auch. Mein Kollege hat unverzüglich reagiert und den Puffer bemängelt, da er verbrannt gewesen ist. Daraufhin ging die Bedienung, murmelte noch etwas und kam nie wieder. Wir haben erwartet, dass wir ein neues Essen bekommen, aber es geschah nichts! Wir wurden einfach sitzengelassen. Nach 20 Minuten bezahlen wir und verließen das Restaurant. Für mich war es das übelste Erlebnis, was ich jemals hatte. Niemals wieder!

Visited again on February 24. The restaurant is nice and cozy, but sometimes very cramped. The service takes you straight away, is very friendly and is easy to understand despite the foreign accent, which is not the case everywhere. Waiting time for the food is relatively short. DRINKS: Here 1 star is deducted from the overall rating. REASON: many drinks are offered in different sizes. The operator doesn't ask which size you want, but simply brings you the largest and therefore most expensive version. FOOD: Schnitzel was tender, breading good, overall not very seasoned. This also applied to mushrooms and sauce. Fried potatoes taste good, but the consistency is flabby. Casserole with spinach. Served hot. Spinach very good. Seasoning a bit weak but overall good. Food prices are below price/performance, still acceptable, drinks are overpriced as with most... Returned on June 24th. Warm day, so the large glass doors to the terrace were open, creating a spacious impression. In summary, our group of four can say: very friendly, very tasty, very expensive. The latter divided into food: upper third of the price. Drinks: overpriced. Overall we were able to go from 3 to 4 stars. With adequate prices it would be 5 stars.

Did you know that all the restaurants that the shop owner of THIS restaurant knows no longer let children in at night? He doesn't seem to know much about being a restaurateur. Children are not allowed to run around in this restaurant. In the Bräustübl, where we sat yesterday, the waiters thought our little sparrow was very cute and smiled when he crossed their path :-) Absolutely recommended (i.e. the Bräustübl, not this juice shop). My wife and I sat on the terrace with our 1 1/2 year old son to eat in the pouring rain. By the way, there are over 20 witnesses - there was a big family gathering in Bad Harzburg. In his opinion, parents are probably no longer allowed to go out in the evenings. Because it is very unrealistic to think that small children will sit well at the table instead of wanting to move. How stupid. I hope his parents never had dinner with him in the evening. Although - they were probably received lovingly. Not like parents in the potato house. PS: I can't say much about the food, because mine didn't come. No wonder - neither the shop owner nor the waiters were in any way interested in their guests sitting outside in the rain. And my wife's Wiener Schnitzel unfortunately tasted like cardboard.

Extremely unfriendly to families with small children, the child is not allowed to crawl “for safety reasons” and “no one in Bad Harzburg would serve a child of this age at this time (8:30 p.m.)”. When asked about this, it was claimed that there was a risk that the child would be injured and then become disabled, etc. Absurd and underground.

The best thing was the fried potatoes, otherwise too expensive

Because of the numerous positive reports here, I tried it out yesterday. It just took a little longer (but was already announced by the friendly staff upon arrival) but when things are freshened up, it takes a little longer. When the food came, the fried potatoes were really tasty, as was the gratin, but the Holstein-style schnitzel was, unfortunately I have to write, dry. You could eat it - but it missed the point by a long shot. The breading was delicious - I think it was handmade breading, but it certainly didn't taste industrial at all. I would describe the price-performance ratio as normal. What pleased me most was the friendliness of the staff - unfortunately you don't find that very often these days. Addendum: May 22, 2024, I visited the restaurant again and everything was as described, so there is no reason to change the rating.

I've never had so little to eat for a lot of money. I think I got 20 grams of meat and a little sauce and fried potatoes, but they were okay.

Very good food, we ate schnitzel... Hawaiian schnitzel, Jägerschnitzel, paprika schnitzel and Viennese style schnitzel, everyone liked it very much and there was plenty of it. The service was very attentive and friendly. We will be back.

Ich hatte die Speicherpfanne für soviel Geld so wenig bekommen 🤌 geht garnicht. Ich würde sagen ich hatte 40 Gramm Fleisch wenn überhaupt.

Very Cosy German restaurant. Prices are a bit high but the food is good. The service was great, not too much time passed before we ordered and the food came out in a timely fashion. We also didn’t have to flag anyone down to pay so that was nice. No complaints really, I would visit again.

Wir haben am 2. Weihnachtstag 2023 dort super lecker gegessen! 😋. Die Weihnachtsspeisekarte war sehr vielfältig, für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei. Die Bedienung war sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Das Essen kam schnell, heiß und frisch an den Tisch und die Portionen waren auch üppig. Alles in allem ein superangenehmes Restaurant mit urigem Ambiente, netten Mitarbeitern und super leckerem Essen. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder 😀.

Haben für den 1. Weihnachtsfeiertag und den ersten Urlaubstag ein kleines Lokal gesucht. Natürlich vorher reserviert und wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Das essen war super lecker und hat gut gesättig (Schnitzel Jägerart mit Bratkartoffeln & Kartoffelrösti mit Gemüse) Wir kommen bestimmt nochmal wieder ;).

Sehr gutes Essen. Wir hatten verschiedene Gerichte, die alle sehr gut schmeckten. Die Schnitzel und die Bratkartoffeln als Beilage sind zu empfehlen.

Ik was hier op een maandag en het was erg rustig maar aangename sfeer. Erg lekkere schnitzel gegeten. Correct en snel bediend.

Nettes Lokal mit uriger Einrichtung und sehr nettem Service. Ein bisschen weniger Fertigware (zb. Kartoffelpuffer) würden dem Erlebnis gut tun.

Wir waren bereits zwei Mal in Bad Harzburg und davon vier Mal hier essen. Es sind reichliche Portionen und sehr lecker. Immer wieder einen Besuch wert 😊

Kleines aber sehr gemütliches Restaurant. Essen ist vorzüglich. Hier wird noch richtig mit Liebe gekocht. Hatten Schnitzel Hawai und Hirsch. Absolut mega. Die Bedienung war auch sehr nett. Freuen uns schon auf das nächste mal. Vielen Dank dafür. Grüße R&R

Urige Lokale Kneipe/Restaurant. Es gibt Deutsche Küche aber nur eine kleine Karte. Bier war lecker 👍 Waren gegen kurz vor 9 da, da wir spät angereist sind haben uns gefreut dass die Küche noch offen war👍 Das Ambiente würde ich als "Altbacken/Urig" aber auf eine gemütliche Art und Weise beschreiben. Habe ein Jägerschnitzel mit Bratkartoffeln bestellt. Das Schnitzel war gut aber nicht überragend. Die Bratkartoffeln ohne Biss und teilweise lauwarm. (Vielleicht weil wir so spät waren). Jägersoße mit frischen Pilzen war lecker👍 Insgesamt war ich zufrieden nur von der Beilage etwas enttäuscht. Für ein solides Essen und ein paar Bier aufjedenfall geeignet.

Tolles uriges Restaurant, sehr freundliche Bedienung und sehr gute Schnitzel wir werden wieder kommen.

Wir waren während unseres Urlaubs in Bad Harzburg im Kartoffelhaus essen. Wichtig: vorher reservieren, sonst bekommt man ggf. keinen Platz. Mit dem Essen waren wir sehr zufrieden. Es ist eine rustikale deutsche Küche, aber für diese ist sie gut! Das Essen schmeckt frisch und lecker. Der Service war zuvorkommend, freundlich und aufmerksam. Warum keine 5 Sterne? Weil wir zu lange (fast 50 Minuten) auf unser Essen warten mussten :(.

Leckeres Essen super Service gut besucht. Evtl mit Tischreservierung besuchen da es sonst wohl zu Engpässen kommen kann.

Das Essen ist echt bombastisch und der Service ist echt gut. Auch das Ambiente ist sehr schön anzusehen. Der Alte Speicher ist wirklich zu empfehlen. PS: Die Kartoffelpuver zum Nachtisch sind ein muss.

Im Internet sind wir auf dieses gemütliche Restaurant gestoßen. Das haben wir dann auch gleich ausprobiert. Das Restaurant ist sehr gemütlich eingerichtet, der Service war sehr gut, und das Essen war super lecker. Der Besuch war so positiv das wir den Tisch für einen zweiten Abend wieder reserviert haben. Fazit: sehr zu empfehlen...... So, auch der zweite Abend war super. Eine sehr nette Bedienung, und das Essen war wieder seeeehr gut.

Leider waren die Wartezeiten auf Getränke und Essen ziemlich lang. Das Essen war durchschnittlich. Wenig gewürzt und wirkte nicht frisch. Für das was man fort erhält, ist der Preis zu hoch!

Sehr freundlicher Empfang mit ausgezeichnetem Service. Das reichhaltige Essen haben wir in gemütlicher Atmosphäre genossen. Es war wirklich super lecker, alles in allem sehr empfehlenswert.

Sehr gemütlich auf der Terrasse, Service sehr nett und das Essen sehr sehr lecker. Wir kommen wieder.

Хотела поесть в соседнем ресторане, который оказался полным, и зашла сюда. К счастью, были свободные столики. Я не пожалела. Еда была очень вкусная, оригинально оформлена, персонал дружелюбный, цены приемлимые. Если буду в Бад Харцбурге, обязательно зайду ещё!

Waren heute hier zum Abend essen. Die Terrasse lud zum gemütlichen Verweilen ein. Der Kellner war freundlich. Das Essen war sehr lecker und ansprechend hergerichtet. Ein kleiner Punkt Abzug wegen der etwas längeren Wartezeit und eine Portionstüte Ketchup bzw. Mayo für 1 Euro ist schon sehr preisintensiv. Wir würden wieder dort essen gehen und können es empfehlen.

Hier sollte man einen Tisch reservieren, wenn man ins Lokal möchte. Wir hatten Glück, auf der Terrasse gab es noch einen freien Tisch. Essen und Service war hervorragend. Leider ist unser Kurzurlaub vorbei, sonst wären wir hier noch mal essen gegangen.

Das Essen ist heiß und lecker, die Portionen vernünftig, die Preise angemessen. Das Personal war immer aufmerksam und nett. Wir waren sehr zufrieden.

Lange auf das Essen gewartet, sehr teuer . Wird ausdrücklich nicht empfohlen und uns auch nicht wieder sehen. Tee für 4.20 sagt eigentlich alles
