Even if the food here had been bad, we would still have loved it! :) Such a wonderful, bustling, and communicative atmosphere. The waiters zip around, you're constantly being served ouzo without ordering (or paying), jokes are being exchanged, and Greek is spoken everywhere. It hasn't felt so welcome in a new place in a long time. But the food was also incredibly delicious: we had lemon chicken, beautifully grilled on the outside and yet juicy on the inside, two lovely pieces. It came with tzatziki. Side dishes are ordered separately; we had salad and vegetables. The second main course was gyros. To drink, we had the vermouth aperitif, a beer, and house wine. The yogurt dessert with honey and walnuts was a gift, without asking. We certainly won't be returning here for the last time. The prices were also very reasonable!!!

A lovely visit to the beer garden. Quietly located yet centrally located in Munich. Very friendly and prompt service. Delicious food, beautifully presented. Despite the large number of guests, the service was consistently friendly. We got two oz on the house and a delicious dessert! We'll definitely be back ☀️

It was very loud inside, we actually wanted a table for 6 outside. Apparently you couldn't put it together. The food was good but even better a few months ago. Has subsided. We then waited almost 30 minutes to be able to pay.

Authentically Greek and warm! The Taverna Kalypso delights with fresh ingredients, aromatic dishes and a family atmosphere. Particularly recommended: the meze platters and the grilled octopus – simply delicious!

The Kolokíthákia keftédes were very good, as were the biftéki. My wife thought that the Mousaká might have a little less bechamel/egg topping and more eggplant and meat. But that's a matter of taste. Otherwise everything is pallet.

I found it a bit too loud and too hot inside, but the food (gyros and salad) tasted good and everything else was okay. Drinks unfortunately 0.2 - sorry but that's not possible given the prices. The menu even says that there are large drinks at a more acceptable price, but the waiter said there are only small drinks.

Everything Amazing, extremely friendly staff and the service incredible. They move very fast, everything was freshly cooked and we even got dessert on the house.

Loved the food, loved the place, loved everything! Kalypso is very lively and expect it to be always full. However, they were able to accommodate us after only 5 minutes, probably thanks to such a fast and well organised service. The food was really delicious and the price was more than fair. I personally really liked it, but I want to mention it can get a bit chaotic and the service at the end felt rushed. We had a lovely night, thanks a lot 🙏🏼

Actually, the taste of the Kalypso deserves 4 stars, if not 5. But the dish with the grilled octopus was really just not enough for the price. But the starters are recommended. Points are deducted for the stress you have in the evening when you are (kindly) thrown out after two hours. These short time slots are a shame, you have to hurry with everything so that you can only manage two courses at most. Unfortunately it won't be a comfortable evening, but you ate well and quickly.

Really good! We would be taken through the entire culinary world of Greece. A little bit of everything in small bowls to try until every millimeter of the table was filled. Really great! If you want the grill plate, you can of course get that too. P S. Reservation strongly recommended.

Great Greek restaurant with a really nice ambience that creates a holiday feeling. The food is delicious, the portions are large and the value for money is definitely right. The gyros are particularly good and have never disappointed us because they don't have a high fat content but are still juicy and crispy. The staff provides everyone with enough ouzo on the house and the last few times there has always been a free yoghurt dessert. It is advisable to make a reservation; larger groups can also arrange a menu in advance.

One of the best Greek restaurants I've been to in Munich (and there have been many). Food was particularly delicious, staff was really nice and accomodating (was there with two kids and they were so nice with them as well). Atmosphere was lively and cozy. Overall a great experience!

We went to this restaurant for dinner between 18-20 hours and were pleased with its ambiance, the taste of its food and Alexandra's friendly service. We especially liked the shrimp crab with tomato sauce and the crispy zucchini and eggplant appetizers. The only problem was the Chicken was a little salty. Thank you for the sweet yoghurt served at the end of the meal.

I love Kalypso :-) The food was, as always, delicious and authentic. On a Saturday evening it can be quite crowded and loud. The friendly service is great. I keep coming back.

Despite being a weekday, the place was very crowded. Making a reservation in advance is a must. The ambiance was great, and the portions were large. We ordered sole fish and a mixed meze platter—both were delicious. The staff was friendly and welcoming. However, the tables were very close to each other. We were two people sitting next to a group of six, with only about 10-15 cm of space between tables. It felt like we were sharing the same table. I’d recommend they reconsider the seating arrangement for a more comfortable dining experience.

No chance without a reservation. Been here several times with friends. Food perfect every time. The free ouzo and dessert are also included. Attentive but unobtrusive service. Well attended almost every day, but a bit noisy. Mixed audience, mostly younger. A great Greek.

I was actually a fan of Kalypso and was very happy that a friend of mine was celebrating her birthday there. Unfortunately, our waiter was super unfriendly and they actually ignored us. We all had to pay a minimum of €42 for the menu and received such a disappointing return. The waiter really didn't care about us at all, which we really felt. What a shame!

We ordered food to pick up and absolutely loved it! We weren't successful on our first call, but the restaurant called back straight away - really great service! I am absolutely speechless about the fantastic food! No matter whether it was a starter, main course or dessert – everything was simply perfect. I'm usually pretty picky when it comes to food, but everything was just right here. The meat was incredibly juicy and superbly seasoned, and the tzatziki was by far the best I've ever tasted. Every single bite was a delight! I can only warmly recommend this restaurant. And I swear I'm not exaggerating

Atmosphere and service are great. The waiter was fantastic. The food although was disappointing. I had a mixed plate which different meat (gyros, bifteky and Skewers). The meat was very blend and not well grilled. The gyros tasted like pen fried gyros - very disappointing. The chips on the side were ok but also blend. If I pay good money I expect good food. As this is not the case here I won’t be back.

Typically Greek and yet a little different. In particular, the starters and the dishes from the daily menu were very, very tasty. The service is very professional and very friendly. The restaurant is correspondingly well attended.

Nice ambience. It was Valentine's Day and the store was full. We were still able to reserve for one more person at short notice. The food was, as always, really tasty. The service is simply perfect. Thank you.

I would recommend everyone to reserve in advance. People were already lining up in front of the store just before 6 p.m., but they were seated at the tables promptly at 6 p.m. A reservation is for 2 hours, the service staff pays attention to this and ensures that the food and drinks are served very quickly. Despite the high number of customers, the staff was very friendly, attentive and quick. The food was beautifully prepared, hot and completely sufficient. Leftovers are packed well. During our stay we received a free round of ouzo and yoghurt with walnuts and honey on the house. I can recommend the Fawa starter, something different and not available at every Greek restaurant.

We just wanted to spend a relaxing evening at a Greek restaurant with friends and have a nice meal. Unfortunately it was so loud that our throats now hurt from screaming since we can't have a conversation at a normal volume. What bothered us the most was how huge amounts of napkins were thrown around at the end. Aside from the fact that this is a completely stupid environmental sin, we couldn't eat our dessert because there were napkins stuck everywhere. It's a shame that you can't seem to eat here in a pleasant atmosphere anymore. We wouldn't come back even though the food was good.

This is a very nice tavern. It's a typical Greek party and a lot of fun! There is no shortage of ouzo here. The food is extremely delicious!! Albeit not cheap. However, you have to keep in mind that it is really crowded and loud. You can't have conversations at a normal volume, you have to shout at each other. Reserved tables are often not available on time and you have to wait in the aisle for up to 45 minutes. Of course the waiters apologize and offer you free ouzo several times. However, better organization regarding the reserved tables would be more desirable than solving this by trying to get the guests to drink under the table. Overall, I had a bad evening here and even though the food was delicious, the circumstances weren't there to really enjoy the food. Conclusion: Party yes Nice food no

We went to Taverna Kalypso on a Friday evening with a group of 6 to celebrate a friend's birthday. The restaurant was really full. So FULL. Not a single table was empty. The atmosphere and ambience was really incredible, everyone was chatting and eating and it was really pleasant! The service was nice and the food was really tasty. I will definitely come back :)

For us the best Greek in Munich! The atmosphere and ambience are excellent, the food is simply top. The service also leaves nothing to be desired. It wasn't our first visit and definitely won't be the last either. Absolute recommendation!

Fantastic menu, especially the starters were a poem. We chose menu 1, where a variety of variations were served. Price/performance is great! I'm generally not a big fan of Greek cuisine, but I was actually very positively surprised here. Praise to the kitchen and the excellent service!

This is what a great restaurant experience looks like. Delicious food, great service and a good atmosphere. Here we had the best Moussaka we have ever tried. Our waiter was very friendly and spoke several languages. And to top it all, they gave everyone in the restaurant free shots and dessert. Simply amazing.

We've had our X-mas company dinner for the 4th year in a row at Kalypsos and are very happy. Excellent food, nice athmosphere and for most parts good service. As people and perceptions vary, some servers could have been more attentive and open.
