We were there today. It was great: food, reception, ambience, guests, service. From starters to dessert - can't complain! Recommended!

The four of us were at Elia yesterday. Our waiter was the best. He was always there without being intrusive. His wine recommendation was also great. Everyone enjoyed the food and the portions were large enough. Only the music was a bit too loud, so like almost everywhere in Munich you had to talk very loudly. We'd love to come back.

From the time we arrived until we left the restaurant, the service was very attentive. The food is delicious and you can taste the good quality of the ingredients. Nice ambience and nice location. We will definitely go back soon.

Even though it was a Saturday evening and we didn't make a reservation, we were warmly welcomed and found a nice seat. The food was very fresh and tasty and well seasoned. We had baby calamari with salad and beetroot and two types of chicken with mustard sauce and potatoes. The portion size was right for us, we weren't that hungry either, if you're really hungry the portions might be a little too small. The service was friendly and attentive. Everyone in the family helped out so that the food was served at the same time. The espresso tasted good and there was also ouzo on the house. Another positive thing I noticed was that there were fresh flowers on the tables and in the toilet. The atmosphere in the evening was pleasant, all in all a nice evening. Thank you, Elijah.

Best gyros, super nice staff, we'll definitely be back!!

A pesar de la reserva previa de una mesa días antes no había mesa libre cuando llegamos allí a tiempo y tuvimos que esperar bastante tiempo hasta que uno se liberó. Entonces resultó que una de las comidas seleccionadas del menú no estaba disponible, pero alrededor de 20 minutos DESPUÉS de nuestro pedido. Después de volver a decidir sobre un plato, esperando de nuevo la comida. Cuando llegó, gran decepción. Las verduras estaban remojadas en aceite, el giroscopio no era bueno, cada vendedor ambulante habría tenido mejor calidad a un precio mucho más barato. Los precios de todo son bastante altos y no se pueden justificar por la calidad. Como excusa para todo el tiempo de espera que pasamos al menos habríamos esperado un ouzo en la casa como "excusa", pero nada.

Based on the answer, as far as I can calculate it wasn't €50 per person but around €72 There was no wine or dessert because we brought our own birthday cake. and we were in a group of 19 people, including 4 children and 3 seniors, who perhaps finished half a portion. Show me the 12 people who can eat 20 portions of meat after having a large starter. You can't make decisions over your heads just to improve your sales. It's quite simple, even if I come to the restaurant and drink a coffee all evening, they don't have the right to decide about my wallet and type as they see fit. It's simply a rip-off and it's not possible to take the guests for a fool and not keep their agreements. I would also thank you if I were €400 plus. It's a shame but I will never enter your restaurant again! DANGER!!!! For anyone planning a larger reservation, please read through!!! I discussed a clear menu with the waiter and he changed everything without my knowledge and ended up charging me a good 400 euros more. When I asked him about it, he just told me it was a Saturday evening and he had calculated about 50 euros per person, we were 15 adults and 3 children and after a rich starter as discussed (which was also discussed) we agreed that he would Brings 6-8 grill plates. My family and friends will never enter this store again even though it was actually a very nice evening. But what he did is very borderline and you could sometimes call it fraud. SO BE CAREFUL WITH LARGER GROUPS, ESPECIALLY RIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS!!!

It was mediocre - as is unfortunately the case with so many restaurants these days. Unfortunately, price/performance isn't really good. I find almost €18 for a not very good, dry gyro with a bit of tzatziki and a few fries rather outrageous. The cold starter plate for €17 only consisted of some mashed things and sauces - but without bread. Tastes good, but actually not edible without a spoon. Service was mediocre. Not unfriendly, but not really attentive either. But too bad for the price range.

Centrally located Greek 🇬🇷restaurant, with a reasonable selection of delicious dishes. Nice and attentive waiter. ✌️ Portions could be a little larger. Overall, a great address in Munich for fine dining 🍽

Food is ok, but really crazy for the prices. The ambience outside is nice. Inside, boring, loveless and sterile. But the unfriendliness, incompetence and irritability of the staff make the most of it. Better to go to one of the good other Greeks in the surrounding area than come here again

Best Greek food that I have ever had. We shared a Saganaki starter. We had a Duet of Scampi & Salmon main. Also a Moussaka main. Portions are adequate not huge. See pics of receipt & menu for pricing. Pricing was fair considering the high quality. We will most certainly return & I will most certainly order the Duet again. The only negative was that we were sitting ignored for 20 mins, as we watched people that arrived after us getting drinks & food. We finally flagged down a waiter to ask if he could take our order. Service was perfect after that. I would say that you should book ahead.

Food acceptable but not a highlight, fish duet only one shrimp. Gerolsteiner water for over 7 euros comes open at the table and based on the taste, I wouldn't swear that it's not tap water!!!

Food was good, but not a highlight that could justify this price-performance ratio. Small beetroot salad for >EUR 8.50 (really now!?) Very friendly service and nice ambience. I would give it a 3.8.

The food is very tasty, fresh and authentic! In summer you can sit outside wonderfully between olive trees and enjoy the last rays of sunshine. The team is also very nice! I like to come back every time!

Obviously new menu, gyros over 17 euros. 3 people eat moderately, drink moderately, well over 100 euros. Long waiting time, almost 1 hour for 2 x starters. Service is no longer as friendly and accommodating as I actually know it to be. Only after a big tip, friendlier. No longer recommended, such a shame.

Greek feeling under the olive trees: when it's summer in Germany and you can still sit outside at 20 degrees and the kitchen is also working to produce delicious food, the waiters are quick and friendly - what more could you want (sea?? ? Well, not in Munich, but you can feel it). Thank you for the wonderful evening!

Spectacular food and careful attention

Angefangen von der netten Chefin die dieses Restaurant seit Jahren super leitet,möchte ich auch dem restlichen Team ein Lob ausprechen Super und authentische griechische Küche, die in den letzten Jahren immer gleich bleibend war und wir bisher noch nie enttäuscht wurden Der Laden bietet im Sommer ein großen Außenbereich, wo man sehr gemütlich in einer ruhigen Verkehrszone essen kann Service schnell und aufmerksam. Preise für München total in Ordnung.

Fast service, delicious food but a bit noisy.

As we sat in our corner seat, wine glasses were set up behind us during the meal. This means that one person in our group who was sitting on the bench constantly had a waiter behind him who was setting up individual glasses on the shelf of the bench back. We are talking about 5 cm distance here. The person was then no longer able to lean on the bench, otherwise the glasses would have fallen over. In addition to being impudent, this also poses a risk of injury. After we had finished eating, we immediately cleared away and asked if we wanted to order anything else or if we would finally like the bill. At this point we had been there for about 45 to 60 minutes and had a starter and a main course each. But with a small baby. Maybe the baby was the problem.

I visited on a Monday night. I went with a local friend and he ordered two meat dishes, although I don't know exactly what was on the menu, and both the skewers and other meat dishes were delicious. The salad and French fries that came with it were also delicious. I think it's a good restaurant for dinner because the prices aren't too expensive.

We visit the restaurant regularly, the occupancy is usually high, we recommend a reservation, especially if there are more than 2 people. In the summer it's nice to sit outside on the side street. The price level is typically high for the location. The quality of the service and, above all, the food is appropriate. What's positive is the nice selection of truly typical Greek dishes in addition to gyros and the like. My personal favorite there is "Stifado", and the grilled octopus and grilled vegetables are also highly recommended.

Modern furnishings, but in terms of taste nothing that reached us or would have reached us on a second visit. The mixed warm/cold starter platter for just under €30 was unfortunately unconvincing in terms of taste apart from the buffer and the price was exorbitant. I like to spend money on food and I don't look at the price, but it should also taste good and have a typical local taste, which unfortunately the four of us didn't experience throughout the evening.

Service and food were of the usual quality except for a chicken skewer that was a bit firm and dry. The assigned table was too narrow for 5 people, so enjoyment of the meal was very limited.

Went there for dinner on a holiday evening. Ambiance appropriate for neighborhood. Long waiting time (three quarters of an hour) after ordering food, even though the restaurant wasn't full. Friendly service. Souvlaki was well seasoned, but the meat was unfortunately stringy/flaxy. Salad fresh and crunchy. The filling side dish (potato) was too little. The brand of ouzo served was not mine, or not for good friends.

Eine Bereicherung für die Umgebung!

Wir waren schon oft da und nun zum zweiten Mal enttäuscht. Das Essen war leider nicht gut. Das Gyros trocken und kalt. Tsatsiki geschmacklos, Pommes matschig und ungesalzen. Schade, wir kamen früher immer sehr gerne hierher.

Super griechisches Essen in netter Arthmosphere. Große Auswahl an Speisen.

Diesen Ort mag ich gerne Früher auch zu mittags Zeiten geöffnet bin ich hier desöfteren hingegangen.Nun nach langer Zeit wieder mal abends dort.Schön gefüllt gute Atmosphäre und freundlich schneller Service. Das Essen nach wie vor sehr anständig und vor allem Preis Leistung stimmt ! Sehr nette Chefin ;-)

Very good and authentic Greek food. We had a great time during a company function there and had amazing service throughout the whole night.

Sehr leckeres Essen nur beim Bier wäre noch Verbesserungspotential, ein griechisches Bier als Option anstatt Becks und lieber Augustiner anstatt Löwenbräu. Aber das ist Geschmackssache :)

Sehr freundlich und super Service

Nach den vielen hervorragenden Rezensionen, u.a. auch in diversen "besten Griechen" Artikeln, kam ich wohl mit zu hohen Erwartungen ins Lokal. Das Essen war okay, die Menüauswahl recht unflexibel (z.B. Bauernsalat statt normaler nicht möglich, wenn nur extra), die Portionen eher klein, die Preise dafür sehr gehoben. Die ersten Pommes kamen kalt und den gratis Ouzo schien auch nicht jeder zu bekommen. Die Stimmung im Lokal war allerdings sehr gut und man spürte die familiäre Atmosphäre der Besatzung. Alles in allem gibt es dennoch viel Luft nach oben und deutlich bessere Optionen, v.a. in München. Schade...

Es gibt keine griechische Atmosphäre.Das Essen ist nicht schlecht, aber auch nichts Besonderes. Zum Schluss gab es Ouzo aufs Haus :)))

Sehr gutes Essen, was sich vom Standardessen in vielen griechischen Lokalen positiv abhebt. Es ist ein Familienbetrieb, der Service ist sehr gut, wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Viele Stammgäste.

Waren zu einer Geburtstagsfeier dort eingeladen. Sehr freundliches Personal, super Service. Das Essen hat den meisten sehr gut geschmeckt - Ausnahmen gibt es immer🤷 Vorspeisenplatte finde ich persönlich beim Griechen hier besser, aber auch das ist Geschmackssache. Das man in München Schwabing etwas mehr bezahlen muss, sollte einen auch klar sein. Ergo alles soweit super....aber nicht perfekt.😉👍

Durchschnittliches griechisches Restaurant in Schwabing. Das Gyros war leider sehr trocken, der Tzatziki hatte viel Dill. Die Peperoni auf den Tellern hatten leider schon einen leichten Stich. Der Service ist aufmerksam und freundlich und der Schanigarten riesig.

Nach längerer Zeit waren wir einmal wieder im Elia - und wurden enttäuscht. Das Essen hat sich nicht wesentlich verändert, wohl aber der Service sowie das Ambiente. Wenig höflich bis arrogant - die Mannschaft im Elia wirkt satt nach vielen erfolgreichen Jahren! Wie gut, dass man in München lebt: hier gibt es Lokale über Lokale - endlich Zeit, auch neuen Restaurants eine Chance zu geben. Vielleicht besinnt man sich im Elia ja später noch einmal auf die langjährigen Gäste - hoffentlich ist es dann nicht zu spät.

Das Restaurant ist uns schon seit Jahren bekannt und wir hatten es eigentlich positiv in Erinnerung behalten. Dieses Mal musste wir allerdings feststellen, dass der Service schlecht war, der Kellner war ruppig und offenbar heillos überfordert, der Wein kam vor dem Aperitiv, unser freundlicher Hinweis, dass wir noch auf unser bestelltes Brot warten, wurde mit dem Verweis auf den Kollegen beantwortet, die die ihm zugeschusterte Bestellung aber offenbar vergessen hatte. Das kann passieren, ist auch nicht mein Hauptkritikpunkt, aber eben ein Zeichen einer Entwicklung weg vom netten Griechen zum lieblosen Massenrestaurant. Der mit stolzen 27 EUR bezifferte Vorspeisenteller (mit "kalten und warmen Vorspeisen für 2 Personen") entpuppte sich als völlig überteuerte Enttäuschung. Obwohl für 2 Personen ausgelobt und bepreist, enthielt die Platte von den meisten Happen nur 1 Portion (außer Zucchinischeiben, davon waren 4 da): also 1 Austernpilz, 1 Artischocke, 1 Zucchinibällchen, je 1 winziger Klacks Bohnen, Taramas, Tzaziki, 1 Auberginenscheibe, 1 gefüllte Paprikascheibe - das war's. Kein Brot. Nix warm. Nix Weinblätter oder Ähnliches. Auf unsere Nachfrage, ob man uns vielleicht aus Versehen eine Platte für eine Person gebracht habe, wurde nur empört der Kopf geschüttelt, nein, nein, natürlich sei dies die Platte für 2 gewesen. Kurzum: völlig überteuert, kein Charme, vor lauter Tische voll machen keine Zeit für die Gäste mehr. Schade.
