We went here for dinner as a group of 5 and we were all very happy with our food. A nice variety of vegetarian dishes and non-vegetarian dishes. The owners are very sweet and helpful, the prices are reasonable. Only one thing that could be improved is the tables and their plastic covers. They seems to be hard to clean. Everything else is great, we would like to eat here again!

My experience at Cairo Kitchen in Düsseldorf was thoroughly positive. I went there for Iftar (breaking the fast) and had okra with lamb shank, mombar, stuffed grape leaves, and stuffed cabbage. All the dishes were truly excellent, very authentic, homemade, and tasted fantastic. You can immediately tell that the food is prepared with love and care. To finish, I had tea with basbousa, both of which were perfect: the tea was just right, and the basbousa was nice and moist, not too sweet. I would also like to especially commend the owner of the restaurant; she was very friendly, warm, and attentive, which made the visit even more enjoyable. The atmosphere in the restaurant is cozy and inviting; you immediately feel at ease.

I had the best experience today at their little cozy homey place! The food was delicious and warm. We had Iftar: Makrouna béchamel (very tasty) and Freekeh with Batt. The lady working there is like a mom, very sweet lady who was having Iftar with her family and gave us from the food she cooked for her family to try it. Very sweet! We sure will come back again and try other things. Heba

We came hungry after our workout and stayed not only for the delicious food but especially for the warm hospitality. The owner immediately put together a meal with an appetizer for our group of three, which we then ordered. Based on the owner's recommendation, we were able to try different dishes together and were not disappointed! If you haven't yet experienced Egyptian cuisine, you should definitely try it here. Authentic and absolutely delicious!

This establishment is a family-run snack bar. Drinks are self-service from the refrigerator. No glasses, no wine, beer, or other alcoholic beverages are provided. Either the place doesn't have a liquor license, or they deliberately don't serve alcohol. We tried several dishes. The fried green wheat had an animalistic, mutton-like taste. The other dishes were, in my opinion, okay but not outstanding. The owner and host was very friendly and eager to receive feedback, hence the two stars. However, under these circumstances, no food should be prepared. The only toilet in the place is through the kitchen. Every customer who wants to use the toilet has access to uncovered food. The kitchen is filthy, and cleaning supplies are left next to food. The ventilation in the dining area appears to be broken, as books and decorative items are stored on the countertop. Unfortunately, the essential food hygiene standards required in the food service industry are lacking here.

I have visited Kairo before and always had an impression that I really enjoyed its local food. Once I found this place I instantly bookmarked it and finally got to try it out. We took whatever was recommended by the owner: an aubergine + potato + minced beef dish and a lamb shank stew. Both were delicious! The place is a bit small but very lovely and homy. Will be back!

We stumbled upon Cairo Kitchen quite by chance, having caught a whiff of food outside. It wasn't actually our intended destination, but out of curiosity, we went in to have a look around. I was recommended the lamb shank – with the words that it was the best lamb you could try there. And it truly was: incredibly tender, perfectly seasoned, and simply outstanding in flavor. One of the best lamb dishes I've ever eaten. I'd especially like to commend the owner: incredibly friendly, very approachable, and we had a really good conversation – on a level playing field. The hospitality was exceptional; you immediately feel welcome and almost at home. Overall, it wasn't just good food, but a truly wonderful experience.

The place is incredibly cosy and welcoming with lovely Egyptian theme decorations. We were two families and we came all the way from the Netherlands and UK. The food was absolutely delicious — it truly fed both the heart and the stomach, tasting just like the comforting meals our mums used to cook back home. Our experience was wonderful and the kids loved it too. We ordered a wide variety of dishes, like okra with shank, chicken pasta béchamel, orzo pasta with meat tagine, stuffed mixed vegetables with rice, baked rice with cream and meat, duck with freekeh, moussaka with sausages and for dessert rice pudding and Om Ali. Everything was outstanding.

Unfortunately, the awareness of food hygiene, which is absolutely essential in the restaurant industry, is lacking here.

The welcome was incredibly warm and friendly. The food was truly outstanding, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was simply wonderful – very cozy and pleasant. I would especially like to highlight the béchamel dish: it was one of the most delicious I have ever eaten. A visit that is definitely worthwhile and which I highly recommend.

We ate here today and we were absolutely thrilled. I'd never tried Egyptian food before, so it was a lucky find. But it was incredibly good. We had an appetizer, main course, and dessert. The staff, presumably the owners, were very friendly and gave us some great recommendations. It has a casual, casual atmosphere, which I like, but it's not really for a fancy dining experience.

This small, hidden Egyptian restaurant isn't for fans of meticulously organized, trendy places. It's chaotic, disorganized, and so incredibly small that you're practically crammed together. But anyone who loves this kind of relaxed, vibrant atmosphere will instantly fall in love with this place. Ambiance & Service: Like Mom's Cooking The atmosphere is unbeatable: It feels like you're standing right in Mom's kitchen, where everything is bustling and full of life. The whole family is involved, from the youngest to the oldest, to keep this place running – that's what makes it so incredibly authentic. Visually, it's far removed from any "fancy hype" and feels very natural, but unfortunately, also a bit stuffy. The woman who's cooking is visibly overwhelmed, which is unfortunately quite noticeable. The Culinary Journey: An Experiment with a Happy Ending As someone who enjoys trying all the world's cultures, I was eager to experience the exotic Egyptian dishes. And first off: It was a culinary journey with its ups and downs, but a truly wonderful ending. Appetizers and small plates: Much of it was incredibly delicious, some of it an experiment. The presence of many locals (always a sign of authentic cuisine for me!) suggested fresh preparation, although a few small items unfortunately seemed to have been prepared from a can. Main courses: These took a good hour to arrive, but were excellent in taste. I would describe the cuisine as a kind of fusion of Arabic and Turkish cuisine – an exciting and delicious mix. Value for money: This is the biggest weakness. The dishes are sometimes very small (about the size of your palm) for prices that can easily exceed €21. Unfortunately, the taste and price don't match up. Conclusion: The warmth and friendliness make up for it. The warm, family-run business with its genuine charm completely redeems itself. This unique authenticity and the delicious main courses are why I'm awarding not just 3, but a well-deserved 4 stars. An experience for anyone seeking the imperfect and the genuine!

We were a group of about 15 people and had actually only reserved for a few more. Nevertheless, the owners made every effort to ensure we had a table together – and they did so with such warmth. The food was simply incredible – and I say that as an Egyptian. The macaroni béchamel and the meat were outstanding, and the baba ghanoush was probably the best I've ever eaten. Everything tasted fresh, authentic, and prepared with love. The warm and friendly nature of the hosts made the evening a special experience. It was far more than just a restaurant visit – it was a taste of home. Thank you for the hospitality and the great food – we will definitely be back!

I cannot express how authentically Egyptian this place is. I haven't eaten such delicious Egyptian food outside of Egypt. This is a piece of Egypt found in Germany. As an Egyptian that misses the Egyptian cuisine a lot, that visit definitely won't be my last at your cozy restaurant.
