The coffee house has an incredibly pleasant and cozy atmosphere, and the service is very pleasant. Highly recommended! I'll be back!

We reserved a table for four people for Mother's Day. We arrived at 10:45. The waitress couldn't find a suitable table for us... then the announcement that drinks would take half an hour and food an hour. When we asked why, she said we were very busy today. You can't know in advance on Mother's Day, and the weather forecast isn't always that accurate, so you could adjust the staffing. If so many staff aren't available right now, you simply can't accommodate so many guests. Unfortunately, it was very disappointing for that day! The coffee shop is actually good, and perhaps this review will help improve the service...!

Unfortunately, the coffee was cold and served on a stained saucer. The cake was tasteless, and the iced coffee was missing vanilla ice cream. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this café.

Tzyv On Mother's Day, we decided to visit this restaurant for the second time. The table was reserved for 2:00 p.m., a girl immediately came over, and we were able to order drinks... but also all the dishes we wanted to try! That was it! An hour later, I asked a man who looked like a manager about our food order. After saying he would figure it out now, he disappeared without a trace and was never seen again. After 1:20 minutes, I asked the girl taking the order if we were eating today. And she, too, promised to figure it out... After 1:40 minutes, we went to the bar to pay for our drinks. The girl taking the order dryly told us the amount, took the money, turned around, and left! Draw your own conclusions.

Had to wait 1 hour for the food. Only after we complained did the food come. Unfortunately the food was nothing, I had ordered a schnitzel, the sauce was lumpy, the spaetzle was partly burnt and dry (see photo), only the schnitzel was good. It's not possible to serve something like that. The service was friendly and good but unfortunately the food was not.

I've been eating in coffee houses for decades and I always really enjoy it; 90% of the time I order the Windsor salad. Unfortunately, I discovered today that the quality no longer has anything to do with what you're used to. Somehow the meat didn't taste freshly fried, but had been fried for a long time and wasn't quite hot, and the mushrooms had probably been fried for a long time and then simply tipped over the salad. Unfortunately, expectations were not met. We had to wait over 1 hour for the food, which is far too long for two salads and a tarte flambée. The service was also extremely bad, you had to wait forever until someone finally noticed you, pretty sad, staff are actually running around enough. I ordered a Campari Orange, the waitress had never heard that word before and asked me if it was even on the menu. Of course it was on the menu, like it has been for the last 30 years, but the staff leaves more than to be desired, it's pretty sad, I won't be coming back anytime soon, as it's still very expensive. The quality absolutely does not meet expectations.

We've been here 3 times in the last 2 weeks, the last time the schnitzel was lukewarm, mushroom sauce and spaetzle almost cold but we waited over 30 minutes to eat then it would be served again with a 20 minute delay Dan. Could you eat it? Today we arrived at 6:30 p.m. and had to wait 15 minutes to order drinks and have been waiting for two hamburgers for 45 minutes. We won't come here anymore. We immediately pay for the drinks, which are almost empty. Goodbye coffee house. There are several restaurants that also want to make money. RS

I think it's really tasty here, great place to sit, sometimes it takes a really long time to get your food but what bothers me the most is that you can only pay with the card if you spend more than €25. Really needs to be changed... I don't know anywhere.

I recently had dinner in a coffee house. The reservation was uncomplicated and the staff was very friendly and responded to my individual wishes. The ambience was very nice and is right on the castle square, so after the good meal you have the opportunity to take a walk in the castle garden. The kitchen of the coffee house more than met my expectations, hence the 5 full stars 🤩

The coffee house was moderately busy, a schnitzel was ordered after 50 minutes and it still wasn't served. Other guests arrived 20 minutes later and had already eaten, got up and left. Unfortunately, the service is getting worse and worse. When you think back to earlier times you feel nostalgic.

The coffee house was once the first address on Schloßplatz. Always good quality for decades, solid as a rock. If you could order blindly, it was good. Ambience is also (still) great. There were a few problems with the service from time to time, but we always accepted that because of the advantages mentioned above. But since the change of tenant last year and very rapidly in the last 3 months, the quality of the food has deteriorated to such an extent that we are no longer willing to wait an hour for it or pay the prices quoted. Actually, the disappointments of the last few weeks have made us say bye-bye internally and turn our backs on the coffee house as a “restaurant”. We'll probably enjoy a cold drink or two on the terrace on the really beautiful castle square every now and then in the summer, but we won't be eating here anymore. It's really a shame to let such a long tradition go to the dogs. :-(

The food is comparatively cheap. Service just like that. Toilets as always an imposition.

I can't recommend it. We waited almost an hour for the order. The Eggs Benedict was served with two hard-boiled eggs. At least it was taken back and replaced without any problems, but the second attempt wasn't much better. There was also no spoon brought along with the included muesli. Price-performance ratio is not right here at all.

Unfortunately our reservation somehow got lost. Nevertheless, you were able to offer us a table inside. Since we were the only guests inside, it was loud and the service wasn't quite as attentive as usual. We had the impression that the music kept getting louder because they forgot that we were sitting inside. The food was very good.

We placed the orders for 3 people at 7:15 p.m. When asked, at 8:15 p.m. an employee said that the food would be coming soon, according to the kitchen. At 8:30 p.m., when we asked, we were told that the food would be at our table in 5 minutes. At 8:45 p.m. we told the employee that we would pay for the drinks and cancel the meal. Afterwards we left the restaurant. The kitchen staff should be able to estimate whether the preparation will take another 5 minutes or more than 1/2 hour.

So the service could be better, And you could count the change correctly before giving it to the customer.

The food was quite good, but the prices were a bit high, which is certainly due to the beautiful outside ambience. Service was OK. Luckily we didn't have to wait particularly long.

Everything has already been said about the service, and everyone who lives in Schwetzingen or the surrounding area knows that. For sitting in the sun you have to accept the miserable service. But today was the last time.

We think it's good for drinking coffee and snacking on cake. The service is usually overloaded. The atmosphere outside is nice. It's loud inside.

Great outdoor area, here you can really enjoy the first rays of sunshine. Delicious drinks and large, very tasty salads. We were a little disappointed with the asparagus dishes for the price, the dishes from the regular menu were great! The cakes at the next table also looked really good.

April 14, 2025: My family and I went in and stood in front of the waiting sign. There's not much going on inside and almost all the tables are free. Two waitresses are talking 4 meters in front of us. The one with her back to us turns around, looks at us, turns away again and continues talking to her colleague. After 2-3 minutes we went out and looked for another restaurant.

I’ve been visiting The Kaffeehaus Schwetzingen for years, but my most recent experience was incredibly disappointing. The service was brutal—slow, rude, and lacking even the most basic manners. It was clear that management had no interest in addressing the issues or improving the customer experience. To make matters worse, there was no Wi-Fi available, which only added to the frustration. Based on this visit, I would never consider tipping. It’s a shame to see a place I once enjoyed decline so badly.

Everything could be quite good... if it didn't always take such an incredibly long time. Then you lose interest. One time I even left before the food was even there because I ran out of time. I waited over an hour. Were there again today and waited another hour. And that for a sausage, cheese platter and two eggs on bread, which were also overcooked. If you want to enjoy the atmosphere, sit outside, or come over for an evening of drinks, it's okay. You don't necessarily get the feeling that you are being understood or that there is any attempt to hurry up 🥲 Nobody was unfriendly, but unfortunately nothing more. But it could also have been due to stress

The food and location are great, the service is the biggest drawback, the service employees are like air. You report several times and give a hint and are simply not heard or noticed... Otherwise 5 out of 5

Last week I went to the coffee house for a small breakfast for a long time and received excellent advice and service from Ashkan!! It's a pleasure to come back....we really have to increase the frequency :-)

Breakfast very sad. See the picture, I think speaks for itself. Sylter breakfast was ridiculous and overpriced.

Food great as always, service staff very friendly. But at some point it got very loud. Entertainment was hardly possible because everyone tried to drown out the music. We ended up leaving earlier than we originally planned. What a shame! We were there between 6 and 8:30 p.m.

We were at the coffee house on a Monday evening. There was a lot going on, but we got our things very quickly and everything was wonderful. The quality of the food and drinks was good. I had the asparagus in the pancake with ham. The others had salad and Jägerschnitzel. It was delicious. The waitress was great. The coffee house is not a star bar, but you get consistent quality, the price and performance ratio is right, and the ambience both outside and inside you is inviting and cozy. Great place to spend a nice evening with friends.

After a long time we were looking forward to visiting the coffee house again. Unfortunately, service was not a priority during our visit. We arrived at 7pm and stayed until around 10pm. The waitress asked about the order exactly once during this time. To order the food we had to speak to someone, who then sent someone to us. (Staff assigned to the table is perfectly fine) The tarte flambée tasted very tasty and the (one round) cocktails were also very good. We asked for bread at the table. This would be thrown onto the table without saying a word as we walked past. Empty glasses on the table were ignored and no one asked if we would like anything else to drink. You have to say, it wasn't full either. (There was even a waitress who wasn't responsible for us) It was a shame that we had to go through this experience now. We had very good memories of the coffee house and were looking forward to a great evening.

5 stars go to the staff! It's great what the young team is doing. Despite the restaurant being full, everyone was friendly and quick! I would only exclude dogs in these narrow spaces. Too narrow, too dangerous for the guests, unhygienic and allergy sufferers would also be happy about it. There are people who have to pass their animals over the tables.

Nobody communicated with each other. We told us three times that we wanted to pay because we were in a hurry and no one had any idea who was responsible. Card payments are only possible from 25 euros. Absolute rip-off at such a big store! I worked in service myself and I know bad management when I see it. Interior beautiful. Music doesn't fit at all.

Instead of installing a vestibule in the entrance area, they accept the constant draft. The tables for two people are much too small. The atmosphere isn't pleasant. You can tell the owner doesn't put much heart into this place. Fortunately, our server was very friendly and really tried very hard, although a constantly angry-looking woman in the background watched all the servers and repeatedly reprimanded them. We're assuming this was the restaurant manager, who apparently used to work for the army. This kind of treatment of staff is completely unprofessional... For this price, with this kind of atmosphere, it's absolutely excessive. Fortunately, Schwetzingen has much more to offer... The food was good but absolutely overpriced.

An institution in the region's gastronomic landscape for decades! You just sit wonderfully relaxed in the spring sun and enjoy lunch. Our waiter Ashkan especially deserves an honorable mention... friendly and competent!

We went in for lunch. The clock was 1:30 p.m. And we were offered lunch for 9.90 euros. There were six dishes to choose from. It was crowded. We were brought a cola right away. But we waited until 2:55 p.m. for our lunch. And the waiters didn't even apologize. When we asked why it was taking so long. But they said, "Wait. It's not ready yet." I wanted to get up and leave. I had to wait longer. I didn't even want to eat. Although the salad itself and the fries with bacon were delicious. But I don't want to come back here.

Very, very nice location right in front of Schwetzingen Castle. We sat outside in the first rays of sunshine and had a very good lunch. We had a very friendly waitress, a young man who was very busy. The waiting times were a little longer at times, but still within limits. We had a very good potato soup as a starter, followed by the dish of the day with schnitzel and a tarte flambée. Both were very tasty, and special requests are no problem here. There are parking spaces or parking garages in the area; an hour costs around €1.5 to €2. Really recommended!

Dined there with work colleagues on a Monday afternoon. We couldn't speak of waiting times being too long. There wasn't much going on for the location. The waitresses were friendly and attentive. The food portions ranged from sufficient (Berner Geschnetzeltes) to generous (Jägerschnitzel). Everyone enjoyed it. The drinks were well chilled, but the beer barely bubbled. If you want portions of ice cream as dessert: they are not on the menu... you have to order them explicitly at the table. The interior is nice... even if you can see in a few corners that a small renovation would be necessary (especially the men's toilet)

We went there for a drink after our long walk in the castle park. The wheat and the small pilsner for 9 euros were pretty steep. Otherwise I think I'll just use Tourimaknet.

Were there for breakfast. The portions are more than tiny for a high price, we were really shocked when the plates came.. Update Judging by your good overall star rating and the coffee house is definitely not known for sumptuous breakfasts :D

Unfortunately it's no longer what it used to be. The service was very unfriendly and brisk, which might have something to do with the large number of guests on a sunny Sunday afternoon, but it doesn't matter to me as a paying customer. The dirty table and the dirty beer glass complete the grubby impression. It's a shame, more could be done with it.

There were three of us and we had burgers, currywurst and once pasta. Everything was very tasty and the service was super nice and attentive. We'll be back!

Unfortunately, we had to leave the restaurant after waiting for over an hour... Food simply didn't come and the long waiting time wasn't communicated to us. Tables that arrived later received their food before us. When we got up to leave we were told to take the food to go. Of course we didn't! We then went to the brewery - the food came after 20 minutes and the service was great.

Und unterschiedliche Preise zu berechnen wenn man sein Mittagstischmenü nicht alleine isst, ist unverschämt. Teilt man sich das Mittagstischmenü mit einer 2. Person, zahlt man den normalen Preis. Wo gibts denn sowas?!

Unfortunately, if salad is offered, only half a portion is impossible. No salt, no pepper, 4 waiters approached, none brought anything, a simple check-in. And the best thing is that no one even cares, it's really bad service

Ordered the house-style burger with rocket and parmesan, but unfortunately there were a total of 2 leaves of rocket and 3 flakes of parmesan, as well as fried and peppery meat and a soft bun soaked in far too much mayo with fries and without anything green on the plate.

Were here recently and accidentally left my bag behind. Thanks to the honest and attentive staff, it was found and stored safely - with all its contents! A huge thank you to the team for their honesty and great service. In addition to the friendly atmosphere, there are also really trustworthy people here. 😊

I then noticed. that you couldn't choose a table when reserving and it doesn't matter which table we sit at... we're now sitting at a table for 4 people and there's only 3 of them. I'm kind of totally pissed off... I don't think they have to respond to the customer's request, which I think is a shame mike müller follow-up... I asked for a call back, which is what happened... if you look at everything now from every perspective, I was well informed and please excuse me for ranting too quickly!!!

We had breakfast... it was nice, everyone was friendly and very leggga. Expensive, of course, but where can you eat so much cheaper...? It's gone up everywhere! Hot drinks weren't really warm, but new ones were brought straight away without any problem... Hot!! Very happy again.

Bleibt dann nur Tischwechsel übrig ,wenn einer frei ist. Man wird jedoch sehr freundlich auf diese Situation aufmerksam gemacht. Wir waren insgesamt hochzufrieden mit unserem Besuch.

Wow, you can't beat the arrogance, something like this would never have happened under Harald Zimmermann. After the entrance door you meet a guy.....I, God, Emperor, Savior, my guests from the Porsche Club Switzerland were visibly negatively impressed. Different owners, different customs, service was poor and we waited an hour for the "delicious food" which prompted one of my guests to ask if the chef had gone home. Conclusion,... this way can be practiced in Croatia in a cheap hotel, but not in a renowned coffee house in Schwetzingen that has developed its fabulous positive image with a lot of hard work and love for guest satisfaction. Once the reputation is ruined, you live completely unabashedly. COFFEE HOUSE QUO VADIS ??

We had reserved for 8 people. When we arrived we were told that there was only one table for 6 (reserved 11/2 weeks in advance) In total we waited an hour for our breakfast. After asking several times, my cousin finally got her breakfast. Service should actually be given 0 stars because it was unfriendly - no apology, nothing. The breakfast was delicious but could have been more for the price. One person at the table finally got their cake just before they left.

Café in a lovely sunny location outside, even in winter. But... waiting 25 minutes for a coffee is not acceptable, despite there being a lot of guests.

The cake didn't arrive for another 20 minutes and the coffee took a whole 40 minutes to arrive. The cake had long since been eaten. In between, no one took care of us or let us know that it was taking longer. And in general, the male waitress was rather on the rude side. The highlight: card payments only from €25. Really a shame!

It's been years since we've been back to Mannheim and had breakfast in a coffee house in Schwetzingen. We reserved a table, enjoyed great and super nice service, delicious chai latte, matcha latte, as well as two ultimate egg beneficks and granola bowls. Definitely come back.
