As always, the atmosphere outside is great. The food is good value, especially the lunch time specials. I really enjoyed the pasta with salmon and shrimp.

Were there for breakfast. The portions are more than tiny for a high price, we were really shocked when the plates came.. Update Judging by your good overall star rating and the coffee house is definitely not known for sumptuous breakfasts :D

I'm going to the coffee house for brunch. The food is always very good and appetizingly prepared. The team there is without exception very friendly and polite.

Ordered the Kurpfalzschnitzel from the lunch menu 3 times yesterday at 1:30 p.m. After 30 minutes without food I asked the waitress where the food was. Shrugging his shoulders - there's just a lot going on right now..... (ha ha!) At 2:30 p.m., after ONE HOUR without food, the service staff told us that it didn't work that way! All the guests who arrived about 20-30 minutes after us had already received their food. No apology, no admission of having done anything wrong, just evasive theories. I canceled the meal because I didn't want to wait any longer. I've never experienced anything like this before. Left the restaurant very upset with an empty stomach. It goes without saying that I had to pay for the drinks. Nobody did anything wrong. NEVER AGAIN!!!

Long waiting time. Bad service.

Unfortunately, the service is a complete disaster. Even though the restaurant wasn't particularly full, we waited forever for our breakfast and a tarte flambée. First half of the Spanish breakfast came, then nothing else for 15 minutes. Then, as we asked, the rest came bit by bit. Our waitress was never in sight, when I asked for more drinks at the counter they couldn't/wouldn't help me and referred me to the waitress. So we didn't have a chance to order drinks during the entire visit. Not really nice at 32 degrees. Our first order was 2 bottles of water and a pot of coffee. There was no ice in 2 of 4 glasses and the water was unfortunately lukewarm, but since the waitress couldn't be found, we drank them. However, it has to be said that the food was extremely tasty and very plentiful. If you had somehow managed to bring them in at the same time, everything would be fine from this point of view.

Pleasant place with a mixed crowd

The service only comes if you actively get up after 15 minutes and speak to them while standing (but it is also unfriendly and not attentive), the food itself tastes like it came from the freezer and at the end there are wild drinks on the bill didn't order. Unfortunately, it was only when I got home in Mannheim that I noticed that there were things on the bill that we never ordered; the whole store is a pure tourist rip-off

Service is so bad. We wanted to eat something but apparently they didn't want our money. We weren't served for 30 minutes and then left. My conclusion, never again!

It is a place with a very high atmosphere and energy. The employees are attentive, but they stay a little late because they are busy. There was live music in the square next to it, it was enjoyable to eat along with the music.

Disappointing experience at the coffeehouse Unfortunately, our visit to the coffee house was anything but satisfactory. The schnitzel was tough and the sauce had an unpleasant, sticky consistency. There were also some brown leaves in the salad, which further spoiled the overall impression. The dirty glass we had to drink from was also unacceptable. We've had much better experiences in the past, and at a cheaper price. After this experience we won't be returning for a long time. It's a shame because we were looking forward to a pleasant evening.

We were there 2 days ago with a small group, and although we politely asked the waitress several times if we could order, we were told that it would still take a while. We sat there waiting for a total of over 20 minutes - for nothing.

Centrally located. Food and service were good. The selection of food on offer was great, including on the lunch menu. Gladly again!

My first impression was rather sobering, but the longer I sat there the better I liked it. I was only there for coffee and cake. The prices are, as expected, high, but completely ok for the location. The service was very courteous and friendly. The longer I sat there the more I saw of the food that came out and it all looked very good. I can't tell you what bothered me either, but when you consider how big the store is and how many guests are served here at the same time, I find it almost unbelievable that everything runs so smoothly. And as I said, the food at least looked very good.

Great atmosphere and delicious food, I can only recommend it. The service was also very nice and helpful. There are new offers every day. We were there on Tuesday evening and they had salads on offer. I had the “Windsor Salad”. It tasted really delicious and the portions were very large. The only thing that bothered us was it was very loud. Maybe it was because it was raining heavily and the guests had to come in from outside, but even before that it was very loud, especially the music playing in the background. I'm sure it's much more pleasant to sit outside when the weather is nice.

We were there for breakfast on a Friday. There wasn't much going on, our waitress was perhaps trying hard, but unfortunately very erratic. The scrambled eggs came to the table cold, we had ordered for outside including a sausage variation and muesli, etc. When the sausage came, it was unbearable outside, there were endless wasps. So we asked for a table inside, since the coffee house can't do anything for the wasps. But the waitress didn't want to sit us down and instead put glowing coffee grounds on the table. That didn't help. Only another waitress helped us go inside. Our waitress didn't show up for any further coffee requests. So I'm at the counter myself. The tip was just as poor... Coffee house: take a better look at your staff. With 5cm nails stuck on you can't enter anything properly on the order pads and so the waitress billed incorrectly three times while we were there. The calculation didn't add up for us either. The upholstery inside should be reupholstered.

I've been coming here for years and I've also taken a lot of friends here with me, they were all thrilled. The first time at the end of 1980, again yesterday. There was neither a café restaurant like this back then nor to this day, neither in Darmstadt nor in Neuwied. The service is always top even when it's packed! Went there on Friday evening and took a seat at one of the free tables. (Utilization approx. 65% at the time) We left after about 25 minutes of waiting. Unfortunately, 3 service employees were standing in front of the door and were talking intensively, but unfortunately they didn't have an eye on any of the tables.

Even though it's always a bit hectic because it's busy (which is a good sign), I always enjoy coming here. They have the best Italian salad in the entire region here... (It's disappeared from the menu for a while, but there's probably more than just me who's a fan. In any case, it's back now.) The coffee house has the charm of the cafés of my youth... (The Café Journal on the main street in Heidelberg. E.g.) So it's partly nostalgia and partly a general opinion that this place is "good". Everything is pretty much correct here. Always nice.

So first of all, the ambience. Schwetzingen at Schlossplatz doesn't need to be said anymore. The only drawback was our wobbly table. *lol* In terms of service, you could say that it would be faster, but due to the high number of visitors in the evening, I consider that to be normal. Food took about 30 minutes from ordering to delivery. Had the ratatouille pan with garlic baquette. Food was ok so far. Vegetables weren't too hard and not too soft, so they were on point for me. The whole thing is gratinated with cheese and tomato sauce. Absolutely perfect in terms of taste. I would have liked the garlic baquette to have a little less roasted flavor, but that's the only point of criticism. That doesn't mean that others don't like it that much.

I was served a dirty drink. The bottle was covered in black mold spots. Really disgusting. The service wasn't good. The truffle tagliatelle is drowned in cream and parmesan. Hardly a trace of truffles. The ambience is wonderful.

Very nice restaurant, food was delicious. One of the best meals we've ever had in the restaurant, everything fresh. French toast, Kaiserschmarren and much more are offered as dessert. An absolute hammer. The service was OK, but they were very overwhelmed.

Large terrace directly on Schlossplatz, good and cheap food, fast service, long opening hours

The Schwetzinger Schloßplatz offers flair. Enjoyment of life. Gastronomy as far as the eye can see. And of course the “coffee house”. For Father's Day we treat ourselves to breakfast again. An impressively cheerful waitress speaks like the singer Elif and looks quite similar to her. Despite the fully occupied terrace and a lot of stress, she shines confidently in competition with the sun. She has a friendly saying on her lips for every guest. Soon she will also bring our breakfast. As we each order another tea, she comes to our table a little later with a toast: “Ta’daa…!”, a coffee and a cappuccino. I respond lovingly: “I was happy too soon!” She laughs, goes to the next table, picks herself up and happily repeats: “Ta'daaa…!”, serves the hot drinks and continues to scurry back and forth between taking the order, the terrace and the kitchen here. Tireless. With ease. - When we want to pay with a debit card, she says: “I'll wait for you at the checkout.” When I go in, she's gone again. Five minutes later she comes back to the counter from the kitchen, smiles, apologizes and thanks me for my patience - all in one breath. I compliment her on her professional confidence and add promisingly: “See you next time.” She follows up with: “Feel free to leave a review on Google!” - I would also like to know Elif’s real name. - Now the “coffee house” gets a five-star rating that actually only she deserves!😉

For the first time in 20 years I own a catering business leave..... WITHOUT leaving a tip... That's supposed to mean something.... We wanted to sit down here before the concert in the castle (PUR 02.08.24), so after asking if we could sit down we were directed to an uncleared table and took a seat. After 15 minutes the table was cleared... not wiped and a card was placed on the table... after another 15 minutes the order was taken... at least reference was made to the high volume of guests and pointed out that there will be a 20-30 minute waiting time when eating... Then we were presented with 2 warm beers... No chance of complaint as they cheekily ignored us!! I've never experienced it before... New guests were welcomed around us and we continued to be ignored... When after an hour (it's not an exaggeration) around us, the guests who came after us had all eaten... it was too much for me... I went to the counter and asked the person in charge during the shift..... I was asked with the words..... "Someone wants to complain.haha...no one has been to the toilet here in the last 2 hours and they want to complain"..... Me I didn't want to know when his needs would be met, I wanted a sensible contact person... then the service person who ignored us for over an hour stepped in and at least listened to me... She went into the kitchen and immediately had the food we ordered in her hand... It had probably been in the warming cupboard for a while... That's what it seemed like...LUKEWARM.... However, the fries and the sauce on the schnitzel were still tolerable... So warm beer and cold food... I wanted to leave quickly, so I had to pay for that. I had to go to the counter at the EC shop .... paid quickly and then gone..... So..... no more coffee houses in Schwetzingen!! I stand by the criticism and have not exaggerated it. We went for breakfast and I have to say there was nothing to complain about.

There is a sign at the entrance that directs you to a place. 5 minutes later and six employees who skillfully ignored us and neither greeted us nor assigned us a seat. The waitress seemed very bored and annoyed that she had to walk to the back of the cafe. Way too far? The waiting time between the hot drinks and breakfast was 25 minutes, unfortunately a bit too long. The breakfast was absolutely fine, unfortunately we won't come again because we just missed the friendliness and warmth here. A pity. We remember it being much better in previous years.

We were there at 10am for breakfast. It took 20 minutes until we got our coffee. The waitress occasionally apologized for the long wait. OK, I thought, if breakfast comes now everything will be fine. But we were wrong, it still took over an hour for breakfast to arrive. Having to wait 1.5 hours for breakfast is unacceptable. We weren't forgotten either, as the waitress kept putting us off. We wanted to have a nice day, but instead we went home in a bad mood. Even the most beautiful ambience is of no use if you have to wait 1.5 hours for your breakfast. We cannot recommend the house more highly.

We were in the coffee house. The iced coffee was served without vanilla ice cream. When asked: "That can't be right." Unfortunately, the response to this was not customer-friendly. A pity. It's no longer an option for us.

We had breakfast here this morning and unfortunately I am very disappointed and frustrated. Our waitress was a nice young woman, 2 unfriendly and disrespectful waiters brought the food and literally threw it on the table. Food was brought incorrectly, I tried to explain what my order was and then the waitress (blonde young woman with ponytail and big glasses) became loud and rude. I really regret the visit, even though I was really looking forward to it. Unfortunately we won't be coming again.

Kaffeehaus does not disappoint! I love the current menu with lots of Mediterranean influence. Really tasty food and plenty of vegetarian options. The staff is friendly. Outside is a large area of tables covered by sun umbrellas. First come first served. Inside is an old style coffeehouse -- warm and welcoming in the cooler or rainy weather. We've been there many times over 30 + years-- nice to see them going on at the Schwetzinger Schlossplatz.

Although it was Wednesday lunchtime and there wasn't much going on, many of the staff were neither particularly quick nor particularly friendly... we had to wait 30 minutes for our "lunch" breaded schnitzel. Exchanging the fries for potato salad would have cost 3.50, "because you can't do any extra work with a cheap lunch." By the way, the beer was way too warm! As before: what a shame about the beautiful location! But the tourist only comes once. ....and everyone from Schwetzingen seems to have a very long lunch break!

Ich kann es schon gar nicht mehr zählen wie oft wir im Kaffeehaus waren bzw. sind. Nach dem letzten Besitzerwechsel finden wir die Speisekarte noch besser, die Speisen sind auch etwas größer geworden, was nun auch zum Preis passt, das Geschirr ist moderner etc. Klasse finde ich, dass die Frühstückskarte auch um einiges erweitert und modernisiert wurde, alte Klassiker wie z.B. bestimmte Salat wurden beibehalten. Klar ist hier der Preis etwas höher, aber dafür hat man ein bestimmtes Ambiente gerade im Sommer (ist wie Urlaub). Das Servicepersonal ist super, freundlich und wirklich flink.

If you want to be there in Schwetzingen you have to walk through the coffee house at least once in the evening.

Catastrophic conditions. She really hated serving. We dried the rain-drenched table ourselves, got the tickets ourselves, it was impossible to order drinks, and we had to ask several times to be able to pay. We had to wait a very, very long time for everything. There are other restaurants on Schlossplatz. Things are going much better there. I will avoid coffeehouses with my guests in the future. The behavior of the young and arrogant waitress who was unwilling to work really damaged the mood at the table.

The food was excellent and service was very nice.

The breakfast was tasty, but very simple. The young lady who “served” us was very friendly and nice. The chairs are extremely uncomfortable. We certainly would have ordered more and stayed longer, but the chairs made us move to another location.

Ladies and Gentlemen we arrived at 3:30 p.m. and ordered straight away. First of all we were greeted rudely and our food came at 4:45 p.m., we had to wait 1 hour and 15 minutes. Then came a condition that complained to us that we were not allowed to move the tables, even though there were more people who could have fit at one table. This is just a disgrace!!! In addition, the food didn't taste very good. The burger tasted old and was very soggy. The fries only tasted of oil and salt. In addition, many of our orders were forgotten and when we pointed out the condition, they reacted aggressively and rudely. Two of us didn't even get our ice cream. In summary, I can say that I cannot recommend the coffee house! Better go eat somewhere else!!!

Actually, I shouldn't give it a star. 7 waitresses outside in service. Despite a friendly wave, they were skillfully ignored for 30 minutes. 1st order: Sweet potato fries arrived after 30 minutes. 2nd order: Apple strudel with vanilla ice cream arrived after 60 minutes with the comment “don't you have any cutlery?” The cutlery came relatively quickly after 3 minutes. Knife and fork 🫣I got the spoon for the ice cream myself as a precaution. 3rd order: 1 piece of Sacher Torte after 70 minutes. Unfortunately it was warm 🥵 It probably waited an hour to be picked up outside the refrigerator.

Everything was delicious - until we found a thick, black, curled hair in the food. Of course we informed the service person directly. There was no real apology and we had to pay for this unappetizing dish - very disappointing. Addendum to Kaffeehaus's outrageous answer: We left half of the French toast after we found the hair - so the plate wasn't empty as the coffee house shamelessly suggested. What kind of handling of justified criticism is this! I have been a customer at the coffee house since I was a child. Due to the declining quality of both the food and apparently the service and this insinuation (see answer from coffee house), I, my family and my friends will avoid the coffee house in the future. It's a shame that you treat your guests like that. This is how you scare away your regular customers. P.S. It is also advisable to address your guests as “you”, even if it is an internet comment.

I have been a regular guest at the coffee house since I was a child, but this was my last visit. We ordered some French toast and found a thick, long black hair in it. Of course something like that can happen. However, when we politely pointed this out to the service staff, this was only half-heartedly acknowledged and we were not offered a replacement or a price reduction. I pointed this out again when paying, but was ignored. One of my friends then wrote a review to which the response was extremely rude and made false claims. We were told that there was no hair, that we were apologized multiple times (which doesn't make sense - if there was no hair, why apologize?), and that we ate everything (which we did is a lie again because we let half go back). This reaction is not only unprofessional, but also simply wrong. Here are some legal information: If you as a guest find a significant defect such as a hair in the food, you have the right to a replacement or price reduction (see: § 434, § 437 and § 441 BGB). It is very disappointing to see that a place that I have enjoyed visiting since I was a child has deteriorated so much in quality and especially in service. My family and I will definitely not be coming back. It's a shame that long-time customers are treated like this.

We were only there for a few drinks, we waited for waiters who saw us but didn't run towards us. Had to get up and go to the bar to let them know. Waitress rather unsympathetic and even drinks arrived late. When you wanted to pay, it took a long time for a colleague to come. There was nothing about drinking and the room was actually quite pleasant and well furnished.

I recently had the pleasure of dining here and overall was very pleased. Particularly noteworthy is the extremely friendly and attentive service. The staff was not only polite but also very accommodating and made the visit a pleasant experience. Gülay had a very good overview here despite it being busy! The ambience of the restaurant is cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxed dinner.

Never again. Service rude, food bad. Just never again! (Tables and chairs could also be replaced...) It's a shame that something like that is on Schlossplatz.

Very nice atmosphere, even though it was busy, very good and friendly service and the food was absolutely top. We rarely get really excited when we go out to eat, but here we all were!

My girlfriend and I wanted to have a relaxed coffee in the coffee house today. When we arrived, we had to wait 15 minutes for the menu, which we had to ask for ourselves. While she brought the menu, we noticed her bad mood. When after another 15 minutes no one came, we left the restaurant annoyed. Not recommended.

Prices are higher compared to the rest of the Schlossplatz. Service is sometimes okay, sometimes rather unfriendly. Unfortunately, plant-based milk still costs an extra €1, which I no longer think is appropriate.

Overpriced drinks and food. Card payment from €25 and a service that has no idea what is on the card. Anyone who pays an extra €1 for oat milk has not understood something anyway.

If the workforce was overwhelmed on Mother's Day, it wasn't on Whit Monday. Despite the large crowd at lunchtime, we received very friendly service from Esra, but the others were also very friendly to the guests. The drinks came promptly, the selection of four types of beer from the barrel is to be praised. We had to wait a little longer for the food, but the great ambience didn't make us feel the wait. The menu offers something for everyone, great value for money. The “Bali Chicken” on the new menu is a hit, with an excellent taste. We should all be grateful that young people provide us with such good cooking and service during the holidays. Espresso and bill came without waiting.

Very nice service, great breakfast 💜 you can last a long time here. Addendum May '24: Unfortunately the atmosphere has lost a lot over the last few weeks. There are now signs on many tables stating that the table can only be used by a certain number of guests. The signs alone are very disgusting. Last time I made reservations for three to have breakfast together. The table was tiny. Because of illness there were only two of us and we really had a hard time fitting everything on the table. The third chair couldn't really have been used because one would have been sitting in the middle of the passage. Optimization has its limits and it is clear to us that they have been reached here and we are no longer going there. It's a shame because that was already a tradition for us.

We had reserved a table for breakfast for Mother's Day, but were turned away on site with the explanation that no more tables could be occupied inside because 'the service couldn't keep up'. Other people were turned away before us and the reservation would be cancelled. We could all try to find a free seat outside if we were lucky (but that was completely hopeless). As we passed by, we heard a couple angrily complaining that they had now waited over an hour for their food and that they wanted to cancel their order and leave. ..... This was our first time there, so I can't say whether this happens often. But the fact is that as a guest I have to be able to rely on a reservation if I arrive on time. Especially on a holiday like this, when you suddenly find yourself literally on the street with no alternative. We were really annoyed by the way it was communicated. An espresso at the bar and a 'the next available table is theirs' would have been the least.
