JOHO Broiler Bar in Zingst

Simply amazing! The broiler was incredibly delicious, the fries were perfectly crispy, and the friendly staff rounded out the experience. We'll definitely be back!

Not a particularly inviting atmosphere. We were greeted with "a seat for two people and two meows"... because we came with two dogs. We should have turned around right then. Simply disrespectful. Then the waitress asked us why it's called Selters and where the name comes from – she should know better. The name comes from the Roman "Aqua Saltare" = dancing water. The food was okay, more for a small appetite. Our dogs were accepted, but when one of them barked when spoken to, the waitress mimicked the dog, which is completely counterproductive. This was clearly not clear to the waitress and is unpleasant for dog owners. She should keep this in mind in the future.

We had no chance! As soon as we saw the Broilerbar, we rushed over and were only obsessed with one thought: Ribs!!! And they were incredibly tasty again. We seemed to arrive at a time of day when the bar was busy. But we accepted the wait for the outstanding food.

We were so looking forward to the broiler - a real “hieper” after so much fish. An offer was advertised, which unfortunately cannot be varied: Freely according to the motto: eat or die! Fries are not interchangeable, the only salad was coleslaw. In addition, 1/4 broiler with asparagus, potatoes and sauce was advertised seasonally. Unfortunately, it wasn't possible to vary here either and get a 1/2 broiler instead of the 1/4 broiler. The size of the 1/4 broiler corresponded to a chicken leg... and for 27€!!!! Absolutely customer-unfriendly and unprofessional and a rip-off! If you're hungry, you should look elsewhere!!

We tried two citizen variations. Both were very tasty. Nice combination with fresh ingredients. The food came quickly, which is perfect after a long walk by the sea.

JOHO Broiler Bar Zingst – a lot of concept, little hospitality The JOHO Broiler Bar is clearly visible behind the old rescue shed, just a few steps from the pier - the modern design and tongue-in-cheek concept initially arouse curiosity. The pulled chicken burger on the board also sounded quite promising. One more reason to take a look. But what followed abruptly silenced any anticipation. As soon as we entered, we were greeted by an extremely unfriendly employee with a curt bark of “NOTHING FREE” - no greeting, no smile, not a hint of hospitality. We were about to leave when a couple right at the entrance pointed out that they were leaving shortly - so we were welcome to take their place. We gratefully accepted. But the atmosphere remained frosty. The employee in question set the table wordlessly and with demonstrative annoyance and asked in a sharp tone about the drink order. As soon as we ordered, the drinks arrived - accompanied by the question of whether he could now take the food order. We kindly asked for a moment as we didn't yet know the map. Instead of understanding: an annoyed eye roll and wordless turning away. Two minutes later he stood in front of us again – visibly annoyed. At this point it was clear to us: This is not the place where we want to eat. We paid for our drinks and left the restaurant - disappointed, irritated and with a palpable sense of discomfort. The modern ambience and the visually attractively presented dishes cannot disguise the lack of basic courtesy and professional service. At a price level of €16.50 for a burger, €6.50 for fries and €3.50 for a 0.2 liter cola, you can certainly expect a minimum level of friendliness. Conclusion: An interesting concept that unfortunately fails in its implementation at one crucial point - respectful treatment of guests. One thing is certain for us: we will not visit this place again. It was anything but nice here.

Since you can't reserve a table in advance, we tried it and were successful. The restaurant is very modern and stylishly furnished. The staff was very friendly and all of our wishes were fulfilled. The drinks were very tasty and we all enjoyed the food sensationally. The chicken was still very juicy, the fries were crispy and the sweet potato was soft. The own coleslaw and parmesan fries creation were excellent. Thank you for the great end to our vacation!

We had the 1/2 broiler and the currywurst. Both were very tasty. We'll be back.

The side dishes were fresh and perfectly balanced. I would particularly like to highlight the service: Our waiter was not only attentive and friendly, but also really personable and always had a smile on his face. You could tell that he was passionate about his job - that made the visit even more pleasant. Great food, great atmosphere and service as you would expect. We'll definitely be back!

Yesterday at the Lichtertanz (light dance) in Zingst with a little 2-year-old girl, we received a very warm welcome, and the food was delicious for all five of us. The staff was VERY friendly, and we'd love to come back.

Today we had a delicious broiler meal. The dishes were plentiful.

Unfortunately I can't share the hype about JOHO... If something is neither really good nor really bad, it's something you don't really need. Unfortunately, my expectations were not met and those of my companion were certainly not met. Well, what do you expect from System Gastronomy?!? Nothing really - but definitely not a disappointment. In terms of taste, I've had better 'half' 🐔 - spicier and juicier..... The amount of side dishes, especially the coleslaw, can be described as small... The friendly service doesn't make up for everything here. I was there once and probably won't really come back. Recommend None...

Something different, we had a lot of fun with the broiler. The four of us ate and ordered a whole broiler and a half broiler and were well fed.

We had dinner. The restaurant is modernly furnished, but not really comfortable for me. The food is ok and the price is a bit high. The skin of the broiler is very strongly seasoned, unfortunately also with a lot of salt. A broiler from the weekly market tastes better. The coleslaw salad and field fries are good, but nothing special. It didn't convince me at the price.

The 3 of us had broiler luck this evening and we were completely satisfied. We didn't manage to eat everything, so they were happy to pack it up for us to take away. Very friendly service, very good red wine and great restaurant. We are very happy to recommend it.

EVERYTHING is really right here!!! We were very hungry and a little hesitant in front of the restaurant - whether a "broiler bar" would meet our needs. We decided to give it a try. We were very hungry too... Luckily, because it was super delicious! The service was very pleasant, the atmosphere was very appealing, but first the food... We were really surprised at what perfect preparation, sophisticated dips and versatile salad variations can achieve. In addition, the size of the portion means that dessert is unfortunately no longer possible. We had the classic half broiler and the broiler burger. Really tasty and great value for money!

Unfortunately, our visit to Joho in Zingst had some challenges. Although there were about 10 tables available that were blocked off for reservations at 6:30 p.m. (we were there at 4:30 p.m.), we were only offered seats at the entrance or kitchen door. Despite repeated questions, the staff showed no responsiveness. I chose half a broiler with a salad. Unfortunately, the broiler was a bit dry and could have been seasoned better, and the salad wasn't quite to my taste. Despite these points, I hope that Joho makes improvements in the future as the ambience of the restaurant is quite appealing and the potential for a pleasant dining experience is there. Since I can't respond to your comment, here it is again. The challenge at the beginning was when your colleague said there was no room either at the entrance or in the kitchen. Of course you don't have to justify your reservations, but when I asked several times (I was in the restaurant at 4:30 p.m. - the reservations mentioned came at 6:30 p.m. out of 15 tables, one was occupied) there was no response. I fully understand your situation, but dealing with guests could have been friendlier. And your colleague did NOT offer anything “on the house”. I can also leave my receipt here as proof.

Nice restaurant, the lighting could be worked on with the ambience... much too bright. Dimming it a bit would make everything more comfortable. Nevertheless the food is very good.

We were there in the afternoon around 3 p.m. and had the classic: half a chicken with fries and salad. Even though we visited between peak times, the chicken was just perfect, juicy and crispy, perfectly seasoned and quite large. Not to be compared with chicken from Hertels & Co. from the grill cart. The salad was freshly prepared. The service was very friendly and professional. Conclusion: If you like broilers, you will love JOHO. We are happy to recommend it.

Were here for dinner, the shop is modern but comfortably furnished. The food was very tasty, but if you're really hungry you should order a starter or use one of the larger chicken versions. (Had the chicken breast) Staff was friendly and attentive, so all in all a successful meal.

Ate two broiler burgers and fries there this afternoon. I rarely eat burgers that were as well prepared as the ones we ate there today. From the citizen roll (sourdough) to the salad, everything was perfectly prepared. The sauce and the meat are simply in a class of their own. There was also homemade fries as a side dish. And these too are simply delicious. The atmosphere is attractive and everything is clean. The service was friendly and accommodating. Price and performance are okay. By the way, I had a latte and it even tasted like coffee. So what more could you want? We in each were full and satisfied.

Der Broiler ist leider zweimal gestorben. Man erwartet eine saftige Keule und bekommt trockenes und zähes Hühnchenfleisch, das am Knochen klebt. Die Pommes und die Beilagen waren super, aber der Hauptakteur hält leider nicht, was ein Broiler verspricht. Die Hühnchenbrust meiner Frau hat das leider nur bestätigt. Ich werde dort nicht noch einmal bestellen.

We had dinner here on our summer vacation last year. It was fine. Last week, on our fall vacation, we wanted to try it again. Unfortunately, at the entrance we were told to park our buggy outside by a very unfriendly employee. There was enough space in the restaurant, but it didn't work. We then left the restaurant. The staff was so unfriendly and disrespectful that we went somewhere else. I always thought that the guest was king. Apparently not in the Joho Broiler Bar.

The dishes are great, the drinks are great, (a very good Aperol) the service is very attentive and that alone is reason enough to be a repeat customer. I hope for new ideas for the new season regarding the menu. Let's see what else you can conjure up from 'Broiler'. Tip is the plate for 2👍

Broiler saftig und kross. Bei dem Caesar Salat werde nicht an den Tomaten und dem Parmesan gespart und die Croutons waren knackig . Die Rippchen waren zart und toll mariniert. Portionen sehr gut.

We were greeted very nicely and were lucky to get a seat on the terrace. The waitress was very friendly and brought us the menu straight away. The concept of only offering “broilers” is great, the menu is clear and that’s great. I had the broiler breast with sweet potatoes and my friend had the 1/2 broiler. The food was incredibly tasty, absolutely top 👍🏻 🤗😋🤩. We'll spend another good week here and will definitely come back again and if we come to Zingst again, then we'll definitely come back 🤩😋 If you come to Zingst you should definitely stop here 😉👍🏻👍🏻 (Unfortunately the pictures didn't turn out quite as well 🤦🏼‍♀️)

We didn't even stay. Either sharing a table with an extended family or outside in the rain, but sharing a table with someone else was not an option and then rudely spoken to - you'll never see us again, because there are soooo much better restaurants here. Thanks for nothing And thank you for the answer and NO, we were not offered any other alternative and the staff/service treated us very rudely and flippantly instead of being friendly and respectful. This is inexcusable.

Super nice service! Very fast! Delicious and great atmosphere! As if you were isolated from the hustle and bustle around the restaurant and didn't notice anything. This location is really one of the best restaurants you can get if you like broiler and the like. The interior is very modern and cozy with stylish benches and the outside area is separated from the shopping street by glass panels with a hedge in front and is kept warm and well lit with gas flames even in colder temperatures, which means you can still sit outside even in autumn. The food is fresh and worth the price. The drink selection is large and the sauces are fantastic! Highly recommended

The Broiler Bar Zingst, as the name suggests, mainly offers chicken dishes with a side dish of sweet or field potatoes. The inserts are also interchangeable. We had broiler breast with field potatoes and Joho sauce and coleslaw as well as ribs with field potatoes Joho sauce and coleslaw (coleslaw). The dishes were nicely presented. The broiler breast was crispy and juicy, the fries were crunchy. The ribs were buttery tender. The restaurant has a beautiful outdoor terrace and a relatively large indoor area. The decoration is not lavish, but clearly structured. The toilets are modern and very clean. The service is a little hectic as the store was busy but only 2 people were doing the service. The man behind the bar helped serve the drinks. Overall, I can really recommend this restaurant.

We were there with 5 people and said to ourselves that in a Broiler Bar we definitely have to order the long-running favorite! 1/2 chicken with etc. All around the table we were disappointed at how dry the chicken was. As I read, we are not the first to complain about this.

Unfortunately, the disappointment began with the greeting... When we asked for a table for two, we were given the unfriendly answer that there were no seats left inside and we could only sit outside. That wasn't a problem for us as we prefer to sit outside anyway. The ambience is nice, with the heat lamps you can stay outside for a really long time, even in autumn. We got the cards from the waiter, which also looked very good. Since there was a table tent on the table with a QR code for quick and easy ordering, we thought we could ease the burden on the staff by ordering through it. We did that too, the website was super intuitive. The waiter came back to the table a short time later and wanted to take the order when we told him that we had already done so online. The waiter replied literally: “Then what are we here for?!” We replied that we assumed that if it was on the table you would order over it. The waiter then just shook his head. Unfortunately, after the second unfriendly contact, our patience was exhausted. We went to the checkout and wanted to cancel our order because of the rudeness. The answer from the waiter in question was: “The order can no longer be canceled”. Luckily, a second waiter was able to understand the reason and canceled the order. It's a shame, we would have loved to eat in this lovely atmosphere. Unfortunately, that was taken away from us.

My review only applies to the Joho ice cream parlor. I ordered an Amarena cup with 3 specific flavors of ice cream. The staff only understood a little German. I got completely different ice cream and the sundae contained exactly 4 Amarena cherries. A joke for €8.90.

Broiler at its best. Very tasty, large animals. Actually, 1/4 chicken is enough to fill you up. It's a shame that the chain is only available on the Baltic Sea. We'll be back!

Ambiance and service were good. Unfortunately, both this season and last year, the food was mediocre at best. French fries IO and salad, but the chicken is nothing, it doesn't eat anything and is as dry as toast. Not for sale in other parts of Germany.
