Ziemlich ernüchternd, Wir waren vor einpaar Jahren schon einmal da und hatten das Restaurant in guter Erinnerung. Nicht viel von geblieben! Auf Nachfrage des Anzündens der Kerze auf dem Tisch, Antwort des Kellners, er ist Nichtraucher und hat kein Feuerzeug. Ich dachte, es wäre ein Scherz und es käme in den nächsten Minuten jemand mit einem Feuerzeug an den Tisch. Nichts geschah. Die Scholle war einfach nur trocken und totgebraten. Gemütlichkeit und gutes Essen, fehl am Platz. Der Gast ist ein geduldeter Besucher.

NIE NIE WIEDER !! Wir sind wirklich schockiert über den unhöflichen Umgang, den wir in diesem Restaurant erlebt haben. Es ist für uns unverständlich, wie die positiven Bewertungen zustande kommen.?? Wir wollten mit 6 erwachsenen Personen einen schönen Abend mit gutem Essen erleben. Eine telefonische Reservierung war nicht möglich. Man teilte uns mit, es seien in Moment noch mehrere Tische frei, wenn wir zeitnah kommen, hätten wir gute Chancen, einen freien Tisch zu bekommen. 15 Minuten später sind wir im Kranichrast angekommen und wir wurden regelrecht mit Geschrei beim Betreten des Restaurants vom Inhaber unfreundlich und gereizt herausgeworfen. So ein respektloses Verhalten gegenüber Gästen haben wir noch nicht erlebt. Es ist eine Sache, wenn es in einem Restaurant Stress gibt, aber Gäste so unhöflich rauszuwerfen geht gar nicht. Wir werden dieses Restaurant definitiv nicht noch einmal besuchen und kann es niemandem empfehlen, der Wert auf guten Service und respektvollen Umgang legt. Unser Fazit: Personalschulungen in dieser Region wären sukzessiv empfehlenswert. NUE NIE

Die Bedienung war sehr gestresst. Dort war auch wirklich sehr viel los. Trotzdem kann man sich mache Sprüche sparen. Uns wurde der Hochzeitstag sehr vermiest. Mein Zander war gut. Beilagen flach und ideenlos. Bratkartoffeln waren nur matschig. Salat nicht zu empfehlen. Schade

There was really a lot to do during the days and yet every plate looked well prepared, the taste was also very well coordinated and the quality was good. The service was also very well coordinated. Only recommended. Price, performance is right.

The friendliness of the staff is underground. We sat at a table full of drafts and asked the waitress to change tables twice after other tables became available. She said twice, that won't work and they'll just sit here, My fried potatoes were lukewarm and grayish in color. The fish was OK. We wouldn't go to this restaurant again.

The food was okay but not great, but the service was terrible, especially for Poles. The menu is only in German and the staff does not or does not want to speak English, and is discriminatory against Poles. One person from my group started smoking in the garden (there were ashtrays on the tables and there were only us in the garden) and was asked to leave the restaurant, but when the Germans came and the garden was full, they smoked at the tables without any reaction from the staff. The portions brought to us were smaller than those given to the Germans. I definitely do not recommend using this place if you are not German!

We asked for a reservation but it was refused. The welcome was very unfriendly, all the tables inside were free! We were still instructed to sit at a very small table for two instead of sitting at a table for four. We wanted to eat a starter, main course + dessert with a good bottle of wine and possibly a second bottle, we went there based on a recommendation. We immediately left the unfriendly restaurant. No recommendation for this unfriendliness

Wir hatten um Reservierung im Innenbereich gebeten, Reservierungen wurden abgelehnt. Bei Eintritt wurden wir schon höchst unfreundlich empfangen soweit man überhaupt von Empfang sprechen kann. Im Innenraum waren nur 2 kleine Tische besetzt ansonsten war alles frei so dass wir uns einen Tisch für 4 Personen ausgesucht hatten da wir Vorspeise/ Hauptspeise mit einer guten Flasche Wein den Abend genießen wollten. Daraufhin wurden angewiesen einen einen Tisch für 2 Personen nehmen, die ziemlich beengt waren. Wir gehen im Urlaub jeden Tag essen, meist zwischen 90,-€- 100,-€ aber der Service muss stimmen. Wir können von diesem Lokal nur abraten, diese unpersönliche unverschämte unfreundliche Art haben wir noch nie erlebt

We went for dinner today. Terrace fully occupied except for a bench for 8 people. But that only works for 8 people. Only tables inside. So put it there. After 10 minutes, two tables became available on the terrace. When asked if we could move to the terrace, we received a mushy negative answer: That's not possible! The food we ordered took about 45 minutes. We've been there several times this year, so today was the last time. Unfortunately, I can't tolerate that much kindness.

Zu dritt haben wir uns um 16 Uhr am 31.08.2024 im Restaurant getroffen. Es gab noch genügend Platz im Biergarten. Die Bedienung war in 2 Minuten mit den Speisekarten und Getränkekarten am Tisch. Es wurde ausführlich von den Tagesangeboten berichtet. Die Bestellung der Getränke kam zügig. Das Essen kam nach 10 Minuten, was schon sehr schnell ist. Es hat uns allen gut geschmeckt. Mehrmals wurde gefragt ob alles in Ordnung ist und ob wir noch etwas wünschen. Alles in allem können wir die Lokalität empfehlen.

The cake and coffee are of very good quality. The staff is very friendly, except for the older lady. Unfortunately, it does nothing to make you feel welcome. And alas, it starts to rain: it is strictly forbidden to sit down in the dining room, even though there is enough space there. Original tone of the lady: we don't do any implementations here, if it rains, then it rains! We're avoiding this "inn" now.

The food was very tasty, unfortunately we had to wait a long time for our food and the staff could be a bit friendlier.

Unfortunately, it is impossible to take the positive reviews seriously. The Kranihrast house seems to be doing well. Unfriendly. Derogatory. Families have no place here. That is the impression the employees give. It's crazy that something like this lasts. A shame for Zingst. Find another restaurant, the food can't be that good you have to do this to yourself.

Good food in the middle of the village and not too crowded in the late afternoon. Prices local. Location very clean and looks tidy!

Absolute recommendation. The food was delicious, everything was freshly prepared. We had to wait a bit for a table outside, but it was really worth it. Unfortunately I have to deduct a star for the service, friendliness leaves something to be desired. But the food made up for it.

Update August 16, 2024 Always enjoy the crane rest. A little out of the way but great service and great food. In the meantime there are also enough water bowls available for the dogs. Today we had a combination of catfish and pike perch with savoy cabbage and once the pike perch with fried potatoes. Delicious. Visited for the first time today. Of course we sat on the terrace in this weather. Dogs are allowed. There was a deduction for not offering the dog water. Food was great. Fish platter and halibut on cauliflower with mustard sauce and fried potatoes. Freshly prepared with waiting time. Totally ok. Priced in the upper middle range. Fits. Gladly again.

The two of us were there at around 6:45 p.m. and initially had to wait in front of the restaurant for over half an hour for an outside seat. Our problem, as indoor spaces became available much more quickly. We were then assigned a table for four on the beautiful outdoor terrace. We did not prefer multi-person occupancies, as some reviews say. When ordering, we were initially only able to order drinks, although we of course already knew what we wanted to eat during the long wait in front of the restaurant. Only the boss took orders. After ordering, it took almost 45 minutes for the food to arrive. This always came in batches for several tables. We saw a couple who waited a good hour for their food. The food itself was very good (fish platter, cod fillet). The service was generally friendly, but did not seem to be organized efficiently. While only the (presumably) boss took orders and collected them, other service staff stood their ground. With a little reorganization everything could certainly go a little faster. Still recommended because the food tasted really good.

We ate here 3 times during our stay in Zingst. Every time the food and service were excellent. It was never a problem getting a table for 4 people (high season, evening). We can only thank you, we really enjoyed it.

Extremely positively surprised by the crane rest after us, for whatever reason?! have never stopped there in recent years. The fish in various variations is delicious, the portions are very digestible and the service is friendly and appreciative. We would love to come back.

Super nice staff and the fish platter was simply incredibly good! The price-performance ratio is right here! The restaurant is STILL very dog-friendly, but you should also keep your dog under control, which unfortunately only very few owners in Zingst (and in all other places) managed to do this summer. The owners of the constant barkers and the table feeders are welcome to feel addressed! 👍🏼😡 I hope this category doesn't completely ruin everything and you can still go there with your dog. We sat outside and felt very comfortable there, with our calm dog under the table. Thank you for the pleasant time and the friendly hospitality! We would like to come again! 😊

Unfortunately the portions are too small. Fish platter for 22 euros, very simple but tasty. Child (12) is nowhere near full, despite choosing a meal for 19 euros.

The star is only there to describe our dinner, there was a man at the counter who hadn't learned the words "good evening", etc. We were unlucky enough to have the oldest service person. When we asked if we could leave out the dill sauce, we got an unfriendly no. The candle wasn't allowed to be lit because of the high outside temperature (20°), I'm laughing my ass off. The beer was warm, the food wasn't as we ordered it. The train station character would have been improved. Anyone who wants really bad and unfriendly food is here exactly right. When we went out without a tip, my wife received a few nice words on the way because she mentioned the shortcomings. What do the Westphalians say? Too stupid as a person and too small as a pig.

You have to wait a long time for the food, but it's actually worth it.

Worst service ever! After registering for 3 people at the entrance, I was allowed to choose a table outside. After 2 minutes an unfriendly service person came and asked if I was alone and who would have allowed me to sit there since only full tables were accepted. After I explained that the family would be there within 10 minutes, the even more unfriendly service person came from the entrance again and asked me to leave because they had enough guests waiting in front of the door!? Anyone who treats guests with such arrogance should not be surprised if the guests stay away at some point!

We had a very nice waiter and the food was extremely good. We got a place with a dog right next to the pond. We were a little biased based on the negative reviews, but these have not been confirmed.

You can't reserve a table at the Kranihrast inn, so it can happen, as happened to us, that you have to wait a few minutes until you get a free seat. But it was really worth it, the food was delicious, the staff were also super nice and really friendly 😊

We were basically thrown out again when we entered because only two of five people were there to get the table. The other three people followed within the next ten minutes, which the staff greatly displeased, saying “then you can leave again”. The staff was very unfriendly and the food was sometimes lukewarm We have eaten there at least three times every year over the course of about 10 years, but this time we were very disappointed and will not visit this restaurant again.

What do you eat on the coast? Fish! And it's very tasty here. Everything fits and the price/performance ratio is also very good. We'll definitely see each other again 😃☀️

Zum Wohlfühlen gehören zwei Dinge. Gutes Essen sowie das Ambiente wie zum Beispiel ein schöner Tisch und freundliches Personal. Das erste trifft voll zu. Das können wir gerne bestätigen.Das Zweite ist eine totale Katastrophe. Eine Reservierung ist nicht möglich. (Aussage bei telefonischer Anfrage einer Reservierung) Beim Eintritt nach Aufruf (solange ist Warten vor der Türe angesagt) stehen auf allen Tischen Reservierungsschilder und man bekommt einen Tisch zugewiesen. Das bedeutet man wird „platziert“, eine frei Auswahl ist nicht möglich. Das ist verständlich, wenn die Gaststätte voll belegt ist. Allerdings darf man sich zu zweit auch nicht an einen Vierertisch setzen, selbst wenn das Lokal leer ist. Zwei Personen Zweiertisch Ende. Die sind jedoch so klein, dass das Essen mit Getränk fast nicht auf den Tisch passt. Angeboten wird die Terrasse (allerdings nur wenn die Gaststätte fast leerer ist) zur freien Tischauswahl. Aber wer möchte dort als Nichtraucher beim Essen zwischen Hunden zugequalmt werden? Zwei Damen, die gerne einen anderen Zweiertisch als den zugewiesenen gehabt hätten bekam von der Bedienung wörtlich gesagt :“ Entweder Sie nehmen diesen Tisch oder Sie können wieder gehen „ Die Damen haben sich für das Letzter entschieden. Die beiden weiblichen Bedienungen und der Chef müssten gemeinsam ein Seminar zum Umgang mit Gästen besuchen.Wir denken, die Zeiten in der Gastronomie haben sich so weit geändert um wissen zu müssen, dass das beste Essen den unfreundlichen und unzeitgemäßen Umgang mit Gästen nicht aufwiegen kann. Die Gastronomie lebt von den Gästen und nicht umgekehrt.

Waren 2x während unserem Urlaub zufriedene Gäste. Bekamen ohne Reservierung zur Hauptzeit jeweils einen schönen Tisch auf der Terrasse, trotz grossem Hund. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Die Speisen waren lecker, die Weinauswahl gut. Das Preis Leistungsverhältnis im Vergleich zu anderen Restaurants in Zingst sehr gut. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

The Kranihrast restaurant in Zingst is a recommended restaurant. Especially for lovers of fish dishes and those looking for a place with good service and a pleasant atmosphere.

The menu is a little more than just clear. Vegetarian dishes can be found as well as meat and fish dishes. The portions were quite large and everyone enjoyed it. I found it relatively expensive for what was offered. the service was a bit disappointing. When my partner asked if he could swap for another side dish, the answer was an ice-cold "no." In terms of the ambience, it seemed like it had been left somewhere in the 90s, but you sit nicely next to a mini pond.

We got a table for two people without a reservation. Super nice and attentive service. The food was very tasty. However, the waiting time was borderline. We forgive the kitchen because the restaurant was really busy.

We were there at rush hour in the evening. Then it's too hectic for us. There is still room for improvement in terms of taste. Vegetables were cold. But I immediately got a new portion of vegetables. It was then correspondingly warm.

Wir warteten über 20 Minuten und als wir eigentlich dran waren, holte die Platzanweiserin wiederholt nach uns Anstehende vor und ließ uns weiter stehen. Argument: nur Mehrpersonentische sind frei, wir Dreiergruppe müssten warten bis... Man hat den Eindruck, der Stellenwert der Tische geht dem der Gäste vor! Ungeeignete Bedienung infolge Personalmangels? Nie wieder Kranichrast!

Als ich die Gaststätte betrat, waren alle Tische im Aussenbereich und Innenbereich besetzt. Ich wartete noch auf meine Frau und fragte höflich nach zwei Plätzen und wann evtl. ein Tisch frei werden würde. Kurz angebunden und übelst gelaunt mit ekeligem Tonfall, bei so einem vollen Haus sehr unverständlich, vielleicht 15 bis 20 Minuten. Dann sagte ich, Ok , dann warte ich hier und hätte gerne schon einmal etwas zu trinken. Da standen einige Barhocker vor der Theke. Hätte eigentlich warten können. Antwort kurz und schnippisch: Bitte gehen sie vor die Tür und warten draußen. Also bitte. Nennt man so etwas Gastlichkeit? Auch wenn das Essen gut sein sollte, kann ich leider nicht weiter empfehlen. Hätte auch ungenügend+ gegeben. Schade das die Menschlichkeit auf der Strecke bleibt.

Food like in a 5-star restaurant. The whole thing in a beautiful old fisherman's house. Coincidentally, James Bond is in the background. Wonderfully gracious service. I love it. The prices are actually too cheap for the experience. Highly Recommended.

We spontaneously stopped by the Kranihrast inn and were very satisfied with everything - the food, the service and the beautifully landscaped garden/pond. The prices are quite expensive, but a visit is still recommended :)

The “Kranichrast” restaurant is located in the center of Zingst in a beautifully renovated half-timbered house with a pond. If the weather is nice, we recommend booking a table outside. We were there on a Tuesday in June and all the seats were full at 6 p.m. The daily recommendation (various fish fillets) and the zander fillet were very good with a pleasant portion size. The service was friendly but not intrusive. The man behind the tap (owner?) appeared to be “rough” and lacking in empathy towards guests entering. (A “Bollerkopf”) But that will only be crucial when the restaurant has to “fight” for guests.

The dishes are lovingly prepared and a real pleasure! For us it's a HOLIDAY :-)

Gusset was warm and stale, the 3 medallions as small as 5 mark pieces, sauce looked like jelly and no taste. Salad tasted like nothing. But the worst thing was the dark-haired waitress. Unfriendly from the start and when I said at the end that it wasn't tasty, she said we didn't have to come back. Don't worry, definitely never again! Never been served so badly.

The restaurant is a bit remote from the main street and is a real insider tip. The dishes are homemade, as are the fried potatoes (there are no frozen goods). The prices are reasonable for that. The restaurant makes a very clean impression and the service always has a smile on their faces. We were there on May 18th. back on site in the afternoon. This time, the female waiter was very abrupt and didn't make you feel welcome. The food was, however, very good. What was positive about the kitchen unfortunately remained a negative overall impression from the staff, which is a shame.

We ate here twice. Unfortunately, the owner is a bit unfriendly, but the woman in service from Thuringia makes everything right with her friendly manner. When we asked by phone whether a reservation was possible, we were rudely told that it wasn't possible. When we arrived at the restaurant, some tables were reserved. The food was simple but tasty. If you want to eat fish, this is the right place for you. However, if you're looking for elaborate sauces and side dishes, you'll have to go somewhere else. The portion size is absolutely ok and the price is reasonable. It's worth a visit.

We each had a matjes plate. The food was very tasty and the staff were all North German friendly. The ambience is that of a classic restaurant. Unfortunately there was no lactose-free milk for coffee drinks.
