My husband and I ate there for the first time based on a recommendation and it was incredibly tasty. We can only warmly recommend the rib eye steak and the turkey breast steak. And the service was also very friendly and accommodating. So all in all, definitely worth a visit.

Everything fine! The staff was very friendly, entertained us well and made us have fun with little things on the side, big compliments to the nice lady! The food - we tried three dishes - was consistently convincing, as we have always been used to. Great steaks 🥩, a delicious burger 🍔 and the veggie platter (garden potatoes) all tasted very good. The look of the restaurant is a real eye-catcher. It has its own charm, looks warm and inviting and at the same time like a typical rustic steakhouse. We had a great evening with the team. We would like to thank you for that!

So, it tastes just like you'd expect from the Block House, really delicious! The only thing I noticed about the Bergedorf Block House was that it was really crowded, and that was during the week. The atmosphere suffered as a result. The staff was very friendly but seemed stressed. Which is understandable given the crowds!

Very nice atmosphere and very pleasant staff, it's easy to sit outside but also stay inside. The burgers and the beer are a good balance from everyday life and a place of peace in the passage of Bergedorf. Always happy to be with you! 😇

Was here for the first time today. Food great, service great, ambience great. There's nothing to bet about.

I was back in the Block House after many years. Virtually nothing has changed on the menu, but the portions have become even smaller. The service is still top for me and the food tastes good. But the reason for not going to the Block House anymore has been confirmed. The price-performance ratio has simply not been right for a long time...

The food itself was excellent. However, we were treated extremely unfriendly by a waitress, while she served other white guests in a friendly and nice way. We were the only Asians in the restaurant and the difference in treatment was obvious - even though we wanted to order our food normally. I'll definitely never come here again. Edit: What an answer! Another guest also felt discriminated against in a Google review, and you gave exactly the same standard answer. The fact is: Your employee treated us badly - most likely because of our skin color! Instead of apologizing, you just give a canned answer. Train your employees! Are you really so sure that there is no discrimination?

The waitress didn't feel like serving us. The lady put the cards on the table without a word and walked away. At some point she came and asked what we would like, she placed the order and left without a word... (you don't always have to be in a good mood, but you should try to be friendly) She couldn't spoil the food because it was great

We've been eating there (Bergedorf) for years because the quality of the meat is very good and you could always rely on it! Our son only eats poultry, that was our problem!! So far the son has always been full. Recently a small turkey steak weighs 60g, you can get 2 pieces with fries for 16 euros!! I would like to note that this is not listed under children's plates!! The 160g rump steak costs the same, is made from beef and is certainly a lot more expensive to buy!! I would like to point out that we come from the catering industry and run our own restaurant, so I can't understand this at all! I would also like to note that after I made it clear that no adult would get fed up with this, the head waiter took this very professionally and referred this to the management! Of course the employees have to deal with it. However, it would be possible to specify a number of grams in the menu, so you would know what you are getting! Since the son only eats poultry, a visit to the Blockhouse, wherever, is no longer possible for us until further notice! Actually I would have only given 2 stars, since the head waiter only charged us for a children's plate after complaining, that's okay with me! The comment came that of course he couldn't always do that!

We were at the Block House Bergedorf again for some time today. Unfortunately we were disappointed. The steak we ordered was cooked to perfection, but unfortunately completely tasteless. If you look at the prices, there are clearly steakhouses that offer better quality meat.

Visited the Block House in Bergedorf (pedestrian zone) again at lunchtime! The good thing about it is that you know what you get for the money. However, it is and remains system catering with fast and consistent processes. After some soup, we ate the fitness pan. I would describe the quality as consistently good. The taste is very tasty, but the portions are relatively small. The side salad only has one slice of tomato and one slice of onion. Add a spoonful of diced tomatoes. Little pepper. The operation is professional and fast but also tailored to mass (quick runs). EC card payment possible. The interior is clean but a bit old. There are only a limited number of parking spaces available, otherwise use the parking lanes on the cross street. I would like to emphasize that this is my personal impression at the time of my visit. It provides an objective assessment without wanting to discredit the company or people.

As always, the food was delicious. Unfortunately, the service was poor. We always enjoyed family reunions there. We made a reservation for 6 people 4 weeks ago. This was confirmed by 2 recalls. On site they assigned us a table for 4. And after request, finally set up properly with additional chairs. Unfortunately, it wasn't until we left the restaurant that we noticed that the bill wasn't correct; some items were included that we didn't have. although we had pointed out to the service staff that something would have to be rebooked because they had forgotten something. This was then calculated. She was under pressure to get us away from our table. We had the information that we only had 2 hours, and that time was far from over. But every time the service was there we only asked strictly what we wanted. Unfortunately, the cutlery flew around when it was cleared away. So you can't treat customers like that. I had a classic burger but it had nothing to do with a burger! In addition, the meat somehow didn't taste fresh, despite pointing out that it was probably poor quality, the waitress didn't address it in any way. The whole restaurant looks very old-fashioned and in need of renovation. We were there for the first and last time. Price-performance is not justified.

Wanted fries, gave potatoes. Sauces and herbs butter were received after repeated requests. Service change female was more attentive. Eating out with the family is great, but we probably won't go to the Block Haus again.

I was ripped off by this establishment. They make up charges that are not listed on the menu to inflate the bill and even charge for items you didn’t order. On top of that, the meat is not very good — it’s probably old and overly seasoned.

My first visit to a Block House, and it was unexpectedly good. Friendly and courteous staff, the food was also very good.

The steaks were fantastically grilled to perfection and very well seasoned. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Only the tables are a bit small, but that would be a complaint on a high level. The fried mushrooms are also highly recommended.

Jim Block makes delicious burgers, the prices are still reasonable, although I don't think it's exactly a bargain to eat there. Parking nearby becomes very difficult, at least during the day. No long wart times and great location in the center of Bergedorf.

The place is really nice, looks like a village house and inside the atmosphere is also nice. The staff seemed like they just want to finish, so not much patience with the guests. The steak was delicious and well done and the fries very fresh. I was only disappointed with the french onion. It is just sautéed onions in a broth with some cheese on top. But nothing like the French onion soup.

Since we were very hungry, we ordered the Mr. Rumpsteak (250 g) with potatoes (my girlfriend with fries), Block House bread and salad. My girlfriend didn't want a salad. She wanted her steak well done and I wanted mine almost done. When the food came we were very surprised. The bread and potato on my plate were very small. My steak was almost cooked through as requested, but it was also quite small for 250g. It was the same with my girlfriend. However, without potatoes (as she requested). The fries were okay. However, her steak was not only small but also tough. We asked the waitress if they had made a mistake in the kitchen and had mistakenly given out Mrs. RUMP STEAK (180 g). This was answered with no. We have both known and visited the Bergedorfer Block House for more than 40 years and have always been very satisfied. We can also live with the prices. However, high prices also require a high level of quality. Unfortunately we missed this one. I actually wanted to complain straight away. However, my girlfriend wanted me not to do it. It would make her uncomfortable. So in the end we paid well and also gave a tip to the friendly staff. However, I won't be visiting this restaurant again for the time being.

I've been going to the Blockhouse for so many years. Always a safe address if I want top service, top food and that special atmosphere. And it's actually called-Never change a running system- But the food manager was on vacation in Scandinavia and came back with a strange recipe. The Italian classic Carpaccio with rocket and shaved Parmesan is served here with chopped radishes, cucumbers and dill. Sorry, but what went wrong? It doesn't work at all! When spoken to about it, the service is almost annoyed. I would have to say that if I didn't want radishes and cucumbers on it. Nooooooo!!!!! that doesn't belong there!!! In general, you had the feeling that the service was at its limit. Forget drinks, forget sour cream. Well....you used to apologize with a coffee or something similar. Today you pay for forgotten supplements and go on your way. It's a shame that such a change has taken place in around 40 years of eating out at Blockhouse. Oh yes... and if it's 25°C outside, you can release the chairs and tables or at least open the umbrellas. That just looks nicer.

I've been there several times. Very friendly staff. There are currently many outdoor tables under large umbrellas. The food is always very tasty. There is currently an additional menu for dishes with chanterelles to the normal menu.

We had dinner with friends who had their 5 year old daughter with them. The employee was extremely fond of children and that's just nice. We ate very well and felt comfortable.

Unfortunately they served the capaccio with cucumber, radishes and dill. There should be a maximum of arugula and parmesan on it. Then no sour cream was served and the drinks we ordered only came shortly before we paid!

I was (wanted to) go out to dinner with business friends in Bergedorf today. The weather was slightly overcast, a bit windy, cool. We entered the store and were asked to go outside in a friendly manner, but also with a hand gesture, and were escorted out. Please wait until we have a table available...! We didn't really want to be pushed outside because the woman who was with us was slightly cold. We were then informed that the space was needed for service people... We then decided not to enter this store anymore and went to the Italian restaurant next door. We were warmly welcomed here…

The food has been consistently good for almost 50 years. Was a regular guest in the opening year. The ambience in the restaurant is as classic and tip-top as it was 50 years ago. Afterwards we had a drink outside. Unfortunately it looks scary. The dandelions fit in the salad but not in the staircase between the stones to the restaurant. The railings were painted for the celebration, but the green covering on the walls and the weeds everywhere make the restaurant look run down. The toilets should be maintained regularly. Ikea is a role model.

The first service, a woman, was very unwilling and arrogant. The second, a man, was correct and polite. I ordered a pepper steak with side dishes. The pepper sauce was boring and didn't taste like pepper. I don't want to say the meat was tough, it somehow lacked the so-called melt. The vegetables were not seasoned at all. Cooking is different. Not recommended . I know much better places.

Visit as a tourist from the UK, very welcoming and the food is always delicious. Steak is amazing but a surprise favourite is always the American dressing on the salad. Baked potato is incredible. However, bare in mind that the Shandy on the UK drinks menu is not a Shandy like in UK. Its like a shot of wine!? A funny cultural education.

There was nothing going on. The service staff was very annoyed because my mother (85 years old) couldn't decide which main course she wanted to have. After the starter, the main course came and the plates from the starter were not cleared away. We also wanted new cutlery. That had to be fetched. We were not satisfied. We won't be returning.
