My first visit to Arizona Steak-House, Hamburg Yesterday was my first visit to Arizona Steak-House in Hamburg – and my impressions are mixed, but overall very positive if you know what you're getting into. First, the ambiance: The restaurant itself is rather simple and seems a bit dated. If you value a stylish or cozy atmosphere, you won't necessarily find it here. But then the food came – and it was truly amazing! I immediately ordered two fillet steaks, and both were excellently prepared: beautifully tender, juicy, and flavorful. You can tell that someone here knows their craft. A side salad comes with it for just €2.40, and the fillet itself costs a mere €14.90 – each, mind you. For this quality, that's an absolute bargain, especially in a city like Hamburg. Conclusion: If you're looking for a sophisticated atmosphere, this might not be the place for you. But if you want to enjoy a really good steak at extremely fair prices, you should definitely pay a visit to the Arizona Steak House. I'll definitely be back – and maybe even get three filets.

Super store prices like in 2010 and it tastes great, this combo is really awesome. Again and again

Only if the internal organization works. You make a special reservation by phone. Then you arrive on time and are told that there's no reservation and they don't know who's doing what.

We lived in the immediate neighborhood for years and visited several times a month. Now, 10 years later, the menu, the prices, and above all, the quality are unchanged! We still love coming whenever we're nearby and enjoy the incredible value. They didn't use a pandemic or supply chain excuse to reduce portions and double the prices. Unfortunately, this doesn't apply to the well-known, large Hamburg steakhouse chain. The service, much like the clientele these days, is very international and often makes little effort to be particularly friendly, but that's not what you're paying for. The food is usually delivered very quickly, even during peak hours. The ambiance could also use some modernization; especially in the back, it's often very gloomy. The lack of resources for this is understandable, given the pricing. tl;dr: The price-performance ratio is unparalleled and difficult to explain rationally, so you're happy to accept the compromises in service and ambiance. And you'll do it again and again.

As a French woman, I recommend you order the Entrecôte Medium Rare 🤤

This was my second visit to Arizona Steakhouse, and unfortunately, I wasn't satisfied with my steak this time. I had ordered medium-well, but the meat was very rare and significantly undercooked. Upon request, they recooked it, but unfortunately, it was too dry and tough – so overall, it wasn't a success. What further dampened the overall impression: The chef was quite moody that day and, at times, complained loudly to the service staff. This made the atmosphere a bit unpleasant. Overall, this visit was unfortunately not as impressive, even though everything else was fine. The service was attentive, but the food and the atmosphere in the kitchen dampened the experience.

As iconic and narrow as eating out 30 years ago

The visit was wild. We had reserved a table, but it wasn't available. We ended up sitting at a table with three strangers. The food is incredibly delicious for a truly bargain price. It's hard to have a conversation because of the noise, and you have to be comfortable cuddling while eating. All in all, though, I really enjoyed it.

Hey, I was there for the first time today. The food was excellent. They cater to your requests, and the service staff was amazing. My conclusion: I'd be happy to come back. I highly recommend it.

Waited 1.5 hours for a table, 1 hour for service and was continuously ignored. Didn't speak english at all. The prices are cheap but the service is infuriatingly bad.

If I could, I would give zero stars. After queuing for a long time, we were given a table that we then had to swap because the waiter forgot that it was reserved. When we got to the kitchen area, the waiter wanted to hand us over to the waitress who was in charge of the tables there. She was really annoyed and didn't want to serve us. Things then escalated loudly between the waiters with insults and shouting in front of all the guests, so the waitress quit on the spot and left. The boss got into an argument with the kitchen because the meat was just lying unrefrigerated on the work surface in the kitchen. Now for the food: I really had zero expectations for the price, but my steak arrived completely raw, so I had to return it. The second time, it was raw again, and I had to return it. The third time, the waiter put a lot of Béarnaise sauce on it, so you couldn't see the raw part, but half of the sauce was bloody. We'll never go to that store again; I'd rather spend more money.

Once and never again. They refused to accept a table reservation over the phone. Once we got there, we had to wait indefinitely on the street. We were seated at a wobbly table with two other groups right outside. Inside, it was dark and crowded. The steak wasn't medium, but well-done. The beer was flat and semi-cold. Yes, the price is reasonable. The place didn't have anything else to offer us. The waitress asked how much we wanted to pay and whether a tip was an option. We sat on folding chairs, the kind you see at large events.

I had no expectations for the restaurant, but I was still disappointed. I'm appalled. The health department should definitely take a look; the steak was tough. Disgusting!

This restaurant near Winterhuder Markt is probably Hamburg's cheapest steakhouse! I was last there over 20 years ago! I followed the recommendation to make a reservation, but unfortunately, they didn't have a reservation, which is a shame! We still got a table! The food is excellent value for money! I can't get a steak with baked potatoes and garlic bread any cheaper in Hamburg! I'd put up with the shabby atmosphere and the somewhat sloppy service at times! Highly recommended!

I'm actually a regular at Arizona Steak House because the meat is truly excellent and the prices are really reasonable. Unfortunately, there's an elderly lady serving there who is extremely unfriendly. A week ago, she got into a loud argument with some customers and then blew her nose right in front of us – completely uncalled for. I was there again on May 31, 2025. I came alone, already knew what I wanted to order, and politely said that I'd like a quick cigarette after ordering. Her reaction was rude: "No way!" – no explanation, no friendliness, just dismissal. When I asked why, I was ignored. Luckily, a young employee in a black shirt intervened and behaved very professionally – thanks to him! It's a shame that a single person can tarnish the otherwise very positive impression of the restaurant.

You get rudely treated if you don't tip as a student for mediocre food/service

Loved the food, loved the authentic vintage look of the restaurant. Our waitress was so nice and kind. Let me tell you my honest review about the steak: best one I have had so far in Hamburg!

We didn't have a reservation and stood in front of the door with about 15 people. No information. They just asked if we had a reservation. We ate somewhere else ☹️

Wir haben das Arizona Steak House unter der Woche zum Mittagessen besucht und waren rundum zufrieden. Beide Kellnerinnen waren sehr freundlich, kaum hatten wir Platz genommen, wurde uns die Speisenkarte gereicht (separate Mittagskarte auch vorhanden) und die Getränkebestellung aufgenommen. Wir wählten einmal das Hüftsteak und einmal das Filetsteak und die Garstufe "medium rare" wurde getroffen, das Fleisch schön zart, saftig und lecker, vielleicht etwas zu viel Salz, aber das ist immer Geschmackssache. Obwohl das Restaurant zur Mittagszeit sehr gut besucht war, kam unser Essen schnell, lange Wartezeiten gab es von der Bestellung bis zum Zahlen keine. Vom Ambiente her könnte das Restaurant eine kleine Verschönerung vertragen, deswegen gibt es nicht die volle Punktzahl, aber unser Fazit lautet auf alle Fälle: wenn wir wieder in Hamburg sind, kommen wir sehr gerne wieder.

I don't know what to say, but I'm at a loss for words. We waited in line and were asked at least six times if there were two of us. Then we were seated at a table and then had to get up and wait outside again for some inexplicable reason. A few minutes later, we were seated at the same table. When the food arrived, we received a well-done steak, even though we had ordered medium-well. We weren't given any cutlery or napkins. We had to ask for everything, and the waiters reacted annoyed and stressed. Sure, the prices are great, but the service was a complete disaster...

Price very cheap, ambience good, very ok.

The food is exceptionally good or reasonably priced. What bothered us about the service was that we were there at lunchtime. The phone rang for over half an hour. All the guests were annoyed. The waiter said it wasn't my job. The man at the bar looked away. So we had to enjoy our delicious steaks with the phone ringing loudly.

Unfortunately, I can only describe my experience with this service as absolutely disappointing. I tried to make a simple reservation for four people – and was assisted by an extremely rude and overwhelmed employee. During the phone call, information was repeatedly jumbled up and written down incorrectly. The phone call was simply hung up before the conversation was even properly concluded. When I called again to correct the incorrect information, I was literally harassed on the phone. The employee told me to think *what the hell* I was even thinking about calling again – he had more important things to do than "deal with something like that." Such disrespectful behavior is absolutely unacceptable to me. I never expected to be treated this way for a simple reservation. Professional and polite customer service should be a given – unfortunately, the complete opposite was the case here.

We have been guests here for over 30 years and neither the quality of the food nor the prices have changed, only the friendliness of the staff has gotten worse - Mihaela, however, is the honorable exception - always magical and friendly 👍

There's a reason why only dim candles are lit and no lights are on inside. So you can't see the dirt on the cutlery and plates. Horrible. The abnormally low prices don't justify the overall situation.

I've rarely seen such a miserable place! I can't recommend this restaurant to anyone because it's too stressful, dark, filthy, overcrowded, tasteless, disastrous, with unfriendly staff, a steak that tasted like a car tire, and a strange "bird" of a boss who wandered around the small, cramped place and harassed people into leaving as soon as they'd finished eating. It was very stressful the whole time because people were constantly bumping into people. Save yourselves the stress, pay a few euros more and go eat at a decent steakhouse!

We made a reservation at 7:15 p.m. At 7:05 p.m. we arrived at the store and let them know that we had a reservation. As soon as we entered, we were sent straight back out with the explanation "We have to wait." After that, an old man kept coming out to let people in one by one, regardless of whether they had a reservation or not. After 10 minutes in the cold, we were allowed in. The store is extremely dark and reminds us of a local pub, but rather creepy. After 5 minutes, someone came and gave us our menus. A nice lady quickly came and took our drinks. After 20 minutes and three times asking if we could order food, after we heard three times "The lady will do it," a man finally came. We were just about to place an order when he picked up a piece of paper from the table and just walked away... Disrespectful... The old man then came and took our order. The old man seemed a little forgetful. And to calculate his own prices. The staff are completely overwhelmed and the wait is ages. After half an hour the food finally arrived. I ordered a rump steak well done, but I got a steak medium. The steak was stringy and gristly, even the penny steaks were better. I definitely didn't eat it. The baked potato was also dead and burnt. My boyfriend ordered his rump steak medium well, and he got it rare - disgusting. He has never left meat lying around, but this time his plate was half full. When we were finished, we wanted to order a shot. We told the waiter so. After 15 minutes we asked someone for the bill because we just wanted to get out of the stuffy, noisy place. After 20 minutes we got the bill, and it was incorrect. That has nothing to do with value for money.

The prices are far too low for what you get, because the food is really tasty and the steaks are very good. So how can you still make a profit? It's only through quantity. That's why the place is packed with seating, which can also consist of folding chairs. So you sit close together, often bumping into each other in the aisle. We were lucky to have a lovely server who served us wonderfully and also gave directions to other servers. The decor is very worn, some of the plates were chipped, and the restrooms were very, very old and moderately clean (no wonder, given the number of guests). We had a reservation, but I'm not sure if you even need one. In any case, they don't ask for your name. So you say, "Yes, we have a reservation," then you just get a "How many people?" and you're seated. Conclusion: As good as the food is, we won't be back. We wish there was more peace and quiet while eating and a more pleasant atmosphere.

Top steakhouse. Friendly service, extremely good value for money.

The food was quite good, but the service was terrible. I ordered the meat medium-rare and it was almost raw. And it was too dark.

Probably the best steakhouse with value for money in Hamburg. Absolutely amazing.

If you want a good steak at a reasonable price, this is the place for you! We've been coming here for years and have never been disappointed :) Reservations are difficult, but for that price, you can easily wait a few minutes outside.

The chef is super sweet and friendly, great value for money. 300g entrecote 16€ with baked potato and herb baugette. I also had a small salad and mushrooms. Super tasty. I would recommend it to everyone.

I actually like going there, but unfortunately, our order was forgotten, so we didn't get any potatoes, while the table after us got some. The sharp Tedi knives are a plus.

So far everything was good, except for the waiting time until you could order. That was just too long. But the food was very, very good!!!!

Rarely laughed so much. Sure, it's cheap, but so is the quality. The ambience is virtually non-existent and the service was completely overwhelmed. We were brought 3x drinks that we didn't order. The portions are extremely clear and that's probably why it's so cheap. Okay, the starter was pretty good. We're definitely not coming back. And conclusion: if you eat cheaply, you eat twice

We had reserved a table but the owners probably mean something different by reservation. We had to wait outside (about 30 minutes) until we got a suitable table. Then another 20 minutes until we could order something. It was extremely loud and the toilets are not worthy of being called toilets. The steak can't be beaten for the price, but it doesn't have to be beautifully presented. It seems as if you just deal with it quickly and the wild ride continues. I wouldn't recommend it, especially if you're traveling from further away.

Disappointing visit despite early reservation We made reservations over a week in advance for 9 people, including three very elderly family members over 85 years old. It was all the more disappointing that we had to wait over 30 minutes upon arrival - without a place to sit or a proper explanation. What was particularly outrageous was that my grandfather was briefly thrown out of the restaurant and put back in front of the door - again without any apparent reason or communication from the staff. Something like this is completely unacceptable, especially when older people are involved. In our experience so far, the food is good - we had positive impressions on a previous visit - but unfortunately we weren't able to try it that day. After the long wait and the poor treatment, we were forced to leave because the older people could no longer stand. We definitely won't be coming back.

I was at the restaurant today with my family and our two month old baby in a stroller. Despite waiting for a long time in front of the entrance, we were completely ignored. Only after a long time did he say – without any friendliness – “Can you bend it?” and obviously meant our stroller. No hello, no explanation, no hint that things will be difficult with a stroller. Instead they just made us wait, only to be told there was no room. I calmly explained that I had been there last week with the same stroller - no problems. The waiter reacted dismissively and asked in a sharp tone: “How long do you want to stay?” As if it were a burden that we wanted to eat. Then came the suggestion that we leave the stroller in the front and sit in the back - absolutely unacceptable with a newborn! We felt unwelcome, treated disrespectfully and literally deported. That's not how you treat guests.

Been there again for a long time. It's still very tasty and at such a reasonable price. Worth seeing.

This is the second time we've been to Arizona, what can I say, if you want to eat a steak quickly, don't care about the ambience (dark hole), and want to be served by waitresses who have absolutely no desire to work, this is the place for you. This time we sat near the kitchen, we shouldn't have done that. I've seen a lot, but what I saw couldn't be described in words. I decided that this visit would be the last. Dear people, spend a few euros more and get decent steaks and quality. I've always wondered how Arizona manages to offer such prices. The large salad was an absolute disaster! Wilted, old iceberg lettuce with Thousand Island Dressing from the 5 liter from Metro. The steak is as thin as a shoe sole – prepared without love or passion. And the highlight is the worst service I have ever experienced. I felt like I was in one of those Karen Diners :) The service staff are listless, rude and inattentive. The atmosphere in the restaurant is creepy. The plastic chairs and worn out furnishings aren't really inviting. Once and never again!

The two of us had dinner at Arizona today. After our steaks were brought we were not offered the usual pepper mill service. Rather, the waitress left us alone. She didn't respond to our signals that she should come to the table. When she finally came to us she was rude and annoyed. We pointed out a missing detail, which was then grumpily corrected. We still didn't get any pepper. It had now been at least eight minutes since we had our steaks delivered to the table. When we asked again, the older, dark-haired waitress shouted at us and called us impatient. I have been a guest in Arizona for over ten years and have never been treated so rudely. That was a real disgrace for Arizona. If I ever go out to eat there again, it will only be if it is certain that this unfriendly and rude waitress is not on duty.

Reservations for 7 people were easily made by phone a few days in advance. Nice service, food came quickly. You can't complain about the prices. Price performance top. Recommended.

We ate well and cheaply, if you still wait with a reservation and if it is very, very warm in the back area. You can get steaks here and you can tell from the audience: the density of male visitors is high 😃

You young waitresses are really sweet and provide good service and welcomed us very warmly. We sat in the back and there was a really very rude and unpleasant waitress, older, black hair. She provided by far the worst service we have ever experienced. No request for drinks, food wasn't brought, then it finally came and was wrong even though we had pointed out twice how we wanted it. Everyone has a bad day, but she tops them all. The food is good as usual.

The food here was great and there's no need to talk about the cheap prices. The staff is also friendly and you can quickly get a seat here without making a reservation. Unfortunately, one star was deducted because, although it was quite cool outside, it was far too warm inside. At the end I sat there in a t-shirt and the sweat still ran down all over me and my girlfriend.

The main course was delicious, but unfortunately I had shards of glass in my dessert, which I probably swallowed before I noticed it. In response, the food was simply replaced, but that was the end of it for me anyway. The service sometimes took far too long and didn't respond to requests. It was most likely an isolated incident, but unfortunately the reaction was not satisfactory. If this results in medical costs, I will contact the restaurant again.

I like this place, overall it was good and the price was cheap compared with another steakhouse in Hamburg.

It was my first time here after several recommendations from my friends. Very well attended. The food is really amazing for the price! So you really have fun going out to eat in the evening. Tender, delicious meat in a rustic atmosphere. Drinks at great prices too. I will come back more often from now on. Thanks to the owner - who still helps out diligently and doesn't skyrocket the prices (although he could)

The price is very reasonable. You can't find anywhere else with better steaks than here.

Brilliant, super tasty and at prices like back in the day

I will NEVER recommend this restaurant! NO! The waitress was extremely indifferent to us, offering no service at all but forcing us to pay at least 7% service charge. We wanted to leave and the manager asked us to stay, but he was on the phone the whole time (this older manager actually touched my girlfriend's back and squeezed her neck while he was talking to us! Very creepy! Clearly obscene!), and we kept getting chased away by other employees in the store, so we explained that the manager wanted us to stay, but they kept saying "Go home!" Because we were foreigners, they even “considerately” changed the answer to English and said: “Go back to your home!”

Can't complain for the price. In some cases, for example, cups were broken, steak knives were loose, etc. That could definitely be improved. You should also bring your waiting time with you.

Extremely cheap steak restaurant. I've never eaten steak so cheaply before, it was almost surreally cheap. The taste of the food was also very good, there was a large selection! Have reserved in advance. Arrive 10 minutes before reservation to see a huge queue in front of the restaurant. Surely they haven't made a reservation and are hoping to get a spot? Incorrect. Everyone seemed to have reservations. The restaurant was completely overbooked. After waiting outside for 45 minutes, we were finally invited in. The three of us were given a table for 1-2 people. This was then added to a group of strangers to create even more space in this narrow and completely darkened restaurant. By the way, the chairs were uncomfortable folding chairs. It was incredibly loud and the service staff were overwhelmed with everything. No wonder with so many guests in such a small space. The menu is rather cheap. The food is OK. However, I would prefer €10 per person. Pay more in a nice atmosphere with trained and friendly staff. When we left to tell the owner that we were dissatisfied, he became violent and loud. Heard from other guests that it's always like that here...

Best Steakhouse in Hamburg. Period. High quality at affordable prices. There is waiting time at entrance because you can't really book. But it worth's the time you wait. My recommendation are the 2 filets. I am eating here regularly once a month. :)

Everything was great – the food, atmosphere and service at the table were top. Unfortunately there was a problem at the entrance. The employee should have paid more attention to who got there first. There were four of us and we were only allowed in after two larger groups of 7-9 people and several others, even though we were there much earlier. A few days before we asked if it was possible to make a reservation and were told that wasn't possible - just show up. It was all the more annoying when guests who thought they had reserved were let in before us. That was disappointing. Otherwise it was a nice visit.

Was here for the 2nd time now. Despite a reservation, we waited in line for almost 30 minutes. The crowd has changed a lot since my last visit 3 years ago. Now over half of the guests were there with gym bags and coming from the gym. The steaks are cheap and the incredibly good quality back then had also disappeared. The charm is gone, the quality has suffered, the service was impersonal and too jostling due to the many guests. Unfortunately, it is very likely that there will not be a third visit. Good luck!

I can understand if some people criticize the service or the ambience. But given the prices you have to give 5 stars. I think you get the steak with the best P/L ratio in all of Germany here!

My entrecote was torn apart. That's not a steak. Complaints were not possible. I didn't want to leave a tip (see my steak) but the waitress asked what I should enter. Then gave a 10% tip and neither a thank you nor a goodbye. My colleague's steak looked good, but he had sirloin steak. Second chances still come.

You have to like it. Price-performance is top. But you sit super tight and the guests are “flowed through”. We were asked twice if we could leave now because there were so many guests waiting outside (just after dinner). Still 4 stars because the food was great.

We spontaneously had something to eat here and what can I say, everything was extremely good! I had the salmon steak and it was great! Portions are really big too! Unbeatable for the price!

We ordered a bottle of sparkling water and were shocked to find that this water had already been served at the neighboring table. The glasses were not exchanged. At the same time as the drinks we ordered the food. An hour passed before it was noticed that the food order never reached the kitchen. It didn't take long for the food to arrive for the first time, but the meat was still so raw that we asked to grill it again (we had ordered medium), the meat was still far from medium, so we asked to put it on the grill again. The waiter then replied “that’s what medium is for us, it’s not like blockhouse”, the third time the meat was good and it was even very tender. The croquettes were good too. Now we wanted to pay, all separately. One bill was €20.10 and was supposed to be paid in cash. When we looked for the 10 cents, the waiter said “that's fine” and turned around and left without saying goodbye, as if that had made up for the terrible service.

A visit I would like to forget. Even the start was disappointing: We stood around for 10 minutes without anyone being interested in us - no welcome, no notice, just ignored. When we finally got a seat, it was right on the aisle, squeezed between other tables that were so close that you couldn't help but overhear every conversation. Privacy? None. The entire atmosphere was a disaster: cramped, loud, hectic. The light flickered annoyingly and occasionally went out completely - as if you were sitting in a storage room. Music was either non-existent or suddenly so loud that you had to shout at each other. The staff seemed completely overwhelmed and chaotic. Instead of pleasant service, you got loud shouts and confusion - definitely not a relaxed atmosphere. And the food? Simply bad for a steak restaurant. The meat was tough, barely seasoned, and the side dishes were slapped on carelessly. Overall, an absolutely disappointing visit. Never again.

I love this place. Very cost and the service is great.
