As always, very, very tasty! At the beginning, despite having a reservation, we had to wait a few minutes on the stairs, where it was very narrow and a bit awkward. The employees were very friendly. Unfortunately, it is always relatively loud at Blockhouse, so you can only carry on conversations to a limited extent, but this is always the case in all branches. Therefore only 3 stars for the ambience, but it is very comfortably furnished! We will come again.

I wasn't full. With a simple steak for just under €30, I would have liked to have at least had the plate somewhat filled with side dishes... In addition, the large steak was indistinguishable from the smaller, cheaper one. - not even from the waiter himself. Beer was reordered and not brought. Was then subsequently corrected on the invoice. It can happen but there really is a better way. Maybe someone will read it before the recession is deleted.

I was there yesterday with my family and we celebrated my little daughter's birthday! The service was unbeatable, the whole team went out of their way to provide our children with everything they could want. From a little fire show at the grill to little comforters because sitting is so incredibly boring 👀 The waiter was just an absolute dream! He has definitely played the game “Gastro” 10 times and has provided great customer service! It felt like you had been coming for ages!

The restaurant is very tastefully furnished, but fits the concept. The service was good. I ordered a fillet steak. The price of the steaks includes a baked potato and bread as standard. Since I didn't want to eat potatoes, I asked to swap the potatoes for grilled vegetables, which the service lady said was possible "for a small extra charge." Later on the bill the “small extra charge” was the full additional price for grilled vegetables. So you save the potato and earn extra money. I would have no objection at all to an additional charge of 1.00 or 2.00 euros as a service fee, but adding the full price of 4.50 euros is unbeatable in terms of audacity and greed. That's it for Block House. The meat was very good, the vegetables were very fatty, and the overall price was excessive.

We felt very comfortable. Super friendly and attentive service staff. Rustic ambience as befits a steakhouse. As for the steak, it was as ordered and tasted excellent. Thank you, we'll be back.

The Block House in Barmbek, located right on the main street, offers a great dining experience. The restaurant is on the first floor and can be easily reached via stairs or by elevator. As soon as you enter the restaurant you feel at home. The conservative decor creates a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a relaxing afternoon or evening. Service: The service was outstanding. The waitress who served us was extremely friendly, courteous and always attentive. Her warm manner and charming smile made us feel welcome and in good hands. The order was taken quickly and professionally, so we could fully look forward to the meal. Eat: The highlight of our visit was the T-bone steak. With a proud weight of 610 grams, it was grilled to a perfect medium. The steak was wonderfully juicy, excellently seasoned and a real treat. The side dishes also tasted excellent and rounded off the main course perfectly. It was clearly noticeable that emphasis was placed on high-quality ingredients and careful preparation. Conclusion: Our visit to the Block House in Barmbek was a complete success. The combination of a pleasant atmosphere, first-class service and delicious food makes this restaurant an excellent address for steak lovers. We really enjoyed the afternoon and are already looking forward to our next visit.

A bit outdated. Meat was great grilled. The service was nice and attentive. More for nostalgics who still know the Blockhouse from its glory days. But I recommend Jim Block Burger, everything is just right.

My review concerns the Blockhouse Barmbek. My goodness, what a failure. Mr. Rumpsteck delivered, got MS Rumsteak. The waitress would have brought me a new steak, but actually I would have had to give the whole meal back! Wrong steak? OK, it can happen. The potato was so old that it was dry on the outside and brown and partly hard on the inside. I find it outrageous that something like this is put on the plate. I was back on the road after 15 minutes, still hungry but at 26!!! Euro poorer. The portions do not match the price in any way. The only bright spot was a friendly waitress. Blockhouse? You don't have to go there anymore.

After asking the waiter for medium rare, I saw the meat being rinsed under cold water and put back in the pan! HORRIBLE! I rejected that and got a new one with the desired degree of doneness without any problems. But really, what's the point of something like that; The store was well attended and overall we can recommend it. But the best times are over here too. Mainly old crowd and a few younger ones from the culture of the surrounding fitness studios, with bad table manners.

The managing director is very young, uninterested in customers, conversations with private individuals are more important to her than serving her guests, we go to all the log cabins in Germany but we have never experienced anything like this. It started when we ordered, people forgot to put even onions on the salad after requesting, no onions, no herb butter, then finally another waitress, we got everything. This log house is not recommended.

Everything was great, the food was great, the staff was extremely polite, very child-friendly... for birthday children "happy birthday" and a little surprise. I would like to see more consideration for our environment.

We visited our son in Hamburg at the weekend and ate here. Totally great service and the food was really good quality. We had a nice table with a view of the kitchen. We'll definitely be back next year and are already looking forward to it.

The Blockhous is located directly on a main road, but you don't notice much of it because the restaurant is on the first floor. The service is super friendly and attentive, the food was prepared quickly and deliciously and the drinks and dessert also came quickly and were superbly prepared. It's worth stopping here and having a delicious meal. We'll be back.

Die Steaks sollen gut gewesen sein,meiner "Frikadelle" fehlte das Brötchen,ich wurde nicht darauf hingewiesen,das es im Blockhouse Barmbek mode ist den Burger ohne Brötchen und ohne Salat usw. zu servieren. Muß die Bedienung Umsatz machen,den noch während das Geschirr abgeräumt wurde ,wurde uns die Dessertkarte auf den Tisch gelegt.

The kitchen has EXTREMELY deteriorated. On my last 3 visits the steak was NEVER what I ordered. Maybe ask your colleagues at Jungfernstieg how to grill a steak medium rare. You can already say “Extremely well done”...

What can you say? For about 30 years I have enjoyed ordering a steak locally to take home. Happens about 6-7 times a year. English Grilled. Today I was told at the Blockhaus Barmbek that I couldn't get my grilled steak to take away. According to a law, raw meat cannot be taken out of the house. Hey, and the last 30 years? Anyone who goes to the Block House knows in advance what they can expect and what they will get. The Fuhle with outdoor dining was new for me (I hadn't been to the Fuhle for a long time). Food was OK - Block House - quality, service also O.K.

Been here for dinner twice in 3 days of business trip. Experienced inside as well as outside. Quiet and cozy inside, “street view” outside, which also has something special. I usually go to the Dorotheenstrasse restaurant but I was around and wanted to try. Food was great as usual. Service could have been better this day. I had to repeat myself three times and still got the wrong order. It would be great if the service would repeat the order to confirm.

We were there with three families and four small children. Spanish, German and English speaking. A real challenge. Our waiter remained super relaxed and everything worked out great. The children were able to move around and no one complained. Thank you. Of course, the food was great as always. 👍

The portions are really small, so as a woman I can't get enough. I have to say that we actually tend to go to Block House in Barmbek, where the portions are not as small as in Bergedorf. We ate there with a small child on July 6th, 2024. We asked for 2-3 slices of cucumber for the toddler, with the intention of paying for them, of course, but the fact that we were charged a complete block of house salad for €5.40 is an absolute disgrace. I come from the catering industry myself. I would have served the cucumber slices for free, but even if I hadn't, I would never have charged a full salad for it. Unfortunately I only noticed this when I got home on the bill. I can't condone such a rip-off from a highly praised chain, there are much smaller steakhouses that put more heart and soul into the service!

I was there a few weeks ago on a Sunday afternoon and thought, since I'm on a short vacation, I'll treat myself to a fillet steak for once, and if so, then from the "experts" Blockhouse. It was ok, but nothing more, if anything less. Maybe I shouldn't have ordered the steak medium, but rather well done. It wasn't really hot, the baked potato and salad that came with it could have been a little more for the now very high price. Service and ambience top. The next Blockhouse visit is estimated to be in 4 years.

Very nice atmosphere, delicious food, very attentive and very polite staff. I was very positively impressed. Everything exemplary. Here, emphasis is still placed on training the staff in etiquette. The steak was of course delicious and excellently prepared (medium well). Definitely worth a visit. There were three of us and we had two steaks, a bowl, bruschetta, and ice cream for dessert. You should expect a little over €100 for three people.

Yesterday we had dinner at the Block House again after a long time. As usual, the food was of great quality and tasted great. Good meat, salad, garlic bread and potatoes or fries make you full and satisfied. I would particularly like to praise our table service. Extremely friendly, always asking about our satisfaction and our wishes without seeming fake or being exaggerated. We felt very comfortable and can highly recommend this block house!

On the second attempt, my steak was cooked the way I wanted it and it was very tasty. However, last time I was very shocked by the new prices. Last time I paid €24.50 for my steak. Now it's over €30. Such a large increase is incomprehensible and I cannot and do not want to pay these prices again. We won't be coming back for the time being, because for the price, the service isn't enough. We celebrated my grandma's birthday with the family at the Block House. The food was very good! What is particularly worth highlighting is the service: we were there with 2 small children. Everyone was very friendly to the children, there was something to paint, the children got their food first and at the end there were even soap bubbles. A birthday song was played for my grandma, there was champagne and one of the waiters took a photo of us, printed it out and my grandma was able to take it home with her. Many thanks to the entire Block House team for this great day!

Update April 20, 2024: After a very friendly and helpful phone call with the head office, we dared to make another visit today. The service today was really good - despite the house being full and the manager herself took good care of us. The quality of the food couldn't be faulted. Update March 9, 2024: DISAPPOINTING! After prices have risen incredibly in the last 12 months, portions are getting smaller linearly. Unfortunately, today there is also the outrageous service. The waitress blamed us for an error in the kitchen as an order error. Of course...the customer who pays the price is always to blame first. Incomprehensible. It's unfortunate that Block is no longer committed to making customers happy. Excellent Corona controls, great service and outstanding food on New Year's Eve. Despite the time limit, you didn't feel rushed.

Today, April 17, 2024 12:30 p.m. Lunch, rump steak, mushroom sauce, baked potato, in front of it a salad plate with Frensch dressing. Coffee afterwards. Today was the PERFECTION you could ever wish for; including service. Note: Not every lunch menu gets full marks, today definitely. Tip to the Blockhaus superiors. Please pay attention to the steak toppings. The perfection is/would be EXCLUSIVELY: Spinach or beans or mushrooms. My second time in Block House but this time in another part of Hamburg. Just to see is all are the same quality and experience. Agnus Steak asked medium and medium I recived, little bit needed to solt it but it was overall good. Corn to sweet, sallad perfect juicy and fresh, nice dressing. Baked potato dry, it was maybe too long stayed warmed up, not possible to bake this huge potato in 5 minutes. Service was fast, polite and charming.

The restaurant makes a neat, tidy impression. The typical block house ambience invites you to enjoy the beef specialties. The service is attentive, friendly and of course dressed accurately in TOP uniforms. I was absolutely impressed by the service employee as he poured the beer into the glass. Elegant, perfect and with a professionalism that I have never seen before. 5 ⭐️ for the young man. Beforehand I ate carrot and ginger soup. Served hot with fresh carrot and ginger flavors and fresh parsley. For the soup 5⭐️ in advance. For steak, I ordered an Irish Hereford entrecote with French fries and a fresh mixed salad with American dressing. The salad, extremely fresh with a subtle tarragon note. Fries super freshly fried, hot and crispy. The garlic baguette is also crispy, with a not too strong garlic note. I ordered the steak, medium rare, i.e. 53/54 degrees core temperature. Perfectly fried in advance, even completely without a gray edge, 5⭐️ for the grill master, grilled to perfection. Not everyone can do that. Distinct but not bitter roasted aromas. Very fine, yet intense fresh beef flavor. Almost too little fat for an entrecote, but appropriate for the breed. Still tender in texture, juicy, pleasant to the bite. Typical Irish Hereford beef. In my opinion, one of the best cattle breeds. Finally, a freshly baked Belgian waffle with hot cherries and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Also very, very tasty. Our favorite place to go is the Block House. Not so loud and great hot food

As usual, the atmosphere was nice, the food was perfectly fine, but unfortunately the service was non-existent. With three children, the first contact and drinks at the table only took place after 20 minutes (with less than 50% occupancy), no questions were asked, we even had dessert, the bill only came after we had all gotten up and dressed. A pity.

As usual at Block House Barmbek, very warm welcome, good table by the window. The food & drinks were good as expected (a large Pilsner on the menu would be great). We know what to expect and that's exactly why we like going to the Block House. Everything is becoming more expensive, and the employees can't help the tax increase, even if Eugen has enough in his pocket. We'll be back because of the good food, great team and good service!

The food is really good, but the price-performance ratio is not good at all. When, in addition to a mediocrely motivated waitress, the next generation of young people shouts their opinion to me without being asked from one of the many neighboring daycare tables, this very special atmosphere (and that leads to devaluation) doesn't really fit in with the 30-40 euros I spend You can shell out for a steak - without getting really full on top of everything else. But the few times I still feel uncomfortable in the Blockhouse, at least it tastes good. Anyway.

We answered honestly when asked how the food was. Apparently we didn't like the answer or the two nos that we didn't want coffee. Afterwards we were ignored and there was no question as to whether we would like to drink anything else. It was better for two people to take care of other guests. The quality is no longer what I was used to years ago. That was our last visit.

First the positive, The ambience was very nice and the service was very good. Even if it was a bit intrusive and you could tell that the service staff tried to get every cent more out of the customers. (even if it's irrelevant, the toilet paper feels like it's single-layered, which is why I deducted a star from Ambiente) Now unfortunately the negative, Me and my girlfriend wanted to go out for a nice meal, so we thought this would be the place to go. In addition to the drinks, we ordered 1x Mrs. rump steak, 1x chicken thigh, and desserts. Portion sizes are medium to small. We were actually still full from lunch 4 hours earlier. But after our visit, in the end it was the drinks that caused a slight feeling of fullness in the stomach, not the food. (So ​​if you prefer small portions or want to pretend on a date, then ideal) Unfortunately, the food had already cooled down completely after 30 seconds. Potato gratin tasted like a microwave ready meal (at this point I would like to recommend the Kaufland own brand, it tastes better) And of course this is just a side dish and is not the highlight of the kitchen in terms of taste, but it should taste better than what it does in the microwave. Unfortunately, the potato gratin and the baked potato also had a slightly fermented taste. The rump steak was tough and the garlic bread was also relatively dry. (Unfortunately, you could also overhear unpleasant conversations between the employees, e.g. that the service staff rarely/not at all share your tips because they earn less. (It was very unpleasantly told to the colleague by the kitchen staff) Or the cook, whatever acted like a little child just because something was apparently left untidy. As a customer you don't have to notice something like that) I think it's obvious but unfortunately the evening wasn't really satisfactory. We thought of countless things that unfortunately weren't so good but could have been improved, especially in terms of price/performance. Unfortunately, especially for €75 for two people, the whole evening was a disappointment. And I can't recommend it :(

Wir waren mit acht Personen am ersten Weihnachtsfeiertag vor Ort und ich kann nur in aller Deutlichkeit sagen, dass wir dieses Restaurant nicht wieder betreten werden. Wir mussten lange unten im Eingangsbereich warten und wussten nicht warum. Keine Information trotz Kleinkind auf dem Arm. Nachdem man dann die schlechte Kommunikation angesprochen hat wurde der Einweiser pampig und unfreundlich. Wir wurden dann an einen Tisch für sechs Personen gesetzt. Wir hatten lange im Vorwege reserviert und merkten an, dass der Tisch zu klein sein. Die einzige und absolut freche Reaktion war lediglich, dass wir auch gerne wieder gehen dürfen. Anweiser und anscheinend auch der Restaurantleiter sind an Unfreundlichkeit und Unprofessionalität nicht zu übertreffen. Das gesamte restliche Personal war jedoch überaus freundlich, zuvorkommend und kompetent. Auch die Küche war spitze!

Wie immer eine gute Wahl für Steaks.

Ich war ca. 15 Jahre nicht mehr im Block House. Toll, dass Neujahr geöffnet war. Eines der wenigen Lokale. Der Salat ist viel bunter geworden und schmeckte superlecker mit dem Italiendressing. Das irische Dry Age Steak war supersaftig und echt ein Unterschied zum normalen Steak. Was ich vermisst habe waren ein Teelöffel für die Kartoffel, weil man den Inhalt mit Gabel nicht gut heraus bekommt. Zudem scheint es, keine Steakmesser mehr zu geben. Vielleicht ja nur auf Nachfrage. Deshalb nur 4 Sterne.

Es passt einfach alles zusammen. Ein sehr aufmerksames Serviceteam und dabei diskret und nicht aufdringlich. Essen einfach eine top Qualität. Alles super. Gerne wieder.

Sehr gutes Essen und schnelle Bedienung

Wir wurden von Darin letzten Samstag ganz aufmerksam und sehr freundlich bedient und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Essen war auch wirklich super. Wir waren sehr zufrieden.

Preis Leistung gefällt mir bei 70% der Gerichte nicht. Geschmacklich etwas flach, dennoch akzeptabel. Kellner hektisch und Chef springt herum, unterhält sich fast brüllend mit Gästen. Aus all dem entsteht ein unangenehmes Ambiente. Schade.

Leider hat uns heute die Servicekraft hier die Freude verdorben: Nach einem guten Essen wollten wir noch einen Nachtisch bestellen. Die Servicekraft war nur leider zu sehr in ein Gespräch mit den einzigen anderen Kunden vertieft und ignorierte uns für gute 15 Minuten konsequent. Zwischendurch holte sie sogar ihr Smartphone heraus und zeigte den Kunden Bilder darauf. Das geht so nicht... Auch das lautstarke Lästern über andere KundInnnen muss nicht sein. Wir suchen uns eine andere Filiale.

Wir haben dort Geburtstag gefeiert. Es war ganz toll, mega freundliche und sehr aufmerksame Bedienung. Das letzte Mal waren wir im Block House Poppenbüttel und Mega enttäuscht weil es total überbucht und das ganze Team total überfordert war. Aber hier war alles fein. Vielleicht wird das jetzt unser neues Stamm Block House 😊

Kleines süßes Steakhouse extrem nette Bedienung Essen immer gleich lecker leider bringt mir das Personal oft das Essen ohne Besteck(ich finde es witzig) im Blockhaus mit den Händen essen macht den Besuch gleich spannender. Die Toiletten brauchen mal eine Grundreinigung und etwas Farbe für die Türrahmen. Im Außenbereich fehlt leider ein Sichtschutz.

Das Essen hätte besser sein können. Meine Bowl hätte etwas mehr Wums vertragen. Die das Gericht mit der Gänse Keule war für 26 Euro viel zu wenig. Dafür wird aber alles teurer. Das Ambiente hat sich seit gefühlten 50 Jahren nicht geändert. Schade, es war mal eine gute Restaurant Kette.

Ich gehe einmal im Monat insBlockHouse. Der Service und das Personal ist dort sehr freundlich. Essen ist dort sehr gut. Kann ich nur empfehlen dort mal einzukehren. Komme immer gerne zu ihnen.
