We checked on Google what the availability/occupancy was on Friday evening around 6:15 p.m. So not much. So as a “drop in” we were lucky to get a place for 2 people. First big show stopper: We're told we can only stay until 7:30 p.m. Unfortunately, the service was quite short. When the food came and we complained that the food was only "lukewarm", the waitress acted stupid, as if she didn't understand what we meant. She always answered: Is it freshly made, not yesterday? Not from yesterday??? I'm sorry, what? From then on, the friendliness was all the way through. When we asked again at 7:10 p.m. for the menu for a dessert, which we got from the waiter, the waitress immediately took the menu away from us and told us that our time was over and we couldn't order any more dessert. It's really a shame, but this restaurant doesn't seem to need it. Finally, something positive: The food was very good (although unfortunately not completely hot). The cocktails were also very good. Service however terrible.

Apparently you do a reservation , but they can decide not to respect it and also not let you know in advance, and then only tell you “oh so sorry, but we are full already, so sorry” Hate this kind of service …

Very nice ambience and pleasant service, an oasis of well-being!

There are mice in the store!!! Only after complaining several times did the boss come and put a €5 note on the table as “compensation”. As a customer you are asked to give 5* ratings by being enticed with gifts and a mango schnapps. The food was acceptable. What you could actually expect from a cheaper snack bar. The drinks were good, although not really cold.

Everything is great. From the in-house lemonade, to starters and main courses, to the service. I can fully recommend Jacks.

We made a reservation here based on the positive reviews and were horrified. There are so many excellent Vietnamese restaurants in Munich and we took the above-average prices and reviews as a guarantee of above-average quality and style. My meal (vegetarian for 20 euros!) was oversalted, the non-alcoholic drinks were boring and sugary. The service was pretty disengaged and the atmosphere was very unpleasant. We have never felt so uncomfortable in a restaurant. A large billboard constantly showing advertisements, blaring techno music, an atmosphere like a beach promenade tourist trap. Normally the food should have been returned. But since it was my husband's birthday, I wanted to complete the evening without any unpleasant incident.

We were there on Sunday evening to have a quick drink and something to eat. The cocktails were quite good and, given the happy hour, the price was also quite reasonable. However, the price-performance ratio of the food is not right. The terracotta pot for €25 tasted okay, but for some rice with two chicken legs from the supermarket, that's really cheeky. Wouldn't eat there again...

Ordered Pho. The quality of the food does not match the price. Also the homemade lemonade taste terrible, way too sweet and artificial.

No idea why they have 4.8 - totally fake! Food is overpriced and only okish. It smelled the whole lunch like cleaning products. The portions are ok. The service is slow and they don’t really care.

THE PLACE TO BE! I highly recommend the secret rose cocktail and the dish with the chicken coconut milk!! A TRUE DELIGHT AND GREAT HAPPINESS TO SAVOR

Attracted by the flowery dishes on the menu and the good reviews (you'll find out where they come from later) we went to Jack Glockenbach at the weekend. We took note of the significantly above-average prices (hardly a main course under 20€) and had corresponding expectations. They were bitterly disappointed. The price-performance ratio is really underground in my opinion. Here you get normal Vietnamese food (in average portion size) with funky descriptions for gourmet prices that are also salty for Munich.
When we asked about a (small) children's meal, we were initially suggested a dish for €23 (fried noodles with chicken). When asked if there was something cheaper, a children's portion for €15 was suggested. The main courses: The ginger terracotta "pot", described as the house specialty, was a small bowl with 2 small pieces of chicken in a quite acceptable sauce, with a heap of rice, 3 slices of cucumber, 3 slices of tomato and a tiny bowl of pickled carrot/radish. (25€) The “noodle plate” for 23€ was a medium-sized portion of fried rice noodles. You can get it (also in Munich) for around €10 The whole thing is rounded off with hefty drink prices (small glass of water €3.90), a small helping of rice for €4 (!) and an interchangeable ambience. 

The good reviews come through a “payment” (against Google guidelines) for the reviews with schnapps and “a small gift” which is only paid out after a 5 star rating is presented. See pictures/posters in the toilets. Update: as expected, the restaurant is now trying to use legal tricks to make the review disappear.

One of the best Pho Bo's in town. Good size portions and nice selection of wines. Service is very friendly and fast.

The food is tasty. The only downside is that on Friday evenings and weekends, it gets quite busy. Even with a reservation, you’re only allowed to stay for about 1.5 hours, which can feel a bit rushed.

The food was OK, but nothing more. The drinks were attractively decorated. We had to wait a very long time (45 minutes) before the wrong starter arrived. The tables are placed so close together that you can't get to the table without the people sitting next to you having to move their place. It is correspondingly loud. All in all, unfortunately disappointing. In Munich there are much better Vietnamese restaurants such as Sauvage just a few minutes away or May.

I don’t understand where all the positive reviews come from. The room is uncomfortably hot, they can’t provide water, there is very little space, the food is mediocre, and, on top of that, they didn’t give us a receipt.

No idea why this place has 4.8 stars, I assume that either the good reviews are paid or the owners are deleting negative reviews. I had an extremely disappointing experience at this restaurant. The service was shockingly unprofessional and rude, creating a very unwelcoming atmosphere, and the food was below mediocre. The staff made no effort to accommodate reasonable requests, such as providing a simple glass of water or finding space for winter jackets. Instead of offering solutions, they made some impolite remarks that made the situation even more uncomfortable. The calamari was served uncleaned and undercooked, and the broth for the pho soup tasted like it came from a generic stock cube rather than being freshly prepared. The meat was very chewy and lacked flavor, further diminishing the dining experience. Despite a simple order, the food took far too long to arrive, and there was no communication or apology for the delay. Overall, this restaurant failed on all fronts—service, food quality, and atmosphere. I can't recommend it to others

The food was delicious, but the service didn't make us feel welcome. After just over an hour we were supposed to pay. When the water glasses were already taken away with the last sip in them, we no longer felt welcome. The atmosphere is rather loud, a cold wind comes through the door when it opens. For us, the price/performance was not appropriate for this service and the ambience.

Unfortunately I cannot confirm the good reviews. The food was average at best and you could definitely expect more for the price (rice noodle bowl with tofu 20 EUR), the atmosphere was rather old school and not particularly cozy, and the service was nice, but you have to go to the bar first someone comes and can't expect any recommendations about the card. All in all I was disappointed, there are much better Vietnamese restaurants in the area.

Good food, friendly service and a pleasant ambience are a must for a good dinner. Here you will get your money's worth if you want to discover Vietnamese cuisine for yourself.

The food was good and came very quickly, but this is probably due to the fact that you have to make room for the next guest as quickly as possible. We had made a reservation and after just an hour we were asked for the first time if we could pay, even though we were nowhere near finished with our drinks and still had at least 20 minutes left. Later we paid, but there was still some water left in our glasses. We weren't even asked if we were finished, the glasses were simply cleared away. Given the very high prices in this restaurant, we found that very rude. Only designed for profit, it seems. And the noise level is also very high. Very unfortunate. We'll probably choose another Vietnamese next time.

An exceptional dining experience! The Vietnamese restaurant is a real find. From the moment you enter, you are greeted by a welcoming and authentic atmosphere. You can find fresh dishes full of natural ingredients. The pho soup is, without a doubt, one of the best I have ever had, with a rich, deep broth accompanied by fresh herbs. The service is friendly and attentive. Totally recommended!

Will not come back personally. It’s wayyy overpriced for average quality food, and not cosy atmosphere. Looked better and bigger on pictures than reality. Kind of felt like tourist trap, focusing a lot on paid advertising to be visible over nicer viet restaurants.

Very tasty food with good value for money. The Sprizz selection is terrific! The restaurant is very nice but a bit noisy.

Well organized service with excellent food. Very popular location, especially on Friday evenings. The noise level is quite high in the fully occupied restaurant - of course you have to take that into account. Personally, the music played didn't fit into the concept and added to the noise level (modern pop music). The ambience suffered a little as a result. The prices are already higher depending on the location.

ATTENTION: All the good reviews are (probably) based on a sign on the toilet. Anyone who gives a good review gets a free mango shot. I can't explain it any other way because, in my opinion, the food is absolutely below average and quite expensive. My companion wasn't happy either. At least the food was beautifully prepared. I was extremely annoyed because I only came here because of the many positive reviews and there are much better Asian restaurants in Munich.

I can't understand why this restaurant is highly rated. We had a very disappointing dinner experience here. The food is way overpriced for the quality, the shrimps and calamari dish that I ordered was so overcooked that the calamari was too rubbery and chewy. That's absolutely unacceptable for a restaurant that charges higher than the average restaurant in Munich. We weren't given a receipt and according to the menu we should have been charged around 75 Eur but they charged us 100 Eur. The desserts were the only highlight of the day, although I've had better desserts at other Vietnamese restaurants in Germany for much less price.

Great food and very friendly staff

Unfortunately extremely dissatisfied with the staff, the food was good but you get the impression of not being welcome. I was also told something interesting by acquaintances... They also ate there, had the same experiences as me and decided to rate it too. The following image shows an email from a company that was commissioned to delete Google reviews. Everything in the email sounds like the decision is final and from Google. There are also supposedly consequences. However, Google itself did not delete the post, as you can read for yourself below. To the owner: Maybe you would rather invest in qualified employees than in deleting dissatisfied comments. But I suspect that you would rather have an eye-catcher since most customers are first-time customers anyway, so Google is probably simply more relevant than good service.

My first review was deleted because it was perhaps too honest - I don't know. So again: Unfortunately, the food was medium quality for a lot of money. Unfortunately the card, the glasses stuck... Never again!

The food itself was delicious, but the price-performance ratio was simply not right. 20€ for a small portion that wasn't filling and when you did the math the aperitif was suddenly 2€ more expensive... There are definitely better Vietnamese restaurants ;)

We went home hungry and at this price... the taste was no more than average and the ambience wasn't our cup of tea either.

I used to taste it better. As far as I understand, the meat is no longer organic either. In my opinion, that’s what made this place so special.

The food was delicious, but Jack won't see me again. Reason for this is 1. The service is not particularly polite and at some point you are asked to vacate the table. 2. The seating/tables are far too narrow. Of course, it's clear to me that the owners want to make as much money as possible, but having guests squatting in the aisle who then always have to get up when other guests have to go to the toilet or leave the store is just wrong. Plus it's terribly loud. 3. The TV with advertising in the corner. I'm just not into watching cigarette ads while I'm eating and I don't understand how a restaurant owner would want to do that for the few euros in advertising revenue.

... generally nice, creative menu, but simply overpriced for the ambience and quality of the dishes. For a normal duck (not organic!) it costs just under 26 euros, that's not ok. And the vegetarian dishes are also “overpriced”.

Good but not tasty, it lacks the essential fresh Vietnamese herbs like coriander, instead of European parsley. Pho with a broth with a tasteless taste, spicy but without the good taste of broth simmered for hours. Beef bun without real flavor, it lacks the essential taste of Nuoc Mam (fish sauce) this restaurant offers Vietnamese-inspired dishes but is very far from the authentic taste of Vietnam. The other Vietnamese restaurants in the area are much better and cheaper. The icing on the cake is the corruption proposed by the establishment, to give 5 stars on the apps in exchange for a digestive. We came here because of the good Ranking. We were very disappointed. If you want to eat good Vietnamese cuisine, go your way.

The food is amazing and the atmosphere is great even when it is super busy.

Sat outside, but the ambience looked great inside. Tried only the Fitness soup which was interesting, very nice sweet and sour flavor. Although the portion was smaller than expected and it was definitely overpriced.

Buying 5 star reviews with a schnapps is really embarrassing... do you need that? Shouldn't the quality speak for itself?

The prices are above average for the quality. The portion size was relatively small - there were no Vietnamese herbs in any of the four main courses we ordered. If you order rice, a small bowl costs another 4 euros extra. With a reservation you can only stay for 2 hours. We were told this when the second round of drinks was brought to us -> with the note that we should pay now, the next guests are waiting outside. You could then “enjoy” the glass of wine for 10 euros within 5 minutes. Regarding payment: we were told that we should pay in cash - card payment would not be possible. But since no one had any cash with them, the card reader was brought out.

Ordered the shaolin soup tonight.. came without a single piece of Tofu lol barely had anything honestly, just a few celery sticks, maybe one piece of lemon grass and 3 pieces of mushroom… for 10€ hahaha Service people were nice but what can you say when this happens… otherwise atmosphere was “ok”.. it just got busy and was very loud - on a Monday evening..

Food is okay, but it doesn't have much in common with Vietnamese food. Prices very expensive. Service underground. We arrived at 5 p.m. without a reservation and were assigned a table. Orders for food and drink were placed at 5:10 p.m. At 5:30 p.m. the waitress came without drinking or eating and said: we have to be gone by 6 p.m. When I asked if we would still get our food and drinks, she left and said she would sort it out. After waving several times, she came at 5:45 p.m. and said here is your food and drinks, please be ready by 6:00 p.m. The table is reserved... At 6:00 p.m. sharp, I was very rudely handed the bill and asked to leave. That doesn't work at all. The five star reviews are easy to explain, see picture: Recessions are simply bought through free liquor - illegal on Google - please delete from Google Maps!

Very tasty food! Especially the normal starter soup and the number 57 were very tasty. The service was very friendly and accommodating.

Good food, confusing service. The food servers try to tell tourist customers their “card machine isn’t working” just to get you to pay them in cash when paying the bill, but I observed plenty of other tables pay by card. Tell them you’ll wait for the card machine to be fixed and you’ll see how quickly they’ll come back and let you pay by card.

Vietnamese restaurant at Sendlinger Tor. Large selection of food and drinks and friendly service. Normal prices. Nice ambience. Reservation is recommended, otherwise you may have to leave without having accomplished anything.

Little space, very rude staff, food was expensive and more floral garnish than real food. The taste is okay, but nothing special, but I can do without the fly in the ointment. “Today only cash payment” surprised me a bit.

The food is solid but for the price it doesn't match the value for money. In terms of taste, you can get much more sophisticated food at cheaper prices in other Asian restaurants. The whole atmosphere was very uncomfortable. The door was constantly opened wide by the waiters, so it was super cold inside and drafty. The request to close the door was simply ignored. Overall the service was very poor. At first we were constantly asked what we wanted to order, even though we were obviously still studying the menu. Afterwards you were skillfully ignored and had to go to the counter to pay.

The ambience is beautiful and I have to say when eating it you could tell that it was prepared with love. I will definitely come here more often!

Very (!) good Vietnamese food, but one star deducted because of the sparse portions for the very high price. However, the taste and quality are really top (even if I don't understand why parsley is used as a garnish in a Vietnamese restaurant). Service was a bit understaffed and an order was forgotten, which I then re-ordered from another colleague. The preparation of the food was also on the longer side at just under 30 minutes. The restaurant is comfortable, but cramped and sometimes very noisy when full.

Unfortunately a bad experience, we reserved well in advance and even had the reservation confirmed by phone today on the day of the reservation (for 11 people) and when we were there we didn't get a table because there was no reservation in the system.

Absolute disaster! We reserved weeks in advance - with confirmation and telephone reassurance on the day of the reservation and after arriving at the restaurant there was no table available. Unfortunately, with 11 people it's not that easy to find something new. Service was not helpful at all. Too bad.

Food is good, but, oh, did they take our money! And I don't mean the prices. I mean they took 20 euro more over our bill! We had exactly 70 minutes to have a dinner, but thought it was more than enough for fried appetizers and 2 soups. The service was very slow, so we were left with 12 minutes to eat our soups. When they told us the sum, we were already in so much of a hurry, that we just paid and literally went running to the reservation we had for a tour. We did not receive a receipt, it was just verbal. When we discussed the experience afterwards, the bill did not match with 20 euro! Even if there was a service fee, there is no possible way to legally reach this amount of money. Very very disappointing for an "esteemed" restaurant! Shame, shame, shame!

As euphoric as we were after seeing the great review, we are quite disappointed. The ambience is a matter of taste, I don't want to comment on that. The fitness iced tea was delicious and so was the homemade ginger ale, but unfortunately there was too much crushed ice in a 0.4 mL glass. For food: We had the summer rolls and spring rolls as starters. The summer rolls were really good. However, the spring rolls were like frozen ones from the supermarket: small, dark brown and extremely fatty. For the main course we had the witch wok and tofu with fried rice noodles and vegetables with a warm slice of tomato. The tofu was very oily (old oil) and limp. The still, lukewarm tap water was removed from the bill after being spoken to. We don't understand the hype and the price-performance ratio doesn't fit at all.

The food was good, but a bit expensive for its size, the environment was a bit crowded, but generally good. What l did not like was a note that said if you give 5 stars, you get a free drink. That makes the rating unfair.

Had lunch there yesterday. Food lovely and tasty, service excellent. Just one quibble: the daily specials posted online don't quite match what we were actually offered, and some menu items are available only in the evening, not for lunch. So don't get too excited before you know what's available! But still a good meal and I would go back to taste the things I missed.

A massive recommendation goes out. It was our first visit to this restaurant. The drinks were super tasty, especially the Secret Rose. The food was exceptional. I have never seen such fresh vegetables on a plate. Hats off 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻 I can especially recommend the starter plate for two people. Equally commendable was the attentive service from the waitress, who asked about the guests' well-being almost every second 👌🏻

The food was okay, nothing special though expensive. There's no possibility to order tap water and we paid 7€ for one liter of water brought in a carafe (pretty sure it was tap water). The waiters/owners don't speak English and they didn't even try to understand us so asking for a bill and cutlery was a real nightmare. After we approached one of them to ask for a bill they just walked away pretending they didn't see/hear us, it was very rude. I definitely don't recommend this place for tourists.

Unfortunately, the edamame were no longer very fresh, but rather wrinkled. The main course was good, but the price-performance ratio wasn't right at all. The dishes are incredibly expensive even for Munich, so I just expect more all around.

No idea what happened to Jack Glockenbach, but this is no longer the restaurant I was at a few years ago. The food was simply bad considering the price. There was no service at lunchtime, you had to go in to order and pay. The tables and chairs were old and dirty. Very sad!

The food was really delicious but unfortunately we were ripped off. We ordered a starter variation for around €20. When we got the bill we were a bit shocked because they simply deducted the price twice and so we paid €40 just for a starter. We didn't order for two, nor was there any indication on the menu that the price was per person. Well, you have to get your money somehow

Unfortunately our table outside was permanently overlooked. You had to fight to be able to order. When it came to dessert, we capitulated when no menu came despite asking. Food ok. Relatively expensive.

Augustiner beer and Food was good , but smaller portions than average and more expensive. Service was just terrible, second time I’m here and will not give a 3rd chance. Kitchen stays open until late (23h30) that’s a plus.
