This restaurant/bar has the best cocktails in Munich! A lovely atmosphere and friendly service! I'd love to come back :)

A large selection of food, including the lunch menu, is available. The dishes are delicious and visually appealing. Once you've eaten here, you'll always come back. An absolute recommendation.

Mediocre food (tough vegetables and only the taste of soy sauce), high prices. Poor value for money. I ordered a bottle of mineral water, and they brought me a glass of water for which they charged me €3.90. I won't be back.

My fiancée and I were looking for an Asian restaurant in Munich. It's a bit hidden away, but it's a very good restaurant with a straightforward menu, almost all of the drinks are homemade, and the food is truly delicious! Definitely worth a spontaneous visit! They even invited us for a schnapps, which was super sweet!

The food was great and with several gluten-free options indicated on the menu, the staff was very pleasant.

I found this restaurant to be very overpriced compared with other Vietnamese restaurants in Munich. A red curry with meat shouldn't cost 25€ while other restaurants are serving it for 15€. The quality of the food wasn't unfortunately worth the price.

My boyfriend and I went to Munich for the first time and stopped by because we saw a lot of reviews but I didn't seem to like it very much. I ordered Bun Bo Hue but it only had noodles and beef, the broth was like pho broth and the noodles were cold so they were hard and broken. I expected a lot from the restaurant and I was quite disappointed. The price is also a bit expensive compared to the general level.

Great restaurant, highly recommended. We would come back anytime. Advance reservations are recommended.

Bad, not recommended. Very slow and unfriendly service. It took an hour to serve us; they'd forgotten the food. Expensive for the amount of food.

Jacket was stolen. After my review was deleted several times, but I definitely think it has a right to exist, here it is again :) A few months ago, the two of us went there to spend a nice evening. The restaurant was very busy and the service was rather overwhelmed. The food took a while, but it was very tasty. However, during this time, my jacket was stolen from the coat rack. The curtain on the door blocks the coat rack from view, so anyone can come in from outside and help themselves to jackets without noticing. There's also a sign asking you to hang your jacket there. The employees didn't seem particularly interested in the fact that their store had just been stolen. Which I can't understand! We would have appreciated more support at that moment. All in all, a real shame! The curtain serves as protection from the cold, but it doesn't allow a view of the coat rack.

Got there and they wouldn’t serve food, only drinks.

To be honest, I didn't think it was that great. It wasn't completely bad, but I can't understand the restaurant's extremely high ratings. Considering how expensive the food is, it's rather mediocre, there's a long wait, and the cocktails weren't that good. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it.

No, this place is not recommended. After the table was sticky, the menu was completely tattered and dirty, and there was a sign on the restroom saying everyone who left a good review would get a free cocktail, we left immediately. It's a shame that so many people seem to prioritize a free cocktail over an honest review.

The food is okay, but way too expensive for what it is (average Vietnamese). €23 for Pho. The high ratings probably come from the sign in the restroom saying you get a free shot for a 5-star review. We waited 1.5 hours for the food.

Four of us went to Jack's tonight. We initially wanted to order crispy spring rolls, which weren't available...okay, that can happen. We ordered duck, which was an absolute joke for €25.90. It was sloppy, tough, and you couldn't really call it crispy and juicy duck. The other dishes weren't lukewarm as advertised, but cold. For the prices Jack charges, you can get a thousand times better food elsewhere... We definitely won't be coming back..... U.G

Vietnamese food is often praised as healthy and delicious. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case tonight! We had a reservation for four people at this restaurant. The crispy spring rolls appetizer was already out of stock at 7 p.m. The food is absolutely terrible and a complete rip-off. The service is ignorant and doesn't speak any German at all. We won't be coming back!

I will start by saying I will definitely go back again 🤩 Food freshly cooked and without glutamate. I had very tasty and fresh Summer'n Rolls (I could have eaten those ones all evening) followed by Kaiser Suppe. What a perfume and harmony of flavours 🍲🍜 Service very friendly. Very nice ambiance despite sometimes a bit noisy.

The food is delicious, especially the spring rolls. They have some vegan options for drinks as well (gotta love a restaurant that has more than one type of milk: soja, coconut milk). I had some flavoured water (with mint, cucumber) + a very interesting and good espresso.

Absurdly overpriced and bland food, somehow the fish sauce didn't even taste of anything. The cocktail was awful and the beer tasted like the taps hadn't been cleaned in a long, long time. However, the atmosphere was cozy and the waiters were very nice and quick even though it felt like they were overworked and understaffed.

Don't come here if you're English. Wouldn't let us sit outside.

The price is definitely too high for the dish. The food was good, but the price for everything was ridiculously high, and the service left something to be desired.

Superb, extremely fresh, crispy food. The summer rolls were fresh and filled with a delicious sauce, and the curry was fantastic. The duck was tender and juicy—highly recommended.

These prices!!!!!!!! Who's ripping off whom here?!?!? Stop charging such exorbitant prices for dishes that are neither special nor particularly tasty.

Amazing food & pleasant service :)

Two hours for spring rolls and fried tofu with vegetables, rice, and ginger sauce... honestly, even if, as repeatedly emphasized, everything is freshly prepared, the restaurant was empty and not all of the tables outside were occupied—that's just not acceptable. It's little consolation that it actually tasted quite delicious, because we were all over the moon... and yes, there were four of us at the table, and the first starter arrived over an hour after we ordered, so to give you an idea of ​​the time... I don't need to have that again! There are plenty of good Asian restaurants that manage to do it in a reasonable timeframe... Shame Jack!

The food was okay, but nothing special. What really shocked me were the prices: For completely average dishes, they charge amounts you'd normally pay in much more upscale restaurants. The price/performance ratio is completely out of whack.

Very disappointed. This restaurant charges a lot for Vietnamese pho, but the taste was far from good. I’ve had pho in Vietnam and in several cities across Europe, and I have to say the pho here was disastrous. I’ve never had such an expensive bowl of pho anywhere in the world — €22 for one bowl! In Paris, it’s usually around €12–15, and in London about £14. €22, and it wasn’t even good. The broth lacked freshness and was clearly flavored with MSG and chicken bouillon rather than being traditionally simmered. The rice noodles had no elasticity, the texture was poor, and the portion of beef was pitiful — lacking any real flavor. Honestly, this was the worst pho I’ve ever had in my life. We don’t speak German, but we clearly communicated that there were three of us, and we wanted three bowls of pho and one mango sticky rice. In the end, only two bowls of pho and the dessert were served. When we asked about it, the waiter argued that we had only ordered two. I’m not a native English speaker, but I am certain I didn’t mix up “two” and “three.” We even used hand gestures to show “three bowls of pho” while ordering. His innocent-looking denial made me really angry. It was clearly his mistake, yet he didn’t show the slightest bit of apology. In the end, we were in a rush, so the three of us shared the two not-so-tasty bowls of pho and left. In my opinion, for customers who don’t speak German or Vietnamese, and for those who care about food quality, I do not recommend this restaurant.

Very expensive. Food was mediocre. Glasses were dirty. For a 5-star review, you get a mango schnapps. This trick probably explains the many positive reviews. It can hardly be the restaurant's fault.

Loud music, too loud, the Prince Handsome dish was okay, fresh, and good. But sorry, when two people pay over €70 without a starter and a drink each, everything should really be perfect, and it wasn't. The soup was more reminiscent of Maggi, but it cost well over €20 🤣 You wait a long time for your food, but of course, if it's freshly prepared, everything's fine. But the atmosphere is unfortunately not nice either. The free mango schnapps when you leave a 5-star review doesn't inspire much confidence and reinforces the impression that you need it! There are much better alternatives in the Thai food sector in Munich.

I'm not satisfied. For two dishes 50€.. In dish was just a little chicken and a lot of cabbage and carrots.. It doesn't cost ~ 30€ And the dish had awful taste I'm really disappointed Very small place, small tables, very very small toilet My friend ordered bowl with octopus, but they brought the bowl with squid.. It's cheaper of course.. but they didn't mention that I went there according to reviews But I really don't understand why they are so high!!! Don't recommend

The food was good. The coconut curry was excellent, and the crispy duck was a bit drenched in tamarind sauce, but it was good. The prices are really high and don't reflect the offerings. Four stars at most.

We were here last night and were quite disappointed. The food was extremely expensive and the portions were extremely small. The taste is just absolutely average... We found this restaurant visit to be a shameless rip-off and we won't be going there again.

A chance find... and a gigantic surprise. The food was excellent, beautifully presented with edible flowers. We were lucky and got the last free table inside on Friday around 6 p.m. I almost wouldn't try it here without a reservation, which only speaks for the quality of the store. The only downside: it's a bit crowded for people who belong to the small whale class... but I'll definitely go here again! Prices are extremely reasonable considering the quality and the fact that the Jack Glockenbach ham is located in Munich. Absolutely recommended!

Had dinner here last night. The restaurant is very nice and you can sit outside in the Schanigarten. The waitress was very nice and attentive. We ordered the crispy veggie dumplings as a starter and the main dishes: I'm so beautiful and the rice farmer in the clay pot. Both dishes are highly recommended. The dishes are a bit more expensive. Can recommend the restaurant.

During happy (half-hour) hours from 9:45 p.m. to 10:15 p.m., you pay less for many drinks. Cocktail sizes are fair and well-made, and the staff is prompt.

I don't understand where the 4.7 stars come from. It's loud, the food is mediocre. But the staff is really fine! I had the hot rice sweeper (or something like that): the tof was a joke! Feels cooked in water. Tofu can be prepared better... The cocktails looked really great, but I hadn't tried them.

Unfortunately a failure. Food good though. Just conditions terrible. First we waited for 15 minutes in an almost empty restaurant until drinks were taken. It was exactly the same when ordering food. Then a starter was forgotten that never came. Since the staff was hiding behind the counter, there was no opportunity to announce this. When I paid I was almost a bit cheeky because I didn't pay for the starter. All in all, the restaurant is not recommended.

Due to the many positive reviews, we came to Jack Glockenbach with a certain expectation. Unfortunately, these could not be completely fulfilled. The food was very tasty, but it didn't quite justify the price. The service also left a lot to be desired: our food was served before the drinks arrived, my plate was cleared while my partner was still eating, and after just 45 minutes we were already asked if we wanted to pay. This didn't make us feel truly valued as guests. All in all, there are only small things, but overall there were too many negative points. That's why we won't be coming back for the time being - it's a shame, because the food had potential in terms of taste, but couldn't live up to expectations and the price.

Update 2025: After 5 years we were at Jack Glockenbach again. Unfortunately, things have deteriorated somewhat. The menu is less original and the dishes overall have become very expensive. For a simple curry €25? A specialty of the house is the “Ginger Terra-Cotta Pot”. This is just two larger pieces of bone-in chicken in broth, with some rice and raw carrots and tomatoes. Not bad, but I would have imagined something more spectacular as a specialty. 2000: A slightly different "Vietnamese": very stylish ambience and hip menu, lots of cocktails. The food was excellent, only the desserts disappointed us a bit, especially because the prices are quite steep (however - if you want to eat cheaply, you shouldn't visit any of the popular restaurants in Glockenbach). Overall, an original night out tip.

The food was ok, but unfortunately the price-performance ratio wasn't right at all. It wasn't necessarily comfortable either, as you had the feeling that you had to hurry up so that space would become available for the next guests.

We checked on Google what the availability/occupancy was on Friday evening around 6:15 p.m. So not much. So as a “drop in” we were lucky to get a place for 2 people. First big show stopper: We're told we can only stay until 7:30 p.m. Unfortunately, the service was quite short. When the food came and we complained that the food was only "lukewarm", the waitress acted stupid, as if she didn't understand what we meant. She always answered: Is it freshly made, not yesterday? Not from yesterday??? I'm sorry, what? From then on, the friendliness was all the way through. When we asked again at 7:10 p.m. for the menu for a dessert, which we got from the waiter, the waitress immediately took the menu away from us and told us that our time was over and we couldn't order any more dessert. It's really a shame, but this restaurant doesn't seem to need it. Finally, something positive: The food was very good (although unfortunately not completely hot). The cocktails were also very good. Service however terrible.

Apparently you do a reservation , but they can decide not to respect it and also not let you know in advance, and then only tell you “oh so sorry, but we are full already, so sorry” Hate this kind of service …

There are mice in the store!!! Only after complaining several times did the boss come and put a €5 note on the table as “compensation”. As a customer you are asked to give 5* ratings by being enticed with gifts and a mango schnapps. The food was acceptable. What you could actually expect from a cheaper snack bar. The drinks were good, although not really cold.

We made a reservation here based on the positive reviews and were horrified. There are so many excellent Vietnamese restaurants in Munich and we took the above-average prices and reviews as a guarantee of above-average quality and style. My meal (vegetarian for 20 euros!) was oversalted, the non-alcoholic drinks were boring and sugary. The service was pretty disengaged and the atmosphere was very unpleasant. We have never felt so uncomfortable in a restaurant. A large billboard constantly showing advertisements, blaring techno music, an atmosphere like a beach promenade tourist trap. Normally the food should have been returned. But since it was my husband's birthday, I wanted to complete the evening without any unpleasant incident.

We were there on Sunday evening to have a quick drink and something to eat. The cocktails were quite good and, given the happy hour, the price was also quite reasonable. However, the price-performance ratio of the food is not right. The terracotta pot for €25 tasted okay, but for some rice with two chicken legs from the supermarket, that's really cheeky. Wouldn't eat there again...

No idea why they have 4.8 - totally fake! Food is overpriced and only okish. It smelled the whole lunch like cleaning products. The portions are ok. The service is slow and they don’t really care.

Attracted by the flowery dishes on the menu and the good reviews (you'll find out where they come from later) we went to Jack Glockenbach at the weekend. We took note of the significantly above-average prices (hardly a main course under 20€) and had corresponding expectations. They were bitterly disappointed. The price-performance ratio is really underground in my opinion. Here you get normal Vietnamese food (in average portion size) with funky descriptions for gourmet prices that are also salty for Munich.
When we asked about a (small) children's meal, we were initially suggested a dish for €23 (fried noodles with chicken). When asked if there was something cheaper, a children's portion for €15 was suggested. The main courses: The ginger terracotta "pot", described as the house specialty, was a small bowl with 2 small pieces of chicken in a quite acceptable sauce, with a heap of rice, 3 slices of cucumber, 3 slices of tomato and a tiny bowl of pickled carrot/radish. (25€) The “noodle plate” for 23€ was a medium-sized portion of fried rice noodles. You can get it (also in Munich) for around €10 The whole thing is rounded off with hefty drink prices (small glass of water €3.90), a small helping of rice for €4 (!) and an interchangeable ambience. 

The good reviews come through a “payment” (against Google guidelines) for the reviews with schnapps and “a small gift” which is only paid out after a 5 star rating is presented. See pictures/posters in the toilets. Update: as expected, the restaurant is now trying to use legal tricks to make the review disappear.

One of the best Pho Bo's in town. Good size portions and nice selection of wines. Service is very friendly and fast.

The food is tasty. The only downside is that on Friday evenings and weekends, it gets quite busy. Even with a reservation, you’re only allowed to stay for about 1.5 hours, which can feel a bit rushed.

The food was OK, but nothing more. The drinks were attractively decorated. We had to wait a very long time (45 minutes) before the wrong starter arrived. The tables are placed so close together that you can't get to the table without the people sitting next to you having to move their place. It is correspondingly loud. All in all, unfortunately disappointing. In Munich there are much better Vietnamese restaurants such as Sauvage just a few minutes away or May.
