We received very friendly service and the food was excellent. The value for money is excellent.

We were there today, October 3, 2025. It was very busy, and even though there were no free tables, the waitress told us to come back in half an hour, then we could eat there. What can I say? The promise was kept. The food was incredibly delicious, and the service was very friendly. Our experience was so positive that we've decided to eat there again tomorrow. I highly recommend the restaurant.

Another really good Greek restaurant. The service was nice, quick, friendly, and attentive. They brought cushions to the table outside and provided insect repellent. The food was very good, and the portions were plentiful. Value for money: good. The menu was extensive, and finally, they were serving oven-baked dishes again. Parking was available on site. P.S.: If you prefer a less acidic side salad, you should leave out the dressing when ordering.

We were at the beer garden on Friday around 7 p.m. We just wanted a drink (one beer each for two people). All the tables were occupied. The waitress was completely overwhelmed. I had to take orders, pour or prepare drinks myself, bring food and drinks to the guests, and collect the money. After about an hour and a half, we had to go to the bar ourselves to order (and the same thing happened when paying). The waiter was also very unfriendly. A little tip: Hire more staff and don't focus on profits!!!!! No star!

Hello, I don't even know where to start. Despite the negative reviews, we thought, well, let's give it a try. Everyone has a different subjective opinion, but we should have left it alone. First, an annoyed waiter greeted us. Friendly doesn't sound like that. Then the food arrived... after a bit of a wait. It was presented with a total lack of enthusiasm and tasted absolutely nothing. I had a mixed plate (gyro with calamari) with fries, although I have to say the calamari was still tasty, the rest was rubbish, although I have to say you can't go wrong with calamari. On top of that, the fries were cold and the salad tasted full of vinegar, really yucky. Apparently, the salads were made hours in advance with sauce and were left ready for dinner. Fresh salad tastes different. My husband had the dish: chicken in a casserole dish. Ugh, the meat was cooked... not tasty at all, the fat was really floating. We left three-quarters of the food standing and wanted to pay immediately. We were hungry and wanted some good food, which they didn't have. We wasted €50. When the waiter came, he was surprised because we hadn't eaten anything. We listed the issues. My husband was called in to pay. The owner was at the bar. She asked what was wrong with the food, and my husband listed the issues. No apology, no statement like: "I'm sorry you didn't like it, we'll do better next time." That would have been perfect customer service. I know what I'm talking about; I've been working in customer service for 20 years. The reality was different: "100 people come and there's nothing to complain about...blah blah...no insight. My husband paid and left her standing there because she was still arguing. Out of respect, she should have only taken the money from the drinks. It may be that 100 people come, but then they don't come back. A large portion come from rehabilitation hotels, and the machinery works because they don't rely on regulars. So don't go there; it's really as the people here write. The Turkish restaurant a few meters away may not be as big, but it tastes great and costs only half as much, and the service is better. So keep your eyes open when looking for a restaurant in Bad Liebenstein and don't get "ripped off." Even one star is too much!

If you like chicken gyros, you're in the right place. But it's not my thing. For me, it has to be pork gyros! The service is friendly. Card payments are accepted, but I don't think they're particularly welcome.

Today, my husband and I went to the Irodion again after 3 years! First of all, we should have left it alone! The tables in the garden hadn't been wiped down, and chair cushions were only available upon request; mine had traces of mold, while my husband's showed other indefinable signs of use. The food was good, and the first two Kristallweizen beers were served in appropriate glasses, although we had to let the casserole go back because it wasn't really hot. The second Kristallweizen was served in a regular beer glass!!! When we asked, we were told they were out of wheat beer glasses. That at least seemed like an honest answer. At some point, the manager took over and presented us with the requested bill. There was no question as to whether everything was satisfactory... This kind of "attention" was only given to regular guests, as was very noticeable. Because we wanted to pay by card, my husband was very rudely shown inside. Since there was no indication that credit cards were not accepted, the unfriendly and rude rejection was all the more surprising. My husband was advised to go to the nearby bank!!! Since he had to wait a few minutes until the manager was free, he saw the manager take a piece of meat from a plate intended for a guest and eat it himself before serving it!!!!!!! In the end, we were able to pay with our usual debit card. Conclusion: The manager's unfriendliness is hard to beat! Therefore, another visit to this establishment is out of the question, especially since cost-cutting measures are also obvious: there are no beer mats, no table decorations, and the extremely worn cutlery trays are stocked with a bare minimum. Enjoy your stay!

We had an all-around successful visit! The food was not only a visual highlight, but also absolutely delicious – especially the gyro with crispy fries and the fresh salads. The appetizers like bruschetta and toasted bread with dip were also truly delicious. The staff was super friendly, attentive, and welcoming. What was particularly nice was that when we were sitting in the sun, they immediately asked us if we wanted to move to a shady spot without any problems – truly welcoming service! We would love to come back!

We had already booked a Christmas party for 22 people in November in August. When we arrived, we had to wait outside because no one was there before opening (10 minutes before). When we came in, the waiter was already annoyed and asked how many of us were. Well, 22, as ordered. That many people can't fit here... only 18, the others have to sit at another table. Oh, so why am I accepting such a large group? Nothing had been prepared. After trying to arrange the tables and walking around the restaurant, he made it clear to us that we had to sit separately, and there was also a walk to the restroom. Also, someone was coming in a wheelchair, so they could only sit downstairs. No offense, but then I can't accept the reservation if a Christmas party is already booked in that area. We actually wanted to leave the restaurant, but where do you spontaneously get 22 seats in a spa town on a Friday evening? We mentioned it was very cold, and his answer was sobering: it's just colder in the winter garden. Okay... no raki or ouzo beforehand and none afterward either... you can get that at every Greek restaurant, always and there too, because we booked the restaurant because we knew it from private visits and were satisfied. The food came out completely inconsistently, but for many people it was bearable. An ice cream sundae that was ordered came out completely differently. When we mentioned it, they said it was sold out. Yes, but then you can say that and not just bring something else. First the wrong one was cleared away and then brought back with melted cream and they said the other one was sold out. Of course, the colleague then had to pay for it too (6.90€). The waitress was then kind enough to give her a 2€ discount after the colleague asked her about it. What was actually going on? The waiter then only bothered with the next table, here everything was served in a friendly and courteous manner and the people were treated decently. One should also not forget that with food of 20-30€ per person, you have a good profit on an evening like that. We're truly sorry, but you definitely lost 22 guests, some of whom were happy to come to you. Perhaps it was because the otherwise lovely waitress, with whom we had booked, wasn't there that evening. It's a shame, but that's not what hospitality looks like.

Unfortunately, the restaurant wasn't recommended on Sunday due to a lack of staff. The wait for drinks and food was far too long. We had to wait 1.5 hours.

We were there today for our 5th anniversary. A fantastic atmosphere with music, kids' entertainment, and a great supporting program. First-class lamb food, barbecue with salads. We all enjoyed it very much. Very good value for money. Large portions with side dishes. The food took about 20 minutes. The salads arrived very quickly; our food arrived before the salad was gone. Super friendly service. Great ambiance outside.

The gyro in Metaxa sauce wasn't that tasty. Extremely greasy. The taste wasn't that good. I had to wait a long time for service. Even though the restaurant wasn't too busy, I had to wait over an hour! Conclusion: I'll never eat there again.

Unfortunately the waiter (young man) was overwhelmed. Didn't get the drink we ordered, didn't get any ouzo at the end, even though we ate and drank... the neighboring tables all did. In summary, the food was delicious but the service needed a lot of improvement. PS: Waiting time for food was over an hour

Absolutely not recommended. I had gyros in metaxa sauce, the gyros were just planks of fat and the sauce was watery with no taste, even the cheese with which it was gratinated tasted like cardboard. Unfortunately, there was also a stale beer and a non-carbonated cola. Then you wouldn't be able to iron out the ouzo afterwards. You're looking forward to a delicious Greek meal and then something like that. We're never coming back.

Went to the irodion for the first time today, ordered gyros twice, were totally disappointed, the meat was completely covered in cartilage and we had skin in the meat which was floppy, the waiter was unmotivated and annoyed and had the feeling that he thought he was thinking please leave again, it's a shame but for us it was the first and last time

We were there about 3 weeks ago. Unfortunately we had to wait 1 1/2 hours for the food in a restaurant that wasn't full. Drinks were available after about 20 minutes. there. It was a bit strange that nothing happened afterwards. Had previously made reservations for dinner for 3 people. After about 1/2 hour later we asked the waitress whether we could order something to eat :-))). Then the cutlery basket and menus were slammed onto the table in a rather unfriendly manner. We then ordered quickly. After about 45 minutes (restaurant still quite empty) the food arrived. It was cold and the meat was overly fatty and rather tasteless. The fries were very hard and only lukewarm. After such a strange experience we wouldn't go there again.

Too expensive for our taste and the food wasn't particularly great, there is better Greek food.

I am very disappointed with this restaurant. I received a voucher as a gift on December 26th, 2023, which I redeemed today. I was horrified to see that the voucher had expired. About a month!!! So the voucher value was simply halved! This is also how you can earn money. I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone and will never eat there again.

The food was absolutely great – fresh, authentic and super tasty! The service was also very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately it took quite a long time for the food to arrive as the restaurant was probably a bit understaffed. It's a shame, but still a clear recommendation for the great quality and the friendly staff!

We were 5 people and a toddler (2 years old). We were there on a Saturday evening and the place was barely full. We were able to order the drinks after 10 minutes. Then nothing happened for a long time... after another 30 minutes we were finally able to order food. The cellar was very unfriendly and annoyed. For my daughter we ordered pasta without sauce. Of course the pasta came with sauce. (and of course billed as Bolognese afterwards) Since our child doesn't want to eat sauce, we let the dish go back. Here you could only hear the “cook” shouting from the kitchen: “There is no minced meat on it”. After another 60 minutes the main course finally arrived. Because of the long wait, we expected a masterpiece. Unfortunately, we were absolutely disappointed here. The schnitzel tasted like chili chess nuggets from McDonald's, the pork medallions were so solid that you couldn't eat them. We also ordered the house plate in the hope of getting a decent portion of various types of meat, but unfortunately this didn't happen. Unfortunately, most of the meat was raw. Fortunately, we weren't even asked if we liked it. I absolutely can't explain where the good comments come from here. Either the restaurant “used to” be much better or the guests have never been to a proper Greek restaurant and think this is the standard. It's really worth driving further to Eisenach or Meiningen.

We were there at 6pm on a weekday and it was very uncrowded. The food we ordered was not that good compared to other Greek restaurants. The salad was also old. Overall it was just eating. At the end we had to wait for the waiter or for the bill but we didn't get any and were just told the price.

Great food! Great service 👍🏻 keep it up. Here they even ask you if you want an ouzo 👍🏻 Ambiance is okay, there is a cigarette machine in the anteroom, which is not so nice because it is really an eye-catcher. Otherwise everything was top top 👍🏻

In terms of quality, Irodion's food is highly recommended. It tastes great and is beautifully presented. The waiting time is also worth it. The staff is friendly and keeps the guests' well-being in mind. In terms of atmosphere, however, the restaurant doesn't quite transport me to Greece.

Conditional! We were there around 6:00 p.m. At first the service was quite decent, then ignored. The boss cleared the dishes when we had barely finished eating. He then walked past our empty glasses several times. Finally we order 2 ouzo and the bill. Instead of the ouzo we ordered, the cheap “nightcap” and the grumpy announcement of the price came. We waived the bill, maybe it was wrong because of tax?

Reserved for a Sunday, no problem by phone. We had lunch at Iridion with two families and were greeted warmly. From ordering drinks and food to serving them, there were no complaints. The drinks were cool, the food was hot and tasted Greek. This was the second visit and this time we were not disappointed.

Don't go to dinner hungry. It was very tasty but unfortunately the food was no longer warm when it arrived at the table. It all took some time. Ordering the drinks, ordering the food, bringing the order and unfortunately also paying the bill took a long time. We were cold, we were tired. The boss didn't respond at all to one woman when she asked to pay. 😐

Unfortunately the food wasn't to my taste. The tzatziki had way too much dill. The fries just tasted like grease. The gyro was too fatty and the skewer was too dry.

One of the worst Greek restaurants I've ever eaten at. Let's start with the unfriendly service I've ever had. The cards were literally “thrown” in your face. As well as the drinks. The waiter seems totally demotivated and passive aggressive. He is completely annoyed by the mere presence of the guests. The starter was very tasty, but the main course gyros were mixed and greasy. After paying, the waiter wanted to bring an ouzo, which didn't find its way to the table even after 10 minutes of waiting. In summary, the food is okay, but the service is subpar. You can clearly eat better somewhere else in Bad Liebenstein.

We waited a full hour for the food. The garden was about 70% occupied at 7 p.m. Some guests left after asking neighboring tables how long it would take. Many tables were marked as reserved, but no one came. The landlord was stressed and unfriendly. You should spare the poor guy that and go eat somewhere else.

We waited 1 hour for our food and quickly downed it when asked. When I was told that several guests who had come after us had already had their food, I was made to feel stupid. The food tasted quite good but was lukewarm, so it was only made after I was at the counter. It's a shame that can ruin your visit to the restaurant.

Unfortunately very dissatisfied. The young man who served us was very friendly, but when the drinks were brought the glasses were wet on the outside (not water, but beer). Unfortunately I didn't notice it straight away, so the beer liquid dripped onto my shirt when I took a sip. I ordered souvlaki, it was extremely tough and dry, anything but enjoyable. When asked, I also reported this, but no response. For example, there was no ouzo as a small courtesy, but also no tip from me. (Which actually never happens to me).

We really enjoyed it every time - the service was excellent and very friendly - the food tasted great (Irodion plate) - I had the great taste on our palate for days!) The price-performance ratio was definitely good. Overall, I can highly recommend the Irodion - Anastasios Nasios restaurant. Ate on the outdoor terrace and ordered a Greek dish. Service was friendly and the Greek dish was wonderfully fresh. Dish is not very much, but actually just enough. When paying, I received an ouzo on the house. The only downside is that the drink prices here are very expensive. I have never paid 5.60 euros for a hefenweizen on a terrace in Germany before.

Seven of us showed up there without pre-ordering, and two tables were put together especially for us. Thank you, that's not the case everywhere. It didn't take long to ask about a drink. Not much time passed between ordering food and serving it, despite the fact that it was well attended. Food and service very good, service very friendly. There were four of us in the restaurant. Left almost 100 euros there. Food was almost cold. Had to wait 1 hour to order. Food came an hour and a half later. The service very unfriendly. No bon appetit or anything else was wished. The restaurant was sparsely occupied with guests. We left this place 3 hours later. They'll never see us again. We've never experienced anything like this before. Several guests left the restaurant after a long wait.

Food was good, but the service staff were very bored and unmotivated, except for the little blonde girl who was running around the whole time. After I wanted to pay with a card, the staff wasn't quite as enthusiastic anymore, you could tell The EC device hit me in front of me.

Were there a week ago around 5 p.m. as a small group of 7 people. Had reserved in advance. Orders were taken quickly and drinks arrived quite quickly. Unfortunately, by that time the gyros had already run out, so the plates were filled with something else (one got a piece of liver, the other chicken). In principle you can do this, but as a guest I would like to be informed beforehand because I don't like liver. Instead of the fries they ordered, someone got rice. This was criticized, and fries were then added - but they were then charged extra. We really understand that mistakes can happen in stressful situations, but we didn't find it very customer-friendly to then charge the full price. The taste is rather average, the price is rather high for what is on offer.

Absolute disaster. The reception was anything but friendly. Instead of cleaning the tables and removing leftover food from the floor, the unfriendly waitress sits bored on the chair 8 minutes before the store opens. I ordered gyros in Metaxa sauce, gratinated with cheese (without fries). Of course I get my meal with fries. Sure... you want to have all the money. I also ordered olives and pepperoni. So from a Greek I expect the olives (light purple with pit) to look like olives (black/green without pit) and the peppers to be slightly warm and fried. There was no detail to be seen. After we had to beg for an ouzo, I paid accordingly and mentioned that I didn't like the food. (Meat was still raw and the sauce was like water). The unfriendly service didn't want to accept my objective criticism and pointed to other restaurants that were definitely better. Conclusion: I have never seen a restaurant as bad as this one. From the staff to the taste it was absolutely a disaster. P. S. The langa-haired, schmaltzy waitress, who runs his hands through his hair every 3 minutes, carries the glasses with his finger in the glass. I'm done

Four of us were there for dinner on Sunday evening. We waited for over an hour and then actively asked where the food was. When it was brought to me, I was a little disappointed because I would have expected more for almost 19 euros. Look at the picture, it should be a Thalassos plate (gyros with calamari). As a motorcyclist, I could easily have eaten this portion twice. Looks like a children's plate. The quality and taste was good but the squid was half cold. It's a shame, I had higher expectations. The service forgot about us and didn't inform us. We then paid and went back to the hotel to have a drink.

Unfortunately I had to give one star for food and service. Less was not possible. We got 3 wrong meals in a group of 7 people. When asked, the waitress became rude and said "I haven't made a mistake in 20 years". Unfortunately the gyro was out. Unfortunately we weren't informed; the missing gyros were simply exchanged for something else. The steaks and skewers were dry. We will definitely never come back. It's a shame for the beautiful location.

We can't understand the reviews! Ordered 7 dishes and received a whopping 4 wrong dishes. 70% of the meat from the dishes was too dry. Once and never again.😡

The restaurant was almost empty, we had to wait 20 minutes before we could order, that was too much for us. The innkeeper stood at the bar yawning or smoking outside. So we paid for the beers we ordered and left. The landlord, dressed very shabbily, suggested that we go to Mac Donald's if we didn't have time.

The last time we ate there it was okay. This time we ordered to be picked up. When we opened the bowls at home we were shocked, disappointed and speechless. A half-filled bowl of gyros in Metaxa for almost €18 is very outrageous. Price increase or not, but that's not possible. The bread for the tzatziki was also forgotten. Unfortunately, we won't be eating or picking up food there again anytime soon.

Unfortunately the food was a complete disappointment! Looked good but didn't taste good... Google reviews looked good, the atmosphere was inviting, sat down and ordered, the waitresses were actually friendly. Starter incomplete, salad bitter, main course with a different side dish, the right one was brought, but unfortunately everything was just soaked in fat, my calamari wasn't really fully prepared, completely tasteless, everything else was swimming in fat... Almost everything went back and still had to be taken with me almost 60€ for two people have to be paid in full! Very disappointing and a waste of money...

Good restaurant. I go there every now and then when I have something to do in the area for work. Friendly service and the food is good 👍🏻
