The Christmas food was excellent, we'll be back next Christmas and also for other occasions in between.

We went for Christmas dinner today. We had a reservation and waited 45 minutes outside, which I understand is normal at Christmas time, but then we waited over an hour for the food to arrive. I ordered crispy duck breast with dumplings and red cabbage. I had to order more gravy right away; there was far too little on the plate, but it tasted okay. The dumplings were alright, they tasted fine. The duck was anything but crispy; the skin wasn't crispy at all, it was soggy, and the duck itself was tough as rubber. I just wanted something special, not my usual everyday meal, and it was a complete disaster. Never again will I order duck. The server was friendly, nice, and efficient. That's all.

Large groups are no problem here with a reservation. The autumn menu is unusual and varied. The DIY iced tea is a nice touch... unfortunately, mine was a bit bland (perhaps not enough syrup?). Since the menu consisted mostly of burgers and steaks, I ultimately opted for something vegetarian. It was a nice change and tasted good enough. It would have been better if our food had been served at a more simultaneous time. The service is attentive and friendly. If you find the menu appealing, then it's a good choice. The atmosphere, especially on the terrace in summer, is very pleasant.

It was simply delicious and beautifully presented. It was a wonderful, tasty lunch with great service and a lovely atmosphere. Superb!

Our annual meeting for funeral directors took place this year at a colleague's home in Bad Salzungen. Our fellow funeral director, Solefleur Bestattungen, had reserved a table for nine people. The food was excellent, and the service was prompt and attentive. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the meal, and we had a wonderful and pleasant evening.

My meal was relatively tasty; my mother even thought hers was delicious. The service was very friendly. The only downside: Wi-Fi is only available to staff, not guests.

The meat is very well prepared. There were three of us, and unfortunately, none of us could eat it all. It's a shame that the price is correspondingly high. I would have preferred a more sizable portion and paid a few euros less for it. I've heard several times that several guests have experienced this.

Very tasty and cozy. And very cute outside. The Grumbach stream runs right through the village and right across the terrace. So sweetly done.

Four of us came for lunch. The waitress let us choose a table. The menu was surprisingly diverse. We tried a variety of dishes and were all completely satisfied. The waitress checked several times to see if everything was OK. Such attentive service is rare. We can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant.

This was our second visit because we enjoyed the food the first time. However, we waited a long 1.5 hours for our food. Unfortunately, the first experience repeated itself again. We were seated in an area with an unpleasant, peeping draft and waited another hour for the food to be served. Is the kitchen staff overwhelmed? What a shame! We won't be returning for a third visit.

The flank steak was well cooked, but cut incorrectly. It was cut with the grain instead of against it. This made it difficult to eat.

We had a nice evening here with a group and were glad they were able to make room for us. The food was okay, although the fries and ice cream were the best. The service was unfortunately a bit disorganized a few times, but it was nice and friendly. This was probably due to the number of people in the restaurant. I should order something I know next time, then everything will definitely taste good.

We live about 40 km from Bad Liebenstein and have often strolled past Altenstein Castle. This time we wanted to have a bite to eat in Bad Liebenstein and, after walking past several restaurants, luckily settled on this one. The service was very friendly and attentive, and the menu was varied. Our meal was very good and beautifully presented. We will definitely be back.

Very nice ambience, but prices are steep

We were in Bad Liebenstein over the weekend to explore the area. After a lovely motorcycle ride to Saalfeld, we were looking forward to our pre-booked table and delicious food. But no luck. We had to wait almost two hours for our food, which was lukewarm, and then we had to listen to some excuses about it being a family celebration and not being able to go any faster. So you have to host a private party and just forgo a few euros. Completely unacceptable from me 👎🏻👎🏻

The prices were far too high for the portion sizes, and the food tasted only "okay." The meat, but only the meat, was good. The drink selection was good and very tasty. The staff was friendly, and the wait was perfectly reasonable. Due to the mediocre food and the tiny portions, I wouldn't recommend it!

Went there to eat as usual. Unfortunately it's not what it used to be. My burger with double meat was supposed to be cooked medium, but the meat was cooked completely dry, which wasn't great. The rest of the burger was great. We waited a long time for the food, and after the meal we had to wait again for a server, only to get a crème brûlée that tasted of nothing. At least my wife's meal was great, but maybe it just wasn't the chef's day. To then have to wait again for a server so we can pay is a shame. The staff seem overwhelmed, even though it wasn't that busy on a Monday. For the money, I don't know if it's worth another visit.

Other guests who arrived at the same time had long since finished, while we were still waiting. After asking, the children's plates arrived a little earlier, but our food continued to arrive late – without any apology or explanation. It seemed as if our table had simply been forgotten. In the end, we wanted to have a dish we hadn't finished packed up – for which we were charged extra, even though we had already tipped beforehand. That seemed petty and inappropriate after such an event. So…very good food, but the service was disappointing. Unfortunately, it left a bad taste in our mouths – a shame!

We spontaneously stopped by for dinner on Sunday. We easily got a lovely spot by the watercourse, the server was very nice, and the place was heavenly. They served dumplings with roulades. Unfortunately, we'd just come back from eating ice cream, and we only had room for a little something. I had bratwurst with mashed potatoes and sauerkraut, very tasty 😋. I highly recommend the water, which they serve in a carafe with various delicious ingredients. All in all, it was a very successful evening 👍

The ambiance is excellent, and the service attentive (if slightly overwhelmed). The food would have been excellent, too, if a medium-rare beef fillet for around €42 hadn't come out of the kitchen after a nearly 1.5-hour wait, a gray, dry mess. The other steaks at the table were also a notch or two too cooked. They offered to redo it, but after such a long wait and a bedtime-ready child, there simply wasn't time. The alternative excuse (an espresso) is simply a joke given the price. A real shame—I really wanted to like this place.

Anyone looking for a quick, good meal in a cozy atmosphere should stop here. The varied dishes are deliciously prepared, served promptly, and the service is friendly. A stream and beautifully maintained grounds create a wonderful ambiance outside. The only thing I didn't like was the hollandaise sauce, which unfortunately came from a packet.

Sat for a very long time and waited for someone to bring the menu or take our order. In the end we got up and ate something at the Turkish restaurant next door.

We were there for dinner with 3 children and were very friendly given a table without a reservation. The food was very good, really very good, from a varied and unusual menu, but there is something for everyone. The price is absolute t appropriate. I ordered bratwursts online. According to advertising, shipping with cold packs or dry ice. New shipping methods have been tried. I didn't find any dry ice or ice packs in the package. Also no insulation whatsoever. Just an open sheet of plastic. A lot of money for the garbage can. Never again.

A neat, very clean shop; somewhat expensive; Service quick and friendly; Food 1A. Still only 4 points. If you order a steak + side dishes for almost 50 EUR, you can (in my opinion) expect that you won't be charged another 3 EUR for a spoonful of herb butter. But it was on the menu. Otherwise: recommended.

The facility is nice, and given the prices the operator can easily afford it. You are given the card and when you order you hear: Burger... Not today... then a soup... already sold today... so we try a salad with nut dressing. Let's see if at least here the nut dressing is left out due to my allergy. Another restaurant where you are blinded by the good reviews. But in modern Germany it seems to be completely normal... As a tip for other interested parties: the doner kebab directly opposite always has an offer that is available, and you only pay €8-11 per portion, although prices here range from €23-35 (if it is available at all )

I have to be honest: it's incredibly tasty here, very good prices, the service is really nice and you don't have to wait long until you get something or want to order something new. Were there for lunch. Reservations are very important!!! Food was great! My personal recommendation is the "Chausseshaus steak" served in a small cast iron pan with grilled vegetables and dark pepper sauce. Very good quality of meat. In terms of price, it's totally okay. My wife had venison goulash with dumplings. Also very good, everything tender and well seasoned. I can also recommend dumplings as a Thuringian. Delicious! AND you have to try the iced tea!!!! Someone really thought about it! It's great, I've never seen it like that before. Class :-)

Schnitzel mit Schupfnudeln laut Speisekarte 22,50€, wurde auf meinen Wunsch hin abgeändert auf Schnitzel mit Bommes und Spiegeleier, bis hierhin finde ich das sehr nett. Dann kam die Rechnung 30,40€. Das ist in meinen Augen Abzocke und hat nichts mit einem Mehraufwand für die Küche zu tun. 7,90€ für 2 Spiegeleier, wo lebt ihr denn.
