I've been a regular at Insel Bistro in Ahlbeck for years and can say with absolute certainty that it never disappoints. The atmosphere is always welcoming, the staff friendly, and the food excellent. Their doner kebab is simply unbeatable: bursting with flavor, made with fresh ingredients, and served in generous portions. If you want a doner kebab, this is the place to go. The best. This was our second visit, a year apart. We received a very warm welcome and the staff were very friendly. The children were greeted with lollipops even before we had ordered anything. Everyone was offered tea (it's autumn, after all). So far, we've tried the fries dürüm, a large doner plate with fries, another with noodles, and a doner kebab. On our second visit, we also tried the doner with cheese and topping, Turkish pizza with doner meat, and a (small) salad plate. The portions are huge, and the price-performance ratio is excellent. However, for two average-sized eaters, it makes sense to order just one large doner plate. Even with the doner kebab and the dürüm, I would recommend sharing 😀. The overall atmosphere was very pleasant. The food was well-seasoned, all with veal. The garlic sauce was also pleasant and not too strong. If there's any hot sauce, it's not excessively spicy but adds an extra kick. Overall, highly recommended.

Absolutely nice guy and a nice bistro. The doner kebabs we ate were abnormally large, especially for a normal doner kebab. I can definitely recommend it.

We went to the snack bar with our family and were completely satisfied! The service was extremely friendly and welcoming, and our children were also treated with care and attention. The food was truly delicious – the doner kebab, the rollo doner kebab, and the lahmacun were freshly prepared and very filling. We felt at home and would gladly return. Highly recommended!

Nice kebab shop, but quite expensive compared to Berlin. The kebab was very heavy with too much sauce, making it almost impossible to eat normally—in the end, you could only eat it with a fork, and the bread was completely soaked with soda. It tasted okay, but nothing special.

Yes, I highly recommend this place. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. They offer free tea and free lollipops for the kids. The salads are very large, the kebab is very filling, and the food tastes very good. Everything is justifiable for the price 😊.

Not recommended. The food was terrible. Employees yelled at customers. Closed 20 minutes early.

Ordering was quick, and there wasn't much discussion. The bread was partially blackened and turned to dust in my mouth. The top layer consisted only of meat and more sauce than I've ever seen in my life. Underneath the first layer, there were 95% lettuce, onions, red cabbage, and a small piece of tomato. The other 4.5% was meat and 0.5% sauce.

Hey, we were determined to try a kebab in this part of the country, too. I have to say, it was definitely worth the trek. We can't really understand the negative reviews from the past. The staff and the manager were very friendly and accommodating. Our requests were also taken into account when ordering. My better half got an extra portion of garlic sauce, and I a generous helping of chili flakes. We were able to eat our meals there and enjoyed a small tea, which was on the house. The meat wasn't overly salty and therefore very tasty. If we had any complaints, it would be that the ratio of pasta to salad wasn't quite right. There was too much pasta for the salad in the kebab plate. The price-performance ratio is absolutely fine. We were even able to take the leftovers from the kebab plate home with us for free (with additional packaging). If the tea immediately starts to run through your body, you can even use the restroom there. Overall, we're very happy to give this place 5 stars. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Unfortunately, it wasn't that convincing. The kebab was rather poorly prepared – the meat was quite dry, the bread was only lukewarm, and the vegetables tasted more like they'd come from the refrigerator than fresh. The sauce was okay, but nothing special. Service was as it should be, but not exactly top-notch. But it was quick. The value for money isn't really good for me. I'd rather go somewhere else.

I had a doner kebab. The salad was good, as were the fries, but the doner meat was the worst I've ever eaten in Germany. It simply tasted like a washcloth. Therefore, I would never get a doner kebab here again.

Best falafel kebab in a long time. Great service, decent portion, LOTS of sauce, simply delicious. Even if it wasn't homemade falafel, the kebab was simply delicious. The men who served us were so friendly and attentive, just great. It's better to eat a kebab here than to eat overpriced frozen fish at the beach restaurant!

We were on vacation for a detour to Heringsdorf and of course we got hungry. We hadn't even placed our order yet and we were already offered tea, which we gratefully took. The kebabs were big and really tasty!!! We were also offered tea every now and then and brought straight to the table! Super nice people, great food and great service!!!

Unfortunately, the owner himself smokes and drinks beer in the back kitchen, sitting on a beer crate & everything, while the shop is open. Everything can be seen from the outside for every guest. The health department should take a look.

Very attentive, very hospitable! Food top. Fries are crispy, lightly salted and nice and soft on the inside. The Big Döner 9€ shown in the picture is a breaker! Meat juicy and tasty not too overly seasoned. The bread is thin and crispy. Lots of fresh salad, lots of meat and, most importantly, there is more than enough sauce on it. It was simply a top kebab and it's worth the €9.

A very, very tasty and well-filled kebab. Our women ate a normal kebab and we men ate a big kebab!!! really well filled, very fresh vegetables, delicious sauces and delicious meat and bread. There were also fries to snack on. Definitely recommended, very well attended (slightly longer waiting time)

We got two kebabs there on a Saturday evening because of the good reviews. The price was justified for the quantity, unfortunately the taste was disappointing. Something in the kebab tasted very musty, which made the whole kebab inedible.

We got 2 kebabs there. I really can't understand some of the reviews. The boss tries his best to make everything good, but it doesn't change the taste. Something tasted musty in both kebabs. Was it the sauce? Was it the salad? God knows. But I didn't like it and won't get anything there again

Food was very tasty. The only negative thing I found was that I wanted to order a kebab for my son (9) with only herb sauce and meat and there was no way I could change the price. I said extra is for a child but he doesn't care. I can take it with me again, but I have no way of warming it up again. Then I had to pay an additional 2 euros more because of the meat. So at the end of the song 10 euros for the kebab and half wasn't eaten as expected.

The portions are really huge and hard to manage, even for good eaters. The owner is super friendly to everyone, even when there is a lot going on, and responds to all requests. We came here specifically because the child wanted a kebab and we didn't regret it. Really worth the money! Since he's alone, it might take a while if it's busy, but it's worth it if you want a good fresh kebab. Great thank you!

So, me and my squad spent most of the time in line. After 50 minutes it was finally our turn. It took another 10 minutes until all the food was ready. When one of the boys asked for napkins, he was ignored for the first time for three minutes. When the ambient employee finally noticed that he had asked a question, she went to the back and looked at her feet with her cell phone flashlight. (We didn't get any napkins...) After we survived this crisis, all the kebabs fell apart. (One of my companions looked like a monster with all the sauce he had on his face) After we ate the food, we have to say that the experience was so bad that it's good again. The kebab tasted okay, except for the pieces of veal that were burnt and undercooked. Overall pretty bad experience.

Rude service for a customer who dosent speak German. We wanted to place an order in English - the man shouted that there were Germans here and we should speak German. We left. I do not recommend.

The owner's service is top notch. The women who work there are really beneath all dignity. Standing there, watching him struggle to complete the full load. They didn't make a move. The man does everything alone. But it tasted very, very good, and a lot too. Kudos to him...the employees should be ashamed of themselves

So first of all, the staff is very, very friendly. As a holidaymaker, you are looked after very politely and very persistently, which means that when you asked what should be on the kebab, they were very patient. Regarding the food, I am a good eater and I didn't finish my big kebab. So the price/performance ratio is also good. Ambiance therefore only 4 stars too few seating options but we took our food with us! We'd love to come back.

This bistro is absolutely not recommended for dog owners, especially those who *brazenly* have their dogs with them 👎🏼👎🏽👎🏿 We weren't even allowed to order anything and were sent straight back out. Very unfriendly, understandable that there wasn't even a table occupied... Thank you for that 🥴 Luckily there is a lot of competition where the dog even has his water bowl as the first one at the table 🥰. Before the dog owners get the menu 😉......

The food was delicious and the portions were large, but it was also very expensive. I would have preferred to pay less and have a smaller portion, even as a good eater it was almost impossible to manage. I thought it was a shame that we were charged for a whole plate of kebab when we asked for an extra plate for the toddler in the kebab box (for practical reasons). So we paid twice as much for the same amount. In addition, the difference between the small and large plates was hardly noticeable

Best kebab outside of Thuringia. Really tasty. And I liked that the cucumbers were cut smaller. Friendly service. You immediately feel at home with the gentlemen. Keep it up.

So you can't complain here!!! Everything perfect. Ambiance is good, portions are huge*; friendly staff and ok price. We got a kebab there twice. You can choose fresh and side dishes. The price is a little higher, but see*. Cleanliness in the snack bar was very good, as was the ambience. Plants on the window sills complete this. Now for* You can't say anything about the price or you can, The kebab served is unbearable, it's even enough for 2. Very, very rich. Maybe some food for thought for the operator(s): Maybe go down in price by €2 and not a mammoth kebab. It will definitely be well received by many. It's a shame when there's too much and you throw it away. Otherwise, always happy again, we have learned 1 kebab for 2 :-) completely adequate. Keep it up

Very good kabab, great roll - crispy and fresh. A solid portion, lots of well-prepared meat. However, what is worth mentioning is the great service. A very nice gentleman (probably the owner). We didn't have any cash, the gentleman told us how to withdraw cash from a nearby store and in the meantime he prepared food. We got Turkish tea, a banana for the baby and lollipops. All in a pleasant atmosphere that cannot be found in similar establishments in Poland. I would come back if I was closer.

Best kebab on the island. The staff is totally hospitable and offers Turkish tea to pass the waiting time. Kebab and kebab plates were tasty and the portion size was huge. When we are on Usedom, the bistro is our number one port of call when we need kebab.
