Indian Ocean Restaurant & Bar in Münster

Unfortunately, our 20-minute visit took place exclusively in front of the door. Despite reserving a table for two people, which had been confirmed online, we were asked to wait at the door to check the reservation. When after 10 minutes no one had answered, we asked again and were told that a table would be available in 2 minutes. After a few more minutes we were actually offered 2 seats, but unfortunately they were at a table with other guests. We refused and left the restaurant because we couldn't be offered a table despite making a reservation early. Service and communication absolutely poor.

We spontaneously ended up in this restaurant and were skeptical because we had already tried two Indian restaurants in Münster and were disappointed with the taste. In this restaurant we deliberately chose two menus (1x vegetarian + 1x meat). These 3-course dinners were varied and were rounded off with numerous small bowls of various side dishes and naam and were very lavish and tasty with a soup + appetizers as a starter and dessert at the end. Not too spicy and no other over-seasoning, like the other two providers. The only downside were the cocktails - there is obviously a lack of knowledge about how these classics are mixed. We had Negroni and Mai Thai and both were offered with measuring cups in a ratio of 1x1x1 with alcohol that was far too strong and sometimes barely edible. Therefore minus 1 star 🤷🏻‍♂️ It's better to order non-alcohol, a beer or wine. Otherwise very pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff We'll definitely be back👍🏻

Super delicious food with a lot of selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes. Food is also recommended by a friend who comes from India. Ambiance doesn't seem quite as harmonious and tidy. It sometimes happens that you have to wait longer for the food, but it's worth it. Come over

Delicious! Service was also good. The sauces were really nicely seasoned and all in all tasted really good. Perfect for eating something outside when the weather is nice. Prices, like everywhere else these days, are on the higher side, but definitely still reasonable. It's just a restaurant and not a snack bar.

You want to pick up an order over the phone, poor knowledge of German. The waiter wanted to wait for a table for 4 people. It took a while until the misunderstanding could be cleared up. Restaurant very well attended, food top. Gladly again.

We were at Indian Ocean for the first time today and were very impressed by the friendly service and the really delicious food. We had numbers 93 and 94. Both rice dishes with chicken and one dish with lamb. Delicious sauces and a small, sweet dessert were served. We also ordered some kind of flatbread. The portions were plentiful and tasty. The prices were reasonable. This was definitely not the last visit to the restaurant.

Very tasty dishes. Hit the jackpot with chili chicken. Great curry taste and just the right level of spiciness for me personally. Simply equipped but functional.

Unfortunately, our visit was not satisfactory for the following reasons: 1. The skinny two people. Portion of rice was outrageous! We paid €47 including 2x mango lassi and only got a small plate with so little rice that we initially thought the second plate would definitely come right away. We weren't full. We have been to Indian restaurants many times so we know the appropriate amount. My boyfriend, as a man, ate less rice than I did for my sake. 2. The staff doesn't speak German, so my simple questions about the menu were dismissed with "Yes/Ok". 3. Due to the lack of understanding of the language, the food did not come as expected. This also happened at another table. When the nice gentleman at the next table pointed out to us that we should let the kitchen know again that we wanted our masala dish spicy, as unfortunately this was no longer possible. I then did this. When our two dishes arrived, the waitress explained to us in English that unfortunately this was no longer possible as we didn't mention it. Just like she told the other guests at the next table. This item was misunderstood on the menu. WHY don't you as a waitress pay attention to the right questions when taking an order? And why didn't she at least do it with us, since this misunderstanding had already occurred at the next table a few minutes earlier. EXCEPT FROM THE GENERAL CAUSE OF GOODNESS. There were only a few tables occupied at the time, there was time to fulfill this wish and in terms of costs it was really not an issue to at least stir in this simple hot tomato and yoghurt sauce while it was still warm. But they preferred it with "BUT YOU" to argue. First and foremost, the staff should at least understand the relevant words in German in order to give the guest the opportunity to communicate. I leave two stars because they weren't unfriendly. Addendum to the comment: It's all the more annoying to find out later that you could reorder the rice for free. It is YOUR job to inform the guest about this. But I already mentioned that simple communication was not possible.

I wanted lunch and went to this restaurant because Google Maps said it was open. When I arrived I saw a sign saying it was closed until 5pm. In the end I wasted time and stayed hungry. I'm only giving one star because the restaurant staff didn't take care to correctly display the opening hours on Google Maps.

All you can ear lunch buffet is recommended - Usually four dishes, with rice and naan, a bit of everything and not too spicy ;) Offer until 2 p.m. for around 12 euros

After completing my linux certification exam I was hungry.so I choose an Indian restaurant.This one is amazing.the taste is delicious.I met Mr.Vincent,the cook and appreciated him.the service and ambience is very good.Highly recommended.

Really great food, fast delivery! We ordered two dishes (one of which can be seen in the picture), which were really delicious. Unfortunately, a drink was forgotten, but after a short inquiry it was quickly delivered with a small compensation!

If I could I wouldn't even give it one star! We were here for the lunch buffet.. the food was inedible, the “chicken fillet” with bones & thighs in the sauce. All 3 dishes were way too spicy (not labeled), so even my friends (who like spicy food) couldn't eat them. Even despite the waiter serving yoghurt... the naan bread was hard chips. So all 3 of us only ate 2 forks from our plate and still had to pay the FULL price for the buffet - absolute disgrace!! The atmosphere was also very uncomfortable, simple and there was only one other table next to us occupied. AVOID THIS STORE! No, I'm not from the competition! :D As always, look for faults in others.. The waitress was super nice & accommodating & unfortunately - when we asked the owner - she had to charge us 3 friends the full price! Absolutely crazy! & we said that it was way too spicy, hence the yoghurt.. :)

We happened to walk by here and were tempted by the lunch buffet with four dishes. Unfortunately the food wasn't good at all. We often eat Indian food, but we have never eaten Indian food so badly. As you can see in the picture, everything was very runny and the naan bread didn't taste good at all. Even though we were there at lunchtime, there was no other table occupied apart from ours.

We ate very well! The staff was super friendly and attentive and the food was really delicious! Happy to come back :) The tables are quite close together but that didn't bother us.

I've been there several times. As a couple or with larger groups, I haven't heard from anyone yet that they didn't like or enjoy it. On the contrary, everyone has always been enthusiastic.

Food was tasty, but nothing memorable. The map is extensive and full of cute translation errors. The service is very friendly and pleasantly reserved. Rice was given free of charge. Lots of vegan dishes too, great! A nice evening, without any special features.

Food was great, service was attentive. Unfortunately it's quite tight when all the tables are occupied. We sat right by the door. The door often opened with the Lieferando drivers and other guests and it was uncomfortably cold.

Unfortunately, it wasn't until the food was ordered that we were informed that we could only occupy the table for 90 minutes (that's probably the basic concept of the restaurant) so that as a larger group we didn't have any time for conversation, but rather through the meal “scurried”. Not very relaxing...

So, the food and service are impeccable. There's nothing to complain about. The prices are also completely reasonable. But - the ambience...what can I say? For example, we were sitting near the door and in the middle of the restaurant - and there was a huge draft! In addition, the interior design conveys the feeling of the "good old" train station restaurants (the older reader may remember). Nevertheless - we are definitely willing to go there again. Only then definitely at another table.

It's nice to sit in the Indian Ocean. The biryani was really really good, we will come back for that. Unfortunately the curry was very sweet and just okay. Unfortunately there are no dosas at the moment :( The lassi was also delicious and the food came quickly.

The food is very tasty, however Service was a bit slow and the tables were very close together. There is a wide selection for vegans and vegetarians.

Kleines aber sehr gemütliches Restaurant. Das Essen ist wirklich außergewöhnlich gut und toll gewürzt. Der Service ist sehr höflich und fix. Der Fleischanteil im den Portionen könnte ein bisschen größer sein.

Über UberEats bestellt. Restaurant ruft an und storniert die Bestellung aus technischen Gründen. Mir wird am Telefon gesagt, dass die Bestellung vom Restaurant bei UberEats storniert wird und ich mein Geld zurückerhalte. Ist nach einer Woche nicht passiert. Ich wende mich an UberEats: ich hätte es selbst binnen 48 h stornieren müssen. 30 € weg. Das Restaurant behält das Geld ein. Kontaktanfrage meinerseits wird ignoriert. Wirklich schade. Grenzt m.E. an Betrug.

Everything is just Top Notch. The taste of the food is out of this world and it makes me visit more often. Kudos to the Team and the Boss♥️

alles in allem eine durchschnittliche Erfahrung, die aber nicht als besonders gut in Erinnerung geblieben ist. Wir waren kurz vor Weihnachten dort zu zweit essen. Der Service war freundlich und bemüht. Die Lichterkette am Fenster hat so schnell geblinkt, das es schon fast gestört hat. Das Ambiente ist ok, aber nicht sonderlich hochwertig. Das Essen war ok, aber ich habe schon besser Indisch gegessen (ich hatte chicken korma). Nachdem ich in allen bekannten indisch/nepalesischen Restaurants in Münster war, würde ich ganz klar das Namaste empfehlen (gleiche Preise wie das Indian Ocean, aber deutlich besseres Essen und etwas schickeres Ambiente). Wer günstig Essen möchte, dem kann ich das Merro Budda empfehlen. Alles in allem werde ich wahrscheinlich nicht nochmal zum Indian Ocean kommen, da es bessere Alternativen gibt.

Hey this is the best Indian restaurant in Münster. We visited this place on Thursday, we really loved the food and service. Definitely we will visit again. And also the service guys helped us to find a Parkplatz nearby.

Even during a fully booked evening the staff guarantees good service and is very friendly. The food and drinks taste very good and are prepared with care. They make an effort to welcome everyone and succeed, the atmosphere is great :) Would definitely visit again on another trip to Münster!

Leckeres Essen, hat wieder super geschmeckt. Service war schon mal aufmerksamer Bezahlung mit Karte war mit großen Problemen behaftet. Letztlich bar bezahlt, bin gespannt ob auch noch abgebucht wird Da wir sonst immer sehr gut zufrieden waren, werden wir weiterhin dort hingehen

Als mein Mann und ich unser Abendessen bei Ubereats bestellten, gab es eine Panne mit dem Uber-Service. Unsere Bestellung wurde erst eine Stunde später geliefert. Wir waren zunächst verärgert, aber Mani, der Besitzer, war äußerst taktvoll und höflich. Sein Restaurant befand sich in einer sehr schwierigen Situation, und dennoch gelang es ihm, Ruhe zu bewahren und die Frustration seiner hungrigen Kunden zu lindern. Das Essen war köstlich! Die Samosas waren ziemlich groß und mit einer sehr schmackhaften Gemüsemischung gefüllt. Auch das Navratan Korma war sehr lecker. Es war süß, aber nicht zu stark und mit viel Gemüse! Wir haben inzwischen auch das Gemüsebriyani probiert und freuen uns darauf, es in Zukunft wieder zu bestellen. In einer Situation, in der wir hätten beschließen können, nie wieder in einem Restaurant zu essen, haben Mani und sein köstliches Essen es geschafft, uns zu Langzeitkunden zu machen.

Spitze, zweitbester Inder von Münster. Etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig ist der Service mit den Beepern am Tisch

Gemütlich oder wie man sich ein indisches Lokal vorstellt, ist es nicht. Reservierungen gehen nur online, und leider auch hier im 2-Schichten-Modus, d.h. man hat 1 1/2 Stunden Zeit und muss dann das Lokal verlassen. Das Essen hat geschmeckt, war für mich aber etwas knapp bemessen, eine Vorspeise wäre gut gewesen. Nur einer der Kellner konnte deutsch, bei den anderen ging es mit Englisch. Insgesamt war ich eher enttäuscht von dem Abend. Große Auswahl an veganen und vegetarischen Gerichten, an Fleisch gibt es Huhn und Lamm, so ca. 8 Gerichte, der Rest vegan/vegetarisch.

Jetzt war ich mit einem Freund zusammen hier. Wir hatten das Mittagsbuffet. Geschmacklich gut, manches sogar sehr gut. Preis und Leistung waren in Ordnung, das Essen war wirklich günstig. Besonders hervorzuheben ist der überaus freundliche, aber manchmal etwas unaufmerksame Service. Das Ambiente finde ich verbesserungswürdig, es ist relativ dunkel, die Tische stehen eng und es wirkt nicht alles tip top sauber. Trotzdem, insgesamt war es in Ordnung!

Hey! Last weekend I celebrated my 25th Birthday party at this Restaurant. The staff was very very nice, kind and patient. They made my friends and my family feel soo comfortable! The food was amazing and everybody just loved it! The service was absolutely perfect! The ambience was really calm, with good and cozy Indian music in the background. Wow, dieser Ort ist einfach wunderschön! Und das Beste ist, sie bieten ein großartiges Mittagsbuffet für nur 11€ an! Mein Mann und ich haben beschlossen, dass wir hier regelmäßig hinkommen werden. Das Essen ist so lecker, es ist ein wahrer Genuss für den Gaumen! 😋

Das Butter Chicken ist einfach ein Traum - perfekt gewürzt! Und das Personal ist sehr aufmerksam, zuvorkommend und gut gelaunt. Wir kommen zweifellos wieder 👏🏽

Während das Essen lecker - wenn auch von der Menge her recht überschaubar - war, ließ der Service zu wünschen übrig und wirkte ziemlich überfordert. Verstehensprobleme, lange Wartezeit bei Getränken trugen nicht zu einem besonders tollen Abend bei.

Very tasty and authentic Indian Food. A must try at Münster.

Wir waren an einem Dienstagabend hier und das Restaurant war voll. Obwohl wir keine Reservierung hatten, mussten wir nicht lange auf einen freien Tisch warten. Der Service war sehr freundlich, gute Englischkenntnisse sind aber von Vorteil. Das Essen war sehr schmackhaft, die Portionen angemessen groß. Jeder von uns hatte eine Vorspeise und ein Chickengericht als Hauptgang, dazu je ein Mangolassi. Das Restaurant besteht aus nur einem hallenartigen Gastraum, dadurch ist es sehr laut. Auch sind die Tische sehr eng gestellt. Wenn man aufsteht muss man aufpassen, dass man mit der Jacke nicht im Teller des Nachbarn landet.

Wir haben über Lieferando bestellt und ich bin wirklich enttäuscht. Das Chili Paneer schmeckt einfach nur wie erwärmte süßsaure Sauce aus dem Supermarkt. Das Naanbrot war leider noch zu großen Teilen nicht durchgebacken. Für den Preis (37€) nicht in Ordnung

Most things they have in the menu is not available. The quality was below average, food was salty. I would not recommend it anyone looking for authentic indian food. However the service was great and the employees were really friendly.

Das Essen und der Service waren super. Leider hatten wir einen kleinen Tisch mitten drin und es war etwas störend, da es dort sehr eng war und man ständig Taschen, Jacken, Rucksäcke, etc abbekam. Bei der nächsten Teservierung werde ich angeben, dass wir dort nicht sitzen wollen. So konnten wir das sehr leckere Essen nicht ganz so schön genießen.

Super lecker gute Bedienung es war ein schöner Abend.

Ich hatte " hausgemachte Pilzkoteletts"- mushroom chops bestellt. Bekommen habe ich in Scheiben geschnittene Pilze in einer (leckeren) Currysauce! Da hatte ich mir was anderes vorgestellt!😠 Für 15,50 Euro. War sehr enttäuscht!

Der Mittagsbuffet fande ich sehr gut. Klassische indische basics, gut gemacht zu einem fairen, sogar günstiger Preis. Die Bedienung sehr freundlich.

Leckeres Essen und sehr freundliches Personal...

Fangen wir mit dem Besten an: Der Service war sehr freundlich! Wir haben dieses Restaurant auf Grund eines 2-für-1-Gutscheins ausprobiert. Das Restaurant ist sehr eng mit Tischen besetzt. Leider gab es keinen (aus anderen indischen Restaurants gewohnten) Gruß aus der Küche. Das Palak Paneer war geschmacklich OK, sah aber aus wie Windelinhalt nach Spinatgenuss. Als wir bezahlen wollten, mussten wir ziemlich lange warten. Den Servicerufknopf am Tisch schien nicht zu funktionieren.

Das ist mit Abstand mein Lieblingsrestaurant in Münster. Ich war schon mehrfach da und fand jedes Gericht was ich gegessen sehr lecker und authentisch. Der Service ist zuvorkommend und freundlich.
