Il moro in Berlin

I've fallen in love with the pagnotta (that crunchy goodness of flavorful crispness), but the pizza is also excellent. The dough, and I do not say this lightly, is exceptional. You can taste that it was given time to ferment fully, and it's absolutely worth it.

Amazing place, the waiter is the best and the food tastes amazing but is getting a bit pricy. Keep it simple, we love pizza but not for an arm and a leg. Not sure if will go back.

Definitely one of the best most original Italian restaurant in Berlin

Three French women on the move who really enjoyed their meal, excellent cuisine, top-notch service! The Tiramisu is to die for. We loved it 😊

I went yesterday for the first time after a friend suggested it. Brought in 5 collegues from basically all over the world. Each of them was completly satisfied, including me. The food is super good, pizza is one of the best I tried in my 3 years Berlin experience, great and humble people working there. Not the usual pretentious place, but an actual real good restaurant with really good food.

Visiting Italy. We were thrilled and ate deliciously. Pizza and pasta was great! (I had a Parma ham pizza with burrata🤤)

I had dinner at "Il Moro" and I must say that the pizza was truly exceptional. In particular, the one with pistachio was a real delight - tasty, crunchy and with a perfect balance of flavours. If you are a pizza lover, this place is absolutely not to be missed

Incredibly delicious food. Super nice, pleasant staff. It was a dream for me! Especially because there are good vegan, vegetarian and lactose-free options, but also super tasty meat. I ate the Pagnotta Simona. With vegan mozzarella instead of normal, but with meat. An absolute dream!

We spontaneously reserved a table here and were not disappointed. Apart from a slightly brisk, averted greeting with an attitude at the counter, the service was very attentive and absolutely courteous. The food, from the starter (bruschetta and arancino), the main course (pasta with ragu) to the dessert (tiramisu), is really (REALLY!) tasty and of probably the best/most authentic Italian cuisine you can find in this city I can get it or I have been allowed to eat it so far. Thanks for that and a high five to the kitchen! Price/performance is absolutely reasonable, because all in all (for two with 3 courses, a bottle of wine and water) we came out of the store well-fed and happy with just under 90 euros. Delicious. They even made carbonara for my son even though it's not on the menu. And it was REALLY good.

edit.2: Osso Bucco?! oh my god!!!! who else serves osso bucco? this was amazing! edit: One of the absolute best italiens in Berlin!!! (have u tried sicilian food in sicily?? well this is as close as it gets!!! 💯) “The food, the People, the coffee!” -all the things u would say if you went to Italy.

Really sublime pasta with pistachio pesto and prawns. Perfect tiramisu. Very nice atmosphere and place. Friendly staff. Hearty. Well done! Possibility of eating or having a drink outside while waiting for a table inside.

Authentic simple Italian food. Good portions but a bit overpriced. The atmosphere was a bit noisy and smoky for a restaurant. Great service though

This restaurant in Berlin was a wonderful surprise, we were looking for an Italian restaurant because they wanted pizza and we were super satisfied, top dough 🙂

The pizza is an average level, even considering staying abroad. I don't know about the other dishes, but I saw that the prices are high. Good service and environment. All in all and considering that they only accept cash money, the review is unfortunately negative. Not recommended!

Incredibly unfriendly, pizza was fine but nothing special. Cash only…. come on its 2024. Edit: and whats with the racist vases in the windows?

Pasta was excellent. But the atmosphere left something to be desired. Not paying by card is no longer appropriate, especially because it is so expensive here. How much cash should I have with me at all times??? In addition, the door to the toilet is constantly open.

I couldn't try the daily dishes as they were sold out. Had the pizza which was for sure good but not amazing as others are at similar price points (Gazzo, Malafemmena). Will come back to try and taste other dishes.

I had never had a "pagnotta" before, but boy, that did not disappoint.

A slightly different atmosphere than the typical Italian restaurant. We had grilled octopus and pasta with shrimp and it was fantastic. The tiramisu finale was a successful conclusion. We'd love to come back.

amazing amazing grilled octopus and champagne, pizza and tiramisu. i think we sat there for two hours. (maybe one small critique was that the music playlist was going in all kinds of directions and sometimes felt not so fitting to the environment.)

Friendly staff, cosy interior and very special pizza dough, the chef was keen to explain how they make the flour for it. Definitely give it a try.

Went here for dinner on a weekday. The service, a young woman, was very friendly and attentive. She’s great! The restaurant has a cozy and charming vibe. Prices are fair, and the menu is not inflated. The owner/chef is aggressive and rude!! We had pasta alla norma, which was very good (!), and a Gourmet Salad, which was very disappointing, since it was very small and consisted mostly of ice Berg Salat and carrots, one rolled up eggplant stripe, one rolled up squash stripe, bits of mozzarella and tomatoes. Not gourmet, not filling for 12€. As a starter we ordered Caponata which is supposed to come with foccacia according to their menu. Price is quite high with 15€ (!). The dish was served with the caponata being stuffed in a regular sourdough bun and the portion was tiny tiny tiny considering the price. We send the dish back since we ordered it with Foccacia. Then this happened, which is the reason for our rating: The owner and chef of the place came out aggressive and angry and pushed us to take the dish since „it’s on the menu like this“ which is kindly explained and showed it’s not. Only before he said „it’s the same dough like a foccacia“ biggest lol ever. And „we’re out of foccacia“. How can an Italian compare a sourdough bun with a foccacia based on some similar ingredients? The worst was the tone of the guy and how aggressive he was in front of lots of other guest. He could have instead offered free olives or an Arranchini or so and solved the situation in the interest of his guests. But instead he made us feel super uncomfortable and ruined the vibe. Flipping over this complaint? You’re in the wrong business… Not recommended after all because of this rudeness!!

Nice food, decent prices and ok atmosphere. The lady serving was very polite but it took forever to serve us. Im not talking like 30' wait - we were eaiting for over an hour to get served. It really ruined the experience.

It was a fantastic experience. The food was delicious and it was the same as in Sicily. Dont miss out the Etna Rosso vine.

I'm sorry to give only 3 stars but unfortunately the experience at this restaurant was not too pleasant. The environment is small and the interior is very hot, the service unfortunately had some shortcomings (although the waiter was very kind), but what disappointed most of all was the waiting time. An hour for two pizzas and an arancino. We had ordered an arancini with ragù, after an hour they tell us that the arancini with ragù are finished and there are only spinach ones. My pizza arrived completely charred, I brought it back and they made me a new one. To apologize they then offered a free tiramisu, which was pleasantly accepted. It's a shame because the flavor of the pizza was good anyway, but for the experience I definitely wouldn't return.

Il Moro now has to be one of my top pizza restaurants in Berlin! We had three pizzas Margherita, Buffalo Mozzarella and pizza of the day which was gorgonzola, mozzarella, burratta, mortadella and pistachio sprinkled over the top ( if you don't have it on menu ask for it as an off menu item) which was totally see decedent and rich . Wine was a good range, try the Rose which was super delicious and good pairing with the pizza. Staff are super nice, great atmosphere.

Absolutely amazing experience, you could feel the passion in the food, deliciously made. Took the pagnota with nduja and the napoli pizza. Nothing to add apart from being one of the most delightful doughs you could ever come across with beautiful products. Service like nowhere in Berlin for the price, friendly and charming waiter. Recommend highly and a must see in Berlin.

Neat and friendly restaurant in the heart of friedrichshain, we’ve been a couple of times and all the foods we tried were great, also, very friendly and competent staff. Will go back again! Edit: it’s become one of our favourites in the neighbourhood! Food never disappointed and what a team of lovely people!

The pagnotta with mortadella is very very good 👌🏼I asked if pagnotta is a regional thing in Italy and the server said the chef invented it. Bravo

Great pizza, simple and full of flavor

We've had a few pizzas lately and these were some of the best. The appetizers were also great. Absolute recommendation!

Ambience is fine, basic I would say. It's totally clear. Food is good too, but the portions are somehow… a little, although not much, too small. A pity! Service is great, you can pay by card or contactless. A good, solid Italian restaurant in the middle of Friedrichshain.

We have ordered two pizzas with nduja but we have got basically two Margheritas. Please it won't cost you way much more to actually put nduja on the pizza so I can at least feel I ordered something spicy. Also it's 15€ each.

The food and the atmosphere is great but, the service from Paola is fabulous. She’s doing all, bar and waiting in same time but, she still has the time to explain the dish and serve the wine. She’s always in a good mood a big smile on her face. We are looking forward to come back again. The best Italian restaurant ever. P.s wines by glass can be a bit cheaper

Esperienza da 5 stelle meritate, sia per il servizio che per le pizze. Anche se il locale era pieno l'attesa è stata praticamente zero. Il personale è molto friendly ma attento. Non ci sono molte pizze nel menù, ma quelle che abbiamo scelto eran ottime, e con prezzi più bassi rispetto ad altre pizzerie. La prossima volta proviamo la cucina.

They were so kind to serve us even if it was late, something that never happens in Berlin! The food was amazing, traditional recipes and flavors. We had Pecorino white wine, also very good and from Sicily.

Uh! I‘m so happy this arrived in the neighborhood. Finally a decent, original italian restaurant close by. All the dishes we tried were seriously good. Like really good. In F‘hain, I haven‘t had a better, more original, more wholesome experience in terms of italian food. Go!

Schönes kleines italienisches Restaurant. Wir hatten Pagnotta und sardisches Bier. Alles super lecker und frisch. Der Service war sehr freundlich und schnell! Sehr empfehlenswert.

Pour déguster des Arancinis, boules frites de risotto fourrées aux légumes ou à la viande. C’est comme se retrouver sur une place à Catania en Sicile.

Ich war gestern anlässlich meines Geburtstags mit meiner Familie hier und war wie immer begeistert. Man ist hier super herzlich und freundlich, kinderfreundlich und das Essen ist super lecker. Meine sizilianischen Eltern haben sich sehr wohl gefühlt und fanden das Essen top! Ich werde weiterhin mir meine Kindheitserinnerungen an Sizilien hier auf dem Teller abholen!

아란치니 라구 테이크아웃으로 먹었는데 내 생애 가장 맛없는 아란치니. 주문한지 3분도 안 돼서 나왔는데 맛이 살짝 쉰 느낌도 있고, 오래 된 걸 준 건가.

Absolutely try the parmigiana di melanzane and the pizza. Both food and drinks were great, and the staff working the shift was very nice too, attentive and polite. 100% would recommend!

Edit 2023: Still delicious, I adored the Pagnotta. Cute and fast service. Drinks are a bit expensive, but the terrace is a perfect people-watching spot. 2021: Bonne pizzas, pas la meilleure, mais solide. Service sympa, rapide, pas trop cher.
