A very successful and thoughtful Valentine's Day menu. The venison and chestnut ravioli and the strawberry tiramisu were very good. The tomato ragù for the appetizer could have been a bit more spicy, but it was still delicious. The service was warm, courteous, and prompt. Thank you for a lovely evening!

You get rucola on every meal, the pizza was average.

Went there for a dinner date and it was really good. First of the service is absolutely fantastic 👏. Very attentive, not pushy and extremely friendly but also very professional. I unfortunately have to mention that I found a hair in the soup. When I told the waiter, he immediately apologized and you could tell he actually cared. Removed the plate right away and brought a fresh made one which was even better made than the first one. It's embarrassing but to be honest sometimes mistakes just happen. How they handled the situation and the overall quality of the food was top notch. The atmosphere is very nice and cozy and I like the interior design and style of the location. I'd come back and I recommend this restaurant.

We were there on the recommendation of my wife, who was able to experience her practice's Christmas party there... so today (yesterday) we were there to celebrate my daughter's 20th birthday. And what can I say? Great ambience, such attentive and extremely friendly service, excellent food of above-average quality (the desserts!) and at the same time very pleasantly priced! We felt completely at home... and when the service person said goodbye to us personally because his shift was ending, we were blown away. Such a beautiful location with great service and food...what more could you (we) want? Just...nothing! A big thank you goes out to the "Sale e Pane"...we'll be back...and VERY happy!

Addendum from 02/14/25: I was convinced to visit Sale e Pane for a second time! My meal (Penne con Manzo) was quite successful, the sauce for the pasta was delicious and sufficient. Because we didn't have a table reservation, we had a time slot of 2 hours, so there was no time for a later dessert. The friendly service really had their hands full on Valentine's Day yesterday! THANKS to the owner for positively accepting my review from January! - I'll be back...Best regards! --------------------------------- Review from 01/10/25: The restaurant has a nice atmosphere but the taste of the food didn't convince me (Pizza Verde - Spinach/Gorgonzola) as it was sparsely topped. The dessert was also a bit 'lacking in taste', as only a maximum of 1 tablespoon of wild berry sauce was drizzled over it. When I asked, I was told that this was the standard. The request for additional sauce was ultimately ignored. The waiter was also a bit condescending. Probably had a bad day. The restaurant was well filled. In the end, no repeat there for me.

A really, really good Italian restaurant with a very nice owner. The food is excellent and, as a real Martin would say, delicate. Service is top. Reservations are advisable, even during the week! Very well attended and that simply speaks for the quality of the food. We reserved a table for four people and suddenly there were five of us. But it wasn't a problem or issue for the staff; even though the store was full, a solution was found promptly. And all without meh and moo. Great, just great. Please don't lose the service, that's what sets you apart. Paying by card is no problem at all. I was just sorry because the staff couldn't book a tip via the debit machine, but my dear friends still had change left over ;) See you next time The Martin

Comfortable restaurant with decent food.

Ambience is too good and well maintained quality of services and cuisines..... Good place for parties and family time.......... Prices are reasonable according to the menu..

This lovely restaurant was recommended to us by a friend who lives in the area - and I'm glad we gave it a try! Great Italian food, very high quality for a reasonable and fair price. The wine selection is excellent, and even though it was busy, the service was friendly and attentive, making us feel like we'd been there several times before - so welcoming and stylish. We were lucky to get a table for 2, but next time we will definitely reserve a table. Very impressive experience in a relaxed, cozy atmosphere. Gladly again!

The impressive ambience was just a foretaste of a thoroughly successful evening. We have been guests a few times before and each time we have been thrilled with the consistent quality of the service and especially the food. Our birthday party today with 16 people was an absolute highlight. Starting with the appetizer platters, through the perfectly prepared main courses, to the desserts, the evening was a complete success! Today, “Sale e Pane” has definitely established itself as our regular Italian restaurant. Many thanks again from us to the entire team!

It was very loud. The food was good - but the portions were very small. (Main course) Service (there were enough staff available) Unfortunately it wasn't good for us that day. We had to point out several times that we would like to drink something more. Unfortunately we didn't feel very welcome that evening. The schnapps was on the house for our neighboring tables, but unfortunately not for us?! Payment was not made at the table but at the waiter's counter. It's a shame because it's a really nice restaurant in a cool area.

No restaurant for young widows! As a single person, I politely asked for a table and said I was alone. They looked and then gave me a table. I ordered my meal, which is really very good and when I was finished I wanted to end the evening of course. It's not like I go out to eat all the time. This is of course something special that you treat yourself to. And for me, it was the first time I tried to do it all on my own. Now when I ordered another drink I was asked how long I wanted to stay because there was already a couple walking around who had reserved the table. There was no sign and no one told me that I only had 45 mini I have time to “complete” my visit to the restaurant. I was so angry, of course I didn't want to drink anymore! I had already chosen something for dessert, but wanted to let the main course sink in first. Well, my very first lonely visit to a restaurant, which was supposed to be good for me and help me treat myself, turned into a disaster! Of course I wanted to pay immediately and then left without a word! What kind of service is this?? They could have told me that the table would be reserved from xxpm and let me decide for myself whether I still wanted the table. But instead throwing me out of the restaurant after 45 minutes is an outrage! As a young widow, what did I take away from this evening? Going to a restaurant alone is just cruel! So I guess all I have left is the couch... like usual. You should be ashamed of this “service”! No matter how good the food tastes, the customer is king and should be treated as such!

This has been my favorite Italian restaurant for years. We have now moved a little further away and still go to Steglitz at least twice a month just to be able to eat here. Every birthday is celebrated here! We are thrilled! Not just from the food, but also from the great service and the warmth of the owner and the team. We can fully recommend Sale e pane!

The food was very good. It is rare that we go out to dinner and everyone likes what they ordered. The service was nice, we sat outside and enjoyed a very nice dinner in the warm summer weather. My salad con pollo was very good.

Sale e Pane is just a great place! As a regular customer, I can say that the quality of the food is always excellent. The food is always freshly prepared and incredibly tasty. The selection of dishes is varied and there is something for every taste. I would particularly like to highlight the incredibly friendly staff. The team is always friendly, accommodating and makes you feel welcome. The boss and his wife always have a smile on their faces and manage to delight every guest with their warmth. Whether for a quick snack or a leisurely meal with friends - Sale e Pane is my first choice. Absolutely recommended!

Formerly one of the best restaurants in Steglitz. Unfortunately some of the quality has been lost today. I really enjoyed eating the pepper steak here, but I've been disappointed the last three times. Supplements no longer convince me. Just some standard vegetables, previously very tasty dressed leaf spinach. Pepper sauce was lumpy, for me it used to be one of the best cognac white wine sauces in Berlin. For the meat, the fillet was replaced with rump steak. Used normal mozzarella instead of buffalo mozzarella for the starter. Unfortunately, you can see the cost-cutting measures and it's a shame that the restaurant is developing like this.

Great Italian restaurant in Steglitz! Very tasty food, extremely good service and a great atmosphere inside and outside. All at very moderate prices. A highlight on every one of our Berlin trips! Same again today. Aperitif, antipasti, "just a (very good) pizza", dessert and espresso... a successful evening outside in the summer evening weather... Booking a table is recommended. Even if we were lucky today and were able to enjoy it without a reservation.

The pizza is extremely tasty, but is cut in a criminal way.

Pizzas are usually OK, pasta depends, antipasti plates absolutely not.

I was there spontaneously with a friend. Despite the bad weather, we sat outside in the covered area. Decorations and the overall presentation were very inviting. The service was very courteous and friendly! Unfortunately, I found the food to be a bit bland, but there were definitely options for seasoning. I had salmon fillet, which was really tender. My girlfriend ordered pizza, which she thought was okay. For the price/performance ratio you can't complain! Therefore 4 stars from us!

A magical team. We were there with a toddler and it was great to see how, without us even saying anything, it was a given that his food came first. In addition, the pizza was specially shaped and you interacted with the little one throughout. The dishes are delicious and the price-performance ratio is good. The team is wonderfully warm and absolutely accommodating.

Angefangen vom Empfang bis hin zur Bedienung und Verabschiedung war alles fantastisch. Das Essen sowie der Trunk waren vorzüglich. Die Kellner waren sehr höflich, aufmerksam und vornehm. Das Ambiente war fantastisch. Alles in allem war es eine sehr positive Erfahrung, die jeder einmal erlebt haben sollte, wenn man in Berlin gut italienisch essen gehen will.
