Great pizza in a beautiful setting with reasonable prices.

Here you'll find good Italian food with friendly service. You'll sit right on the lake with a view of the boats in the harbor.

We arrived at short notice on a Friday evening at 7:45 p.m. and got a table outside with a view of the lake. The servers were very friendly (especially to the kids), and the food was delicious!

A scoop of ice cream for €2 is almost normal, but then I only get one scoop, and there were no waffles either, just cups. On top of that, the ice cream was only mediocre in taste. Unfortunately, I can't think of anything to justify giving it two stars. I definitely won't be coming back.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Il Lago at the harbor in Zwenkau is simply magnificent. The location right on the water with a view of the harbor is stunning and something very special in this area. The food is always excellent, fresh, and prepared with love. The ice cream is delicious and varied, and they always offer special flavors, so we're always surprised. What particularly strikes me is the service. The waiters are always friendly and incredibly attentive. They have a keen sense for what guests need; they often know it before you even think about it. This makes the visit particularly pleasant every time. It's particularly nice that the owner is always there, sits down with the guests, and with his open manner, creates a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The portions are also generous, and the value for money is absolutely spot on. You can tell that they use fresh, high-quality ingredients. Add to that the lovely ambiance: outside, with its view of the harbor, you immediately feel like you're on vacation, and inside, the decor is modern, bright, and cozy. Whether for a romantic dinner, a family outing, or simply a quick ice cream, this is the place to be. The combination of lovely ambiance, great food, attentive service, and the unique view of the harbor makes this restaurant a true favorite for me.

Beautiful view of the lake. The food is okay, but could be improved. Prices are within the usual range. Reserved signs are on all tables. What's the point of that if there aren't any reservations?

The waiters were very rude. We had to wait for minutes just to ask for a free table, and then we were insulted for not having a reservation. I can't comment on the food, but the service was awful.

The restaurant is not child-friendly, as is clearly stated. Other tables that ordered later received their food and drinks much earlier. The wait was incredibly long, even for drinks. The wrong order was served first, and even reordering took forever. Food was shoved into your hand in an unfriendly manner. The service and waiters were unfriendly and made you feel unwelcome. Strangely, tables without children were noticeably friendlier and more accommodating. They also asked more questions and treated customers better. Portions were very inadequate for the price. Not recommended! Never again!!!

The service is okay but not particularly friendly or accommodating. When the card machine is slammed down on the table without a word when paying, I find that disrespectful and inappropriate. The quality of the food was mixed. The bruschetta was okay, pasta with Bolognese tasted great, just a little lacking. The seafood pizza was an absolute disaster. The cheapest seafood mix from the frozen food section. This pizza shouldn't be offered. We pointed this out when we were asked whether it tasted good. The ambience somewhat makes up for it. Top location. It's the quantity that counts, which often affects the quality. There's still room for improvement.

A lunar landscape. The food was OK, but people here expect more than they deserve. The Leipzig area is so hyped, but it's not even there yet.

The service wasn't particularly friendly, there wasn't a proper ice cream menu, but we then discovered that there were other types of ice cream. Later it started raining and we asked the waiter if he could open the umbrella. The waiter's answer was no, it's windy, even though there wasn't any wind at all, and the umbrellas were opened for the other guests. I think that was very disrespectful behavior from the waiters, in my opinion it's not worth a visit!

I highly recommend il Lago. I always enjoy it, whether it's pizza, spaghetti, bruschetta, or the fish soup. The waiters are always attentive and friendly. The view of the harbor from the outdoor seating area is romantic in the evening at sunset.

The location is absolutely fantastic, no question. Unfortunately, the staff is a bit reserved, and you don't really feel welcome. Card payments aren't welcome either, and only accepted for amounts over 30 euros, for whatever reason.

Not really. A scoop of mediocre ice cream costs €2 and is only the size of a €2 coin, which is a joke. They can't even add a light sauce instead of tomato to the salmon pizza when asked. They just come dry for the same price. What do they think they're doing?

We were very satisfied! Based on some other reviews, we were a bit skeptical at first, but we received a friendly welcome, were seated quickly, served immediately, and offered our first drinks. My son wasn't sure what to eat, and the waiter tried to accommodate him by making compromises (adjusting the ingredients). The food we ordered arrived quickly and tasted AMAZING! Personally, I would have liked more pineapple on the Hawaiian pizza, but that's a matter of taste, and we received a free snack before the main course. We found the music a bit too loud, so all the other guests had to raise their voices a bit, but we could still hear each other and were ultimately happy to have eaten there.

Everything was great, as always! We're always happy to come back!

We spent a week in Zwenkau and ate here 4/5 times, and the food was delicious and fresh! The staff are very attentive and courteous 😉never unfriendly, even when the restaurant is full at the moment and they often have to put us off 🥰 The kitchen is also a team effort, because otherwise everything wouldn't work as well... We had a good meal with a beautiful view of Zwenkau Harbor. Luckily, we had a large parasol because it was very hot. There was a pleasant breeze at the harbor, though. The food was good and the prices were OK! Very attentive team, keep up the good work.

...located at the new marina, in a modern setting. The service was friendly and attentive. The food (pizza bread & bruschetta) was perfectly fine. Unfortunately, the wine was a bit too warm, even for a red wine.

Beautifully situated restaurant on the lake. A renaturalized open-cast coal mine. Everything's new, chic vacation apartments, sailing. Not for the average person. Expensive!

The food is delicious, and the service is very attentive. Unfortunately, the restaurant is very noisy when it's full. The reinforced concrete ceiling lacks soundproofing, unlike the restaurant across the street.

A wonderful place to eat and relax!

The pizza was good. Unfortunately, the spaghetti al olio was quite bad; it was too soft, had no flavor, and unfortunately wasn't seasoned as one would expect. Selling yourself as a gelateria, but then not being one, "very strange." The ice cream came with hot cherries, two scoops of ice cream on a dinner plate. Unfortunately, it wasn't worth a second visit.

Definitely recommended. The service is excellent; they take care of their guests without being intrusive. An experience I would repeat again and again.

Having to wait a whole 1.5 hours for spaghetti, even though all the other guests around you are being served, is quite a challenge. Continuing to ignore someone after asking and then later obviously serving us much smaller portions than everyone else is really outrageous. That was definitely our last visit there!

The waiter greeted us rudely and asked us what we wanted. We told him we would like a place for two. Afterwards he left without comment and took care of guests. After a bit of a wait we left. I can't rate food.

Overpriced!!! Mozzarella was missing from the pizza! When asked, this was denied... Tiramisu comes in an ice cream sundae and as a cheap version. I haven't been screwed like this in a long time! The rent is probably so high that the operator needs it. In Italy, even the mafia would turn away in embarrassment. The dessert, on the other hand, tasted excellent and was something different. K.A why they screwed up the typically Italian thing so much.

Unfortunately, we couldn't really enjoy our visit to this ice cream parlor. Although the ice cream tasted good, the service left a lot to be desired. Upon first contact, I asked whether there was an ice cream menu - "No, there isn't," was the waiter's curt answer. When asked which varieties were offered, the only response was: “Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry”. However, it later turned out that there were actually many more varieties. Service and friendly information look different to us. The ice cream sundaes we ordered were then brought with the wrong flavors. When we asked him directly about it, he simply said, "That's just how the boss did it" - without apology or willingness to fix the problem. Even after repeated warnings, he remained sulky and completely uncooperative. Only when we specifically asked did he bring the right flavors - although not in newly made ice cream sundaes, he simply put an extra scoop on everyone's table without asking whether that was okay with us at all. When I pay for something, I want to get what I ordered - not some half-hearted correction that wasn't agreed upon. This matter-of-factness and indifference in dealing with guests really shocked us. It's a shame, because the ice cream itself was delicious - but unfortunately the entire service was anything but hospitable.

Very good restaurant, good service and good food

Food, service, value for money are absolutely top - the ambience is great if you can sit at the harbor, in the restaurant there is a little room for improvement if you sit in the middle of it. Anyone who likes Italy is in good hands here.

It couldn't be better. The fresh, delicious chef's salad with fresh ham was accompanied by the best pizza bread we have ever eaten. The service was super nice and attentive. A great evening. Keep it up!

There is and remains a difference when you eat at a “real” Italian restaurant 🇮🇹👍 It was very tasty there and we will definitely come back.

Just bad! We just wanted to have a relaxed 6th dinner. It started when they messed up the drink order. Large drinks were small and some were missing entirely. Now about the order, about 30 minutes later the food arrived. Ok in itself... but then there was one pizza, the dough wasn't cooked through and was as thin as paper. Then complained and then everyone was finished eating at the table. After 30 minutes the pizza we complained about arrived. I let her go back. Saying I should take her with me. Simply no! Save yourself the visit. A table away also had problems.

The place right on the lake is very nice, the staff is very friendly. Unfortunately the menu only had pizza and pasta, I would have liked fish or a meat dish on it, the pizza was. It was very tasty to eat with mozzarella and there was also olives and bread as a welcome gift from the house. That's why one star less because you can perhaps increase the selection a little.

We love this restaurant because Italian hospitality is the name of the game here. You feel like you've been on holiday a little bit. The food is delicious and the ambience by the lake is beautiful. We like to come back again and again.

We chose this location to enjoy a nice Sunday afternoon. I ordered an ice cream sundae for which I had to wait 30 minutes and when it was finally brought I realized that it wasn't what I ordered. No problem, I should get a new one. For which I had to wait another 30 minutes. In the meantime my partner had already reached the end with his tiramisu and coffee. When the ice cream sundae I had ordered was brought to the table after an hour, I realized again that it did not correspond to the order I had placed at all. What's so hard about an ice cream sundae that contains 3 scoops of yogurt ice cream and strawberries? In the end I gave up ice cream completely and we paid and left. Furthermore, I really have to mention the arrogant manner of the waiters. This location is not in any price-performance ratio and I definitely cannot recommend it. It's a shame that there is no competition here.

Apparently they didn't want us as guests. I just wanted to ask for a table and was mocked, they didn't let me finish and denied my question in the middle of a sentence. Overall, I didn't feel taken seriously and didn't feel welcome at all. Very, very unfriendly and completely for no reason. I'm horrified.

Very nice location right on the water, the food was of great quality. The service was quick and professional. Thank you dear team. It is advisable to reserve during peak times. We will come back.

A really nice place. Just wanted a coffee with ice cream from the ice cream stand that was next door to the restaurant. Unfortunately it wasn't clear that the ice cream stand wasn't serving anything at the table. So we just had a coffee, which was fine. There was also some tension in the air between the restaurant owner and the staff. Too bad! However, I can't comment on the food. Later, however, we each ate a scoop of ice cream from the ice cream stand, which again was highly recommended. Unfortunately, nothing was possible with ice cream cones, only paper cups 🤷.

Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is not good, even if you sit in a nice atmosphere. Portions small, poorly seasoned, let alone the absolutely overpriced starter plate... nothing special, regardless of whether it was pizza or pasta. Service is good, it could be a little friendlier and a little quicker, but overall it's okay. Maybe for an aperitif again, otherwise skip it.

Unfortunately the food was subpar. Embarrassing for an Italian. The pasta was floating in oil, had no seasoning and was definitely al dente. With the lasagna you could look for the pasta sheets between the overcooked minced meat sauce. And the crowd was also a joke. Maybe enough for a child, but definitely not a portion for an adult. When complained, the chef became cheeky and asked if anyone else had a problem. At least the food wasn't charged when paying. Otherwise definitely not recommended.

The restaurant has a great location overlooking the harbor. But that's where the positive ends. We were greeted very rudely by an older waiter and ignored. Another waiter brought us a card and the service was good. The food was beyond bad. The waiter apologized and offered us espresso and grappa. We definitely won't be coming back

There were three of us and Il Lago was our first stop on our spontaneous trip. What can you say? Disappointing as a restaurateur? I don't know. Ambience: Well. A few flowers on the outdoor tables would make it a little more inviting. For the “Hot Cherries with Vanilla Ice Cream” only the vanilla ice cream should be replaced with chocolate. Lt. The waitress said this wasn't possible, but you could queue up at the ice cream stand and buy a scoop of chocolate. I don't understand the problem of simply replacing the scoop of ice cream?! In the end it became a latte. The cup of coffee would have made you think it was espresso. And last but not least, the shandy was at room temperature. Not so hot on a hot day. Conclusion: In 2 out of 3 things alone, Il Lago is out of the running for us and does not qualify for further visits. Everyone has to decide for themselves or just try it out. These are merely empirical values.

Great location, very nice staff. Unfortunately there was only one ice cream sundae and ice cream cafe/ice chocolate. That was super tasty and recommended. Otherwise we haven't tried the "warm" food yet, we'll do that next time 😉

What a beautiful evening! We enjoyed a great Italian evening with a view of the lake in the beautiful evening sun. Starter, main course and drinks were great. It actually took me a year to write this review. The olive starter was served with small wooden skewers and was delicious. For the main course we ordered pasta with shrimp! The main course arrived, the atmosphere was great and I wanted to leave a nice review on Google. To get a better look at the shrimp, I took this small wooden skewer from the starter and draped the shrimp a little more upwards. Suddenly the boss came to me angrily…. why I go back and forth with the “toothpick” (that’s what he called the chopstick) in his food. Loudly in front of all the guests🙈 Terribly aggressive! This way doesn't work at all! A quiet inquiry at the table would have been professional. I paid and didn't even taste it. It's a shame but the waiters were very nice.

Good location by the lake, nice terrace, but in the fresh weather we had to sit inside, and it's not comfortable there, the tables are close, someone keeps walking past your back, very loud, both from the employees (cutlery banging on each other), as well as from the guests (chair legs gathering on the floor, children running). The food was good, but the atmosphere was like in a commercial kitchen.

The restaurant is located right on the lake promenade, which makes for a picturesque view. Especially on sunny days, it is a pleasure to sit outside and enjoy the fresh sea air while trying the delicious dishes. The decor is stylish and cozy, both indoors and on the outdoor terrace, making dining a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The menu offers a diverse selection of Italian and Mediterranean specialties. From crispy wood-fired pizzas to fresh pasta dishes and tempting desserts, there is something here to suit every taste. I would particularly like to highlight the Neapolitan pizza, which is prepared with fresh ingredients and great attention to detail. In summary, "Il Lago" is a perfect place to indulge in culinary delights while enjoying the idyllic surroundings. I can only warmly recommend this restaurant and look forward to my next visit.

A real Italian restaurant with friendly service and delicious food… After a hike in the beautiful area, there is a perfect place to take a break and enjoy Italian delicacies right on the promenade with a view of the small harbor. We just wanted to have something to eat until we set off on the lake cruise on the Santa Barbara. Whether savory with bitters and caprese or sweet as a cappuccino with homemade tiramisu - you will start again very tasty and satisfied. We are convinced that you can also have a wonderful dinner here and spend a perfect early summer evening. Conclusion: absolutely recommended!
