Friendly welcome by the owner, good food and drinks at reasonable prices in a well-maintained restaurant, central location in Konstanz's old town.

"ONE of these nights!" :-) Last Saturday's Greek party was a real highlight in nightlife after a long time!!! Great people, cool tunes, good service – a truly successful evening!!!

A sensational Greek celebration! The atmosphere was fantastic, the food delicious, and the service exceptionally friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back!

I'm not writing this to speak ill of Il Boccone, but because I'm truly disappointed and wish it would become the special place it once was. For me, Il Boccone has sadly become more style than substance – a shadow of what it used to be. Il Boccone used to stand for fine dining, excellent service, Mediterranean flair, and a place where people enjoyed meeting others. People would dress up, happily spend a little more – because they knew it would be a special evening, a relaxing afternoon, or a lovely date. Now, however, I regret almost every visit. And yet, I still go – out of nostalgia or habit. What saddens me most is that being overwhelmed has become the norm, even when the restaurant isn't full. The service seems rushed, unfriendly, and stressed. Unfortunately, the owner doesn't contribute to a pleasant atmosphere – quite the opposite: he paces around, gesticulates wildly, and reprimands his staff in front of the guests in a tone that is simply unpleasant. While the food is still tasty, it's no longer commensurate with the price. Over €15 for a simple pasta or pizza, small appetizers at a similar price – fish and meat dishes are almost unaffordable. Even the house wine, which isn't exactly top-notch, now costs over €6 for 0.1 liters. The events aren't what they used to be either. I used to love going to comedy nights or special events. You'd have a nice seat, good food, and great value for money. Now it feels more like a factory operation – loud, hectic, lacking atmosphere, and without the feeling of experiencing a special evening. Why am I writing this now? Because my experience yesterday at the "Greek Odyssey" event was simply the low point. Chaos at the entrance, food carelessly placed on the table, orders arrived incorrectly or not at all, staff stressed and unfriendly, far too loud – and all this for 50 euros or more. For me, it was unacceptable. And all of this simply hurts because this place once meant a lot to me. When you spend a lot of money these days, you expect a special experience – not the feeling that you would have been better off staying home.

An incredible restaurant, I will always come back.

After a very, very, very long time, I was back at Il Boccone in Konstanz today – this time for lunch – and I'm simply thrilled! 🌞 The starter was already fantastic: grilled octopus on delicate fennel – perfectly prepared, tender, and aromatic. For the main course, I had homemade ravioli with ricotta filling in a wonderful lemon sauce – absolutely divine! 🍋🍝 Il Boccone offers a changing menu that is seasonal and varied – you can taste the freshness and passion of the chefs in every dish. A big compliment also goes to the service: Restaurant manager Filippo and Renata gave me a warm welcome and attentive service. The entire team works together wonderfully – everything here is done with charm, professionalism, and genuine Italian warmth. 🇮🇹 I was here once before, 15-16 years ago, and remembered the restaurant quite differently – today it was a culinary experience of the highest caliber. I was truly delighted and will definitely be back. This is what good gastronomy looks like – this is what Italy tastes like in Konstanz! 🍷✨

I was in this café 12 years ago and really wanted to come back. We spent a day in Konstanz yesterday (we live in Stuttgart) and were very happy to be there. The atmosphere is great and has stayed with me. We wanted to have coffee first and then eat. Unfortunately, our waitress was very unenthusiastic and not child-friendly, so we ended up eating somewhere else. What a shame! She literally rubbed her bad mood off on us.

We had various appetizers, all of which were delicious. For my main course, I had rigatoni. The sauce was very flavorful. The ambiance is very pleasant, but I personally find it too loud.

Good service, nice environment, music choice questionable (2 hrs of country music) I appreciate the originality of the dishes! Small note: I paid too much for a pizza to have to use paper napkins.

After the civil ceremony, we and our wedding party (60-70 people) ate dinner in a private area at Il Boccone and ended the evening at the bar. The entire team at Il Boccone was truly fantastic: super friendly, accommodating, and proactive. The food was very, very good—especially for such a large group—and the drinks in the evening were perfect. The ambiance in the restaurant was highly praised by many guests. We can definitely recommend it for larger events!

I was there yesterday and ordered three whiskey sours, paying by card. Today I noticed that according to the cocktail menu, one whiskey sour costs €12.50 – a total of €37.50. However, the bill was €14.50 per drink, for a total of €43.50. Apparently, the waiter simply set his own price and added €2 per cocktail. You trust that the bill will be correct – but unfortunately, I was ripped off here. Very disappointing!

8 people at 7:00 PM, Saturday. The food is delicious and cooked professionally. The desserts were good. For improvement: 1. The safety of the stairs going up to the first floor. The slope is sharp, not standard. It is very dangerous especially for adults and children! 2. The restaurant prices are very expensive compared to similar restaurants in the area. 3. The freshness of the beer needs to be improved. Very uncommon in Germany. 4. A word of praise for our head waiter named Berat.

Very nice confirmation celebration with about 15 guests - great service, great food, simply perfect

Today was the first and last time. There were three of us. The waitress walked past us many times and ignored us. Until we asked for the menu. The lady was not at all friendly. She said she was coming, but she wasn't. Until we asked for the next person. That's a no-go. After 15 minutes, we were finally able to order. The service is unfriendly.

I have had a date there, the staff was very nice and friendly, speaking English, the food was amazing!! We really loved and enjoyed it. Thank you!

My wife and I had dinner at Il Boccone a few days ago. My wife had a salmon pizza and I had a steak. Both were fantastic! I can tell the pizza is prepared with great care. For drinks, we had a Hugo and a Whiskey Sour. My wife said the Hugo wasn't sweet enough, but the bartender (Alban?) was very helpful and made a new one! I can tell he has a lot of experience behind the bar. The service was fantastic. Thank you! (Allien?!) Sorry, I forgot your name. We'll be back soon; this place is going to be our favorite!

For all pizza lovers: The incomparable spicy salami! Finished with fiery chili sauce for a special kick. Better than any other pizzeria in Konstanz.

I recently visited Il Boccone and was truly impressed. The restaurant has a beautiful and welcoming atmosphere, with a stylish interior that creates the perfect setting for a relaxed meal (the food is really delicious).The ambiance is warm and elegant, making it an ideal place whether you’re dining with friends, family, or for a special occasion.

Great place for Lunch or dinner. Staff is super nice, but if you are lucky you will get Alen as your server! Recommend all the way!

We had cocktails there at lunch and decided to make a reservation for four people the next evening. While we were sitting outside at lunch, we were asked, "Would you like a tablecloth?" Surely the staff should adopt a different tone. The next evening, four of us arrived, and we were ignored, even after we pointed out that we had reserved a table. The waiter walked right past us without even batting an eyelid. At some point, another employee came from inside the restaurant, to whom we told the same thing. He pointed us to an uncovered table somewhere in the back. We sat down and waited and waited and waited... After the ignorant waiter from before also ignored us for quite a while, saying they could have given us the menu, we decided to leave the establishment. Apparently, they don't feel the need to show a certain level of friendliness to their guests. Politely asking for someone to be there for us right away and bring us the menu, even if the person at the next table was calmly taking the payment. We then went straight over to the Noa restaurant, where we received very friendly and courteous service.

Il Boccone is highly recommended! Food: Absolutely fresh salad with sauce to pour over it yourself; the salad was served before the pizza, and the pizza was crispy and fresh from the oven with top-notch ingredients. Service: Alen was competent, attentive, courteous, and extremely friendly, and you can tell he enjoys his job. THANK YOU for the lovely evening.

I've rarely had such good Italian food! The pasta with fresh porcini mushrooms was incredibly delicious, and the espresso afogatto was a dream. Excellent service (from everyone)!

We avoided it for more than a year but went back today, to join a befriended couple who made the reservation. Food was better than remembered but value for money is not given. Atmosphere was non existing as some kind of solo musician tried to entertain the entire city of Konstanz. Way too loud, conversations were difficult. Service was so so. Some nice staff members, some not so motivated members, but the worst part was the arrogance of the evening manager. It was so bad, that we considered reaching out to the owner who is personally known by our friends who made the reservation. I can not really recommend this place

So we can't understand the bad reviews at all... We were greeted warmly, served quickly, and felt very comfortable! 😊 So comfortable that we returned here for lunch after our stroll. And we weren't disappointed; the food was fantastic, the portions more than sufficient, and our waiter deserves special recognition: "BERHAT"! Huge ❤️, very friendly and extremely competent! We've never experienced anything like it anywhere! A young man who is not only friendly but also knowledgeable about the food and passionate about his job, a rare experience... THANK YOU... The food and ambiance were top-notch, especially the homemade salad dressing. However, the waiters were very unfriendly and irritated. Our salads had been sitting there for five minutes and the dressing wasn't there. When we asked for it, the waiter was annoyed and snorted loudly...unfortunately sad for such a lovely restaurant.

The ambiance is incredibly beautiful! We had high expectations because it looked so inviting. The service is relatively fast, but smiles are a foreign concept there. The staff are incredibly lackluster, more like rushed work. The food was okay, but I wouldn't order it again. The Bolognese sauce didn't taste fresh. It tasted exactly like Miracoli's. So, no indication of freshly cooked food. When I asked what was on the antipasti platter, I was told, quote, "sometimes this, sometimes that."

We've given Il Boccone in Konstanz a chance several times now – primarily because of its attractive location in the heart of the city. Unfortunately, each time we're left with the hope that something has improved. What can I say? We're constantly disappointed. The service is extremely slow, often inattentive, and often seems overwhelmed. At times, we're greeted with a palpable arrogance, which, combined with the obviously untrained staff, neither matches the establishment's self-image nor the price level. The food is okay, but in no way justifies the price. For what's offered here, the quality, professionalism, and hospitality culture are lacking. The decor – with the striking staircase and the fireplace on the upper floor – was certainly once modern and appealing, but now looks a bit worn and can no longer conceal the restaurant's weaknesses. Conclusion: Beautiful location, lots of potential, but too many disappointing experiences. This was probably our last visit.

Below-average – disappointing service at events We attended a large event in the main hall. We had to choose one of three dishes in advance, and on-site, colored tokens were provided to match the selection. The staff repeatedly went around with lists and noted how many portions were needed for each dish. Despite this preparation, several dishes were missing from each course. After eight out of ten people at the table had already finished their main course, we asked about the missing portions – the only response was a rude "The kitchen is busy right now." We'll ignore the missing appetizer salads for now. The drinks service was also disappointing: It wasn't until over an hour after the start, when the appetizer salad had already been consumed, that we were asked for drink requests. Despite a reservation, the rest of the restaurant was also full – something that the staff couldn't handle. Conclusion: The food tasted good, but the service was disproportionate to the high price. I cannot recommend this venue for larger events.

Best Italian food outside Italy

The food was mediocre for the price. The service was very poor; after the first service, you had to call the waiter several times before they came. I would have liked to order more drinks, but as I said, the waiters didn't pay any attention to us.

Great atmosphere. When we first visited a few years ago, we were absolutely thrilled. Now, there are a lot of disinterested service staff staring at their phones or tablets. I don't imagine a friendly welcome would be like that. So we skipped the food and left after a drink.

I was invited to a birthday party! The food was amazing! The service was very friendly and attentive! The atmosphere was lively. The DJ was great, maybe a little too loud, but good! Highly recommended!

My husband and I have been to this restaurant several times over the past few years and have always been satisfied. Yesterday I visited the restaurant with my girlfriend. And what can I say... We were very disappointed: the service was disastrous. The waiter was beyond arrogant and unfriendly. There were more than enough waiting staff. The ordered food was on the table within a few minutes, including an Aperol Spritz. Everything was delivered together. When I asked why this was the case, the waiter replied very rudely that he had asked me if that was okay. I would have said yes. I hadn't, and he didn't ask me either... The insalata mista was a green salad with two thin radish wheels and three wafer-thin cucumber slices. The pasta was lumpy, and the tomato sauce wasn't great. You can definitely expect more from an Italian restaurant. The price of over €80 was definitely too high for what was offered (2 bottles of mineral water, 2 Aperol Spritz, 2 insalata mista, 2 thin pasta dishes with meatless tomato sauce, 1 espresso). My conclusion: very disappointing, and a shame that more isn't offered in this price range.

My favorite restaurant for one simple reason: these days (especially in Switzerland), it's almost commonplace for guests to be treated rudely and inattentively. It's starting to get on my nerves when you feel like you're actually "disturbing" someone... And from the very beginning (and even after many visits!), Boccone has always been, without exception (and even when the staff is very busy due to a full house!), a true ray of hope for me, with a wonderful ambiance, meticulously maintained down to the last detail, and attentive, friendly, and professional staff! I'm always delighted by the professionalism; that's quite rare these days. Style comes from the chef, and you can see it in every corner of Boccone. Highly recommended!

The service is very poor. The service staff, which consists entirely of poorly spoken staff who are also grumpy, unable to smile, or be friendly, is incredibly annoying, and as a German guest, you almost have to apologize for going there for dinner. It seems as if only Swiss guests are welcome. Never ever.

The food and drinks were okay - we spent €180 and paid by card. We wanted to leave the tip in cash, but when the waiter saw we weren't tipping, he just said, "Aha, no tip." He put €20 on the table and said, "Guys, if you don't have enough for more, drink one for me."

The octopus grigliato is a must here. The homemade linguine is also very good. The staff is usually friendly, if always a little stressed. Nevertheless, we like coming here, if only for the octopus.

Food good, service catastrophic. Unfriendly from start to finish of the stay. But the worst part was paying. We told waitress "A" we wanted to pay. She said she would pass it on as she wasn't responsible for us. 10 minutes later we told waitress "B" (who was responsible for us) we wanted to pay. She said no problem, I'll be right there. She then pointed out our table in a very conspicuous way, which is very cheeky, and said condition "C": go over there, they want to pay. After 30 minutes we finally paid. There were 4 waitresses assigned to the outside area and an estimated 30 guests there. In other good restaurants 2 good waitresses do this. We definitely won't be eating there again.

Highly recommended. It has a classy feel, and the food tastes great. Unfortunately, it's located on a main road, but that doesn't detract from the quality.

We're from northern Germany and this was our first time here. Reason: Meeting up with friends! We were thrilled, the food was super delicious, and the espresso with ice was the highlight. 👍 Lovingly looked after by Olga and her lovely colleagues. We were able to change tables without any problems thanks to the sunshine. II Boccone gets ten stars instead of five ⭐️ All the best 🍀

For several years now, whenever we vacation in Konstanz, we've enjoyed coming to IL BOCCONE. We've always been very satisfied. The food is excellent, the ambiance is very pleasant, and the service staff is very friendly and attentive. We're happy to come back again and again.

I am very unhappy with this restaurant. My wife and I were refused a table in the restaurant and put in a back room where instead of having padded seats, we were given very tired wooden chairs. All this only to see that an hour later other couples had been given the tables that had been refused us. The pizza looked like it had been pre-prepared and the spaghetti scampi only had a whole carcass, but no scampi. The 45 euro rosé wine was good. In short, a 100 euro meal was a failure.

We've wandered here several times... a culinary delight every time. The food is extremely delicious, artfully presented, and perfectly seasoned. The only downside: the portions are quite small, and the price is quite high. Probably due to Switzerland being just around the corner... Nevertheless, we'll see you again and we highly recommend the restaurant.

We wanted to go out for drinks with a group of eight people on Wednesday around 5pm. The restaurant was almost empty at this point, but we were not offered a table where we could sit together. Instead we had to stand at the bar, which proved quite inconvenient for a group. Unfortunately we were ignored there - no one took an order. When we finally moved a small side table at the bar, we were reprimanded directly and unfriendly. That was the end of the visit for us – we left the restaurant. I have rarely experienced such poor and unfriendly service. For now I definitely won't be coming back.

We have been very satisfied regular guests for over 10 years, celebrate our birthdays at il boccone and are there probably once a week for dinner or lunch. We and our friends always receive a very friendly and warm welcome. The food is excellent and prepared with a lot of love, including the homemade desserts and the delicious cakes.

Absolutely recommended for friends of fine Italian cuisine! A very good rosé (blush) accompanied my equally good meal. The starter “Pulpo with fennel” was followed by “Gnocchi with veal liver” as the main course. Everything was very delicately seasoned. Unfortunately, the location on the main street is not quite ideal for sitting outside and chilling…

I wanted to have Italian food on my 30th birthday whilst I was in Konstanz. I’m vegetarian therefore I don’t eat meat, rennet and egg. The chef Rodica, understood my situation so well and also offered to make me a special meal bearing my dietary restrictions in mind. The dish was absolutely delicious! Was extremely happy that I chose to go to Il Boccone on my birthday. I’d once again love to thank Rodica and the team for making my birthday special.

German quality at Swiss prices - something like that doesn't work. We don't like paying a lot of money for overcooked pasta and meat from factory farms. If it's classic German, then it has to be cheap according to the quality. Otherwise we don't need to go to Germany.

Grosses italienisches Restaurant mit schöner Karte. Hatte Carpaccio als Vorspeise - leicht zitronig und nicht zu kalt. Etwas übersichtlich aber lecker. Hauptgericht: Pizza mit scharfer Salami - gelungen. Service war freundlich und zuverlässig. Zeitweise war es sehr laut - es gab Live Musik mit einer sehr kompetenten Big Band - wir haben einen Abend mit dem Lakeside Jazz Orchester erwischt - phänomenal, toller Sound, ohne Eintritt. Vor lauter Begeisterung Bilder von den Sehr guten Gerichten vergessen 😂

Preis Leistungsverhältnis nicht in Ordnung.Qualitaet Durchschnitt. Bedienung nicht gerade sehr freundlich. Würde ich nicht weiter empfehlen.
